LATER, AFTON HOUSE
"Thanks for walking me home guys" Gregory smiled, looking at Grace and Sean.
"That's all good" Sean smiled, hugging Gregory. Gregory hugged him back.
"Just let us know if you and your dad need help with anything" Grace smiled, also giving Gregory a hug. Kissing him on the cheek as well.
"I will" Gregory said, smiled back as he began wheeling himself to the front porch. Sean walked over to help him up onto the porch. Once he was up there, he thanked Sean.
Then, Grace and Sean began heading home. Gregory smiled a little before reaching into his pocket for his house keys. Once he had found them, he pushed them into the lock and turned them. The door clicked and opened.
As he wheeled himself into the house, he heard Freddy's voice coming from the kitchen. Saying Michael's name and telling to wake up. Hearing this, made Gregory panic. He rushed to the kitchen to find Michael sprawled out on the ground, a broken glass next to him with what appeared to be water surrounding the shards and Freddy trying to wake him up.
"Michael!" Gregory exclaimed, sliding off his wheelchair and sitting beside Michael. He pulled Michael over so he was lying on his back. Michael was pale and looking really ill.
"Michael wake up!" Gregory demanded loudly as he shook Michael's shoulder. Michael didn't wake up. Hoping Sean and Grace hadn't walked off that far, Gregory painfully pulled himself up onto his wheelchair and quickly wheeled over to the front door. He opened it and skidded to a halt on the porch. When he managed to catch a glimpse of them, he called their names. They turned and came running.
"What's wrong?" Sean asked as he and Grace approached the porch with worried looks on their faces.
"I just found Michael passed out on the ground. Freddy's trying to wake him up but nothings working" Gregory explained.
"I'll call 911" Sean said, grabbing out his phone and dialling 911. Grace asked him to show where Michael was and Gregory immediately wheeled inside to show her.
When she saw Michael, she kneeled down beside him and checked his pulse. It was going rather fast, which was really concerning.
Sean came running in a few minutes later.
"They said they'll be here in twenty minutes" Sean said as he approached the kitchen. His eyes widened when he saw Michael on the ground, out cold.
As Grace checked for other things on Michael that maybe could've attributed to his unconsciousness, she found a cut on Michael's arm, Which was bleeding quite badly.
"Sean, go and find a towel or something to wrap this in" Grace said, looking up at him quickly.
"Gregory, where's the linen cupboard?" Sean asked.
"Down the hall, near the bathroom" Gregory replied. Sean nodded and quickly rushed down the hall. While waiting for Sean to get back, Grace did her best to contain the bleeding with her hands. She then looked at Gregory, who was looking panicked.
"Don't worry, Gregory. He's going to be ok" She told him. He looked at her and then back at Michael. The reassurance sort of helped but it didn't stop the worrying he was still feeling for his father. Sean eventually came back with a few towels and some bandages as well.
"I found the bandages in the bathroom if that also helps" Sean said, showing Grace the contents in his hands.
"Give me the towels first and then the bandages after to wrap his arm in" Grace told him. Sean gave her the towels and she immediately applied pressure to the wound.
After almost ten minutes, Grace removed the towels, seeing that the bleeding had slowed down a bit. Something she was relieved about. Sean then handed her the bandages and she began tightly wrapping Michael's arm with it. She then stood up and turned to Freddy.
"Freddy, can you help me get him to the sofa?" Grace asked.
"Of course Grace" Freddy answered as he bent over to pick up Michael's upper half. Grace grabbed Michael's legs and then, with the help of Freddy, they both managed to lift Michael off the ground. They then brought him over to the sofa and laid him down. Gregory wheeled over the sofa and sat beside Michael as Grace went to clean up the mess in the kitchen.
"You're Glamrock Freddy? From the Mega Pizzaplex?" Sean asked Freddy, finally taking a moment to look at him.
"Yes. Indeed I am. Are you a friend of Gregory's from school?" Freddy spoke, looking at Sean. Sean smiled slightly, nodding.
"Gregory and I weren't always friends" Sean admitted.
"Were you one of the kids that hit Gregory at school?" Freddy asked. Sean sighed a little, ashamed about that. He then nodded.
"But he apologised for acting like an asshat. It's already dealt with, Freddy" Gregory said, looking up at him before looking back at Michael.
A few minutes later, paramedics came in.
