happy reading!

Training officially begins the next morning but Tomomi couldn't properly sleep as she kept hearing that ringing in her head. It sounded haunting and melodic at the same time. And everytime she tried to fall asleep, it got louder.

"Agh!" She groaned, tossing her blanket off of her body. Angrily, she got up and carefully walked out of the room to see if she can follow that sound. Looking back, she made sure the girls were still asleep as she quietly stepped into the hallway.

Slowly closing the door, she turned as the melody kept playing in her ear. "What is that?" She whispered, trying to look through the dark as she walked slowly down the hallway. "Hmmmm...whatever it is, I wish it would shut up."

"Good, you're already awake." A voice made her jump and almost attack it.

When she turned around, she saw Aizawa standing a couple of feet away from her. He was dressed completely but he was wearing a black coat and his hair was pulled back into a low bun.

"Get dressed now," He said, tossing something at her. "Me and you are going hiking."

Tomomi caught the object, which she realized was a dark blue umbrella. She knows it's not raining right now. Why does she need a umbrella?

"Come on, munchkin!" He said again, more demanding than before. "Daylight waits for no one."

Tomomi blinked a few times before doing as she was told.

Tomomi got dressed in black yoga pants, sneakers, a grey shirt and a black jacket as she and Aizawa had been hiking up a mountain near the campsite for about 45 minutes now. Daylight hadn't begin and she was beginning to wonder what Aizawa was planning.

"Why do we need umbrellas?" She asked in a huff.

"Where we're going, we'll need it." was all he said as they continued on. Tomomi rolled her eyes, feeling grumpy and tired. "Don't roll your eyes at me."

She sighed, resisting the urge to do it again. Her legs were sore and she just wanted to go back to sleep before training started. Not like she was getting any sleep in the first place.

After about 10 more minutes, the two made it to the top of the mountain. Tomomi looked at the view in complete awe. It was so beautiful. It overlooked almost all of the land. Suddenly, as she was enjoying the momentary peace, it started to rain heavily on her head.

Shocked, she quickly pulled out her umbrella and opened it, shielding herself from the water.

"That's why we need umbrellas." Aizawa said, standing next to her with one hand in his pocket and the other holding his black umbrella. "This overlook is called Eternal Rain. Ironic name, seeing as it is the beginning of summer."

Tomomi looked at him as he began telling her all about this overlook.

"This mountain has a myth to it." Aizawa said, looking over the entire campsite. "Millions of years ago, Okami, the Shinto deity of rain and snow, used this very spot as a crying spot. He was often saddened over the lives lost during war times so he caused an eternal rain storm to be casted over this very spot.

"Because he was so sad, people who came here often said that they felt an incredible amount of mourning and sadness. Rumor has it, everytime it rains here, it meant that a soul has passed to the afterlife. It became a historical landmark in the early 1940's. Nowadays, no one comes to visit since it's on private properly but the story is beautifully sad, don't you think?"

Tomomi looked out as the rain violently poured over them. It seemed like the area they were in was the only part that was raining. But her heart ached as she thought abou Okami and his story. How sad the dragon must have been to see people fight in war. Families being torn apart and lives being ruined.

"Why are you telling me this?"

"I brought you up here because, I want you to do something for me." Aizawa said, ignoring her question. "Stop the rain."

Tomomi looked at him as if he was insane. Was he really asking her this? "I can't control water." She replied. "I can only control ice."

"I didn't ask you about what you can control or not." Aizawa said back, peering at her from the corner of his eye. "Stop the rain."

"How am I supposed to do that?" She asked, feeling a little frustrated by his request.

"Temperature control," He answered. "I noticed that any liquids you are near or touching can freeze at an alarming rate. It's only logical to assume that means all liquids, including rain. So stop the rain."

Tomomi sighed, deciding to listen to him.

She stuck her hand out in the rain as she tried to focus on at least one rain drop. Her hand glowed light blue as she tried to freeze the rain. Only to come up short when nothing happened.

"It's not working." She huffed out.

