Chapter 49

→ Karak-Ar-Araz / Arachama ←

Arachama, still on her couch, cuddled with Zesshi. It was relaxing for her and she could concentrate better that way. She felt Zesshi relax as well and thus continued to stroke her daughter's hair. Suddenly the door was opened and a group of dwarfs, mostly younger ones, marched in.

For a second both, Arachama and the seemingly high-king, stared at one another. Then the dwarf began to fume and warriors in heavy armor and armed with hammers moved.

"Who are you and how dare you to desecrate the holy room of my kingdom?" was heard when the door opened once again.

Ironspine entered the room, which had fallen completely silent. Zesshi glared at the high-king and Arachama was perplexed.

"What is wrong with him?" she asked herself, engulfing Zesshi in an even tighter hug to make sure nothing would happen.

"Lady Arachama, may I introduce you to our high-king, Grommel Bonebart?" Ironspine introduced and the high-king bolstered his chest, though his abdomen wobbled a bit.

"That I am. But why is there such a thing in our Karaz?" he asked, pointing towards her.

"She is from our allies. I thought it would be prudent to give them our hospitality." Ironspine explained and the face of Grommel changed slightly, before getting back to showing pride and arrogance.

"That is the minimum. Now then. We should proceed with the problem at hand." Grommel stated and Gongrimm sighed.

"The problem we face is of greater threat for both of our parties, Lady Arachama. The Skaven, a species of ratmen, are rediscovered. We don't know how vast their network is, but we can be sure that they could attack nearly anywhere, if the last war with them is anything to go by." Gongrimm described.

"Sounds interesting for Nazarick. If only for the network these ratmen have." she thought.

She then remembered something she heard from Demiurge.

"What do they look like?" she inquired.

"The head of a rat, the torso of a human, bipedal but rat-like appendages and a tail the length of their body. They are usually a bit smaller and weaker than a human. But they are numerous." Gongrimm described and she nodded.

"I would like to contact one of my subordinates. He was attacked a short while back by something fitting the picture. Afterwards I will move out." Arachama proposed and saw many of the older dwarfs nodd in praise while the younger ones looked curiously at her.

"Now then, Zesshi, we should go." she nudged and Zesshi agreed.

They left the council chamber and the palace while being accompanied by Ironspine.

"Demiurge, I will need your help. Are you free?" she contacted him using "Message".

"I am free, Lady Arachama. We got more information on the wanna-be assassins. If you could open a "Gate"." he answered and Arachama casted.

A moment later Demiurge came through and bowed towards her.

"Good evening, Lady Arachama." he greeted and she nodded.

"Good evening." she replied and the group continued towards the gate, where the corpses of skaven were collected and burned.

"Are these similar to the attackers?" she asked and Demiurge nodded.

"Indeed." he confirmed and Arachama began to smile.

"Then we better move out. There is the mine from where they attacked?" she inquired as they entered a contraption, which was similar to an elevator.

"Yes. There are two ways, one leads under the Karak, the other likely to their territory." Ironspine said and her plan was hatched.

"Then I better start."Summon Jorogumo"." she summoned a Jorogumo who immediately bowed towards her.
"Please use flames to enlighten our way." she ordered and immediately small flames filled the room with light. Then the group moved. The Jorogumo formed the tip while Zesshi, Arachama and Ironspine formed the middle. Demiurge assumed the role of the rearguard.

It took some time but soon they found a shaft, which went further down. Arachama first observed the shaft. Ironspine meanwhile went back to get a second elevator, so that the group could continue.

"Shouldn't we wait for him?" Zesshi inquired.

"Not needed. I can teleport us all to the ground, as I can see it from here." Arachama smiled.

She thus got a torch from her inventory and used three sticks pointing towards the shaft.

"When he returns he knows where we have gone." She explained and used "Greater Teleportation" to bring them a level down. Darkness engulfed them for now, as she thought about any way to proceed.

