-Chapter 3 - Saving Kangaskhan-

.
Me and Red stood there and watched as Professor Oak left the building.
Once he was gone, we looked at each other with a small smile before getting out of the building with our new Pokémon.
On the way back to Viridian City, we could see two familiar figures talking to each other.
When we took a better look who it is, we- no Red was surprised to see his mum was here.
"Mum!" Red says in surprised.
Meanwhile, Mayla didn't seem to notice her son's presence and look at Professor with a gloomy face.
"I see... Yes, I understand, Professor. Can I just speak to my son privately?" Mayla said.
"Yes, I understand." Professor Oak said, and he then turned to look at us after noticing our presence.
"Good luck in your journeys, Red and Crimson. I'll be in my lab if you ever need me." Professor Oak said.
""So long, Professor."" Both me and Red said at the same time, he chuckled before leaving.
Red then turned to his mum with a sadden face.
"Mum... I gotta tell you something that will probably upset you." Red said.
"I always knew this day would come here where you're independent enough to go on your own journey. I just want to know whether you're ready to take care of yourself." Mayla said with a small tear as she wipes it off.
"Mum... I am ready! Plus, I won't be ever on my own! Crimson is there with me. I.. No, we want to be great Trainers!" Red said and Mayla smiled at his son.
"Hahahahaha... Like father, like son..." Mayla said with an amused yet sad face.
"Red, go make mummy proud!" Mayla said with big smile.
"You serious? I can go?!" Red said with a huge smile on his face, not believing his mother would let him go on a journey to become a great Trainer.
"Of course! Even if I had said no, you would've secretly gone on your own journey along with Crimson anyway. Isn't that right, Crimson?" Mayla said as she looked at me a smile.
Shit... I've been exposed.
"And I just want you to be safe, okay? If you ever need anything, just know that mummy will be waiting for you back at Pallet Town. Good luck, Red and Crimson." Mayla said as she turned her attention towards his son.
"... Thanks, mum..." Red said with small smile.
Red then turned towards me.
"Crimson, I'll be just going to the PokéCenter, wait for me alright?" Red said as he went off, running.
Mayla then looked at me with saddened face, hidden by a small smile.
"Crimson... Could you please promise me to take care of Red whenever I'm not around? He's a troublesome little kid, but he's a good boy. I just... I just want my baby boy to be taken care of when I'm no longer around..." Mayla said with a sadden smile.
I looked at her and felt small tug on my heart and it wasn't any good.
In the game, she originally died and that led to Red's depressive state but he overcome it after a few days but never gotten back to his old self after then, making him a lot more mature. In other words, she's just a part of Red's character development.
Watching it and seeing it in real life, I don't think I could ever take her death without ruining Red's character development.
Is there any way to change Red without Mayla getting killed..?
With a folded fist, I looked at her and nodded my head.
"Of course, Aunt Mayla. I won't let anything happen to Red, he's in good care." I said and she nodded at me with a small smile.
"Thank you... And Crimson, you should tell your Mom that your leaving. She will probably flip, if she doesn't know anything about this." She said as chuckled at the thought of Anne getting mad when she finds out her daughter was gone.
With a nervous smile, I nodded at her words.
"Of course, I'll tell her right away." I said.
"Alright then, why don't we go back together? I was going back to Pallet Town anyway, after our conversation." She suggested and I nodded my head.
On our way back to Pallet Town, I can't help but promise myself to prevent her death even if I get hurt... Or killed in the process.
As long as it'll help Red and save Mayla, I'll do anything just to make that dream into reality.
When we got back to Pallet Town, me and Aunt Mayla went separate ways.
I looked towards my house and gulped down nervously.
I hesitantly knocked on the door and I heard a faint 'coming' and loud footsteps.
When the door opened up, my mum Anne stood there with my two other cousins in the back.
"Ah Crimson, you're back! Where have you been? Were you with Red?" She asked as she let me in our house.
I looked at her nervously and she seemed to notice this.
"Crimson? Did something happened?" She asked worryingly.
I looked at her and took a breath.
"Mum... I have something to tell you and I don't think you'll like it, but... I wanted to go on a journey along with Red! I wanted to be a great Trainer, just like Dad was. And so, Professor Oak gave us, me and Red an opportunity to become great Trainers. So please, Mum." I said with pleading eyes and she looked at me before sighing with a smile.
"I'm glad you asked me beforehand, and before running off without telling me. You know you're allowed to be a Trainer if you wanted to, no one is stopping you from that Crimson. And dear, please be safe on your journey. I don't want anything happening to you." She said and I looked at her with a smile before engulfing her into a hug.
"Thank you...!" I said.
"Alright, before you go. You must pack your things up, you must be already ready whenever you go on a journey." She said and I nodded my head.
I went towards my bedroom, upstairs. On the way, I could see Elaine and Chase fighting for something.
I quickly went behind and asked them 'what's up'.
They both jumped up in surprised since they didn't notice my presence at all.