But Aizawa kept his face neutral as the rain kept pouring over them and the entire top of the mountain. "Don't think about it." He instructed. "If you push yourself too much, you will fail and freeze yourself. So try again but this time, clear your mind of everything. Even act as if I'm not here."

She nodded, taking a deep breath. Clear mind...clear mind...She recited in her head, letting go the stress and the nightmares. Once she felt herself free from any stress, she began.

As soon as she stuck out her hand, all of the rain around them rapidly turned to ice. The frozen rain stopped in mid air as if it were stuck in time. Happy, she smiled and looked at Aizawa, who flashed her an approving grin.

Tomomi looked back and began moving her hand.

The rain started morphing to individual ice needles. She bent her wrist upwards, her palm facing her and the ice needles grouped together in the air, ready to be used.

"Now, you see that mannequin over there?" Aizawa said, gesturing to the mannequin all the way on the camp grounds. It was used for training purposes.

"Yes," She said, looking at it.

"I want you to hit it."

Tomomi sighed, her eyes zeroing in on the mannequin, which looked very tiny from where they were standing.

She moved her hand, making the thousands of ice needles ready itself in the air. With a light flick of her two fingers, the horde of ice needles zoomed past them at incredible speed.

They watched as it blotted out some of the rising sun and zoomed towards it's target. Most of the needles shredded the training dummy while some strayed off, hitting trees and such. Once the mannequin was punctured and torn to pieces, Tomomi nearly gasped at what she did.

Did she really do that? She didn't know she could do such an act. Her wrist suddenly hurt, making her wince and shake her hand as the rain began to lighten. The sun was beginning to rise above them.

"That's gonna happen when you're learning new techniques." Aizawa said, reffering to her hurt wrist. "With time, it will go away."

Tomomi glanced at him once more before looking back at the campsite. She wondered why he knew so much about her quirk? It felt like he wasn't telling her something and although it bothered her, she felt it wasn't her place to ask.

With a sigh, she wondered more about herself.

What else can she do?

Kurayami walked into the dark bar with his hood over his head, like usual. It was a sunny day, which he hated with a passion. He loved the night. And that's saying a lot because there wasn't much he actually loved or liked.

But he walked in and immediately walked over to the bar as Kurogiri turned to him, thinking he was another customer. He was thoroughly surprised to his face at his bar.

"Kurayami, long time no see." He greeted, cleaning a small glass. "You done sulking in your dark hole?"

"I rather be depressed and suicidal than a blind slave to an ashy kid." Kurayami teased back, causing the villain to chuckle.

"You can get away with being a sarcastic dick because I actually like you." He said, filling up the cup with ice and straight bourbon. He gave the cup of hard liquor to Kurayami. "What brings you here? You finally accepting Shigaraki's offer?"

"The day that I join anyone's side is the day this Earth implodes." Kurayami rejected, yet again. This was like the 34th time someone from their League brought up him joining.

Kurayami was always a neutral being. He wasn't evil nor was he all the way good. He saw the corruption on both sides of the fence and decided that both sides suck completely. So he stayed out of the ongoing cold war.

"You sen my incompetent, sad excuse of a little brother?"

"Hmm...he usually stops by around this time." Kurogiri said, looking at the time. "Why? I thought you hated your brother."

Kurayami picked up the glass and stood up from the stool. "Nothing, I just want to see him." was all he said as he went to a booth nearby the door. "Don't tell him I'm here. I want to surprise him."

Kurogiri chuckled under his breath as he went back to his cleaning. He had heard rumors of the rest of the Ishida brothers being fearful of Kurayami. Seeing as he was the strongest out of his family due to the type of quirk he has. So seeing Shimesu shiver in his inky black boots was certainly a sight to see.

About five minutes in and in came Shimesu walking in with his permanent smarmy grin. But he wasn't alone, seeing as two other followed him in. Kurayami recognozed both figures to be a little girl named Himiko Toga and a bi-polar villain named Twice. Not far behind him was Shigaraki.

There were other villains in the bar already but they seemed to not care about his presence.

