Chapter Two:
One Heck of A Way to Wake Up...
"Weeeeeeeeee!"
Saya clung tight to Parker, her arms wrapped around the red-haired Inkling's neck, as the web-slinging squid swung through Inkopolis. The concert had ended less than fifteen minutes ago, and now, Parker was taking his girlfriend on a swing through Inkopolis. Saya, who could take the form of a squid, was enjoying the ride with her boyfriend.
Parker swung around the nearby tower, the web-line thwipped to the top, and Saya braced herself as the spider-y superhero Inkling boy swung them over the cityscape, swinging higher and higher until they were near the very top. And then, Parker let go, diving towards the streets below, then he thwipped at the last minute.
"WOOHOOHOOHOOOOOOO!" Parker and Saya cried together. Parker grasped his web, and swung with his body, swinging over Inkopolis' streets and Saya leaned against his neck. He passed a tower complex, heading all the way to a nearby apartment roof.
Parker swooped in, landing gently on the rooftop of the building, and Saya climbed off, kissing him on the nose happily.
"You were amazing." The golden-haired Inkling girl said.
In response, Parker scooped Saya into his arms, holding her gently, and she looped her arms around the Spider-Squid's neck. Both Inklings locked eyes, gazing longingly into each other's souls, and Parker couldn't advert his attention from Saya's beauty just as she was unable to look away from his handsomeness.
Then, he began to think about how their friends were doing. One friend in particular came to mind. Parker pulled out his phone from his pocket, and brought up the text window. He scrolled through the menu, then he selected the chat board with Makerboy, and texted; 'Hey, just chilling with Saya. How are you?'
No response, even after a couple of minutes.
"He's probably just tired and sleeping." Saya told Parker.
Parker yawned and put his phone away. "Like me." He said, "You wanna slip away to your place for the night?"
"More than you can imagine." Saya whispered, she pulled the squid boy into a kiss, which Parker returned out of the loving kindness of his heart, and instigated a light make-out on the rooftop beneath the stars.
-Meanwhile-
Makerboy sighed as he unzipped his red sweater and placed it on the floor next to his boots. The Inkling boy stood shirtless by the bed, wearing only his shorts, revealing his slim torso. He stretched, then swept a hand over his head to wipe away another trace of sweat, but the headache was still there.
He looked at himself in the bedroom mirror, seeing his shirtless reflection. The door opened and Agent 8 walked in, carrying a wet cloth.
"We'll just need to put this on your head until your fever goes away." She said to the Inkling.
Makerboy lay on the bed, groaning as another headache hit him. Agent 8 walked to his bedside and placed the cloth on the squid boy's forehead, then she climbed on top of the bed next to her boyfriend and placed a hand up to his cheek, then she pulled away and looked at him with concern.
"You do have a fever!" Agent 8 commented, "Oh, I hope it doesn't get worse. And that bite was real nasty."
"I'll be okay, babe." Makerboy told her, "Whatever happens, its good you are here to take care of me. Where would I be without a woman as pretty as you?"
Agent 8 lay on the Inkling's shirtless body as he pulled back the covers, then the shapely Octoling kissed him tenderly, and Makerboy kissed her back. He made sure the cloth didn't fall off, and started making out with Agent 8, gently caressing her face while they kissed, and cusped her smooth hips once more, then they pulled back.
Makerboy folded an arm around his gorgeous girlfriend, and Agent 8 lay against his shoulder, she cooed with a sweet smile and closed her eyes. Makerboy switched the lights off, then he drifted off to sleep with the gorgeous Agent 8 in his arms.
He lay upon the spider-web, wondering where he was. He moved an arm, seeing he was free. The green-haired Inkling stood up, he looked down, seeing he was wearing nothing but boxers. He scratched his head, wondering what was even going on. Then he looked up, seeing a bright light. And then, it appeared, a spider dangling from a web.
The spider's legs twitched and it lowered itself until it could nearly touch Makerboy's nose. A voice spoke, telling the Inkling to embrace the gift he was given.
Gift, what gift?
Makerboy felt someone hold his hand and he looked to his left, seeing Agent 8 by his side, wearing a silk dress that accentuated every inch of her lovely figure. She nodded to him, telling the squid it would be alright and she would be at his side. Feeling confident, he looked towards the spider and reached out, closing his hand around the small arachnid.