"Crimson!" Elaine said as she jumped towards me and I caught her successfully.
"Hey there, shortie." I said and she glared at me playfully before hitting me lightly.
"Shortie..." Chase snickered and Elaine quickly got out of my hold before tackling Chase into a fight.
"Hey hey, no fighting.. Arceus... Who would be taking care of you two when you're fighting all the time.." I said with a sigh.
The two of them looked at me in confusion.
"What do you mean by that, Crimson? Are you going somewhere?" Chase with a frown.
"Are you leaving us..?" Elaine said as she stopped pulling his brother's hair.
"Yeah... But only for a while, when I'm back we could make up the time we missed." I said with a small smile and they all nodded before hugging me.
"Hm, what's this about?" I said as I looked at the two of them.
"Our last hug together, before you leave." Chase said and Elaine nodded her head.
"Okay, then. Despite you two being 3 years younger than me, you could always act like little babies sometimes." I said with a laugh, and I earned a small slap from Elaine.
"Shut up..." Elaine said with a puffed up cheeks and me and Chase laughed at her face.
"Alright, then. I'll be packing up some things. And please take care of Mum when I'm not around, alright?" I asked the two of them and they gave me a salute.
"""Aye!"" They said in unison.
I chuckled at the of them before going to my room.
When I got in my bedroom. I looked at the whole room with a sadden face.
"Guess I'll be missing my bedroom more..." I said to myself as I took out a black backpack and started to put in my clothes, toothbrush, and etc.
When I finished packing up, I looked backed to my room before going out.
I locked the door of my bedroom and went down stairs to see my two cousins talking with mum happily.
When they finally noticed me, my two cousins surrounded me.
"You didn't told me you'll becoming a Trainer, cuz!" Chase said excitedly.
"Yeah! Do you plan to become a Pokémon Champion?" Elaine said and I shook my head no.
"No, I only want to explore and find out what it is to be great Trainer. Becoming a Pokémon Champion has a lot of responsibilities and pressure, but being Trainer is enough for me. I just want to explore different regions, if I wanted to." I said.
"I see, so cuz just wanted to be great Trainer. But.. Isn't becoming a Champion a great Trainer?" Chase said. I chuckled at him before ruffling his hair, which he gently slapped away my hand.
"There are many ways to become great Trainer, other than becoming a Champion. And I want to know what it is." I said.
"Oh... Then, I want to be great Trainer as well!" Elaine said.
"Me too! And when I do become a great Trainer! I'll defeat you fair in square Crimson! That's a promise!" Elaine and I laughed at him, amused.
"Of course, Chase! And Elaine too, I hope the three of us could have a great battle." I said and they all nodded.
I then turned my attention towards Mum who was smiling at our interactions, between cousins.
"Mum... I'll be leaving then." I said.
"Of course, take care alright?" She said and I nodded my head.
I then proceeded to go towards the door and I was stopped by her.
"Wait-! Before you leave... Please wear this at least. Your father always used to wear this, back when he was a Trainer at your age. Now I want you to wear this for yourself." She said as she put the cap on my head.
I looked at her and smiled.
"Of course. Goodbye mum." I said and she waved goodbye with a sadden smile.
When I got out of the house, I could see Mayla walking towards my direction.
"Aunt Mayla, is there something wrong?" I asked and she shook her head.
"No, but I do have a favor. Could you please give this to Red? He forgot to pack his things up before he'll leave on a journey with you." She said as she handed me Red's yellow backpack.
I took the yellow backpack from her hand and nodded at her.
"Of course, is there something else Aunt Mayla?" I said and she shook her again.
"No, that's all. And thank you Crimson, I know putting all this responsibility and pressure into you must be a burde–" I quickly cut her off.
"No it's not, plus I understand what it's like be worried for your son. And Aunt Mayla, it's not a burden at all." I said and she nodded her head.
"But still..." She said.
"No, you don't have to worry about that." I said and she nodded.
"Alright then, I guess you should go. Red is probably waiting for you for some time by now." She said and I nodded my head.
"Mm.. I'll be going then, Aunt Mayla." I said and she waved off goodbye.
On my way towards Viridian City, I could here a distant yelling from behind me and saw Professor Oak running and calling out to me.
"Crimson!" He shouted as he pants heavily from running.
I stopped walking and waited for Professor Oak.
Once he was finally in front of me, he kept panting and looked at me with an awkward yet nervous smile.
"Ah, Crimson.. I have.. Something to give.. You.." He said as kept panting between words.
"What is it, Professor?" I asked curiously.
He then took out something from his coat and showed me band with a stone engraved in the middle.
"This is...?" I looked at the band in his hand in confusion.
"This is an Aura Band, it is made for people who has Aura with them. I have a stack of them back in my lab, giving it to Trainers who has Aura." He said and I took the band from his hand.
I examined the band in awe and I also noticed that the band also looked a lot like the Mega Cuffs.
"Why don't you try putting it on?" He said and I did what he asks.