It took some time for Arachama and her two companions to observe the parameter around the shaft. It was safe, for now, and thus they continued to search. It took some time before Arachama had enough.
"Neuronist?" she asked over "Message".

"Yes, Lady Arachama?" came the reply.

"Could you send one of Demiurges' prisoners over here? I need them shackled and obedient. Is that possible?" she inquired.

"Of course. I have one that is already broken. Could you cast "Gate", please?" she asked.

Thus Arachama casted "Gate" and a skaven was pushed through.

Demiurge was seemingly face palming while Zesshis eyebrows rose higher. The skaven meanwhile shivered and looked at Demiurge in panic.

"Can you lead us towards your former leaders? I am bored." Arachama ordered and the skaven almost fell unconscious.

"By tailed one, yes-yes." it squeaked and began to move towards the wall opposite the shaft. After a short pattern was drawn it opened and the group felt stupid.

The advance continued further, again arrows and torches were placed to signal their way. After a long while they entered a wider cavity. This time though there was an enemy. A sea of red eyes glared at them and the squeaking got louder.

"Seems like we got a warm welcome. "Summon: Dschungel Children"." She casted.

The sea of rats, which was unending thanks to their numbers, and the sea of spiders, unending because Arachama continued to summon again and again, crashed into each other. The skaven bit, chewed, clawed, sliced and smashed upon spiders while the spiders bite back against the skaven.

This massacre was finally decided when the skaven began to waver and then flee. The spiders followed in pursuit while the group of explorers looked at the corpses. They were underfed and nearly worked to death already.

"Such a shame the spell went for nothing but canon fodder." she sighed.

"Indeed. But it can work as a show of force." Demiurge reminded her.

"Then we should continue. I want to see my children again as soon as possible." she grumbled and the group continued.

→ Border Baharut and Wyvern Tribes / Leinas ←

Since her task-force had begun to move out Leinas missed what felt like a new home for her. The twins play pranks on everyone, Zesshi and her sparings and Arches glare when she hears Zesshi and her talk in the vicinity of Arches study place. Ninya and Entoma, both of which were a bit miffed all the time and then there was Tuare and Arachne. She missed them.

But for now she had to play her role and thus she was commanding a secondary force for Baharut. Fluder was already his usual self and observed everything he could, aside from playing with one of Arachamas gifts. Leinas herself was occupied with said thoughts and memories.

Nimble meanwhile was looking over the map and directing them towards the lair of the wyverns. That is until Leinas grew confused.

"Why the hell do they only breed there?" she threw an annoyed glare into the direction of their travel.

"It is quite simple, really. The cliffs there are much steeper than the mountains of the countryside. Thus it is safer for their offspring." Fluder explained and Leinas only grew more annoyed.

"Is there anything else we can get a closer look at?" she asked.

"Not that I know, but you never know in these lands." Fluder replied.

The troop continued to march the rest of the day. Nothing special happened and the progress was even greater than expected. In the early evening they made camp and prepared food and shelter.

While staring into the campfire none of them felt at ease. Always like a prey against a predator that would lurk behind every bush.

None got any sleep and yet they continued forward, doing their duty.

→ Close to Skavenhaven / Arachama ←

After following the tunnel for what felt like an eternity the group observed that it got wider again. The walls also began to glow toxic green and Arachama realized the potential within these green data-crystals, if they were to be mined and purified.

As they got to the end of the tunnel they could see a perversion of a human city or a dwarven karaz. Large towers stretched to the roof and the putrid smell ripped into their nose. The towers emitted black and toxic-green smog. She could identify forges, in which fire burned green. She could understand how the society worked, as she could see many beaten up skaven fight over the remains of another skaven. She was disgusted, as it reminded her of her old world.

"Uff. It smells disgusting." Arachama said, holding the contents of her last meal inside, which was made harder for her by the looks of the city itself.

"It is unworthy of your presence, Lady Arachama. Should I destroy it?" Demiurge asked, annoyed that the pests dared to disgust his master.

