"Bye big brother, I'm gonna go now!" Hina shouted as she left the house with her school bag.
Kaito smiled at Hina who had already left, he was reminded of their struggles during childhood when WW3 first started. "I'm glad that she's been smiling a lot recently, just a few months ago she was still heavily affected by our parents death..."
Ring! Ring! Ring! Ring!
The phone rang across the room, Kaito looked at his phone that was placed on the coffee table in front of him. On the phone was the caller's name whom Kaito knew very well, or you could say one of the only people he calls his family.
He picked up his phone and looked at it for a bit due to hesitation, but upon thinking about it Kaito knew if he wanted to survive till the next day he would have to answer this call. "Sup Haru! What d'you want?"
"Good, took you long enough to answer my call…" Haru replied in an angry and disappointed voice. "Anyway, I'm gonna come to your house to pick you up."
"Wait, you're already back?! I thought your trip to Indonesia would take a couple of months?" Kaito's voice shook from what he had heard from Haru, after all he knew that her trip to Indonesia wasn't a trip for vacation, but instead to help the victims of the war there. "It's only been a week, yet you're gonna return now? Don't tell me that something happened?"
Kaito stood up and bit his fingernail from anxiousness, his eyes were shaking just from waiting at Haru's response.
"While we were taking care of the citizens, we were suddenly attacked by terrorists… Upon a couple of investigations and interrogation to the terrorists that we apprehended, we've discovered that these terrorists are Americans… Specifically, North Americans."
Rage was all Kaito could feel from the conversation, he clenched his fist tightly and punched the table so hard that his coffee mug flew and fell to the floor. "Again?! Despite the other continents halting their attacks, those damn North Americans are still continuing theirs?!"
Though the continents have stopped attacking other continents it does not mean that the war is over, even now other continents are sending spies to other continents and with the likes of North America still continuing their attacks, the war will never end… And the people of every country in the world will still continue to suffer from this never-ending war.
This stupid war… Will it ever end? No, even if the attacks have halted soon it will continue… After all, right now it's just the intermission of WW3. When the war started and each continent fought just to get the Holy Grail was the first chapter of this war, now that 5 out of 6 active continents have refrained from attacking, chapter 2 is about to begin soon…
Chapter 1 of the war, each country from each continent united as one and started attacking the other continents just so they could weaken the others. Chapter 1 was just the preparation of each continent and chapter 2 is when the rising point of this war story starts.
The intermission which is currently happening right now is about to end and chapter 2 is about to start… Chapter 2 of the war, known as the rising action in Kaito's eyes, is where the true chaos begins. After all, chapter 2 of WW3 is the beginning of the Holy Grail War.
It is the reason why WW3 started in the first place…. It is also the reason why everyone in the world is suffering…
"What about you?! Are you okay?! Did you get hurt?!" Kaito shouted on the phone in nervousness.
"Thanks Kaito, don't worry I'm okay, I didn't get a single scratch on me."
"That's good…" Kaito replied, finally at ease upon hearing Haru's answer.
"Anyway, I'm in front of your house right now. So hurry up and open it for me please."
Kaito rushed to open the door with a smile on his face. "Wait, I'm coming!"
Upon opening the door Kaito finally saw Haru on the other side, he smiled in joy as he hugged Haru tightly. "I'm glad… I'm truly glad that you're okay…"
Haru Watanabe, a beautiful girl with hair as white as snow. She is the childhood friend of Kaito Hoshikawa and also the daughter of the current Prime Minister of Japan Kenjie Watanabe. She is a talented, smart, and an amazing leader too, hence why the citizens of Japan adore and somewhat glorify her.
Most importantly of all, she is also serving as Kaito's assistant in the upcoming Holy Grail War. Despite not being in a magus family and having no magic circuit, it didn't stop her from studying magcraft and its concept. Which is why she's an important asset to Asia in the upcoming Holy Grail War.
Haru looked at Kaito with a serious look on her face. "Get dressed, we need to quickly meet my father."
At the clocktower was Lord El-Melloi II, he was inside his office doing some paperwork when a knock on the door disturbed him. "Come in."
The door opened, at the other side of the door was gray and another person. El-Melloi II looked at Gray with approval and nodded, signaling her to make a cup of tea for the guest and him.
Gray, having worked for El-Melloi II for a long time, understood what El-Melloi II meant when he nodded at her. She went to the corner of the office in which a box of fresh tea leaves is stored, she grabbed the highest-quality tea leaves and heated up the water for the tea.
"You may take a seat, heir of the Fontaine family: Colette De La Fontaine." El-Melloi II greeted as he pointed to the seat in front of his desk with his hand.
"Thanks for the hospitality, Lord El-Melloi II." Colette replied with a smile and took a seat.
"First of all…" El-Melloi II took out a folder from his desk and opened it, inside it were pictures of 7 items. "The clocktower has already gathered 7 relics for you to use as a catalyst for the Holy Grail War. There are other relics beside these 7 but first the clocktower wanted to show you these 7, since they believe that the servants you can get from these relics are top tier."
Colette grabbed the folder from El-Melloi II and looked at the 7 relics. "These are all interesting relics…
Gray, having already finished preparing the tea, put it at the desk and bowed after placing it.