I put the Aura Band on, and the stone reacted to my Aura, shining a bright light.
"Thanks a lot, Professor." I said as I looked up at him and with a small smile.
"No need to thank me, plus you need that Aura Band to keep your newfound powers in check. Anyways, I'll see you another time, Crimson." He said as he went back to Pallet Town, to his lab.
I bid him goodbye and I looked at the band on my wrist and smiled slightly.
I then remember Red has been waiting for me for some time now.
Crap.. I need to go now!
I said to myself in my head as I started to run back to Viridian City.
When I was finally in Viridian City, my first thought of where Red should be waiting was in the PokéCenter.
And I was right, I could see Red inside in the building from the window looking very bored.
I laughed a bit from his appearance and decided to show my presence now.
When he heard the door of the PokéCenter opened, he raised his head slowly and his eyes got wide before jumping up from his seat in vigor and ran towards me.
"Crimson! Where were you?! I've been waiting for you for so long!" He said as he huffed at me.
"Sorry, I have to tell my family I'm going on a journey, and Aunt Mayla asked me to give you your bag." I said as I gave his backpack to him.
He then noticed the cuff on my wrist and pointed it out.
"What's that on your hand, Crimson?" He said and I raised my right wrist to show him the band clearly.
"Professor Oak gave this to me for my Aura." I said and he stared at it in awe.
"Woah.. Hey, Crimson? What does Aura feel like when you use it?" He said out of curiosity.
"Hmm.. I can't tell but I felt a sudden power and strength grew in me when I used it." I said and he nodded his head.
"Must be cool to use Aura.. Anyways, let's go to Viridian Forest!" He said out loud as he dragged me out of the PokeCentre.
"Alright, but no dragging. I hate it." I said and he laughed.
"No promises!" He said with a smile and I rolled my eyes at him playfully.
"Hey, I know a shortcut to Pewter City. Let's go!"
He dragged me with him. Again.
We then stopped to a halt when we saw multiple Officer Jenny trying to move an old man.
"What the... What is happening over there?"
Red said as he scratched his cheek.
"Don't know.."
Martha's blocking the shortcut...
"Sir, you have to leave! You are blocking the way to Pewter City."
Officer Jenny said in an annoyed tone.
"How dare you tell me to leave!! I am god's gift to humanity!!"
"Let's just go to the other path."
I said and he nodded his head.
On our way to Pewter City by using the Gate, we were stopped by a female with brown hair with green headband and a dress.
"Oh good! I caught up with you two!! Pleased to meet you, Red and Crimson. I'm Daisy. I'm Professor Oak's granddaughter." She said.
Green's sister.!
I thought, and my face were now covered in small tinted pink.
𝘎𝘶𝘦𝘴𝘴 𝘐'𝘮 𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘭𝘭 𝘪𝘯𝘵𝘰 𝘸𝘰𝘮𝘦𝘯... 𝘑𝘶𝘴𝘵 𝘣𝘦𝘤𝘢𝘶𝘴𝘦 𝘐'𝘮 𝘢 𝘨𝘪𝘳𝘭 𝘯𝘰𝘸 𝘥𝘰𝘦𝘴𝘯'𝘵 𝘮𝘦𝘢𝘯 𝘐 𝘸𝘪𝘭𝘭 𝘢𝘶𝘵𝘰𝘮𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘤𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘺 𝘭𝘪𝘬𝘦 𝘨𝘶𝘺𝘴 𝘧𝘳𝘰𝘮 𝘯𝘰𝘸 𝘰𝘯... 𝘞𝘢𝘪𝘵.. 𝘋𝘰𝘦𝘴 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘮𝘢𝘬𝘦 𝘮𝘦 𝘢 𝘭𝘦𝘴𝘣𝘪𝘢𝘯??
I thought as if a new information just struck me.
𝘐 𝘥𝘪𝘥𝘯'𝘵 𝘬𝘯𝘰𝘸 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘗𝘳𝘰𝘧𝘦𝘴𝘴𝘰𝘳 𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘯 𝘩𝘢𝘥 𝘢 𝘨𝘳𝘢𝘯𝘥𝘥𝘢𝘶𝘨𝘩𝘵𝘦𝘳...
Red thought as he stared at the woman in front of him.
"My grandfather forgot to give you two these Pokéballs. He is so forgetful." She said as she gave us 5 Pokeballs, each for me and Red.
"Thank you for helping my grandfather with his research. He is getting old. He can't travel like you two, so agreeing to help him fill up that Pokédex is really nice." She said.
"it's our pleasure, plus we wanted to return the favor for completing his dreams of fulfilling and the Pokédex since he also helped us." I said.
"Yeah, and getting to know more about Pokémon is also fun since there's a lot to learn more about them. After all, a Trainer should always know more about their Pokémon!" Red said.
"Now I know why my grandfather trusts you with his Pokédex and Pokémon... Anyways I'll see you two around!" She said as she walked away.
Red then looked at me and smiled slyly.
