Bracelets part 3

"Sinbad!" Yelled Doubar as he fell to his knees next to Rongar and put his hands on his brother's shaking body.

He turned to Maeve and demanded, "Why is he being hurt?! Bryn wasn't!"

Maeve lowered herself down to her knees, raised Sinbad's head to her lap, ran her finger through his hair and said simply, "Brynna is the daughter of the current guardian of the defenses of the island. She is also from one of the founding bloodlines of the Hidden Wicca. The moment her feet touched the sands her memories were returned like water running gently over one's skin. Sinbad, Doubar, your grandfather washed up on the shore due to a shipwreck and decided to stay. He was magical and his birth religion did not have much tolerance for magic. He fell in love with a woman here and had your mother and her younger brother, your uncle Malcolm. Your mother and grandfather left the island by accident and totally forgot about this place."

She turned her gaze to Sinbad then and ended, "Dyanna, the guardian, is of the opinion that they were fated to leave. Otherwise Mala would not have met your father and not have born you and Sinbad."

Sinbad groaned and rocked from side to side muttering to himself too softly for them to make anything out. Then his eyes opened up and to their shock, they were glowing oceanic blue!

"By Allah!" Exclaimed Doubar and Firouz as they sat down on their feet in shock.

Maeve hummed in contentment as she continued to thread her fingers through his chestnut brown hair and said,"His memories are nearly all returned to him."

He was falling through a rainbow of colors. Reds oranges yellows green blues and purples of all hues and brilliance blinded him as he tumbled in and out of the colors flying all around him.

Suddenly he was on a ship at the tiller with waves crashing into him and trying to push him overboard. Rain was slicing through the air obscuring his vision of the ship.

Then……

"Secure the rigging!" He yelled to anyone who might be able to hear him.

He brushed his waterlogged hair out of his eyes only for the strands to fall right back over his eyes with more rain drenching his body sending a shiver straight down his spine.

He remembered this! This was the fateful voyage of his first command as Captain of the Voyager. This was NOT his first command, but this was the storm that caused him to lose his memories. Then he was lost to his memories once more…

He saw a shadowy figure he thought was his bunk-mate struggle to reach the ropes to tie them down. Tetsu was a good man. A man lost and journeying to find a new life for himself after the death of his old master in the Oriental.

Then the largest wave he had ever witnessed in his eight years on ship from cabin boy to Captain slammed into the Voyager. He felt himself being flung from the shop and slamming into the raging seas.

His next memory….

He groggily awoke on a sandy beach. A plank of his ship still clutched desperately within his hands. With a groan he mentally called upon a strength he wasn't sure he had to let the plank go.

Then he heard another groan beside him. Throwing himself over onto his other side he was gratified to see Tetsu there beside him clutching his own plank.

"Tetsu…" he croaked as he struggled to roll over and shake his new friend awake.

The Oriental man groaned, making him feel great relief that he was indeed still alive.

After another couple of minutes of gathering their strength and balance once more, the two of them clearly glanced around them and saw a green forest a few feet ahead of them.

"What do you recon?" Asked Tetsu as he pulled a leather cord from his pocket and tied up his hair away from his face.

Sinbad nodded and said, "Hopefully there is water, food and shelter and people here to tell us where we are, my friend. Are you ready to go?"

Tetsu nodded and the two of them stumbled their way through the deep thick forest. It was easy.

The forest was thick from the start. They had indeed found man made trails to follow, but it was hard to see farther than a few feet into the forest itself.

Then almost like magic they found a pond glittering a beautiful blue to their exhausted and thirsty minds. Stumbling quickly to their sole salvation, they collapsed by the edge of the pond and drank their fill.

Once sated, Sinbad rocked back to his rear end and plopped down to relax his exhausted body. Only then did he realize there were two people watching them curiously.

One was an older woman with long dark brown hair braided in a rope down to her lower back and golden brown eyes. Her eyes were sharp like a cat's and her nose tilted up like a fairy's. Her ears were slightly pointed too. The second woman caused a jolt of warmth to flow through him. She was an exact copy of the first woman, only younger and more beautiful.