"Not necessary. The value they might have…" she tried, but stopped to keep her own stomach inside.

"I can lead to leaders, yes-yes." the prisoner promised as another shiver swept over him.

"Then we should move again. Zesshi, be ready. Demiurge can we use your shadow demons to spy on them?" she asked and Demiurge nodded.

So they got closer and closer to this hellhole. The towers grew larger and larger, the cesspools wider and wider and soon she could differentiate between multiple species of skaven.

Some were heavily built with muscles, but also seemingly stupid. Others were like her guide. She was also sure that she saw a gigantic, naked rat, which carried a large chest on its back and constantly screamed in pain.

"Intruder-Attacker! Kill-maim strange things!" The group heard and immediately got ready.

This time their attacker was better fed and equipped. Spears were thrusted towards them, followed by crude swords. Zesshi took exception to that and began a massacre. Heads and limbs flew. Corpses strew in these streets. Demiurge held back the enemy, which managed to surround them. The summon burned wave after wave of the enemy. Arachama meanwhile began to summon wave after wave of spiders.

The massacre continued for a while when Arachama noticed a difference in their attacker. It first started with single individuals but then they got more and more. Bulky skaven the size of ogres attacked them alongside better armed and armored rat-men. Halberds were trying to cut them while gigantic drills, teeth and fists tried to rip them apart.

"Die-die." was shouted as Arachama saw something she thought wouldn't be seen in this world.

One of the rats carried a multi barreled contraption, not unsimilar to a gatling-gun. It soon opened fire and the ammunition tore through the ranks of the enemy. Arachama brought herself between her daughter and this contraption, while Demiurge did the same with Arachama.

Some stray bullets found their way around Demiurge and were closing in on Arachama.

Luckily their "High Tier Physical Immunity" kicked in and thus the shots were deflected.

"I need a free line of sight, Demiurge." Arachama ordered and Demiurge got aside.

"Eat this."Pyroclastic Wave"." Arachama casted and a large wave of fire burned itself with enormous speed towards its target, killing all skaven in the way and turning them into coal.

Slowly, but surely, the skaven attack began to slow and waver until the attack collapsed into itself. The remaining skaven fled while Arachamas group rested for a short while.

"Are you ok Zesshi?" Arachama asked, looking over her daughter for any sign of injury, illness or even a touched hair. Afterwards she looked over her summons.

"I am great, I have finally stretched my muscles a bit." Zesshi giggled and hugged Arachama. They remained like this though Arachama continued to check her summons over.

Demiurge meanwhile waited patiently and observed the surroundings with seemingly great interest.

After a short while, in which Arachama calmed down, the group began to move again.

"Anything interesting?" Arachama asked Demiurge.

"Yes. I already have some ideas for my farm." he answered.

"Such a nice fellow, already making plans to avoid such a hellscape." she thought and nodded.

"That is good. You can always learn from your foe." she smiled.

Thus the group continues, closely followed by shadows.

→ Castellum in Wyvern Tribe lands / Plumbus ←

The first week of his assignment was a rude awakening for Plumbus. First was the logistical nightmare. Not because their rations would stay behind. That couldn't happen, as long as they could protect their mages. The problem came from the fact that they couldn't move forward.

It was a vicious trap, but a clever one. If they stay where they are, then they are no threat and would be slowly picked apart. On the other hand the mountains made any move forwards to hell, as it would turn them into free pickings. Especially if he wouldn't give up his artillery. But the artillery was one of his only two tools to effectively combat the enemy. He also did not wish to move backwards, as it would free the enemy soldier, who are currently circling in the sky.

With all that in mind Plumbus thought about a plan to move forwards, but found no reliable one, for now.

"But the main part of the war is to enable the task force to diminish their supply in wyvern. Wyvern themselves live relatively short lives. Barely getting older than ten years and only breeding in the last three." he summarized in his head and looked out of his tent.

