Chapter Three

"Listen, I don't know when my parents will be home so if you run into them just tell them the truth about why you're there, okay? I don't want you lying to them." Santana told her, hand on Quinn's shoulder and looking her in the eyes.

"Promise. I won't lie to them," Quinn agreed.

Santana smiled and closed the car door, listening to Quinn start the car and then she waved when Quinn started to drive away from the school. Don't do anything stupid, Q.

Santana sighed and turned around to go back into the school, walking down the hall to the Glee room. She was met outside by Mercedes.

"Think she's going to be okay alone?"

Santana runs a hand through her hair. "I don't know. But I do know I'm going to be rushing home after my last class." Santana told her.

"You're worried something's going to happen with her or her and your parents if they come home, aren't you?" Mercedes asked.

"My parents love Quinn. So, I'm more worried about something happening when she gets to my house and is alone." Santana told her, resting her hand on the handle to open the Glee classroom door.

"Mercedes, Santana, thank you for joining us." Mr. Shue said, annoyed, not knowing what happened between the Glee club members.

"Sorry," the two girls mumbled, not really sorry.

"Just sit down. I was about to get started on this week's assignment." Mr. Shue told them and went over to the whiteboard, wrote on it, and then turned around.

When Santana and Mercedes saw 'Depression' written on the board they turned to look at each other and Mercedes raised her hand.

"Yes, Mercedes?"

"Um...I" Mercedes was trying to find the right words. "I don't know if this is a good topic to have." She told him.

Instead of Mr. Sue replying Rachel spoke and Mercedes and Santana cringed. "Why not? Depression is a serious problem in today's society. We need to talk about it. What's so wrong with finding songs to show everyone we're all here for them?"

Santana and Mercedes look at each other again and Santana speaks up this time. "That's rich. One of us is struggling and instead of being considerate of her emotions you just fucking outed what happened to her in front of the whole club. Mercedes and I are also wondering how the hell you know what happened when she only told us."

"How I know isn't important!" Rachel shouted, standing up, and walking in front of the room. "I just know that it needs to be talked about."

Before the fight could go any further, Mr. Shue finally interjects. "What is going on here? Who are you girls talking about?" Before anyone could answer, Mr. Shue raised a hand and looked around the room, noting a missing blonde. "Where is Quinn?" he asked, looking at Santana.

Santana looks down at her hands, not knowing how to reply.

"Santana?" he asked again, "Someone tell me where she is!"

"She's at Santana's house. She had a rough lunch time and told us she couldn't focus after it so she thought she should go home but since we were going to hang out after school was finished soon, I told her to go to my house."

"Oh, you better hope she doesn't do anything," Rachel said under her breath.

"How fucking dare you!" Santana said, standing up, and walking over to Rachel. "You have no fucking clue as to what she's gone through, and she's been doing so much better with Mercedes and I's help! You know fucking nothing, Berry!" Santana yelled, walking closer to Rachel, only to be stopped by Mercedes.

"Stop, San," Mercedes whispered. "I know you want to attack her right now, but we need to keep our cool for Quinn, okay? Let's just get through the rest of the day so we can go and see our girl." Mercedes put a hand on her arm and didn't let go until Santana nodded.

"What do you mean "better hope she doesn't do anything" Rachel?" Mr. Shue asked the question the students were all wondering.

"She landed in the hospital Mr. Shue. What do you think I mean?" Rachel asks William in a 'duh' tone.

"Why was she in the hospital?" He asked.

"I'd like to know that too," Kurt added, raising his hand.

"Until Quinn is okay sharing, it's none of your business," Mercedes told the group.

"But we deserve to know!" Kurt tried to fight again and that led to everyone arguing until they heard the door slam.

"What the hell is going on in here?" Coach Sylvester asked, a serious expression plastered on her face.

Meanwhile, Quinn was halfway to Santana's house, just imagining what could be going on at school right now. She shook herself out of thinking about school and just focused on driving. When she got to Santana's house she walked out of her car, grabbing the bag full of clothes that she kept in her car. She locked her car and took notice of the empty garage and let out a sigh of relief, knowing that Santana's parents weren't home, and she wouldn't need to answer questions as to why she was out of school already.

"Now time to find some food" Quinn muttered to herself after locking the door behind her after entering.

Quinn decided to go upstairs to Santana's room to drop her stuff down and she was about to turn to go downstairs to eat when she looked at the bed and groaned. She was exhausted and didn't want to eat anything, but she knew she would get her ass chewed out by Santana and Mercedes if she didn't. Quinn sighed and went down the stairs and into the kitchen, straight to the fridge.

Quinn looked through the fridge, shelf by shelf and her eyes stopped on a Subway sub that was on the second shelf. She hesitated for a moment, wondering if anyone would miss it but against her better judgement, she took it out of the fridge, unwrapped it and her mouth watered when she realized that it was her favourite kind of sub. Santana can be a literal angel sometimes. Quinn thinks to herself, knowing that no one else in the Lopez household has a sub with ham and veggies on it. They probably have an agreement about how subs don't need to be healthy.

Quinn sits down on a chair by the kitchen island after grabbing a glass of water and eats the sub. Thankful for the silence of the house, knowing that when she would wake up later, the house would be noisy with Santana's parents making dinner and whenever Santana and Mercedes hung out, they were always loud.

It was 10 minutes later when Quinn was done both the subway and the glass of water, so she made her way up to Santana's bedroom, got changed into some sweatpants and a tank top and got under the covers, falling asleep almost as soon as her head hit the pillow.

Back at the high school…

The Glee club was pulled into silence. Everyone's mouth closed when Sue came in and no one knew what to say.

"Well?" Sue spoke, "I'm waiting. What the hell is going on in here and where is Fabray?" Sue asked, eyebrows furrowed.