"I didn't knew professor has a granddaughter, especially a hot one.." He said as he nod at himself.
"Let's just go.." I said as I grabbed him by the ear.
"Wait-! Oh my Arceus! Look Crimson!"
I stopped walking and looked at the direction where his finger is pointing.
Isn't that..
"She's not moving! Is she dead?"
Red looked horrified as he stared at the old woman.
"Idiot..!"
I slapped the back of his head.
"Argh..!"
He yelped as he hold his head.
"Who are you calling dead?!"
"S... Sorry!"
"You'll pay! You WILL pay!!"
"Come on, let's go.."
I said as I dragged him by the ear.
"Sure- Ahh!"
-Later-
We were walking around in the forest while Red was rubbing his red ear.
"You didn't have to pull so hard..." He muttered.
"What?" I said and shook his head rapidly.
"Nothing, just saying how long it's gonna take for us to arrive in Pewter City." He said with a nervous smile.
Liar. I heard what you said...
I looked at him with narrowed eyes before sighing.
I remember that a certain boy and a certain Pokémon are here somewhere.
While I tried to look for any signs for Green I heard a noise of a Pokéball sending out a Pokémon.
I turned around and saw Poliwhirl out from his Pokéball.
"Just letting him out, since I don't want him to stay locked in his cramped up Pokéball." Red said and I nodded my head.
I decided to let my two Pokémon out as well and when I did, they quickly hopped onto my shoulder.
"Do you really like sitting on my shoulder that much?" I said and Pikachu gave me happy noises, while Riolu just gave a firm nod.
-1 Hour Later-
"Gahh!! I'm so tired of walking!! This will take forever!!" Red shouted as he fell to the ground with his Poliwhirl patting his back.
"Let's just continue so it'll be faster.." I said and he groaned loudly.
-2 Hours Later-
"Crimsooonn... Why don't we take a break first.." Red said as he continued to drag his tired legs.
I looked at him and sighed, I don't want to push him to walk any longer with that state of his anyway, I just want to know how long he can last longer.
"Alright, anyways I brought some food when I went back to my house earlier. Want some?" I said and he perked up.
"Yes please!" He said.
I took out a sandwich for him and some water so he could stay hydrated for the long walk.
When we finished eating we got back to walking again.
"Anyways Crimson, do you have anyone you like right now?" Red asked, out of the blue.
I looked at him and tilted my head.
"No, why?" I said.
"Nothing, I just asked out of curiosity since I'm so bored right now." He said with a sigh.
"Well, how about you?" I said and he turned his head to look at me.
"Hmm.. I don't have anyone I like right now." He said.
"I see, then what's your type?" I said and he looked at me with narrowed eyes.
"Why do you want to know anyway?" He said, looking at me suspiciously.
"Like you, I have nothing else to do as well." I said.
"Alright... But since you asked me what my type is... It's gotta be someone smart, good looking, and strong." He said.
"Pretty common..." I said.
"What does that mean?! But, what is your type?" He said.
"Kind, nice, loving, Someone who doesn't give up easily, someone independent, and feminine and cute." I said, and the last word I've said made Red stunned and shocked which made him stopped walking.
I also stopped walking and looked at him confusely.
𝘋𝘪𝘥 𝘐 𝘴𝘢𝘪𝘥 𝘴𝘰𝘮𝘦𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘸𝘳𝘰𝘯𝘨..? 𝘞𝘢𝘪𝘵-.. 𝘎𝘰𝘥, 𝘰𝘩 𝘨𝘰𝘥..! 𝘐'𝘮 𝘢 𝘨𝘪𝘳𝘭 𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘦.!
"You..like girls..?" He said trying to confirm and I hesitantly nodded my head.
"..." We stared at each other not knowing what to say.
I then heard him sighed loudly and gave me a big smile.
"Don't worry! I support you Crimson! Plus it's normal to like the same gender, it's just that you surprised me when you said you like girls. I always thought you liked boys, considering that you always hang out with them more often than the girls back in Pallet Town.." He said.
"Mhmm.. I just felt more comfortable with guys than girls, since... I don't know how to talk properly with them.." I said truthfully as I tried to hide my red face.
Even back in my past life, I don't know how talk, interact or get them into a proper conversation. I always ended up as a mess in the end, wallowing in shame and embarrassment while my guy friends console me.
"What? Really?! BAHAHAHA!" He laughed at me and I glared at him harshly.
"Shut up, at least I don't cry whenever I lose!" I said and it completely tick him off.
"WHAT DOES THAT SUPPOSED TO MEAN?!" He yelled as he formed a fist.
"You know exactly what I mean..!" I said, imitating his pose.
And with that, we engage in a fist to fist to battle.
-Later-
We continued to walk despite the injury on our faces.
Red has a bruised cheek while I got a scratched face.
We didn't talk to each other on the way until the other apologizes.
I glanced at him and he seems to be guilty and a bit angry. Probably angry to himself..
I sigh at myself internally and I stopped walking making him also stopped.
