The new hero's body does little against the void's frame beyond causing annoyance. Yet it does well in getting his attention. Leaving sentry on the ground, Void turns his sights to the new hulk.
"Oh." Void smirks at the view of Rage Corps Hulk.
"It seems Shadow Man needs to remind the green idiot of the pecking order again." He sinisterly claims.
"I guess I need to break all your bones." Void then takes another shape. Changing into a black mass as he charges at him like a wave of darkness. He plunges at the Hulk and the two begin their brawl.
Like a domino effect in play, the situations escalates as beings formidable as Titans clash within the humble delicate world of mankind, and the void turns his petty sights onto the thoughtless raging brute charging forward like a bull seeing the most antagonizing shade of neon crimson red. Blue Marvel, as well Carol and Tony, WERE about to reengage Bruce Banner, but the visual of an ocean of pitch black darkness challenging Atrocitus' brand new Red Lantern head-on is quite off-putting. No one wants to get swept up in that.
As Sentry lays in a crater as the two titans commence their battle, he takes notice of the unfamiliar young man nearby. "Sup?" He nonchalantly asks.
"You a new hero?" It's at this time that Konnence is pushing himself up off the ground, pausing within a kneeling position when he hears a voice from nearby. The young man looks over and sees The Sentry laying with an air of utter difference within a shallow crater. Of course, the two have never met before, but Konnence knows the other well enough to be aware of his potential to be one of the greatest indomitable forces within the Marvel comics.
"Me? Uh... Not exactly new, but I guess I am new in town." The 27-year-old responds before finally rising to stand. He levitates a few inches off the ground and floats toward the blonde, touching down again as he offers a helping hand.
"I'm Righteous Lad. Good to meet you, sir. Need a hand? You okay?" He introduces himself and prods on the other's wellbeing.
Sentry takes his hand and pulls himself up.
"Appreciate it, Righteous Lad." Says the Sentry. He's hunched over with his hands on his knees. He then points his thumb at himself.
"My name is the "Disputed Sentry". And that is the
"Tiresome Void." He then points at the dark presence facing off against the augmented Hulk.
"We have to stop this before the Void gets too irritated and decides to blow up the galaxy out of frustration."
Meanwhile, the Hulk is caught up in that tsunami of massive darkness. However, he's an entirely different beast than he ever was. It's impossible to see what was going on from the outside, but whatever it is, it's more than enough to get the Hulk drooling hot blood from his snarling mouth. Not from injury, but lava-hot levels of rage. With a clap of his hands together, that green-skinned Red Lantern generates a Shockwave so strong that it's enough to assault Righteous Lad's eardrums and make him grit in discomfort, and create a ripple through thin air that travels miles out over the seas. For a brief moment, the area near the impact shifts into a red tint as if reality itself was in danger of becoming disfigured. The Void finds himself being blown off of the raging beast, who then starts throwing wild punches at the formless mass of darkness.
The Void realizes he's underestimated this new Hulk. In the past, he could have easily broken the green behemoth. But now, he's been amped up by those mysterious enemies. Blood like plasma fire a from the behemoth's mouth as Void struck him.
The green behemoth retaliated by using a devastating thunder clap against the Void. Which caused a shockwave, which dissipated his shapeless form.
Blood dripped from Sentry's ears. As the sound brought about by the clap had been deafening to the Sentry. His super senses had taken a toll on his person. Similarly, Righteous Lad grimaces while clamping his hands over his ears. His hearing is abnormal, but not so much to be on par with the Entry's.
Void, enraged, takes on another shape of something akin to that of Godzilla. And the newly created beast charges at hulk and bit down on hulk's shoulder.
The behemoth of a lantern screams put in pain and as he's about throw a punch, Violet energy fires out from the Void's mouth and lances through Hull's innards. Incinerating some of hulk's organs.
While gradually recovering their hearing, the two JUST miss the gruesome sound of teeth sinking into flesh and the gushing of green blood leaving fresh deep wounds when the Void bites into the raging lantern within a miniature Godzilla-like form. A roar of pain erupts from the Hulk, and it only worsens when the Void discharges a some sort of violet energy that pumps right into the green giant's body, disintegrating various organs and causing remnants of that hostile energy to aggressively shine through the Hulk's eye sockets, nostrils, and even ears. It's enough to bring Hulk down, limp upon his knees and render him silent. Only momentary. Amplified by his red ring, Hulk does one of the most terrifying things he does best and returns from apparent death with unfathomable rejuvenation. Organs and all return, minus the bit being obscured by razor sharp teeth sunk into his flesh. Nonetheless, he rises back to his feet 3x more pissed than before, eyes fuming with intense crimson red as he reaches to pry his large hands between the Voids mouth and uses all of his building strength to open the shadow-lizard's mouth and dislodges fangs from his shoulder.