Their camp was inside the forest, which they hadn't cut down to get more cover from the air, especially since most of their air forces were now six feet under. Thus it was a bit more chaotic than a normal camp, but it was still secured on the ground by some walls and ditches.

"But we can hold out here. Thus enabling the task force to attack where it hurts them." he thought and decided his next move. He waved his second in command over.

"Fortify out camp. If possible get some nets and get them over our heads. We will dig ourselves in this shithole." he ordered and immediately his subordinate got moving.

"I hope the task force will be fast with their objective." he sighed.

→ Skavenhaven / Bubonica ←

The day had begun great for her, but sadly it had gone awry in the evening. First she received news that the slaves she had sent were no more. That wasn't as bad, as they could still be fed to her other slaves. But then she heard that the intruder was moving towards Skavenhaven. This was bad and great and she prepared accordingly.

If the enemy would be subdued she would order her monks forward to give the enemy the final blow. If the enemy proved stronger than expected her monks would remain to take the entrance of clan Krictins burrows, thus forcing them to comply to her whims, while she would negotiate with them and the intruder. It would be far better to have them and her future goals on her side than to die in an unneeded battle.

Thus she moved towards the council chamber and sat down with the others. Only five were present. Zip-Zap and three warlords, Axric, Dustmouth and Slaz were their names if she remembered correctly.

She sat herself closest to Zip-Zap.

"Where is Sneak Nightsnout?" she inquired.

"He left-gone around noon after the meeting-talk. Something about-on the overworld." her goal answered.

"Good-nice." she smirked and saw Zip-Zaps fur stirring.

The warlords meanwhile boasted to each other how they would kill the intruder when the doors flew open, and then out of their holdings. They landed on the ground and she decided to lean back.

"Die-die for Great Tailed One!" One of the warlords squealed and charged, a halberd in claws.

The demon amongst the intruder elongated his fingernails to claws and slashed again and over again onto this warlord.

"Anyone else or are we going to talk now?" a new figure asked.

It was one of two arachne. Bubonica knew arachne, as she had met one individual again and again a long time ago. A courtesy of being created by a god.

The other two warlords charged at the demon and the arachne. She was now interested and couldn't wait. The demon grabbed one and threw it back towards her.

The other warlord was taken out quickly.

"If I die then at least without open revenge plots." She thought.

"Remember Dustmouth? How you threaten-wanted me 472 years-circles ago?" she asked as the warlord tried to stand up.

It had been a nasty threat upon her, though fruitless.

Dustmouth opened and closed his mouth over and over again.

"Don't worry-worry, you don't need-must to, as I know-know." she said and forcefully closed his mouth with her pox ridden hand and pressed him back to the floor.

She observed her surroundings and saw all the others looking at her.

Her magic engulfed her in green fumes, which then seeped into dustmouth through every pore of his skin. Her spit, which freely drooled out of her mouth through holes in her cheek, fell onto his face, body and fur. After a few seconds she stopped and retook her hand.

"Feel the blessing-gift of the Great Tailed One, heretic-scum." she smirked as she saw her enemy.

Dustmouth stood up in haste, but it was already too late.

→ Skavenhaven / Arachama ←

Once they had gotten closer Arachama had sent the Jorogumo to the eighth floor before they entered the building. After a while they had entered the council-chamber, which their guide had shown them, and were attacked. But that attack was easily deflected. Two were already dead and now she stared at the third attacker.

He developed boils, gashes, necrotic tissue and much more in front of their eyes. Then blood flowed out of his mouth, eyes and pores. It lasted for roughly a minute, though she felt that it took the whole night. The warlord, once healthy and well fed when he stood up, was nothing more than a plague ridden corpse when it fell back onto the ground.

The room was in complete silence and stared at the female skaven, who looked around.

"Now that this-that is done. Lets chitter-chatter about packt-deal." she smirked and sat down again.

"What abou..:" the, as Arachama had mentally baptized it, cyborg skaven tried.