"I'm sorry.." I said and he looked at me in surprised.
"No, I'm sorry.. I shouldn't have made of fun you.." He said as he looked down with downcast eyes.
"So.. We're still friends right..?" I said and he nodded at me.
"Yeah! The best of friends!" He said with a grin.
I smiled at him.
"Great.. Let's continue to walk now, it'll be much faster when we arrive at Pewter City early." I said and he nodded at my words.
"Hey Crimson! Me and Poli are gonna take a walk around here, alright?" Red shouted in the distance as I nodded.
He then ran off with Poliwhirl, they're probably gonna catch some Pokémon.
I then walked off in the direction hoping to look for some Pokémon.
Rustle
I then heard the grass rustling, I carefully walked towards the grass.
When I saw what was causing the grass to rustle, I saw a Pidgey.
I quickly took out the Pokédex and scanned the small bird Pokémon.
Name: Pidgey
Species: Tiny Bird Pokémon
Dex Entry:
Common in grassy areas and forests, it is very docile and will chase off enemies by flapping up sand.
I looked at the information of the Pidgey in the Pokédex.
"Very neat.." I said.
I should also register my Pokémon in the Pokédex..
But those thoughts were quickly cut off, when a certain familiar Pokémon loud cry could be heard in the distance.
"Poli/(Ahhhhhh!!!)"
"Poliwhirl!!" Me and Red said at the same time.
I quickly ran to where the noise came from and saw Red crouching down next to Poliwhirl and a smug looking boy with his Charmander.
"A... Are you alright?" Red said.
"So that Poliwhirl has an owner." Green said with his smug smile sticking on his face.
Red glared at him and growled.
"We thought it was a wild Pokémon when we attacked it. Don't take it personally." He said as his smile grew when he saw Red's furious gaze.
"You did this to Poliwhirl! You'll pay!!" Red said as he was about to fight the boy when a large roar caught their attention.
They looked at the Pokémon who made that roar and saw a female Kangaskhan.
"I've been waiting for you, Kangaskhan! You've been testing my patience, but now you're mine. Charmander, attack!" The boy said, as he ordered his Charmander.
"Once I win, I'll be able to put its data in my Pokédex!" He said as he took out his Pokèdex.
"T... That's a Pokédex." Red said in shocked.
Hmm...? He also has a Pokédex?
The boy thought as he looked at Red with narrowed eyes.
While the two were busy about their Pokédexes, I looked at the Kangaskhan who was being attacked.
𝘐𝘧 𝘐 𝘳𝘦𝘮𝘦𝘮𝘣𝘦𝘳 𝘪𝘵 𝘤𝘰𝘳𝘳𝘦𝘤𝘵𝘭𝘺, 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘒𝘢𝘯𝘨𝘢𝘴𝘬𝘩𝘢𝘯 𝘩𝘢𝘴...!!
"Hahahahaha!" The boy suddenly laughed out loud.
"What's so funny?" Red said as he gave him a hard glare.
"My grandpa told me he'd given his two Pokédex to two kids at the same age as mine! I just didn't expect that those people are you two. Hahahahahaha!!" He laughed and Red looked at him very stunned.
"Gr... Grandpa?! You mean Professor Oak?!" Red yelled in disbelief.
"Why he gave you a Pokédex is beyond me! Well, never mind! I'll just show you how it's done!" He said loudly with a smug smile as he turned around to face the weak Kangaskhan.
"Charmander, final attack!" He said as he ordered his Charmander for the last attack.
I looked at him, and back to the Kangaskhan who wasn't attacking and protecting something in its pouch.
𝘐 𝘸𝘢𝘯𝘵 𝘵𝘰 𝘩𝘦𝘭𝘱 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘪𝘯𝘵𝘦𝘳𝘷𝘦𝘯𝘦, 𝘣𝘶𝘵... 𝘐 𝘥𝘰𝘯'𝘵 𝘸𝘢𝘯𝘵 𝘵𝘰 𝘤𝘩𝘢𝘯𝘨𝘦 𝘰𝘳 𝘢𝘭𝘵𝘦𝘳𝘯𝘢𝘵𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘴𝘵𝘰𝘳𝘺𝘭𝘪𝘯𝘦, 𝘰𝘳 𝘦𝘭𝘴𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘦'𝘴 𝘨𝘰𝘯𝘯𝘢 𝘣𝘦 𝘢 𝘣𝘪𝘨 𝘤𝘩𝘢𝘯𝘨𝘦..!
"That should do it. You're mine!" He grinned as he tried to catch her with the Pokéball and the Kangaskhan turned to him with a hard harsh glare.
"Hmm... So Charmander's attacks weren't enough, huh? Hit it again, Charmander!"
"Stop it!" I shouted and the two males turned towards me.
"This Pokémon is mine. Don't go thinking that you can go and take it!" He glared at me as he pointed his finger at me.
"You don't understand! It's trying..." I was cut off by his stubbornness and hard head.
"Charmander, continue your attack!" He continues to ignore my words.