A light filled his eyes, then he heard music and heard someone singing. He looked up, seeing someone, a woman hanging upside down on a web and spinning. One look at her hair, and he saw it was an Octoling. Not just any Octoling. It was Agent 8, and she looked stunning.
He looked up towards Agent 8, seeing her wearing a skimpy silk-made costume, as she twirled around on the web-line as if she were dancing around a pole. And her voice filled his ears, her song echoing in his mind, even if he wouldn't remember the lyrics later. Makerboy stood mesmerized, listening to her voice:
"You received a bite, but you don't need to be afraid.
"There's no need to fight, your pain is about to fade.
"Embrace your destiny, it won't mean the end of your own humanity.
"All it takes is a leap of faith, never give up hope.
"Stand strong, face all that is wrong, stand fast upon the perilous slope.
"Never forget, there aren't that few, and you have that special someone who always loves you..."
She descended from the web, floating gracefully towards Makerboy, who held out his hands. Agent 8 came closer, her arms folding around the Inkling, and she kissed him. A light gleamed around them, and they embraced in their love.
Just then, Makerboy heard a sound, and he looked up. Agent 8 pulled back, staring at him, and she said, "Don't lose hope."
Her voice sounded distant when she said that. As Makerboy watched, the woman he loved faded into the darkness, and another light flashed. Another spider appeared for a moment, then Makerboy felt the world around him fading away. And he wondered what was even happening...
He opened his eyes, finding himself back in the bedroom, with Agent 8 in bed with him. A light poured through the window, a light he recognized as sunlight. He looked over at his bedside desk, looking at the clock and reading the time; 7:45 A.M.
"Good morning."
Makerboy turned to gaze into his girlfriend's loving eyes, and they embraced in a deep kiss. They pulled away and the Octoling reached up to the squid boy's head, pulling away the cloth, and she felt his face. She gasped happily and kissed him on the neck. "My boyfriend's all better now." The Octoling said happily.
The Inkling male hugged the love of his heart. "Thank you so much, Agent 8." He said, "You mean the world..." Just then, he noticed something about his physique.
"Hey, babe? Did I work out last night?" He asked.
Agent 8 leaned up, looking at Makerboy all over. She then looked into his face, mesmerized by what she was seeing. "Wow." She said, "You... You have more muscle than the night before. Alex, you look amazing."
Makerboy flexed his arm. "Didn't see that coming and..." He frowned, "Uh, why am I feeling something sticky under the covers?"
He pulled back the sheets and yelped, seeing a sticky white substance on his hand. Agent 8 gasped, then she giggled and pecked Makerboy on the cheek as the Inkling started to blush. "I don't know what happened, but that dream must have been really hot." Makerboy quipped.
"Were you thinking about me a lot?" Agent 8 asked with a sweet smile.
"Wait a second..." Makerboy studied the white stuff closely, "That's web!"
"Oh my gosh, its coming out of your wrist!" Agent 8 exclaimed.
"I remember that you tended to my fever and we just went to bed last night." Makerboy rubbed his forehead, "I guess I was too tired to do anything else with you."
He climbed out of bed and looked at himself in the mirror. Makerboy looked at the somewhat muscular green-haired squid staring back at him. He flexed his shoulder and his reflection did the same. Makerboy then flexed his muscles, and grinned. He looked at his hand, seeing that the marks from the spider bite had faded.
"You look so handsome!" Agent 8 said happily, climbing out of bed, and leaning on Makerboy's shoulder with her arms around his torso.
Makerboy then flicked his wrist and a sticky web shot out, impacting the wall. His eyes lit up, he flicked his wrist again and a web stuck to the side of the mirror. Makerboy looked at Agent 8, seeing how amazed she was.
"See if you can climb the wall." She suggested.
'Okay.'
Makerboy walked to the bedroom wall and placed a hand on it, he felt his fingers sticking to the wall, and placed another hand on it. Same thing. He looked at Agent 8, who was watching curiously. And then, Makerboy lifted his foot and put it on the wall. Before he knew it, he was climbing the wall on all fours.
He climbed and climbed, climbing all the way to the ceiling, and he didn't even fall off. He wove around the poster of a bikini-clad anime girl playing beach ball with an swimsuit-clad Octoling, and climbed onto the ceiling. Makerboy looked at himself, completely amazed.
