LATER, MASON CITY GENERAL HOSPITAL
"You're all stitched and bandaged up" The doctor said to Michael as he finished wrapping his hand with bandages.
"Thanks doc" Michael smiled slightly. The doctor then walked over to Sebastian, Sean and Gregory.
"Has blackouts like this happened before?" He asked them.
"Yeah" Sean answered, nodding.
"There's been other blackouts?" The doctor asked in shock. Gregory nodded.
"He could be busy doing something and then all of a sudden, he either collapses out of nowhere or starts acting completely different. And then waking up a few minutes later, feeling fine and having little to no memory of what he's said" Gregory said.
"But this type of blackout is new. He's never blacked out and caused injury to himself" Sean added. The doctor looked at Michael and then back at the three.
"Well, keep an eye on him for the meantime. And get him to rest as much as he can. So he's not causing injury to others or himself" The doctor told them.
"Thank you" Sebastian smiled. Gregory then walked over to Michael.
"Hey Michael" Gregory said. Michael looked at him, smiling slightly.
"How are you feeling?" Gregory then asked.
"Awful. Absolutely awful. Mostly because of how I treated you" Michael answered.
"You don't need to apologise for that" Gregory smiled, shaking his head. Michael looked at him, confused. He did need to apologise. He could see the hurt in Gregory's eyes when he said what he said when he wasn't himself. But he couldn't say anything because something was stopping him from doing so. He soon found out why.
"I feel like I do though. I know a lot of that wasn't me but sometimes….it felt like it was. And I would never talk to you or Sean or even Freddy like that but….for some reason…..I did" Michael explained.
"Michael! You don't need to apologise" Gregory told him in an almost stern tone. Which shocked Michael a little. He had never heard Gregory talk to him like that. But it didn't upset him or anything.
LATER, BACK AT HOME
After arriving home, Sean and Gregory went off to their room to play a video game together. Leaving Michael and Sebastian to do their own thing.
"Wanna watch a movie or something?" Sebastian asked, pointing to the TV as he looked at Michael, who looked weak and needed to rest. He nodded. He then helped Michael over to the sofa and helped him to sit down. He then sat next to Michael and used the remote to turn on the TV and choose a movie.
"I'm really glad you're here, Sebastian" Michael smiled, looking at Sebastian. Sebastian looked at him and smiled. Then Michael kissed him. To which Sebastian kissed him back.
"We haven't done that in years" Sebastian said, laughing a little.
"Yeah. Almost forgot what it was like" Michael smiled. Sebastian then kissed Michael. Michael kissed him back. Eventually, they forgot all about the movie and took the time they had at the moment to really catch up.
The last time Sebastian and Michael had been together together, was in 1983. After Chris's death at Fredbear's Family Diner, their relationship kind of broke off. William, who knew about their relationship, didn't exactly make things better. In fact, he would regularly bully Michael for it. Further justifying how unsupportive he was of Michael.
So after Michael and Sebastian lost contact with each other following what was dubbed 'The bite of 83', Michael kept his sexuality a secret and chose not to pursue any relationships with people. For the fear of being judged by people who had the same views his father had about it. Because even though he was seen as being brave and all, the one thing he was scared about was being judged. Mostly because of the bad experience he had as a teenager.
"Sebastian" Michael then said, pulling back slightly. Sebastian looked at Michael, curious what he was going to say. Michael opened his mouth, attempting to speak but hesitated. He bowed his head slightly, trying to think of how to explain what he was going to say.
"I'm sorry about what happened" Michael then said, lifting his head back up, his gaze falling back on Sebastians.
"What for?" Sebastian asked, confused.
"How things ended for us" Michael answered. Sebastians brow furrowed.
"Michael….none of that is your fault" Sebastian told him, putting his hand on Michael's shoulder and rubbing it gently with his thumb.
"You had no idea what happened to Chris, was going to happen. And you had no control over how your dad was treating you" Sebastian continued.
"For years I have been thinking it was my fault. All because I'm an Afton. And I'm the son of the Hurricane City Slasher" Michael sighed a little.
"You had no control over that, Mike" Sebastian told him.