"How long has he been out like this?" One of the paramedics asked.
"Not long before Gregory got home" Freddy said. The paramedics looked at Freddy. Astonished by him.
"How long ago was that?" One of the paramedics then asked a few seconds later.
"Almost twenty five minutes ago" Gregory answered. The paramedics then began checking Michael. They checked his pulse and blood pressure.
"What happened to his arm?" One of the paramedics asked, soon noticing the bandage on Michael's arm.
"It looked like he was holding a glass before he collapsed. A shard must've cut his arm when it broke" Grace answered, walking over to the sofa.
"Ok well, his pulse is really high. Same with his blood pressure. We need to take him to the hospital to get him checked out by the doctors" One of the paramedics said to the other paramedic. The other paramedic agreed. The first paramedic then rushed out to grab a stretcher from the ambulance.
"What's your dad's name?" The paramedic asked Gregory, looking at him.
"Michael. Michael Afton" Gregory answered. The paramedic looked at him in a bit of shock before looking back down at Michael.
"He's nothing like William…if that's what you're wondering" Sean said. Gregory looked at him with a smile.
The other paramedic came back in with the stretcher and lowered it to the height of the sofa. Michael was moved onto the stretcher and then wheeled out of the house. Gregory, Sean and Grace followed them.
"Freddy, can you look after the house please?" Gregory asked, quickly looking back at him.
"Of course" Freddy spoke in his usual tone. Gregory then left the house, closing the door behind him. Sean and Grace helped Gregory down off the porch and then the three of them followed the paramedics to the ambulance.
"Can all three of us come? Mostly so we can be there for Gregory" Grace asked. The paramedics looked inside the ambulance, trying to see how they could fit three kids in there. One of them being in a wheelchair.
"Alright, I guess you three can come. One of you will have to ride in the front though" One of the paramedics said.
"I will" Sean said, immediately rushing over to the passenger seat of the ambulance and climbing in.
Once Michael was pushed into the back of the ambulance, Gregory was helped out of his wheelchair by Grace and then helped into the ambulance by both Grace and the other paramedic. The paramedic grabbed Gregory's wheelchair and folded it so it could fit into the vehicle as well. Gregory winced a bit from the pain in his back. Once they were all in the ambulance, the doors were shut and the first paramedic climbed into the front seat and began driving towards the hospital.
LATER, AT THE HOSPITAL
Michael lay in a hospital bed, still unconscious. Still looking as bad as he did when Gregory discovered him. Gregory sat beside the bed with Sean and Grace by his side.
Eventually, a doctor came in with a clipboard in his hands. All three kids noticed the doctor and immediately looked at him, wondering what news he had about Michael. Including the tests the hospital ran on him.
"It seems like Michael suffered some sort of weird brain activity, which caused him to pass out. We've tried determining the brain activity itself but, we're coming up with nothing" The doctor explained.
"Well, how do we find out what caused him to pass out then?" Sean asked, clearly annoyed by the result from the doctor.
"My best solution is asking Michael when he wakes up" The doctor answered.
"And how long will that be?" Gregory asked.
"We're not sure. But with the other tests we have taken, he's quickly showing signs of improvement. So, hopefully in the next hour or so he should" The doctor replied.
After several more minutes of the doctor explaining things to the kids, he left the room. Telling them to press the call button if they needed to.
"I wish I knew what was going on with him" Gregory said, sighing a little as he held Michael's hand.
"Hopefully we should when he wakes up" Sean told him.
Shortly after, Sean's phone buzzed. He grabbed it out of his pocket and looked at it. A disappointed look on his face appeared. It was a message from his father saying "GET HOME NOW!".
"What's wrong Sean?" Grace asked, looking at him with concern.
"It's my dad. He wants me home" Sean answered, sighing a little as he stood up from the chair he had been sitting in. He then walked over to where Gregory and Grace were. He hugged them both and did a bro handshake with Gregory.
"Just let us know if we can help in any way" Grace told him. Sean nodded.
"Thanks. I will text you guys if I need to" Sean said as he then walked over to the door.
"See you later, Sean" Gregory said. Grace also said goodbye.
"Bye" Sean spoke, leaving the room and closing the door behind him. Grace and Gregory exchanged worried looks.
"You think his father will be angry at him for being here with us?" Grace asked.
"Yeah. And that's what I'm worried about" Gregory answered.
