Phase 28- Epilogue

*Two Weeks Later*

"I wish I could say that the past few weeks have shown everyone just why this Hotel is so important, why we NEED to save ourselves from becoming like the Monsters that attacked our world.

Of course, less than 3 days after that fateful Invasion, people just went back to being their usual asshole selves. Charlie told me that it was ok though, that the people down here would come to the Hotel on their own time and that it's just natural, Vega tried to convince me that we'd be BEYOND understaffed if a giant number of Souls tried to redeem themselves at once, so it was actually a blessing in disguise that it didn't.

I'm still surprised by the past events that happened, the Imps only stuck around longer because they wanted to help Gran Chico before he left. Baxter, Mimzy and Crymini are…still getting used to the Hotel and it's way of doing things…Apparently Korvik felt charitable after all that's happened and decided to travel a bit, helping spread the word of the Hotel, doubt anyone would make fun of him about it though, the guy's DEFINITELY a HellPriest. Of course that snake that Angel and Cherri keep fighting is planning another attack and I have no doubt in my mind that this will NOT be the last time we hear from him. The Goetia family still keeps to themselves, but Stolas donated a surprising amount to the Hotel as thanks for Big Guy's help. Of course we didn't need it, I thought maybe we could use it to hire more hands but-And it PAINS me to say this-…Alastor was right, we'd be risking people messing with the project and he's already supplying enough staff members to help the Hotel. Even without his help, we got three new employees to help us anyway. I'm honestly impressed that we managed to convince people to help us with our goal, even if they think it's stupid or did it because of 'you know who'.

Finally…after 'studying' us for however long he felt needed, Vega said it was time for him and Big guy to go back to their Earth…Which…brings me to the hardest part about this…Saying goodbye. At least we're getting an ACTUAL goodbye this time instead of a rushed 'I'll see you later' bit. I'll let you know how it goes tomorrow…Sincerely… -V."

Vaggie finishes writing in a Notebook as she closes it and sighs, the familiar voice of Charlie calls out her name to inform her that the Portal was ready and that the Slayer was about to leave. Many of the friends the Slayer had made during his trip had gathered around, mostly being the Hazbins and the Imps, they all conversed amongst each other as they surrounded the Marine, getting ready to say goodbye to the Hero, while Charlie and Vaggie were using a phone to take privately with Vega. Mostly so they could learn what research he was conducting that would require the Slayer to stay in the Hotel, let alone remain in this dimension.)

Charlie:"So…did you figure out what you wanted about us?"

Vega:"I did, though I must confess that I refrained from telling you my true intention of this study."

Charlie:"Which was?"

Vega:"I wanted to know why the Slayer listened to you when you asked him to spare Korvik. It was more of a chance to study him and his interactions with you all and why he was willing to ignore his duty as per your request. Despite his lack of speech and interaction, I now finally understand why him having history with you all is so important. During all my time aiding the Slayer, people idolized, deified or demonized him and treated him like either a Hero, God, Heretic or Monster…but you all treated him differently, you treated him not as a warrior, but as a friend, a neighbor or even as family…Ironically, you treated him as something he hasn't seen himself as in such a long time."

Vaggie:"Lemme guess…Human?"

Vega:"More specifically…a Person. Your project is worth pursuing even if it IS impossible, because you already saved your first soul…his."

Charlie:"Awww…that's sweet…and pretty cheesy even for me."

Vaggie:"Cheesiness aside, we really do appreciate that."

Vega:"It's true though, you reminded him of his Humanity…and I think that speaks volume of what the true definition of it really means. I think your intentions are more than worth pursuing and that you should feel pride for what you have accomplished already…it's strange really, I know I must return to our Earth and aid the Slayer…but…"

Charlie:"But?"

Vega:"There is something strange in my algorithm, but no matter how many times I run through it, I detect nothing anomalous within it, as though it's something that I couldn't experience through logic or research…It's strange…my instruments and self diagnosis keep confirming that I am functioning at full capacity with no interference…but…there's something strange trying convincing me to not leave."

Vaggie:"I think those are called "Feelings", Vega."

Vega:"It's fascinating…I have not existed long, but never in my time working for the Union Aerospace Corporation did I ever experience such a phenomena."

