His steps didn't echo on the cold concrete floors even if his bare feet sometimes scraped along the rough floor. He counted the seconds under his breathe. 136. 135. 134. The door on the left, only tens steps away, slowly opened and out stepped a short man with four arms, in a too large for him white lab coat, the clipboard in hand taking up most of his attention. Exactly as planned, he thought, as he rocketed upwards driving his knee straight into the man's chin, even without his quirk he was still a maximum security personal partly due him constantly escaping and partly because of his brain. He quickly grabbed the doctor's security card and two of his four and pulled him back into room he had just exited.
Along one wall was a large clear glass window, with a door cut out, looking into a white cushioned room with a single sleeping little girl on the bed. Along the other wall was a series of test tubes and drawers full of files. Closing the metal door behind him he grabbed a vial off of one of the shelves and then took 15 steps towards the glass door and proceeded to use the keycard again to enter the room. Kneeling down next the peacefully sleeping child, he knew had at most 28 seconds to try and wake her. He didn't bother in shaking or shouting to wake her, instead he gently placed his palm onto her forehead and moved her hair out of her face revealing a small horn that rose out the front of her head. Simultaneously, he poured the contents of the vial into the small girl's drooling open mouth.
The girl's eyes slowly fluttered open looking around her room before finally refocusing on her saviour. He spoke first "Good morning princess ready to get out of here" "Daddy" she exclaimed " I thought I would wake up and u wouldn't be there" Grabbing and lifting her up mid sentence, he used his left arm to keep her in place leaning on his shoulder " I promised didn't I. Now we need to get out of here so you need to stay quiet alright" Smartly she nodded instead of vocalising her response. 96 seconds. Tight but doable. He made sure the little girl was comfortable before dashing out of room and along the corridor again.
The girl had been drugged to make the transport easier and to also help with security. She had been sold to some other generic world conquering organisation wanting to use her quirk to do it. He didn't much care about those particular details just the when it would happen and where she would be when it did. It took him 3 other escapes and punishments to get those details but it was worth it, this girl was almost like his daughter he had practically raised her in here. For 5 years he had watched her grow and due to her constant infectious smile it had made the past years much easier.
Today was the perfect time to use that info to escape he had memorised the staff shift schedules and planned leave. By just pure luck that monster wasn't here either otherwise he would have a much harder time. 36 seconds. There would be a small window where the staff rotation didn't kiss, leaving the west facing corridor on the third floor empty. Not that there was much on this corridor in the first place, a few store rooms and offices, meaning they weren't too eager to cover the gap, this is what he counted on anyway.
17 seconds. Turning onto said corridor he could almost taste freedom. Suddenly alarms blared around him. 'Sloppy' he thought ' 2 minutes to realise my absence'. The journey up several flight out of the basement had been hard to do but his quickly returning quirk had not only helped him speed up, as according to his plan, but also reassured him more that his plan would work. 13 years in the making, it had to work.
He had calculated everything, his speed, his moves, his steps, everything just so it was safe efficient and would actually work. Just as he was 4 steps away from the barred window his power returned. He felt like he had running on low power mode this entire time. A strong wide swept him and his almost daughter up from behind and carried them the rest of the way to the window. A number of quirks in this world were capable of destroying the side of a building but none were like the wind simply cutting the entire wall out as easily as cutting butter then replacing it back like nothing happened. The cuts made on the wall were made at an atomic levels and when the wall was replaced the bricks and metal pipes simply ignored the fact that they had been cut.
At a much faster speed then the floating before, the two flew out and into the night leaving there past behind, or at least for now