The Inkling looked down at his Octoling soulmate, who brought out her Octo-phone to likely snap a picture of it. Agent 8 was just as amazed as her boyfriend was. Makerboy breathed slowly, crawling to the middle of the ceiling. And then, he laughed with excitement and whooped.
"Now this is one heck of a way to wake up!" Makerboy cried.
"Can you spin a web on the ceiling?" Agent 8 asked.
"Lets see if I can." Makerboy took a deep breath as his heart beat half-intensely until it launched into a drumroll. The handsome Inkling looked at his wrist, then he looked at his girlfriend as she watched him eagerly. Makerboy took another deep breath, thought of how he would spin his ceiling web.
He looked down at Agent 8 again and, she nodded encouragingly to him. The Octoling believed in Makerboy, and he loved her so much. With her support, he prepared to spin the web.
'One, two, three.' Makerboy flicked his wrist and another web burst forth, sticking to the ceiling, and the Inkling started to spin it until he was forming a line. Makerboy grabbed the web and crawled down the narrow thread until he wasn't even on the ceiling anymore. He was hanging upside down!
"You did it!" Agent 8 cried, clapping her hands excitedly.
Makerboy lowered himself a little until he was locking eyes with his girlfriend. Agent 8 giggled in the same cute manner Makerboy would hear her giggle in, then he chuckled too. And then, their eyes lit up at the same time as an idea burst into their minds.
Makerboy leaned closer towards Agent 8, who gently cupped his face, and the two cephalopods kissed. Makerboy's heart fluttered, and Agent 8's tentacles danced a little. Their eyes drooped, and their hearts did a swan dance as Makerboy made out with Agent 8 while hanging from the ceiling above.
"Just like in a movie, huh?" Makerboy remarked when they broke the kiss.
"It feels like a dream." Agent 8 said with an elated smile, "An amazing dream that I don't ever want to wake up from. Just seeing you with a muscular body, with spider powers, you're so adorable, Alex. I never thought something like that would even happen."
"And this has to be from the spider bite I got last night." The green-haired Inkling quipped, "I didn't think that would ever happen. The only one who ever got spider-like superpowers from being bit by a spider is..." He gasped, "Oh my cod! OH MY COD! OH MY FISHING COD!"
"What?" Agent 8 asked.
"Parker!" Makerboy thwipped a web towards the desk and grabbed his phone, "When he finds out, and when Inkopolis sees another Inkling with spider powers, things are gonna be crazy..."
Makerboy turned on his phone, finding that he got a message from Parker the previous night just as he was going to bed; 'Hey, just chilling with Saya. How are you?'
'Hey, man...' Makerboy texted, 'I had a fever last night, but I'm okay now. Just making out with Agent 8. Man, I got somethin' to show you, I'll pop by your place later if that's okay. Lots to talk about. See ya.'
'Morning, buddy.' Parker texted back, 'Glad you're okay. See ya soon.'
"Looks like we're gonna have another Spider-Squid." Agent 8 said teasingly as she pinched Makerboy's cheek.
"Dang, there's so much I can do with these powers. And Parker helps people." Makerboy nodded, "Heck, I could use my powers to protect others from harm, keep Inkopolis safe from crimewaves, and I could be a sort of partner to Parker. However, I am gonna need a costume and mask, so things don't get awkward when people see me."
"Relax, Alex." Agent 8 kissed him on the nose, "You just got your powers, there's no rush. Take your time, and test your powers first. There is so much you can do with them. Right now, why don't we get breakfast?"
Makerboy climbed down from his web and put an arm around Agent 8 with a dreamy smile. "That's not a bad idea." He said, "Would you like some pancakes this morning?"
"I'd love some pancakes, Spider-Boy." Agent 8 said with a smile.
"Let me go make some for us." Makerboy kissed her on the cheek.
Just then, Agent 8 took the green-haired Inkling's hand, holding it tightly, and she stroked his sturdy shoulder while smiling in a sultry manner at him. "How about we have some fun before we have breakfast first?" The Octoling suggested to Makerboy, talking in a half-whisper.
Makerboy processed his girlfriend's suggestion, then he smiled eagerly. And then, he had Agent 8 lay down on the bed. He flicked his wrists, webbing the Octoling to the sheets by the wrists as if he were cuffing Agent 8. And then, Makerboy lay atop of her, claiming his love in a fiery kiss that led into a very spicy make-out session before they went to the next level...