"Tch... Pikachu, tackle that Charmander!" I said and Pikachu hopped off my shoulder, and used Quick Attack.
"Hey! What the...! What do you think you're doing?" He said as he was taken off guard and turned towards me with a glare.
He then turned around to face the Kangaskhan again, but it has now disappeared.
"Grrr! It got away!" He growled, clearly angry. He then turned around to face me with a hard glare.
"You'll pay for this! Charmander, we have a new target now." he glowered at me and Red got between us and look at Green with a scowl.
"Hey! Nobody threatens my cousin! If you want to hurt her, you have to go through me first!" Red said.
"Fine by me, Charmander!"
"Red...! What are you doing...?!" I whispered yell at him and he turned towards me with a smile.
"Relax, I got this. Nobody threatens my cousin, if they do they'll get a good beating from me." He said and turned towards the boy.
The two males back up a little to make room for their Pokémon to fight, and sent out their Pokémon.
"Poliwhirl, use pound!" Red said as Poliwhirl ran towards Charmander with his fist ready.
"Charmander, use Scratch!" He commanded and his Charmander charged towards Poliwhirl, and both Pokémon hit each other with their attacks.
I watched as the two males fought with their Pokémon and the pit of worry in my stomach grew.
𝘞𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘢𝘣𝘰𝘶𝘵 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘒𝘢𝘯𝘨𝘢𝘴𝘬𝘩𝘢𝘯...! 𝘉𝘶𝘵, 𝘐 𝘫𝘶𝘴𝘵 𝘤𝘢𝘯'𝘵 𝘭𝘦𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘙𝘦𝘥...
I thought as my head began to cloud full of negative thoughts.
𝘕𝘰... 𝘛𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘦'𝘴 𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘭𝘭 𝘵𝘪𝘮𝘦, 𝘫𝘶𝘴𝘵 𝘵𝘳𝘺 𝘵𝘰 𝘧𝘰𝘤𝘶𝘴 𝘰𝘯 𝘴𝘰𝘮𝘦𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘦𝘭𝘴𝘦 𝘪𝘯𝘴𝘵𝘦𝘢𝘥...
I thought and looked back to Charmander, right, the Pokédex..
I took out my Pokédex and scanned the Charmander.
Name: Charmander
Species: Lizard Pokémon
Dex Entry:
The flame on its tail shows the strength of its life force. If it is weak, the flame on its tail also burns weakly.
It said, I then turned around to where the Kangaskhan ran off.
After some time, I then heard Red shouted.
"W-what?! A Scyther?!" He shouted in surprise and I turned around to look at them.
Nonetheless, Red continued to fight with him until eventually, Red won.
"Yes, I won!" Red said as he celebrated.
"Grrr, no matter! It's still around here. We'll continue our match later." he growled at him and he walk off clearly angry.
Red then turned towards with a huge smile.
"Can you believe it?! I've beat him!" He said and I nodded at him.
"Good job." I said with a smile, but that quickly vanished when it turned into a serious expression.
"That Kangaskhan." I said as I looked towards the distance.
"It has a baby that's why it wasn't attacking, it was protecting it in its pouch..." Red said.
"So you knew." I said.
"I figured, I was also confused why it wasn't attacking and was strong enough to repel the Pokéball from that guy. I then noticed it was protecting something in its pouch, so I thought of one thing. Its baby." He said and I nodded at his words.
"Why don't we go look for her, and help her?" I said and Red nodded.
Me and Red continued to walk for a long time until eventually, we arrived at a big lake.
"Woah... Look at this big lake, Crimson!" Red said in awe as he look at the clear lake.
"It's so clear..." I said and he nodded.
"Let's go, we need to find the Kangaskhan first before 'he' does." Red said, referring Green.
I nodded at him and continued our search.
-15 Minutes Later-
"Where should we go?" Red said as he looked at the two paths.
One path would lead us to the Kangaskhan, the other to Pewter.
"The left one... I'm sure of it." I said and he nodded.
We continued to walk for another hour and a half until we saw the mother Kangaskhan hiding in the corner.
We quietly and carefully walked towards the Kangaskhan.
Red carefully walked towards the Kangaskhan with a worried expression.
"Are you alright? We're here to help!" Red said and the Kangaskhan looked at Red with hostility.
"W-wait, Red-!" I pulled Red towards me before the Kangaskhan could hit Red.
"Grrrrr!!" The Kangaskhan growled and glared at us with hostility.
A sudden movement then could be seen in the pouch of the Kangaskhan.
The Kangaskhan protectively hold the baby Pokémon in it's pouch as she glared at us.
"I knew it. Your baby is hurt." Red said as he watched the baby Pokémon came out of it mother's pouch.
I then heard rapid movements coming behind us, and turned around to see the same boy with his Charmander.
"Hmph! Thanks a lot, because of you I lost the chance to..." He was cut off by Red's words.
"So that's the reason why you didn't fight back earlier. If Charmander's fire had hit your baby, it would've been really hurt." Red said and the boy looked towards the Kangaskhan with a slightly guilty feeling.