"You are mine-mine now, Zip-Zap. Sit down and wait-expect my attention." she ordered and he followed her orders.

"Fine-Fine." she said, and Arachama felt the smile of the female.

"Now back to barter-deal. What is it you want-want?" she inquired.

At that moment some skaven entered. They wore toxic-green and black clothing. Censers that were similar to flails. All of them were covered in poxes, boils and more, though not as much as the female.

"Report-tell me." she ordered.

"Did-fulfilled order. Entrance to forgeburrow under control-command." one of them reported.

"What is this folly-betray?" Zip-Zap fumed.

"Clan Pestin is taking over-in control now." The female smiled and stroked the fur of Zip-Zap affectionately while shivering in ecstasy.

Demiurge meanwhile stepped forth.

"Nazaricks supreme beings, in their unfathomable wisdom, have already planned your role in their 10 000 year scheme. You can continue your existence under the following condition. You will follow the orders of Nazarick in word, spirit and with great enthusiasm. Any questions?" Demiurge smiled.

A pause crept uneasily over the chamber.

"You speak as if Nazarick is a god, but only the Great Tailed One is a god!" the female smirked.

"No. The rulers of Nazaricks aren't gods. That would be insulting. They are supreme beings and thus above gods." Demiurge replied with venom.

"Ahem. If I could?" Arachama threw in.

"Of course, Lady Arachama." Demiurge replied and stepped aside.

"I think you have no position to barter. We practically burned your city down. There are no more forces than are here and said clans entrance. In other words, your side has lost. I give you thus two options. We could annihilate you easily. I would even be able to get reinforcement to get it done faster, especially since I want back to my children as fast as possible.

The other option would be to surrender. You will follow Nazaricks rule. That entails to cease any attacks on the dwarfs. In return we are willing to provide food and leave you to your own ruling. I'll let you choose now." Arachama explained.

The silence again filled the room, though some of the new skaven turned their head towards the female, who was already hugging the skaven-cyborg.

"I have condition-demand of my own. I want-demand to be single ruler-queen of my kin-kin. Especially by absorbing-getting two other clan-packs under my control-command." she stated.

Demiurge was about to react when Arachama placed a hand on his shoulder.

"I don't care what you do, unless of course you go against Nazaricks order." she told the skaven.

"Done." the female smirked and grabbed the cyborg-skaven by the neck before pulling him along.

"That could have ended much worse." Arachama thought, until a glance at her daughter showed that she had a fever. Arachama immediately feared for Zesshis wellbeing.

"Good. First order is that the attack on the dwarfs cease. The second is to close the shaft we used. I leave the guide here to show you the way we got here. Take good care of him." she smiled.

"Promise-done. We take care-help the guide." the female nodded.

"Then we will leave."Gate"." She casted. Zesshi went first, followed by Arachama before she went through though she stopped shortly.

"Don't make us return here, or you and your kin will find no mercy." she heard Demiurge promise before he walked through as well.

They stood in the mansion. It was already dark and all was quiet.

"Zesshi, you will rest and remain in your room. Your forehead is like an oven." Arachama ordered.

"Tscheee. Yes, mom." Zesshi responded and gave a hug.

"Good. Enti will bring food and tea for you tomorrow." she promised and kissed her daughter on the forehead.

→ Karak-Ar-Araz Councilchambers / Ironspine ←

It had finally been done and the second elevator was finished. But before he could depart to support their allies' expedition a messenger came running.

"The guests returned and want to speak with the council, including you." the ranger stated.

"Heh? Why did I get a second elevator posthaste if they simply used magic to teleport down the shaft?" he asked himself, especially since he could have had a chance to fight the enemy and maybe cross a few grudges out of the Damaz Kron. He sighed and wanted to facepalm at this situation.

With heavy feet he began to move towards the chamber. He climbed the stairs, which seemed to get longer and longer each time, and finally arrived at his destination. This time though he was already a bit out of breath.