"I've never been inside of a bar before!" Toga gasped as she looked at everything. "OOOOHH! So shiny!"

"Stop touching everything." Shigaraki said, already annoyed with his newest member.

"Kuro, if you will, a round of shots!" Shimesu said, leaning his elbow on the surface of the bar. "I just beat Toga's high score on Galaga. It's been a good day and I feel like getting drunk."

"Drinking destroys your liver!" Twice said, before he began talking to himself. "So is being a little bitch, Will you shut up for once? Make me, we're the same person!"

"You so got lucky!" Toga pouted, hopping on one of the stools. "I'll beat your score very soon."

"Please, you'd have to be this tall to measure up to me." Shimesu said, indicating on how tall he was over her. "Hate all you want, nothing will ruin my day."

"You sure about that, tentacles?" a very deep and gravelly voice immediately made Shimesu freeze. As he already knew that voice.

The same voice he both hated and feared so greatly.

Toga blinked when she noticed that he paused and had a petrified look on his face. "Hmm?" She hummed, looking for the source of the voice. Her eyes found a dark figure sitting lazily in a booth near the door, his hood was covering his face. "Who's that?"

Shimesu slowly turned around and looked at where the voice came from. His heart dropped when he saw his older brother lift his head, revealing his skull face from under the hood.

Kurayami's lips formed a tiny grin as he stood up from his seat and walked over to his brother. All eyes were now on him as Kurayami pulled down his hood, revealing his black hair, which was tied in a manbun and his entire face.

"Kurayami Ishida." Shigaraki said, smirking at him. "Aka, the Grim Reaper."

Kurayami grimaced at that name. "Tomura Shigaraki...I'd say I'm glad to see you but lying is bad for my health."

"Didn't know you can have bad health."

"A guy can dream to die, right?"

"What the hell are you doing here?" Shimesu cutted in, looking at his brother with ferocity in his eyes. "You think you can just leave our family and then reappear like nothing happened?!"

"Yeah." Kurayami answered his question, which only pissed him off.

But Shigaraki stopped the fight before it started. "Are you taking up my offer, finally?"

"In your fucking dreams." He replied back, sending a cold glare towards his way. "I'm actually here to warn you about something but since my pedophile, tadpole of a brother is here, this only makes it better."

"Warn us about what?" Shigaraki asked, suddenly curious.

Kurayami looked at everyone for a moment. Small insects, they were. If only they knew what was in store for them both in the future and very soon. It was almost laughable to watch.

"You continue your interest in one named Tomomi Todoroki and a life will be lost." He said cryptically.

Shimesu scoffed at him. There he was acting all cryptic again. Honestly, he needs a better hobby. "And why should anyone of us listen to you, skeleton?"

"You don't have to." Kurayami said, shrugging his shoulders and stuffing his hands in his pockets. "And I don't always give warnings but I was feeling very generous."

"What are you getting out of this?" Shigaraki asked, not entirely trusting his words. He had only heard stories of his quirk and his family so seeing one of the brothers here again was suspicious.

Given the fact that he doesn't assocciate himself with anyone. He didn't even really have friends like that.

Kurayami sighed boredly as he pushed back a few stray strands of his hair. "What I do is for free. I don't indulge in the seven deadly sins like you lot do."

He turned to leave the bar. But before he left completely, he paused and turned back around to his little brother. With a haunting smirk, he said, "If I were you, I would invest on a parka. You remember how terribly you do in in the cold."

He looked around the ceilings a little, as well. "And I would get that heater fixed soon. Don't wanna die of frost bite, right?"

With that, he left them to their thoughts.

"Woah..." Toga swooned, hearts in her eyes. "He's so handsome and cool~"

Shigaraki frowned a little at his words. What did he mean?

He knew he would have to be stupid to not head his warning. For everything Kurayami says, tends to always happen. And he wondered what the grim reaper had in store for them.

I'm gonna try to do long chapters
for this arc but no promises.

Kurayami's role in all of this is
like an all seeing eye or an oracle.

He's not there to make enemies,
he's only there to watch over life
and death.

