LATER
After arriving home after collecting his pills from the pharmacy, he walked inside and was greeted by Freddy.
"Hello Mike!" Freddy spoke in a cheerful tone.
"Hey Freddy" Michael smiled.
"Anyone come by the house today or anything?" Michael then asked, entering the kitchen.
"Nope. It's only been me here since you left earlier this morning" Freddy replied. Michael nodded a little.
As Michael grabbed a mug from the kitchen cabinet, aiming to make some coffee, the same voice he had heard from earlier suddenly said his name. And what accompanied that was a short bout of pain.
"Argh!" Michael yelped. The mug slipped from his hands and hit the ground, breaking on impact.
When the pain subsided after a few seconds, along with the dizzying feeling, he saw the remains of the mug on the ground. He swore under his breath as he then grabbed a dustpan and broom and began sweeping the shards into the dustpan.
Once he had cleaned the mess up and had thrown away the broken pieces, he went to the bathroom to see if there was anything wrong with him.
"Are you ok, Mike?" Freddy asked out of concern.
"I'm fine, Freddy. Just dropped something" Michael told him, hoping he wouldn't worry.
Once he finally made it to the bathroom, he turned on the light and closed the door. He then turned to look at himself in the mirror. He noticed that he was looking a little pale. Suddenly, his eyes flashed a glowing purple, startling him. He stumbled backwards due to it startling him and he hit his back on the wall. His reflection then changed. He was no longer looking at his terrified self. He was looking at a reflection of him, grinning evilly. With his shoulders shaking with laughter.
"You're…you're not real!" Michael immediately said, shutting his eyes, trying to ignore it.
"But I am real, Michael" His own voice said. Michael opened his eyes again and looked at his reflection.
"I am as real as you are. And I ain't going nowhere. There's nothing you or your silly little family can do to stop me!" He grinned.
"Screw you!" Michael yelled before leaving the bathroom. However as he left, he felt a presence with him. And it soon made him feel not terrified or scared. But angry. Disdainful. His eyes glowed purple. Whatever this thing was, was now in control. And Michael was forced into the backseat while this evil thing took the drivers seat. A grin slowly appeared on Michael's face before disappearing again.
LATER, AFTER SCHOOL
Gregory and Sean walked into the house, talking to each other about their classes, how boring most of the day had seemed to them how exciting the sports program was. They neared the living room area when they noticed Michael in the kitchen with his back facing them. Obviously doing something.
"Hey Mike" Gregory spoke. Michael didn't respond. He just ignored Gregory. Gregory stood there, feeling that this was super odd. Sean tried saying hi as well but like Gregory, he too was ignored.
"Freddy, do you know what's going on with Mike?" Gregory asked, looking at Freddy. Who was sitting on the sofa. He turned his head to look at Michael.
"I am not sure. He seemed a little off earlier but now…I do not know" Freddy said, looking back at Gregory and Sean. Michael then turned around and looked at the two boys with a smile.
"I'm perfectly fine boys" Michael said in a tone that Gregory had not heard before.
"You sure? You seem….a little off" Sean asked, raising an eyebrow slightly.
"Why are you asking questions?" Michael asked before walking into the living room and sitting down on the sofa. Sean and Gregory looked at each other before heading down the hall to their room.
"That was….weird" Sean said to Gregory.
"You're telling me" Gregory said back, sighing a little.
"You think it's the blackouts starting again?" Sean asked.
"No. This feels….different. I've never seen him act so weirdly" Gregory answered.
DINNER
Sean, Gregory and Michael sat at the table, eating dinner. However, towards the end of the meal, Gregory felt a bit full. He couldn't eat anymore. He stood up to take his plate to the kitchen when Michael stopped him.
"What are you doing?" Michael asked. Gregory looked at him. So did Sean.
"I'm just gonna wrap this up and put it in the fridge, I can't finish it" Gregory told him.
"Can't finish it? Or can't be bothered?" Michael sneered as his brow furrowed. Before Gregory could speak, Michael grabbed him by the wrist tightly and pulled him towards him.
"Ow! Mike, you're hurting me" Gregory told him, feeling the harsh grip on his wrist tighten. Sean tried to tell Michael to let him go. But all he got back was Michael yelling at him, telling him to shut up. Leaving Sean sitting there, shocked and unsure what to say. Gregory looked at Sean, seeing him getting visibly upset. He then looked back at Michael and….his eyes widened. Michael's eyes were glowing purple.
"Mike! Let go!" Gregory demanded, trying to pull his wrist away. Just as the glowing in Michael's eyes stopped, he let go of Gregory's wrist, causing the boy to fall to the ground and accidentally spill his food on the ground. Michael clenched his eyes shut, shaking his head a little. When his eyes opened again, he saw Gregory sitting on the ground, looking at the spilt contents of food.
"Gregory?" Michael spoke. Gregory looked up at him with a tearful look. That seemed to be mixed with a bit of fear. Michael hadn't seen that kind of look on Gregory before but it hurt him because Gregory was looking at him with that expression.
"Gregory I-" Michael spoke before Gregory quickly got up, picked up his food from the floor, placed it on the plate and then walked into the kitchen and threw it out. Michael then looked at Sean, who looked away from him, sniffling a little. He got up from his seat and followed Gregory down the hall towards their bedroom.
Michael flinched a little when he heard the door slam shut.
"Wha….what did I do?" Michael asked himself, eventually burying his head in his hands.