As soon as he entered he got to his usual seat and sat down. He observed the leader of Nazaricks party placing a big pillow onto the ground and sitting down. They waited for a while until the majority of the older dwarfs were there. The younger ones were still missing, to the fuming of the ones already present. After five minutes of waiting, and convincing Arachama to not leave, the high-king arrived.

"So he finally arrived?" Ironspine asked, awakening from his trance.

"Yes, quite impolite, aint it?" Powdernose asked.

"Yes. But normally he does get away with it, mostly because his authority is recognised by us. But by the ancestors, I doubt that it will work with our guests." Ironspine answered.

"What do you mean?" his friend inquired.

"There was a time where I met individuals like our guest. Let me tell you. I would have trouble if I even could defeat one of them. What do you think the rest of our kin could do against them, and we don't know if these are the only ones. But perhaps our high-king thinks we have enough meat to suffocate them under our weight?" Ironspine whispered.

"Good luck with that. After today this kingdom of theirs has a great standing with clan Firebeard. I heard she even wants to talk to their council." a third voice, belonging to Gotrek informed them.

"Another reason not to make any of the two our enemies." Ironspine hissed.

"But would they really…?" Powdernose asked.

"They don't swear fealty towards a king. They only care for their craft. Thus yes, if their craft can profit from it they would. And it would be disastrous for us." Ironspine sighed.

"Why would that be?" Powdernose inquired.

"Believe me when I say that Gondoric left his clan quite a legacy." Gongrimm smiled, hiding a laugh.

"So that is why they celebrate right now?" Powedernose concluded.

"Yep. But look at the face of the arachne. She seems quite annoyed right now." Gotrek pointed out.

→ Karak-Ar-Araz / Arachama ←

Arachama was quite annoyed. Not only had she received a message that Zesshis health had gotten worse, she was waiting for the dwarven high-king. Not only had he demanded a report, which was understandable, but he waited too late. She even had to hold Demiurge back, as he was fuming as well.

She was just about to start without the high-king, when he walked into the chamber, bolstering about the swift defense of the Karak and how his kin will be safe. But the more interesting parts were less obvious. She witnessed Gotrek, Gongrimm and a third dwarf whispering to each other. The other thing she noticed was a palpable divide between the kingdom, something Nazarick could use.

But as the high-king further boasted about her accomplishment as his if they were his own she sighed and shook her head.

"I can't wait to meet clan Firebeard. They are seemingly enjoyable." she thought.

"Lady Arachama?" she heard from Demiurge, who shook her out of her thoughts.

"Yes, Demiurge?" she asked.

"There is a situation, which needs immediate attention. If you permit, I could take care of it in your name, Though your safety…" he proposed.

"That sounds good. I myself will leave, whatever this 'meeting' is in roughly ten minutes and go to the Firebeards. Don't worry about safety, as I can contact anyone from Nazarick." she nodded.

Demiurge thus took a scroll with "Gate" and disappeared soon after, which meant that she was now alone. Her summon was dispatched to the eighth floor, Zesshi was ill and now Demiurge was doing something.

"Now then, for an abomination you did well." the high-king smiled.

The room was immediately quiet.

"I'm sorry, what?" she asked.

"You did well." The high king boasted.

She could see Gotrek and Gongrimm sweat. The other dwarfs did not look much better.

"I am glad to promise that the skaven will not harass your underway any longer. Now then. I have business to do." Arachama smiled and left the room, being as polite as the high-king. She was fuming inside and needed to let off some steam.

She walked for a while outside the karaz until she calmed down. It just so happened that some of the rocks were now sand.

"Now to the Firebeards. Hopefully they dont treat me like that twat." she thought, sighting Gongrimm on his way to 'The Forge'.

Once she was there the oldest runelords and Gondo greeted her and led her to a chamber.

"I hope the meeting with the high-king went as planned?" one of them asked.

"It certainly went somewhere, but I don't think I liked it." she sighed.