But mostly, he's a domestic loner
who often wants to be left alone
due to the ways of the world.

But there is more to him than
just being the oracle of this book.

Aizawa and Tomomi spent the better half of training working on the mountain and fixing her aim on the first day. On the second, Tomomi and Shoto trained together. She wanted to show what she could do, with permission from Aizawa, and she wanted to teach him how to do it.

So there was a metal showerhead on the field and Tomomi set up a dummy a few feet away. For safety reasons, their area was a little further from the two classes. Tomomi didn't want to risk hurting anyone should this go terribly wrong.

Shoto turned on the water while Tomomi stuck out her hand, freezing the falling water in mid air, turning it into ice needles. Shoto watched with an amazed look as the cloud of ice needles floated and moved whenever his sister's fingers moved. As if it was her own personal army.

Tomomi turned to the dummy, narrowing her eyes at it. She took aim and flexed her two fingers towards the dummy, making the ice needles zoom past her in such great speed, it caused a small wind storm.

Shoto watched in awe as the needles shredded the dummy into pieces within a blink of an eye. Like it was a violent hailstorm.

Tomomi winced again, rubbing her wrist as a slight tinge of pain shot through her wrist. But nonetheless, she turned to Shoto with a smile on her face. " taught me how to concetrate and freeze moving liquids. I think it will be most useful for us to know."

"Cool..." Shoto said, a small grin gracing his lips. "Tell me how to do that."

So the twins spent most of the day practicing that move. After a while and many many errors, Shoto was able to do the move but his wrist would hurt a little everytime he did it. Which Tomomi told him that it was normal.

But he was able to do it without fail this time. His was much more aggressive than hers but the attack was the same.

"You wanna try sword fighting again?" Tomomi said, stomping her feet on the ground, making a tall pillar of ice rise right next to her.

Shoto smirked, doing the same move as his own ice berg rose up behind them. "Still mad that I won last time?"

"You got lucky." She replied back, in the same cocky tone he used.

The twins punched their hands through the ice at the same time. They pulled out a katana made out of pure ice and began attacking each other. Their sparring gathered attention from the other students.

With every hit of their ice sculpted weapons, loud noises shards of ice flew everywhere.

"Wooow~" Mina gasped in awe, her eyes sparkled as the twins kept doing acrobatic movements. "So cool..."

"It's like the Sport's Festival all over again." Kendo said, also in awe of the twins.

She remembered watching their fight during the festival and even she was in pure awe of their fighting styles. They were attacking and fighting each other like they were enemies but not hard enough to damage each other severely.

Kendo had always been curious with the son and daughter of Endeavor ever since she heard who their father was and that they were attending on a reccommandation from the school. Which usually meant they were very special. Not many students were asked to join such a prestigious school so to find out that they were apart of that small percentage was both shocking and, at the same time, not that unexpected.

Given who their father is. Of course, they would be very strong.

After a hard's day of training, it was time for dinner. So the students all cleaned up and dressed more casually for dinner. Seeing as it was going to be held outside. But there was one problem ( or not)...

"You're making us cook?" Tomomi said, looking at Pixie Bob like the hero was an idiot of epic proportions.

"Yup, human ice cream machine!" Pixie-Bob said, as cheerful as she usually is. "Now, remember what I said yesterday? This is the only time we will be doing this for you."

Tomomi glowered at her a bit, not appreciating the comedic nickname at all. "Please don't call me that again."

"At least make your own food!" Ragdoll laughed girlishly. "You all look exhausted! But that doesn't mean you can't make any old sloppy cat food!"

"I'm beginning to think this is a prison and not a training camp." Shoto mumbled to his sister.

To which, she sighed, tossing her hair behind her as she crossed her arms. "Two days tops and we break out?"

Shoto thought about it for a second before answering her. "Mmmm...Too risky." He whispered, looking at the other students. "Too many witnesses."

"COME ON, TWINS! WE MUST MAKE THE BEST CURRY THIS WORLD WILL EVER KNOW!" Iida yelled at them from where the entire set up was.

The twins sighed simutaneously making the same bored expression right at the same time.

