Birth of Evil

Everything went black in that one instant, suddenly Beryl's vision became flooded with images of the past, of the ancient's gods in the heavens and one entity stood out to her…Metaria.

Metaria was born of an affair between the darkness and a lowly human woman a demigod but was shunned by her father in favor of her sister's Hemera and Nyx the most beautiful of all the gods.

Over the years Metaria tried to earn her father's love but it was no use all his focus was on them, Nyx and Hemera and the more he loved them the colder Metaria's heart grew. It was bad enough watching the children of night and day flourish and grow he gave them everything while he shunned her as his daughter, the jealousy in her heart grew more and more as she witnessed the power her sisters wielded. She would have it all the power of the gods of Chaos himself and rule the cosmos she would show him she would bring down everything her father and siblings had worked for centuries to build she would have her revenge and in that moment, she knew what she had to do.

It had taken years of careful planning she trained every day, she let her power grow she learned to focus her anger and hatred and use it as a weapon, first things first strike a blow to her father's favorite child Nyx. She created an army full of men whose hearts she had darkened.

Metaria showed Beryl everything her planting the seeds of evil in the hearts of the people of earth how they turned on one another and how they turned on their leaders, she showed her the civil wars in Lunaris and how Queen Achelois used the crystal she was given by the void to lock her away beneath the earth in the arctic circle at the expense of her own life.

Beryl woke on the floor of the cavern, she got up slowly clutching her head when she turned around she saw the cloaked figure standing in the shadows "Now you know" the figure told her, "Now you see" she laughed Beryl narrowed her eyes "what is it you need me to do?" she asked the figure but she just smiled at her response.

Three Months Later…

"Focus, girl, focus your energy see your target and… attack!" a small blast of energy erupted from Beryl's staff "pathetic" said Beryl lamely. "I can't do this"

"This staff is an extension of yourself it channels your emotions it feeds on your hatred, now try again" said the dark figure. Beryl focused her mind again and once again a small blast of dark energy erupted from her staff. "You're not letting yourself feel, you're not giving into your hatred" said the dark figure.

"It's not as easy as it looks!" yelled Beryl and suddenly the figures were knocked back against the wall Beryl ran to her side apologizing profusely but the figure just laughed and congratulated the girl on her show of power.

"That's it, my Lady that is what I'm talking about do it again, focus and imagine" suddenly and image appeared in front of Beryl the image of the raven haired Lunarian princess.

"Look at her, look at her pretty little face" Serena's grey eyes locked with Beryl's as the figure fed her hatred and discontent with the princess

"She stole everything from you! She took the man you loved and bewitched him with her dark magic she is the reason, she will not rest until she has destroyed everything in your life, but you can win this my lady you could take everything from her just as she took everything from you all you have to do is give in, give in to the darkness in your heart."

Beryl's features contorted from the soft beauty to harsh lines and her brown eyes turned deathly orange and the slits of her eyes became narrow for all the beauty that she was, she looked like a snake as the darkness settled in her heart and suddenly the mountain began to shake with the force of Beryl's will. All you could hear was her dark cackle as the dark figure stood and smiled.

Lunarian Castle…

"Ah!" she woke with a gasp as the cackled faded into the darkness. Once again Rei woke to in the middle on the night it's been happening a lot more frequently in the last three months suddenly there was a knock at her door "Rei?" called a familiar voice. "Mina?" Rei called back still in haze, "Hey, you were talking in your sleep again did you have another premonition?" she asked looking worried

"Yes" responded Rei finally rousing from her sleep addled brain.

"What's going on?" asked another voice from the door way Mina turned then "she had another sleep premonition or whatever she calls them" Amy came to the room standing next to Mina.

"Anything new?" she asked Rei stood then walking over to the fireplace and with one flick of her wrist the fire ignited, she gestured for her friends to sit down with her.

"Yes" Rei responded their question "we need to gather the others" a few minutes later the rest of the guardian met in the high tower eager to listen to what Rei had seen.

"What did you see?" asked Amara "Lunaris turning on it self, brothers and sisters giving into the darkness in their hearts members of the royal families falling to that very same darkness I also saw our kingdom in ruins and a dark figure with a staff standing over someone, but I couldn't see who, something is blocking my power keeping me from seeing the full story there is dark magic in play here"

"How is it possible that someone can keep you from seeing, the amount of power that it would take to block your sight it's…" Lita drifted off unable to finish her sentence.

"Who could have such a power as to affect one of our own" asked Amy.

"The only ones powerful enough to shield a power like hers, are the old gods" interjected Amara.

"Why would the old ones even want to block out her power what don't they want her to see?" asked Mina.

"I don't think it is our gods who would want to block out her power" said Hotaru

"You mean Metaria?" said Amara

"Metaria has been locked away for millennium do you really think it's her?"

"There is no harm in checking is there?" asked Lita

"I can go to the mountains and check but if it is Metaria them we are in deep trouble what it took to imprison her… are we really ready to take that risk?" asked Trista, the other guardians looked at each other finally Mina spoke.

"What choice do we have?" "Go and get ready you leave immediately" Trista merely nodded her head and walked away disappearing as soon as walked through the door. "Better safe than sorry" said Amara and they all returned back to their quarters but try as she might Rei could not fall asleep.