"..."
"Wait...!" He then noticed something unusual with the baby's behaviour and state.
"What do you want?!" Red yelled in anger as he turned around to looked at him with a hard glare.
"It's poisoned, Red...!" I said as I looked towards the baby with a panicked and complicated expression.
"What?!" Red looked towards the baby Pokémon with a panicked and worried face.
"If we're not gonna cure the poison soon, it's not going to make it." The boy said out loud as he paces back and forth.
"Umm... I'll go get some Antidotes from the Pokémon Market!" Red said and we all looked at him as if he's dumb.
We got here for more than 3 hours, the baby will be dead by the time we'll get back with the Antidotes! Not to mention its still a baby Pokèmon!
"Are you crazy? It's a baby Pokémon. It won't be able to digest the medicine. Don't you know anything? What we need is a 'Pecha Berry'. Pecha Berries cure poison. Let's go look around for one." He said as he ran off with his Charmander.
Red and me looked towards the Kangaskhan with apologetic faces.
"I'll find a Pecha Berry for your baby." I said to the Kangaskhan who nodded at me.
"Let's go, Crimson! Someone here must be carrying one." Red said as he took off.
I looked back to the Kangaskhan once again before taking off with Red to find a Pecha Berry for the baby Pokèmon.
Don't worry, I'll help your baby get better.. Just wait for me..
I continued to search around the whole forest until I felt my legs finally giving up. I layed down on the ground as I leaned my back to a tree.
Me and Red went into seperate directions, hoping it would make our search faster.
I looked up at the sky with a tired expression.
"...Where the hell am I supposed to find pecha berries here..?! I remembered that Red got a pecha berry from a nurse around here..."
I grumbled.
"Gahhh!! At least give me a hint on where I could find one?!?!"
I shouted in frustration as I stared up into the sky.
I layed there for a minute or so, until I heard rustling coming from some bushes near me.
Rustle Rustle
"...? Who's there..?"
I said warily as I stood up from the ground, holding onto Pikachu's ball, ready to sent him out.
Rustle Rustle
The noise became more clear and louder as seconds passed by, and I saw a small shadow and figure coming out.
"(Hu..?)"
"... Ehhh??"
I stared at the figure, seeing it was a pokemon.
"An... Oddish..?"
I tilted my head to the side and said pokemon did the same.
"(A human...?)"
The pokemon said as we continued to stare at each other.
Wait..! Maybe this guy could help me...!
"H.. Hey..!"
I called out to the small pokemon as they look at me with a confused mannerism.
"(Hmm..?)"
"Do you perhaps... Know where the pecha berries are..? I need them right now..! It's an emergency..!"
I pleaded at the small pokemon with a hint of worry on my tone.
"(... Why does this human need a pecha berry for..? And why is it asking for me..?)"
They tilted his head as they talked to themselves.
"A poisoned baby pokemon needs them. Please."
The Oddish looked at me in surprise.
"(You.. Understand me..?)"
I nodded my head.
They looked at me for a brief moment before skipping away.
"H.. Hey!!"
I ran behind the small pokemon.
"(Follow me.)"
They said, as they continued to walk.
We stopped in front of what seems to be a large wall of bushes with flowers hanging on them.
"Woah..."
I stared at the sight in awe as the little Oddish went inside on a small entrance.
"(Come on..!)"
It urged me to come inside.
I closed my eyes and forced myself to get inside the bushes towards the other side.
When I finally got to the other side, I opened my eyes slowly and I widened my eyes at the beautiful sight.
It looks like paradise.. Wait.. Is this side of the forest even connected to the Viridian Forest..?!
I gaped my mouth in awe as I stared at the large beautiful clear water lake, large grown trees with numerous pokemon on top.
The Pokémon all stared at me weirdly.
"(Why is there a human here..?)"
"(Wahh..! It's a human..!)"
"(Woah..! Look..! A human..!)"
All the Pokémon said as they looked at me.
I then felt a tap on my shoes and looked down to see the Oddish staring at me.
"(Come on, this way!)"
It urged me as the Oddish walked away towards a small land or farm, with a small cotage.
A farm and a cottage..? Is someone living in here..?
I thought as I followed the small Oddish.
Once we're in front of small cottage, I stared at the healthy crops of vegetables as the Oddish knocked on the door, using it's body.
I wonder who's living in here, and why it isn't shown in the mamga or game..?
My thoughts were then cut off when we heard loud footsteps coming inside.
The wooden door then creaked open, and we saw a figure of a human.
"...!"
"Hmm? A visitor..? How did you got in here?"
I stared at the man in front of me, as he talked.
He has a brown undercut hair, and green eyes.
"The Oddish led me here..."
I said as the man nodded his head.
"Hmm I see.. You might have good intentions if this little fella led you here.. Anyways, is there a reason why?"
"Yes, a baby Pokémon is currently poisoned and I need a pecha berry to cure it."
