He was a miracle, James Potter.

At eleven years old, he was more confident than the Seventh-year students.

He was the first one in the whole school to say 'Voldemort'. People stared at him, flinched, and quivered. Some shouted, and others hid.

"Don't say the name," Bellatrix had screeched across the hall. The Head Girl's words passed off as fear, but The Blacks knew how much she liked this Lord. James knew how much she liked him. His face made that clear.

"Fear of the name increases fear itself," James would say years later.

Back then, on Halloween in 1971, he shrugged. "I don't fear him. He won't last long. Ruling is not for Voldemort. He'll fail," Bellatrix would have killed him if Dumbledore had not interjected, telling everyone how brave James was. "You'll do great things one day!" Albus assured the self-assured James Potter, who already knew that.

James was horrible at keeping secrets but kept some of the most important ones. He'd known Remus was a Werewolf for almost a year when he and Peter caught on. He'd known for a year and kept to himself while he and Peter had confronted Remus within a week.

He came up with the idea to become an illegal animagi for Remus.

He also was the one who stopped Sirius and Remus from getting expelled in more than one way.

He always had been a miracle, and Sirius always told him this.

"This is the 66th time you've said so love," James laughed.

"You've been counting?"

"66 times since we've come together," James corrected himself.

"And before that?"

"4 times in letters and... 119 times in total," James said.

"You did keep count," Sirius said incredulously.

"He kept count of far more bizarre things, Sirius," Peter said.

"Like?"

"Remus!" Peter called. "We need JSC!"

"JSC?"

"James' Sirius Count!" Remus answered a minute later. "Here are all the things that we know James kept count of, and we know there's more,"

Sirius never showed it to James, who blushed whenever someone uttered 'JSC'.

Over 30 different things, all related to Sirius in some manner, along with how many times he'd done it, were mentioned in the book. Remus and Peter said that notes included 'How hot Sirius was' and 'How lucky I (James) am to be with Sirius' even though the opposite was true. He loved how much James loved him.

James Potter was a miracle.
