Chapter 24

When i looked up the address when the box came from. I didn't know what i expected but finding that he lived close by was a relief and a challenge. Because i couldn't just find my way there.

Yet i tried after leaving school. Telling my mom i had some afterschool thing i had to stay late for.

I didn't like lying to my mom but she didn't give me a choice.

When it came to my dad.

I found myself a few houses away from the house i knew was his.

"Do you need a ride Bailey?" Lucas asked.

"I could of given you one if you called or texted." Lucas added in.

"I don't want or need you. Looking out for me or whatever." Bailey replied.

"It's my off day and i thought we could talk more about the trip."

"You're mom doesn't know i'm picking you up. She's really busy at the store now." Lucas explained.

"I really have to go. You shouldn't waste an off day hanging around waiting for me." Bailey insisted.

Bailey was relieved when Lucas took the suggestion and drove away.

Bailey took a deep breath. Went up the stairs and knocked on the door. He knocked twice after that.

More excited then he realized. The front door soon opening

Bailey found himself too nervous to talk seeing Felix again.

Yet he took a breath and started speak.

"Dad it means so much to me that you gave me that book of keepsakes. I want us to start over. Have a clean slate as father and son." Bailey said.

Felix didn't even look him in the eyes as he spoke.

"I've made it very clear publically that i have no children."

"You've wasted time and energy coming here. Please leave and don't come back." Felix replied. Shutting the door behind him.