"Simpletons." They said in unison before walking over to them.

Bakugou was helping Sero and Kirishima set up the table while the others were gathering everything to cook when he paused to look at Tomomi. She was in the middle of fixing her hair.

He watched as she slowly gathered a good amount of her white hair on both sides, braiding both sides into two big and loose french braids, tying the rest in a low ponytail with a light blue scarf as a hair tie ( look in the media for the reference ). The red part was showing way more now.

She looked so beautiful, it was almost unreal to believe that not that long ago, he didn't even like the girl. And here he was...Thinking about her at night, when he woke up and admiring how pretty she was.

He had always thought she was pretty. Any fool would be blind if they didn't immediately notice how beautiful she is when meeting her for the first time. He could see why she was so popular with the boys in U.A.

Tomomi, though she didn't know it, had an effect on people. He didn't know if it were her glowing, ice like blue eyes or her sweet smile that traps everyone in but it some how worked on him. And now here he was, a fool in love. Like the rest of this school.

And as much as he wanted her to be his...He couldn't find it in him to let him fall into that situation. Bakugou had a goal and that was to be a hero. The best hero. The number one hero.

Though he has come to terms that he is in love with Tomomi, his goals and pride stopped him from wanting to express that to her. Besides, someone lik her...deserved better than what he could do for her.

"Bakubro." Kirishima brought him out of his thoughts.

Bakugou blinked, not even noticing that he was staring into space. Seeing as Tomomi has long moved on to talk to Momo and Jirou, who was helping with carrying everything they needed outside.

"You've been staring at her for about 3 minute and you haven't even uttered that many words to her since we got here yesterday." The red head says, placing mats on the table. "She's beginning to think something's wrong with you and she's worried."

"Hmph! what do you know?" Bakugou grumbled, resuming his task. There was a moment of silence between them before the ash blonde decided to speak to him. "Look...It's been complicated, okay?"

"What's so complicated about it, bro?" Kirishima asked, glad that he wanted to talk about this. "She makes you happy, right? What's wrong with being happy?"

"I can't be happy while working towards my goal." He replied, frowning at his own words. He pushed that uncertain feeling back as he talked again. "And love will only get in the way of that...I can't have any distractions or I will lose sight of what I want. Besides...she can do way better than me, like I said."

Kirishima sighed in annoyance as he looked at his friend with a deadpanned look. He really wished that Bakugou could let himself relax and enjoy the little things in life. But he was super stubborn and prideful. Kirishima believed that those two traits will be his downfall.

"Look, I'm not...trying to tell you what to do or how to feel." Kirishima started carefully. "I just want to see you happy, man...You should tell her how you feel before something happens and it's too late...And you don't want to wait too late or you'll lose her...Is being the best worth it when you lose the one you love?"

Bakugou paused as his red haired friend was finally done setting up the table. He watched as he walked away. Bakugou pursed his lips while Kirishima's words echoed in his head.

Is being the best worth it when you lose the one you love?

Was it really worth it? Of course, it was! He spent his entire life being told that he would be doing great things. Everyone told him that he was the best and that he will be the best. So much so that he began believing it. He began shaping himself into being what everyone told him he would be.

And he didn't want to let that go away. But...Nevermind, Kirishima didn't know what he was talking about.

With an inaudible sigh, Bakugou kept placing napkins on the table. Deciding to push away those thoughts for now. He had the rest of summer to decide if he wanted to tell her or not.

When Sero asked Bakugou to light the stove up, he clearly didn't think that through. Because when he did it, the stove exploded and they had to get a new one. This time, he asked Shoto to do it. Which he did, thankfully.

"What did we learn?" Tomomi asked, placing her hands on her hips, staring at Sero with a scolding look.

Sero sighed, bowing his head down like a child in trouble. "Remember that Bakugou makes things go boom and I should have asked Shoto first."

With a tiny smile, she pat the top of his head gingerly. "Good, you've learned your lesson."

After she walked away, Sero smiled slowly. He had gotten a pat on the head from Tomomi! Oh, Mineta and the rest were gonna be so jealous.

