Well would you look at that, another chapter after five months! I swear, I will get this done one of these days. Whether it be in three weeks or five months, this story will eventually be completed.
Chapter 8: A Spit Out of the Way
Calvin snickered to himself as he casually strolled towards Principal Spittle's office with a thermos can filled with a new rendition of his infamous "Pitcher of Plague".
After much deliberation, Calvin determined that getting his principal sick was the best way to get what he deemed to be his biggest "threat" to power out of the way. Of course, Calvin didn't consider any other factors that would be limiting his power nor did he listen to Hobbes' objections about doing anything of the sort, but Calvin being Calvin insisted on going forth with his plan.
Calvin got to the office and put his ear on the door, he heard Principal Spittle on the phone with someone.
"...all I'm saying is, we've tried countless times to get him out of here, but the state keeps blocking us, and then they keep sending the Department of Education to investigate us because we're somehow to blame for all his shenanigans... Even though I fail to see how stuff like the Noodle Incident is at the fault of the faculty... I mean, its a miracle we didn't get permanently closed down from all the repairs and damage he caused from that!"
"Of course he's on his bi-monthly 'Please take Calvin from us' begging call... You'd think he give up after it failed the first 300 times..." Calvin grumbled.
"...Well when you put it that way I guess it makes sense while you wouldn't want him... Military school? Oh trust me, we've tried that but every one in the country has told us he's too young and would run the risk of causing a national security issue... Yes, really... and like you said, maybe he will turn over a new leaf with this student council thing, but I feel that'll be a long process..."
Calvin rolled his eyes as he heard Principal Spittle wrap up his call, and then quickly hid himself out of sight as Principal Spittle walked out of his office, and then quickly bolted into the office without him noticing.
Now having been to the Principal's Office a countless number of times, Calvin basically knew every nook and cranny of the office. He also knew that Principal Spittle used a thermos can throughout the day, which of course Calvin had managed to snag a similar version of at home filled with his confection.
Calvin quickly swapped out Principal Spittle' thermos can with his, and then dashed out with it out of the office.
"Perfect, the first phase of 'Operation: Spit Out' is a success!" Calvin laughed to himself as he ran off, hoping his plan would work.
And well, lets just say it would work in a way he wasn't quite expecting...
Students and teachers watched with concern as Principal Spittle was carted out of the school into an ambulance.
"Is he going to be alright?" A student asked to a paramedic.
"He should be fine, it'll just take a bit for him to overcome... Whatever that was that was in him..." A paramedic replied back.
Calvin stayed dead silent throughout the ordeal. The reaction Principal Spittle had from his "drink" was far more severe than he expected, and he certainly wasn't about to say anything about such a matter, until something he hadn't thought about dawned on him.
"So wait, if he's gonna be in the hospital, who's gonna run the council?" Calvin asked.
"Likely nobody Calvin... That'll be on hold most likely until he comes back, unless of course he gives out instructions to you all somehow from the hospital. Though I doubt he'd be doing much work from his laptop while in there..." Miss Wormwood replied.
Upon hearing this, Calvin realized that "Operation: Spit Out" was going to have some changes to it.
As everyone was leaving for the end of the day, Calvin once again slid by Principal Spittle's office, and much to his surprise, it was still left over. He quickly snuck in and went to Principal Spittle's desk.
Much to his joy, the laptop was still there. Calvin quickly grabbed it and managed to stuff it into his backpack, he also noticed that the keys to his office were still there, and quickly grabbed those as well, and slipped out of his office without anyone noticing somehow, and made it on the bus in time.
"Wait 'till Hobbes hears about this!" Calvin snickered to himself.
Afterwards, Miss Wormwood was walking through the halls and noticed the door to Principal Spittle's office was still open.
"They must have forgotten to shut the door..." Miss Wormwood mused as she turned off the lights and shut the door to the office, unaware of what had gone on in there minutes earlier.
"You POISIONED your Principal?! I know you wanted to get him out of the way in your idiotic quest for power, but I didn't think you were going to try and KILL him!" Hobbes exclaimed in shock after hearing about Calvin's escapade.
"Hey, its not like I deliberately tried to poison him! I just tried to make him sick for the day so I could take over!" Calvin exclaimed defensively.
"And what did you really think was going to happen when you gave him something that you have referred to as, and I quote, a 'Debilitating Disease Drink'?" Hobbes shot back.
"How should I know?! I'm not a doctor! Anything could have happened!" Calvin exclaimed back.
"I fear for Med Schools if you ever decided to become a doctor..." Hobbes sighed as he rolled his eyes.
"Well, now that he's in the hospital instead of just going home sick, and thanks to nobody keeping an eye on his office, I have the keys to gaining total power!" Calvin said excitedly.
"And how exactly does that laptop help you?" Hobbes asked.
"Well its simple, Mr. Spittle uses this to send out all sorts of communications to students, faculty, and parents at the school." Calvin explained, "So now that I have this on me, I can simply pose as him by sending messages as him, and everyone will believe it! Its a foolproof plan!"
"Uh huh, and what about when he gets out of the hospital and comes back?"
"It won't matter, I'll have total control of the school with the true power as a Student Council President and he'll be powerless! He'll have to hit the job market!"
"And what about all the teachers?"
"They'll go with it! They all suck up to him, and they wouldn't dare try to go against what he says!"
"I still feel that you're leaving a lot of parts out of this 'plan' that could easily backfire, don't you think you should put some more thought into how to do it in a smart matter?"
"Hey, I've basically winged this entire thing so far, and look where it's gotten me!"
"Yeah, an increasing list of charges for when you are inevitably caught..."
"Oh relax furball! As always, you're always worrying about something, now help me write my first communication to the school!"
Deer students and factulty, thank u very much for yur concerns abut my helth.

"Perfect! But do we really have to have the part about having to redeem myself?" Calvin remarked.
"I'm telling you, that's the only way people are going to believe that this is legit." Hobbes replied back.
"Fine..." Calvin conceded, "Send it out, then we have to start drafting up a lot more of these..."
Hobbes groaned.
Hours later, Miss Wormwood was reading the email, and was shocked by its contents.
"They sure have him on a lot of drugs... Hopefully once he's off them he can make some clarifications... and run his emails through a spell check..." Miss Wormwood remarked to herself.
Of course, unbeknownst to everyone, nobody knew that Calvin was behind all of this, and with several tricks up his sleeve, he was going to utilize his unearthed power as Student Council President in rather interesting ways, which of course were going to cause chaos.