"Such a shame. But back on track. We heard about a proposal from you." one of them inquired.

"Yes. I know a bit about runecraft, especially once you reach a certain level. Thus I have a proposition. I would support your clan in its research of said craft. By chance we could even begin to trade and exchange information." she smiled as she sipped from a mug. The ale tasted magnificent.

"Hmm. You helped our clan greatly. Sadly we fear the high-king will further act against us. We might want either a military alliance or an oath of safety from you." another threw in.

"That wouldn't be a problem, as long as I can position one of my friends within the karaz. Though I hope you would have no problem with living in a village if it would go so far…" she nodded.

"Then we better get oathgold." Gondo nodded, a stern flame in his eyes, as he stood up to get some of that precious metal.

"That was certainly fire in his eyes." she whistled as she looked around, observing said fire in all of their eyes.

"As is only proper for our clan." Another runelord smiled, refilling her mug.

Soon Gondo returned and brought the runegold, already inscribed. She read it over and signed it.

"I, Arachama of Nazarick, swear to offer protection and aid, should Nazaricks ally, clan Firebeard, ever need help. So mote it be." she swore, placing her right hand on the plate and her left up.

Gondo went to her and did the same with his hand.

"I, Gondo Firebeard, swear in the name of clan Firebeard to honor our ally. We will help them to understand our craft, we will aid them in times of need and we will honor the promised on this oathgold. So mote it be." Gondo recited and the runelords nodded along.

After the oaths were spoken two runelords brought mugs over and handed them to Arachama and Gondo.

"To our alliance, to our craft and to Nazarick." one runelord shouted as the mugs got into the air and the best ale she had ever got vanished into her stomach. Though she received much more of the precious for her mansion.

→ Karak-Ar-Araz / Gotrek Softhand ←

The meeting, after the one summoned had left, went as expected by him. The boasting continued, The grumbling continued. But most importantly the divide continued. Gotrek looked around. Powdernose had decided to leave, as did Gongrimm. As he looked further he realized that the older clan heads had already left.

Deep in the night the younger dwarfs left and only the high-king, his hammerers and Gotrek were still in the chambers.

"Why are you still here?" the high-king inquired.

"For one simple reason. You insulted our guest." Gotrek sighed.

"And? What are they going to do? Attack? We would win." the high-king laughed.

"I wouldn't be so sure about that. We need them for trade. Their military might is stronger than ours." Gotrek tried.

"We can beat them easily." the high-king overplayed.

"Nazarik defeated the skaven in one day. Something we havent managed within more than 600 years." Gotrek reasoned.

"Irrelevant. I am sure we will manage." Bonebart responded, annoyance in his voice.

"If you think that way. Good night." Gotrek sighed and left.

"I hope that the council has used this opportunity." he thought, his eyes darting towards 'The Forge'.

→ Skavenhaven / Bubonica ←

Bubonica was furious, no, angry. As she walked back and forth in the council chambers. Her monks were observing her with questioning glares. It lasted for roughly half an hour before anyone dared to move.

"What-what?" she demanded.

"Why fold-give in so easily?" One asked, before she grabbed him and tortured the monk with her disease.

"She is more stronger-dangerous than all of us." she hissed.

She despised the feeling of weakness.

"What we do now-now?" another monk asked.

"We follow their orders-commands while looking-watching for a weakness-exploit." she told them.

Soon a portal opened and the one called Demiurge stepped through.

"I hoped you would accept my Ladies mercy, but it seems that you still crave punishment…" he said.

"They know what we-me do before we-me do it. Where is their spy-traitor?" she thought as the demon grabbed her by her ear. She was dragged through a portal and would reemerge a few days later.

In that time she learned the greatness of the 'Bone-One' and the 'Many-Leg'. Thus clan Pestin would follow a new god.

AN: Again, I am sorry for the time it took. I still hope you enjoyed the chapter. If you did feel free to comment/ review. Until next time, ciao-