It's a sight that makes Atrocitus grin with wicked glee and his subordinates look on with shock and disbelief. There was only one to stop this. Konnence knew that very well. The question then becomes: Why were the Red Lanterns stalling?
With a glare of determination, Righteous Lad heads into the sky to confront the ones responsible for starting this whole mess.
The esoteric creature has become perplexed by the Hulk's surprising resilience. Yes, he has heard the rumors about the green dotards' supposed connection to the One Below All. Something that maybe perhaps, the "Angel of Death", himself, holds an association with. But these were mere assumptions. However, he doubts that this is the case for the Hulk's "new found strength".
Yes. He can be imprisoned. Yes. His light constructed form can vanish. But to be hurt. This scares the Void. He hadn't been scared since…
"No!"The Void refused to feel this again. He took a new shape. Transforming into a serpent, and bound himself to the Hulk. Squeezing as tight as he could. He could hear bones breaking within the behemoth's person. But tighter, he squeezed. The angrier Hulk had become. Resisting his strength.
Meanwhile, Sentry is still observing the battle.
"Wow! Void is gonna lose this." Sentry claims. He didn't seem nervous by this realization. Sentry seems indifferent to all of this. He's seen this all too many times before, after all.
"How did this even happen?" He wonders out loud, pointing his question to the Lad. But before he can get an answer, he finally notices that the young man has flown up into the sky toward a shady bunch.
"I guess…That's my answer." He says to himself before following in tow behind Righteous Lad.
Almost immediately the not-so-merry band of Red Ring Singers spot both Righteous Lad and Sentry approaching via flight and look upon the two with distrusting glares.
"You've got something to say to me, boy?" Atrocitus questions once enough distance has been cut off between the two parties to effectively exchange dialogue.
"Take him." Konnence simply states with a solemn frown. Though just merely two words, the demonic towering lantern arches a curious brow.
"So you know my intent... Regardless, I do not take orders from anyone, earthling. I will do what needs to be done when I'm good and ready." Atrocitus firmly responds.
"And we cannot afford to wait that long... Neither can you." The youthful young man warns.
"What are you on about? I have all the time in the world."
"You REALLY don't, though. Listen, those two guys fighting each other over there? They're omega-level threats. Do you know what that means? What that entails? I'm going to tell you what will happen... They will FIGHT until one of them gives in. And while they ro, they will--" K-K-KRRAAAAACSSSSSH!!
Before Konnence can finish that thought, the explosive impact of Hull's smashing into the ground interrupts him, and creates devastation within a single breath. The a massive crack begins splitting the ground in half and growing in both width length. It expands well into the city and the sight of buildings suddenly crumbling over and falling onto the makeshift pit created by the raging Beast of a man. Cars, street lights, screaming civilians, crumbling pavement all spill into that massive canyon of a orifice that splits the city in half. At the horrendous sight, and as the Hulk digs up the largest boulder he can from the fracturing ground, Righteous Lad pleads.
"They're going to destroy everything! You have to take him back with you, NOW!"
"Ha! And what, you think I should take pity on you? He is simply acting on his anger and frustrations. If he cannot restrain himself for the safety of his homeworld, then perhaps it too shall be a part of his vengeance. Now be gone from my sight!"
"So you'll let him punish innocent victims!?"
"I? No, you should be asking yourself that, boy! Will you idle by, flapping your gums, while your friends wreaks havoc on your planet?" Atrocitus counters with a smug grin. It's a response that spikes the hero's own blood with anger. But fighting wasn't the best solution at the moment. People were dying. Konnence takes a moment to glance over at the city, then returns his eyes back to the Lantern.
"...I'll make you a deal if you take him now." Konnence proposes, earning yet another questioning look from the other.
"A deal? What could you possibly offer me!?" Atrocitus barks. It's then Righteous Lad floats 5 meters away and beckons the Lantern over with a tilt of his head. Though annoyed, the ring bearer obliges and approaches the young man alone. He hunches over to lend a ear as the offer is whispered between them.
"What!? You expect me to believe you can DO such a thing, welp!?"
"I can..."
"What proof do you have!?" The lantern presses aggressively. With his broad and imposingly tall body obscuring view of Righteous Lad, a display of proof is indeed given, though only between the two of them.
"...I see. Very well, then." Atrocitus finally agrees.
"Then it's a deal?" Konnence asks.
"It is. You best hold up your end of the bargain, boy." And with those words, the two shake hands. It's then Atrocitus returns to his pack of followers and gives the command to apprehend their newest member. The group swoops down at the most opportune moment and combines their efforts to capture the Hulk with a large sphere of hardening blood and quickly take leave through a crimson portal to their destination. Just like that, the ordeal comes to an end.
"Thank goodness... Now I can help those people without worry." Righteous Lad exhales with relief.
