Darkness, everywhere. Everywhere I see...Nothing, no one's around. I can't even see my own legs.

I wander aimlessly, only to find Nothing. Is like being out in night, no lights, no air, no comfort. All alone. It feels like I been here before. Feeling helpless, I stop.

But then I see it, a light, shining down the darkness that was coming my way. It was bright, coming rather quick. I march on to get closer, and closer.

Suddenly, two lights appeared, blinding me. Noises coming my way, i stood there like a deer in a headlights.

Slowly building up, volume, loud motor and suddenly screech.

Pain. Helplessness. Betrayed. pined. Lingering for death, but nothing came. Once again. Darkness.

snort*

"ughh..."

My head felt a hard cushion, I slowly put my head up, blood rush around my head, feeling uncomfortable. My neck need stretching and movement.

I slept on the table again, great. I wrote something to get that memory out of my head, no matter how many times I write about it. It never gets out.

I looked at it, realize I drool on it a little, thankfully it was on the white part of the paper. I look up, seeing the amber light shining in the window. Must be morning time already, still feel like crap with how I slept.

I grab the paper and notice my lamp still on, I turned it off before I roll myself to get my bag to put my paper in there.

Today is the first day of my new school.

My mother decided to move due to her having a new job here. Plus leaving my hometown means I can leave those awful memories behind. But that also mean I have to leave sophie behind.

It has been a long time since I became crippled, well for me it has. It hasn't been easy to adjust to it. Everyday I struggle putting on parts, let alone getting into the bathroom.

And my issues I'm still going through hasn't approve by any means, it fact it got worst.

I just hope the people in my school will be better, then the ones at home. But why bother being optimistic, their's always trouble for me to deal with.

It take a minute to change, I struggle to put on pants. I called out to my mom, but she didn't answered.

Sighing, I continue and manage to put it on, after wasting nearly three minutes, I was wearing my school uniform.

It has a grey-like brown blazer, a sleeveless orange vest and a red tie. I never wear a tie before but I managed, somehow.

I guess I'm ready for the day, I should leave before I end up late.

I left my room and turn left down the hall, but It wasn't easy. The hallway was slightly narrow, making it hard to turn and go straight. I hit the walls a bit as I express my feelings.

"Ahh! Damnit!"

I managed to scroll down the hall and was reaching the kitchen to my left. Apparently it was still time for me to eat breakfast, so I decided to eat something quick before leaving.

After finishing a quick breakfast I leaved my home, my mom wasn't home right now, she possibly left for work. Of course she would, she doesn't spend much time back home either.

I was now outside as i roll down the porch and reach the sidewalk. The school i lived wasn't too far thankfully but i don't need to walk if i was late. Nevermind, i Rather walk.

I proceed down the sidewalks, as I continue further I started to see people wearing the same outfit as me. Plenty of them were in my way but I stay further away from them.

I was about to cross the street and saw more students coming from the neighborhood on the left. I saw two people walking together as I was crossing the street.

One was male and the other was female. The girl looked slightly different, she was wearing a red bow tie in her hair and her blazer was un button. I wonder if she will get write up for that.

By the time I was across the street, those two were further up ahead. It's not like I care or anything but yet again they were wearing the same outfit as me. Hopefully I won't meet them again.

So far the trip was a bit long but I made it to school. It was a large building with three stories.

"oh boy."

I can't wait for this.

When I was reaching the school porch, I saw my first problem. The stairs. I had to used the grassy hill to get up, that's a good start to my new school life.

I entered the school, seeing a lot of people around. At this point my anxiety came in like a flood. I was the only one different, hell I was possibly the only paraplegic in this damn school.

I quickly roll away down the left hall, ignoring anyone who might stare at the only disabled kid in school.

I sigh, slightly distress at this point. I roll down the school and already people were staring at me, this is not going to be a good day and I just know it.

I was rolling pretty fast, eager to get to my class. I just want this day to end already. I soon notice a person who walked in front of me, I slow down nearly ran into them, they notice as well.

She apologized and walk to the side as I didn't said anything and moved on. At that point I realized I need to calm down, first expression is everything I guess.

I soon made it to my classroom and entered, it was almost full of people in here, they already taken theirs seats.

I was looking around and saw a table with no chair, must be mines.

I scroll to it and a minute later, the teacher came in as school started. Not looking forward to what I'll learn but at least no one is paying attention to me. Like it always been.

The classes were boring as ever, I barely paid attention but thankfully there wasn't much work since then. Soon it was lunch time as everyone started to pack up and left the classroom while a few stay and chat with one another.

I for started left, while I did I notice a familiar face. That girl who was with that bland looking boy with brown hair.

She left the class seamlessly happy, her expression look off looking but i ignored it and moved on, people were staring.

I left the classroom and was scrolling down the hall avoiding many people in my way. I was heading to the cafeteria but I don't know where it is, but I figure to follow the others in hoping to find it.

While I was moving many people were looking at me, with questionable looks. Is like these people never seen a cripple before, it was really pissing me off.

I notice the girl further off in the crowd, she was going to a door on the right. Hopefully is the cafeteria.

I scroll down and got a comment from someone.

"Hey look, is the new kid."

I didn't bother stopping, I move on as I could still hear there comments.