Each woman wore a thick heavy looking bracelet with a rainbow band around the middle of the leather.

The older woman nodded and said, "Welcome weary travelers to the Isle of the Hidden Wicca. My name is Dyanna and this is my daughter Brynna. Come, let us get you some food and warm clothes and you can tell us how you came to be on our island."

Then the next two years flashed by in quick succession….

Meeting Brynna properly and her family.

Explaining how he and Tetsu arrived on the island.

Him finishing out about his grandfather and mother being from this Clan.

He found out because he looked exactly like Malcolm who in turn looked like his grandfather Malachi.

Meeting Malcolm, his wife Alexandrea, and their children Mallory, Malcolm junior, Malinda, and Malik.

And then most importantly to him, he who had never truly known a mother's love, his grandmother, Sina.

His shock to find out that both his grandparents were born from Jewish stock, but when they realized their powers, they each quickly left their villages and found their ways here individually where they met and fell in love.

He remembered the heartbreak she and his uncle experienced when he told them sadly that Malachi and Mala were dead for seventeenth years now and how his older brother Doubar had raised him while they stayed and learned under the sorcerer DimDim of the Isle of Dawn.

Learning that DimDim was a dear friend of theirs. How he and Caipra came to visit regularly as their schedules allowed.

Having a young eighteen year old Brynna come and ask to show him around.

Then the memories of them taking walks and talking about this and that. Him going to magic lessons and struggling to bring forth his powers.

Brynna offered to tutor him.

Being told after a few weeks to call her Bryn.

Tetsu goes and walks and falls hard for Bryn's friend Aileigha, and she in turn falls hard for him.

Him and Bryn share a few chaste kisses here and there.

Then the lessons became easier and yet he and Bryn still meet for "tutoring" and Dyanna coming to him and letting him know that she would not be opposed to him being her son-in-law one day, but cautioned him to be totally sure about his feelings because Bryn was innocent to the ways of the outside world.

He struggled to understand his feelings.

He knew he cared deeply for her. She was his closest friend here. Their kisses had turned more intense lately too.

He liked those and wanted more, but at the same time he wasn't sure it was smart to do so.

She was lovely and her magic made him feel a gentle warmth that flowed over him like a warm blanket would.

He knew she loved him. She had all but declared it when Tetsu and Aileigha announced their wedding.

But while Tetsu had nothing holding him back from making a life for himself here, he had people on the outside he wanted to see again. He knew if he stayed to build a life with Bryn he would not be able to see his brother, friends, the outside wonders again unless a chance of fate brought them to the island.

He remembered telling Bryn he didn't want to commit to a permanent relationship just yet because he wanted to go out to find his brother and handle his outside responsibilities first.

She said she understood and would be waiting for him to come back. She told him her mother would make it so that he would be able to remember even after he crossed the boundary lines.

Then he remembered giving her a hug and said, " I'll speak of this to Tetsu and get his opinion on things before I make my decision okay? I'll see you at dinner."

Then he remembered taking Tetsu and going on the walk through the forest and staying on their marked path. Then Tetsu stumbled on a root that magically came to life and knocked the Oriental into him, sending them both off the marked path.

He remembered both of them had a split second to send panicked looks at one another and then he found himself on an island with no memories of how he got there with the bracelet in his wrist. And a need to find home.

He blinked and groaned as he opened his eyes and found himself looking into deep chocolate brown eyes that had a warmth to them that he knew he would crave until the end of the world.

He smiled as her warmth endured, sending that steamy sensation through him once more and knew immediately that he had to end whatever was between him and Bryn. Her warmth, while nice, was not the all consuming warmth that Maeve created within him.

"Sinbad?" She asked cautiously as he slowly sat up with her help.

Sinbad glanced around at his friends, noticed Bryn wasn't here, but remembers she ran into the forest. He knew she went to Dyanna.

He nodded and said, "I remember now."