I said and the man nodded his head once again.
"Hmm... All right, follow me."
He said as he began to walk away, to the back of his house.
Me and the Oddish followed him, as the pokèmon's eyes were glued on us.
We then stopped to a halt and he stepped aside and I saw overgrown bushes with numerous berries.
"This... It's so many.."
I said as I watched the man plucked some berries and put it in a small sash.
He then walked closer to me and handed me the bag.
"Thank you, sir."
I said as I bowed my head in gratitude for the man.
"Now now, no need for this. Plus, you need to get on moving now, aye? You said the pokèmon was in poison, you don't have much time left."
Ah! Right!
"Alright, but once again, thank you!"
I said one last time before running towards back where I came in.
While the Oddish followed me.
When I was finally back to where the exit of this forest where, I stopped and looked down at the Oddish.
"Thank you very much, little guy."
"(Don't thank me, it's the least I could do. Anyways, you have to go back now.)"
The Oddish said and I nodded my head, I bid farewell to the Pokémon around here and went back to where the poisoned Pokémon is.
When I came back, I saw Red also walking in th same direction holding a pecha berry in his hand.
I ran up to him and walked by his side.
"Crimson? Ah, you also found a pecha berry!"
He said as he noticed the sash in my hand, filled with berries.
"Mm.."
I nodded my head.
Silence filled the air.
"..."
We continued to walk until Red sighed loudly.
"Gah! Why don't we run instead?"
He took off running, leaving me behind.
Eh? Did he just... Leave me?
"..."
That idiot!
"Why the hell did you left me, stupid?!"
I shouted as I ran towards the Kangaskhan's direction.
When we finally got there, we could see the baby Pokémon twitching and panting heavily.
Red walked up towards the baby Pokémon and crouched down as put the Pecha berry in the baby Pokémon's mouth.
"..."
We waited for the results and...
The small baby Pokèmon smiled and laughed.
"Hahahahahahaha! Your baby is all better now!"
Red gave a heartedly laugh, and I
smiled a bit at the sight.
We then heard loud footsteps coming behind us, and we turned around to see this same boy.
"Hmph! If you hadn't interfered earlier, I would've caught it and taken it to the Pokémon Center."
"Oh come on, you know it's not really winning if your opponent is at a disadvantage."
Red stated clearly, and the boy was taken aback by his words.
"Huh?!"
"Feh! Whatever... I'm outta here!"
He huffs and was about to leave when Red suddenly calls out to him.
"My name's Red! This is my cousin, Crimson."
Red said, while pointing his finger at me.
"What's yours?"
Red looked at him with anticipation, as the boy looks at him with an embarrassed yet angry look.
"If you would leave me alone!! My name is Green..."
He then ran off.
We were then left there standing alone.
I looked at Red and heard him muttering something out.
"... Green."
He looked towards the direction where Green ran off to with a small smile.
"Red."
I called out to him and he snapped his head towards my direction.
"Yeah?"
"Let's go."
I said and he nodded his head.
It was now nighttime, and we decided to camp out.
We were currently roasting some marshmallows, which I brought for emergencies.
Marshmallows is a must!
We sat there in silence, while I ate my marshmallow.
"Hey, Crimson..."
Red said, cutting off the silence around us.
I hummed at him, while looking at him, still eating the marshmallows.
"That boy from earlier.. Green."
Hm? What suddenly brought this up?
"What about him?"
I looked at him with narrowed eyes.
"You interested in him? Ohh, I get it... You like him don't ya?"
I teased him as he threw a marshmallow at me.
"Hey-! Stop wasting food will ya?"
I glared at him.
"Geez, sorry. But stop joking around, I don't like him in that way at all. I barely know him."
"Do you really need to a reason to like someone? If anything, it's just excuses."
I said as took a marshmallow and poke it on the stick.
"Anyways, why are you asking me about him?"
"It's.. Never mind.. I'll sleep first."
He stood up, and went towards his sleeping bag.
He tucked himself in, and faced the other way.
"...?"
What's up with him today?
I worriedly glance at him, and sighed.
I decided to to put the marshmallows inside my bag, and went to my sleeping bag.
As I tucked myself in, I looked at Red before facing the other way.
It will be a long day tomorrow..
I thought as I shut my eyes closed.
Two days had passed, and we finally got out of Viridian Forest.
"Finally!"
Red shouted joyously, as I looked at him and sighed.
"Come on, Red. Let's head in."
He nodded and we went inside.
Meanwhile...
"Huh...? Why did the pH level suddenly increase? What's in there?"
"Huh?!"
"Aaaahhh!!"
• • •
"Phew! That's enough Pecha berries!"
"Is... Is someone there...?"
"Aaaaahhh!!"
• • •
"Uhhhh! The water here is so great..."
"Ouch! What was that? Ahh! What bit me!?"
"Aaaaahh!!"
"Aaaaaaaaaahhh!! Heeeeeeeeelpp meeeee!! Heeeeeeeeelpp meeeee!!"