Tomomi went to help cook with the others. She was a decent cook. Not super skilled but she would survive on her own if she lived by herself. She just couldn't chop and mince vegetables properly. Or fast enough for a certain blonde kid, who was chopping up vegetables like he was a highly skilled chef.

But no matter, she was paying more attention to the onion she was supposed to cut amongst three others. Apparently, she wasn't cutting it right and it irritated Bakugou, who happened to be right next to her.

He kept peering at her cutting skills and it annoyed him because she wasn't fast enough and she was slicing it wrong. Because he was a perfectionist, he stopped his task to help her.

Tomomi was minding her business when she suddenly felt someone's chest on her back. Freezing, she paused as she looked down to see hands larger than hers cover both of her hands.

"You're doing it wrong, Frostbite." He mumbled to her, positioning her hand to hold the knife right and helping her hold the onion correctly with his other hand.

Blushing, Tomomi felt his arms around her and she realized just how warm his hold really was. His hands, though they looked rough, were actually very soft and a little hot on the palms. He also smelled really good.

Like cologne, nature and gardenias. It was a pleasant mix she will never forget, surely.

Bakugou guided her hands, making her slowly chop the onion. Teaching her how to do it properly. "You're supposed to cut the top and bottom, first." He mumbled, his voice seemingly getting huskier the lower his voice got. "Place your finger tips like this...and hold it down so that it won't slip away."

Tomomi was caught in a mini daze as she looked at him over her shoulder. He looked so calm and concetrated. The sunset was shining just right on his face and Tomomi realized just how...beautiful Bakugou truly was.

And it wasn't the physical part she was talking about. She was talking about all of the things they have talked about over the phone, the day they first hung out, everything. He truly was a beautiful person and she found it sad that he feels like he has to hide his true self behind a facade he puts up for everyone.

She wishes everyone saw Bakugou the same way she did. They wouldn't think he was this angry, tough, brute anymore if they saw what she sees.

Bakugou turned to see that she was staring at him. He felt himself stare into her eyes once they were locked. His eyes flickered from her eyes to her lips and back. There was nothing he wanted more than to kiss her now.

His heart screamed at him to say something. Anything! He wanted to tell her how he loved her and have her be his. She fitted perfectly in his arms and there was nothing better than what he was looking at right now.

But...

Bakugou cleared his throat, stepping away from her. "G-Get it right, dumbass," He stuttered out, beginning to walk away. "I won't be around to always help you with things like this..."

Tomomi looked as he walked away, looking very troubled with himself. It bothered her to know something was messing with him and she didn't know what it was, exactly. And it hurt her to think that maybe Bakugou didn't trust her like she believed he did.

While everyone was still eating or just talking, Tomomi walked into the forrest to clear her mind. She soon found a small creek with a rocky surface near the shore. The camp wasn't too far behind so she decided to sit on a big rock and reflect.

It seemed like everyday, it gets more and more bizzare. She looked out at the sunset, fiddling with her hands as she had a flashback play in her head. About the day before Touya was gone.

Little Tomomi walked by a seperate room in her home when she heard crying coming from the inside of it. Stopping, she slowly looked into the room's cracked door and saw her oldest brother in that room.

His bandaged arms were covering his crying face as he sat down on the floor. Tomomi, not fully understanding what was going on, slid the door open all the way and walked in.

"Touya?" She said, blinking as she tilted her head to the side. "Touya-niichan, are you sad?"

Touya shot his head up to see his baby sister standing in front of him with a curious and innocent look. Quickly wiping his tears away, Touya straightened his back. "T-Toto! What are you doing here? Dad could be angry that you're in here!"

"You were crying." She said, placing her small hands on his face. His mildly scarred face. She softly wiped a stray tear from his cheek.

"Do you like hugs?" She suddenly asked, smiling a little. "Fuyumi-neechan showed me this movie...Uh...I forgot the name but it had a snowman who likes warm hugs! And I learned that warm hugs fix everything~"

Touya smiled through his broken state, moving a hair out of her face. He really appreciated her innocence. Her smiles she still seemed to keep even at the worst of times.