"Not every day you see a new kid, let alone a special kind."

That really gets to me, but I try not to get too mad, the last thing I need is enemies.

I was reaching the place that girl went in as many others were in the way. I managed to get in, once they got out of the way.

The area was the cafeteria and many people were sitting at the tables eating their meals.

I sigh, I have to get through many people just so I can get my damn lunch. This is a pain.

After struggling and wasting time trying to get pass many people, this school has a lot of people and is getting on my nerves.

I managed to get my meal and find a decent place to eat. I scroll to the nearest table at the edge of the room: One with less people.

Thankfully I found one, I started to eat and mind my own business.

I was eating for a few minutes until I heard a loud mouth from the right side. Her voice sounded high pitch and slightly young sounding, almost obnoxious.

I turned my head to see what's she yelling about. Apparently she was being teased by other people. Saying she's short.

"great, this place is full of assholes too."

I did notice her appearance slightly, all I saw was her hair, it was pink with what seems to be red strings in her hair.

I ignore what they were doing, as long they ain't bothering me then is fine.

Eventually lunch time was over, and is back at learning. I left the lunch room in a hurry, the last thing I want is to be bothered by others.

So far classes were really uneventful, just learning about whatever they want us to learn. Is not like I could do much while crippled, I have limitations.

And finally after 4 classes, the school was finally over. I sigh in relief and eager to leave. I pack up most of my things and was ready to move out, until someone came up to me.

"oh boy."

I looked at her and it was that girl I saw before. upon expection she was actually cute looking with blue eyes, coral pink hair and was also pretty short.

She stare at me smiling, my face really say the opposite of how she's feeling.

"hello."

She speak to me, her voice sounded slightly high almost like a kid. It sounded kind and a bit bubbly.

I was pondering on what to say.

"uh, hi..."

She bend her knees and rest her hands on it, and spoke.

"You must be the new exchange student i heard, right?"

What is she the welcome wagon? I just want to go home. But again no one really speaks to me in this kind of tone before. I just hope she ain't setting me up.

"uhh, yeah, I am."

She stood straight and said statistic.

"that's great! Is nice to meet you. I'm sayori, and you?"

I have never met a person with this attitude before, i would expect this from a adult trying to keep a child happy and safe. Where's she getting at, I should probably play along.

"uhm, my name's simon."

"Simon. Mm, that's a nice name. You from America?"

"n-no. I'm from sweden."

"ohh! You from Sweden? Sorry I should of known from your accent."

She seems genuinely sorry while saying that, but still have that mistaken look to her.

"ahh, is quite alright, plenty of people get it mixed up."

"ehehe, yeah. Say since you're new here do you wanna be, friends?"

"huh?"

I was puzzled, I wouldn't expect anyone to ask to be their friends. Is this girl, even mature? Or is she's not smart, I don't know."

But after I said that she realize how strange that is.

"oh, sorry. I don't mean to make it weird."

"oh...Right."

This conversation was weird to begin with. I ain't got time with this, I'm going.

"well is nice meeting you sayori, but I must be going now--"

I moved my chair and was about to turn around until she said.

"Wait! I mean,"

I looked at her, wondering what she's getting at.

"sorry, I didn't mean to be weird or anything. Is just that, you're new and umm, u-unique."

I moved to face her.

"That's an interesting way to say I'm cripple."

"eh! Sorry i didn't mean to offend you! I was just trying to say that, i-if you need anyone to help, I can help you."

This caught me by surprise, she wants to help me.

"W-why?"

"well, is nothing personal but is hard getting around here. Plus everyone needs a friend right?"

"right...A friend..."

She has to say it didn't she. I was looking away, from that moment she looked concerned.

"Simon?"

I looked at her: "what?"

She lean back a bit, I kinda snap at her. I didn't mean too, but I never had any friends. Besides sophie.

Sayori looked sad, she seems innocent looking. When I seen her sad I felt pretty bad.

"I'm sorry, I'm being too forceful am i?"

Ah damnit, I'm being too harsh. I should apologize.

"i-is alright, i didn't mean to snap at you."

"is okay, I started out too heavily."

"is alright. I, just need to go home. My mom worries too much about me."

"oh, I see. well we both stay in the same class right? We can see each other again tomorrow right?"

She's really try to be friends with me, I don't know if i like this, but I find it...Nice."

"yeah, I think we'll see each other again."

"great! I'm looking forward to seeing you again."

She has her happy attitude again, this girl seems to be very cheery. May I finally have a friend?

"uh, yeah. I'll be seeing you tomorrow then."

"heh, you too."

She smile brightly, and was about to turn around.

"I'll see you tomorrow simon."

I was letting that info in and stumbled on my words.

"um-Yeah, bye."

She waved goodbye and seamlessly skip torwards the door and leaved. I blinked, that girl is very interesting. I have never met anyone like her, she has a bright attitude and a kind tone as well. Plus she's cute and pretty looking as well. I think I might enjoy my time with her.

I turned around and head to the door, with a small smile showing on my face.

I exit the room and was now heading off to the exit. I left the school with no problems, nobody to bother me. I was rolling down the sidewalk, it was bright out and the air felt well. My mood changed since I met her. I felt like I met a new friend, i'm actually looking forward to tomorrow, if things turn out well.
