To The End
Chapter 23
"There is no reason why you can't come with us. Felix hasn't contacted me about making plans to see you." Brooke replied. Looking to her son.
"He sent me this box of keepsakes. He never forgot about me. He loves me." Bailey said.
"No he doesn't Bailey. He's all about what he needs and wants what keeps the image the life he lives looking perfect."
"And that doesn't include a kid from this town he had as a teenager."
"He's a business man. How would look to people he works with?"
"He doesn't want to be a father to you. I have nothing from him for you. All you're life. Birthdays. Holidays. I've always come back to Tree Hill."
"He left us. He left you" Brooke stated matter of fact.
"But he came back. I'm not going to hate him just because you do." Bailey replied. Before storming out of the living room and up the stairs to his bedroom.
Brooke sighed deeply. Looking to Lucas.
"I'm sorry you had to see that." Brooke said.
Lucas took her hand and kissed it.
"He has to see Felix for who he is on his own that's the only way he'll really accept that it goes beyond the made up version in his mind all these years."
"It's called CAMPER'S DELIGHT. I think he'll like it and i hope you do too." Lucas said. As he handed her an information pamphlet.
...
Days Later
Brooke looked up online what to pack to wear for an outdoor experience like this. None of this was a world she knew about and she looked forward to sharing it with Lucas because she was well aware how meaningful it was to him.