"Tomomi." He said, pulling her into a gentle hug. Tomomi circled her little arms as best as she ould around his neck, snuggling in his shoulder.

"...Whatever happens..." He said, holding back a sob that threatened to escape. "Don't ever lose your light...Please...don't ever stop smiling."

"I won't stop smiling." Tomomi said, raising her head to look at him. All while flashing that innocent smile he loved so much. "If I smile enough, then everyone will be happy!"

Touya, holding back more tears, smiled sadly at her as he placed a kiss on her forehead, hugging her again. This time, he let the tears flow freely.

"I love you, Tomomi...Thank you...Thank you for always being the reason I still breathe..."

She had no idea that was the very last time she would ever see her brother ever again.

"Hey!" a voice made her come back to reality.

Tomomi looked behind her to see Kota standing a few feet away from her. He had an unsure expression but he also looked rather curious.

"Hello." She greeted, smiling kindly at him. Which made him blush and look away, in fears that she saw him act shy.

"W-What are you doing by yourself here?" He stuttered out aggressively, stuffing his hands in his shorts pocket.

"Just thinking." She said, looking back at the sunset.

Though silence fell in between them, she could feel his curiosity behind her. So she moved to the side a little, patting the space she left open. "Care to join me? Sunsets are rather peaceful to watch."

Kota looked at her with an unreadable look before deciding that he could trust her. So he walked down the small slope and towards the line of rocks near the water. He climbed up and sat right next to her and stayed silent for a while.

The silence wasn't awkward or anything. It was just silence. The only things that could be heard were the birds and the current of the creek. It was peaceful and calming.

"Do you want to know something?" Kota suddenly asked, looking at her.

Tomomi glanced at him from the corner of her eye, letting a small grin grace her lips. "Sure."

"You remind me of this character in a book Mandalay let me read." He said, remembering the book. "There was this girl...She was born from a god and she ruled over the northern winds and snow, like you...her name was..."

Kota began struggling with a name and the sight was too cute to Tomomi. The way his little face frowned and everything. But she let him try.

"Ummmm...K-Kheonie or something?"

"Khione." She corrected calmly. "She is the goddess of snow. Greek Mythology."

"Yeah!" Kota said, smiling a little. "Khione. You remind me of her and...stuff."

He got shy again, looking away from her. Tomomi looked at him and smiled. "I noticed that you don't like Heroes."

"It's not just them." Kota said, bitterly. "Heroes and Villains...giving each other stupid names and killing each other...Quirks and stuff...what good is that when you're gonna die anyway? You can't save everyone..."

By the way he spoke, she could see he had something happened to him for something like this to come from his lips. He looked sad for a second as he looked down at his hands. "No one can save everyone so why bother?"

"Mmmm..."She hummed. "...I don't know what happened to you for you to feel this way but I just want you to know that...Whatever you are feeling will only stay temporarily."

Kota expected her to defend herself with the classic 'Not all heroes are bad' or 'You should have more faith.' He didn't expect her to say anything like that.

"I lost a brother when I was just about your age." She revealed, making him look at her with wide eyes. "There was a fire and...no could save him...And for a while, I believed that heroes...They couldn't be that good at their job."

Kota kept listening to her story with intrigue and a hint of sadness in his eyes.

"Because if they couldn't bring back my brother...What was the point?" She revealed, looking out at the sunset again. The sun was getting lower. "But I remember what my mom said...A hero isn't someone who wears fancy clothes or capes...A hero is anyone you see as a hero...And ever since then, I realized that heroes don't just try to save people, they are the hope when all hope is gone...They are the strength when others are weak and you don't need a fancy name or cape, you don't even need a quirk...You may not be able to save everyone but you can same someone's life...One day at a time."

The little boy's eyes glowed with wonder and amazement as Tomomi turned and smiled at him gently.

"You see, Kota, no one has the capacity to save every single person's life but you can go to sleep knowing you made one person's life a little bit better...and that's something to live for, right?"
