After the events that occurred at the mega pizzaplex a few years ago; Gregory, now a teen, is starting high school. After spending so much time being homeschooled. While Gregory tries to make friends and such at school, Michael tries to be the best father he can be for Gregory. Despite the multiple hurdles thrown his way throughout the story.

10. Chapter 10

A FEW MONTHS LATER

Michael woke up with a small groan. His side still a little painful, he heard the sound of laughter. He climbed out of bed, dressed only in his pyjama pants and he opened the door of his bedroom. Peeking out and looking down the hall towards the living room, he saw Sean and Gregory playing a video game on the TV. And it was clear to him that they were playing a racing game. Mostly because Gregory and Sean were both saying things to each other like "I'm going to win!" And "Not if I beat you first, loser!". Michael smiled at that before closing his bedroom door and walking over to his dresser to get out some clothes for the day.

Once he was dressed, he walked out of his bedroom and headed into the living room.

"So, what are we playing?" Michael asked, sitting down on the sofa, next to Freddy and looking at the TV.

"Mario Kart 18. And I'm totally winning!" Gregory smiled being nudged by Sean.

"You are totally not winning! You can see that!" Sean laughed. Gregory nudged him back.

"Shush!" Gregory said. Michael laughed at seeing the boys playing the game together. Having fun and enjoying the time together.

"I do not understand this game" Freddy said.

"It's simple Freddy. It's a racing game" Michael smiled, looking at him.

"A racing game? Like Roxy Raceway?" Freddy asked. Michael thought about that. And to be honest, it kinda was like Roxy Raceway.

"Yeah. Just like Roxy Raceway" Michael continued to smile, looking back at the TV.

Then suddenly there was a knock at the door.

"I'll get it" Michael said, wondering who was at the door.

He walked over to the door and opened it. Grace was standing there.

"Hi Grace" Michael smiled.

"Hi Mr Afton" Grace smiled.

"Well come on in. No point in just standing outside" Michael continued to smile as he moved out of the way so she could come in. She walked in and Michael closed the door behind her.

"Hi Grace" Gregory smiled, looking at her. Which inevitably made Gregory distracted and made him lose the race against Sean.

"Yes! Beat that, Gregory!" Sean said loudly at his victory. Gregory looked back at the TV with a shocked face and then at Sean with the same expression.

"You only won because I looked away" Gregory said, putting the controller down.

"Yeah yeah! Still doesn't change the fact that I beat you" Sean smiled, laughing. Grace then sat down next to Gregory. Gregory looked at her and smiled.

"So, what are you guys playing?" Grace asked.

"Mario Kart 18. Wanna play?" Sean asked. She smiled and nodded almost immediately. Gregory then grabbed a third controller and handed it to Grace. Then, the three of them began playing together.

"I'm gonna go and make breakfast! Anyone hungry for bacon and eggs?" Michael asked, standing up.

"Me!" Gregory, Sean and Grace said at the same time. Michael smiled and chuckled a little at that. He then entered the kitchen and began making breakfast.