"I know" Michael said, sighing again, bowing his head again.
"But….you want to know what I think about you?" Sebastian asked, smiling. Michael looked back up at him.
"I think you're an amazing person. Who even though has had a really rough past, has managed to stay strong through it all" Sebastian smiled. Michael smiled at Sebastians words.
"And now, you're taking care of two amazing boys. Who are happy and lucky to have you in their life" Sebastian added. Michael nodded, eventually looking down slightly. He took a little bit of a sigh before speaking.
"I just feel like…with what's going on with me…I'm failing to protect them. And you as well. And Freddy too" Michael said, looking back up at Sebastian.
"You're doing the best you can, Mike" Sebastian said.
"I know but…I just feel like its not enough" Michael said, standing up from the sofa. Sebastian stood up as well.
"You ok?" Sebastian asked.
"I'm gonna go and lie down for a bit. Is that ok?" Michael asked.
"Of course. I'll get started on organising dinner for tonight" Sebastian answered, pecking Michael on the cheek and then hugging him. Michael hugged him back.
"I'm really glad you're here, Sebastian" Michael smiled.
"Me too" Sebastian smiled back. Michael hugged him again and then walked off towards his room. Sebastian sighed a little before heading to the kitchen to start finding things to make for dinner.
As soon as Michael entered his room and shut the door behind him, he collapsed down onto his bed and was asleep within a few seconds.
LATER
While Sebastian was busy outside on the porch, doing his own thing, Michael was lying in bed, tossing and turning. He was suffering from a very vivid nightmare. In the nightmare, he was witnessing his siblings deaths and his mothers death. And after each of them died in front of him, they appeared before him, with the injuries that killed them, and began yelling at him. Taunting him. Demanding to know why he didn't save them when he had the chance. Michael of course knew this was his father trying to hurt him. But, the way his mother, sister and brother sounded, it felt like it was them telling him all those nasty things to him.
"Why couldn't you take the bullet instead Michael!?" Clara asked, staring angrily at Michael, who was cowering on the ground.
"You were so close to saving me! Why didn't you get there quicker!?" Elizabeth asked.
"Why did I have to die? Was it because so you could finally be an only sibling? I heard what you said before my death. How you wished that you were the only child so mom and dad could have you all to theirselves!" Chris growled.
"SHUT UP!" Michael yelled, looking at them as they approached him.
"Why did we have to die?" All three of them asked in unison as they stared down at Michael. Then, his father suddenly appeared in front of him. His appearance changing constantly. Looking like it was glitching. He went from wearing his Fazbear entertainment uniform to wearing the spring bonnie suit then back to his uniform. He soon gave a grin and chuckled evilly.
Michael suddenly woke up with a loud yelp. Panting heavily, he looked around, wondering if he was still dreaming or finally back in his room.
When he eventually realised he was no longer dreaming, he sighed slowly. Burying his head in his hands.
"I'm so sick of this" Michael said, shaking his head as he then swung his feet over the side of the bed and stood up. As he did, he felt a pain in his neck. Knowing this to be an unusual pain, he made his way to his bathroom to investigate.
As he turned on the light and looked in the mirror, he noticed black and purple glowing vein-like lines slowly moving up his neck.
"What the hell?" Michael questioned, wondering why this was happening. He quickly left his bathroom a short time later and grabbed his running shoes from his dresser. He was planning to go for a walk to see if it would somehow hopefully clear his head or something.
After slipping on his shoes and putting a jacket on over the shirt he was wearing, he left his room. Only to find Gregory and Sean sitting on the sofa. When they saw him, they immediately grew concerned. Mostly because of how much worse he had gotten.
"Mike? Is everything ok?" Gregory asked as Michael then made his way to the front door.
"I'm fine. I just need to go for a walk for a bit. To try and clear my head" Michael answered, opening the door.
"Didn't the doctor say you needed rest?" Sean asked, confused.
"I don't care what the doctor said" Michael huffed before leaving the house, closing the door behind him. Leaving Gregory and Sean confused and worried.
"What is going on with him?" Sean asked, looking at Gregory.
"I'm not sure" Gregory answered.