"Thanks." Colette replied happily and took a sip of the tea. "What amazing aroma…"
"You're welcome." Gray responded with a massive smile on her face.
"Back to the topic." Colette put the cup back to the desk, he looked at the picture with a wryly smile. "Ruler though an ally to the Knights of the Round Table is one of the direct causes of their torment, so by having an ally that's a member of the Round Table means that Ruler would scheme something toward Europe?"
"As the Ruler-class of this war there are restrictions on what he can do, after all his first job as the Ruler is to ensure that the war wouldn't cause chaos, so you shouldn't worry about him and basing from his personality, we believe that he wouldn't even involve himself to the war."
"I'll trust you on that then, just note that I have a bad feeling about that Ruler." Colette sighed and took another sip of the tea, she looked at the other relics and stood up from her seat. "These relics are all that I'm looking for in a servant."
"That's good to hear…" El-Melloi II took the folder that contains the photos of the relics and put it back at his desk. "I believe that you're already aware that you'd be joining my classroom."
"Yes, so I can't wait to finally start going to school… Professor."
"This is advice to your professor and guide to the Holy Grail War… Remember that everyone in the Clocktower is fully supporting you, and also be prepared."
"Prepared..?"
"The clock tower has received words from Ruler…" El-Melloi II drank his tea until the cup was empty, and like a cool-protagonist in a story he placed it on his table with elegance as his long hair waved from the wind coming from the window. "The Continental Grail War will begin tomorrow."
Slam!
"What the hell do you think you're doing?!" Filled with tremendous rage, Jake upon punching the desk in front of him was damaged badly that it fell apart. "Who told you that you can attack?!'
His voice can be heard even outside of the premises, it was so loud that you could even feel the ground shake a bit if you're close to him. "Answer me you damn bastard!"
In front of him was a man sitting still on his chair, he didn't care if Jake was shouting at him. All he was doing was looking at Jake with a smile on his face. "I believe it was necessary to attack Asia, that's all there is to it Jake."
The man in front of Jake was the current President of the United States; Luther White. A man Jake could describe as cold and inhuman. On the outside when he's in public he has the face of a great and caring leader, but deep inside of him is a man who only works for himself and not for others.
He is a man who works to only satisfy his greed, but despite that Jake has no choice but to follow this man who he despises the most. After all, unlike him the President is far more powerful than a normal man from the countryside like Jake.
Despite his fear of the man's inhumanity and power, Jake wasn't able to control his anger upon hearing that it was Luther who ordered his men to attack Indonesia.
"Necessary? You call that necessary?! That was far from necessary, you fucking monster!" He grabbed the collar of Luther's suit and with his strength managed to carry Luther. "Do you know how many died during that attack?! The officials were helping the victims, yet… Yet… Yet like a fucking monster you are, you attacked them!"
Luther was still expressionless despite Jake's immense anger, he wasn't fazed at what Jake said after all in his mind it was the right thing to do. "The war starts tomorrow."
"What?" Jake was shocked at what Luther said, he let go of Luther and sat back down in his seat with a panicked look on his face.
"That's why it's necessary…" Luther fixed his suit and sat back to his chair. "The Holy Grail War will finally start tomorrow, which is why it's necessary to weaken the other continent, especially Europe and Asia."
"Europe? Don't tell me that you attacked them too?"
"Lucky for you I wasn't able to, those magus at the clocktower were very nosy."
Jake calmed down after hearing what Luther said, though there's still a hint of anger lingering around him, he knew that he needed to calm down so that he could listen to what Luther wanted to talk about originally.
"I'm gonna prepare soon to summon my servants, so tell me quickly what you wanted to talk about."
Luther opened the cabinet at his desk and grabbed a photo. He showed the photo to Jake and was surprised why Luther had a photo of a young girl.
"Who's that?"
"This little girl is your main enemy in the Holy Grail War, out of all the Masters only her and the Master of South America are the only two we knew of, but it doesn't matter. After all, she and the Master of Asia are gonna be our biggest enemy due to the rich history of their continents."
"This little girl is a Master..?" Jake was baffled and in denial that one of his enemies in the Holy Grail War was still young, most of all he was afraid to face the young girl one day because he knew that he had to kill her just so he could win this war.
"This is the Master of Europe; Colette De La Fontaine. Despite her young age, I advise you to not underestimate her. Unlike you, she came from a magus family, so it's natural that she knows magecraft right? But that's not all, when our spies looked deeply into her background, we found out that she is very talented both as a magus and individual."
Luther took out another thing on his cabinet, but this time it was a paper that contains information about Colette. "A student of the clocktower, graduated already in college, became the head of the scientific department of the UN, and despite coming from a newly magus family line her talent in magecraft is said to be on par with a Lord in the clocktower. This is what I mean to never underestimate her."
"It doesn't matter…" Jake mumbled softly
"What? Come again?"
"I said it doesn't matter." Jake stood up from his chair and opened the door, he looked back at Luther one last time and said. "I'm not killing anyone in this war." Before leaving Luther's office.
Luther could only look at Jake before he left, he was unsurprised at what Jake said and instead he let out a smile as he looked at Colette's photo. "Oh Jake, don't worry you won't have to kill… After all, I'm here to take that job."