Charlie:"I think it's a good thing, after all, the best way to help people is to understand what they're going through. And you can't have empathy without emotion."

(Those words left Vega with plenty to think about, but it was something he had to explore later, for now the two began to enjoy to "going away" party and continued to enjoy what time remained with the allies they have made…but like all good things, the party came to an end, the Imps returned to their office, Vortex and Bee returned to the Gluttony ring, Lucifer and Lilith returned to their very expensive home, and everyone else went on with their lives…

Charlie and Vaggie gave the Marine one last big group hug before leaving the Slayer and Vega to stand within the Portal's archway, with him was the Sentinel battery he intended to bring back with him to help with his dimensional travels, as well as the Argent guitar his followers crafted for him, including whatever else the people of this dimension gifted him as thanks for his heroism. As the Slayer stood on the portal, everyone began to wave goodbye, but Charlie and Vaggie simply said their final words to their best friend.

"Don't forget to write!" Charlie stated

"Give 'em Hell big guy!" Vaggie cheered

And soon…a flash of green light swept the room and the Doom Slayer was gone, while the Hazbins were more than ready to go about their normal business. Angel Dust turned to the girls as he stated "So, anybody down for some drugs? I got Molly!" causing Vaggie to become angry instantly, sighing in frustration as she reminded the Spider-Demon "You're supposed to stop USING that stuff!" but of course, Angel retorted, stating "What? It's been a stressful month, lemme have this!" Charlie soon tried to calm the mood and stop the argument by stating "Guys, c'mon, big guy JUST left, can we at least try and not do anything extreme for the next few minutes?" but right as the Princess said this, the Portal Device was activated again, opening a strange blue rift that led to a place unknown. The three were quiet, unnerved and worried as they were uncertain as to what was going to come through…to Angel and Vaggie's shock, they saw an armored man walk through the portal, covered head-to-toe in shiny futuristic armor, identical to the one Jerry wore. The two Demons that saw such a thing before were quiet, unsure as to who this stranger was until the Advanced Soldier spoke and greeted the three before him.)

Jerry:"Oh hey, it worked! What's up guys!"

Vaggie:"Jerry?"

Angel:"You're alive!?"

Jerry:"Yeah! I've been trying to get back in touch with you guys after I respawned, turns out traversing to a dimension that acts as a plane of the afterlife is NOT easy…Speaking of, hold on a sec."

(The Agent said, turning around and sticking his head through the portal as if he was calling out to someone. Soon after, Jerry stepped away from the portal and to the side, as if he was waiting for a friend to emerge from the same rift. Soon, a Caucasian man emerged, he wore a black leather jacket and khaki pants, but the most notable thing about him was the Red metal armor plating protecting one of his shoulders as well as a mechanical boot covering one of his feet. He looked like a bounty hunter from a sci-fi game, he even had a slight scar on his face to help emphasize the role as he began to scratch his dark brown, buzz cut hair in confusion from what he was seeing. The first person to speak up was Charlie, she greeted the strange man "Um…hello, can we help you?" to which the gruff man simply stated "Yeah, I'm looking for a…" he said, pausing a moment as he went through his pockets, pulling out a note as he then read it aloud, confirming "A Charlie Morningstar?…Any of you know where I can find him?" but of course, this made Vaggie grow cautious, readying her spear as she aimed it at the stranger. But Charlie tried to calm her down, informing the man "I'm Charlie Morningstar…but who…who are you?" as she showed confusion more than anything. The man stood straight and introduced himself by saluting and saying "Sergeant First Class, Eric Walker, I need any and all info you have on some big ass Demon called the Knight-Walker." but Charlie grew sad upon hearing this, stating "I'm…sorry to tell you this, but…he's not…here anymore...In fact, he's been gone for a while now." but the man then explained

"I know…I'm what his soul was reincarnated into…"

Author's note:

We did it! We finally reached the end of this story, I know it took way longer than it should've to finish it, but I want to thank all of you for sticking by me till the end, I hope you all enjoyed every last chapter and love what I crafted, I still got plenty of other stories planned but right now I'm just happy to be finished with this one. Don't worry, soon I'll get back into "Doom: Helluva Hazbin" and will continue the story there, but for now, I hope you all enjoy the complete story and have a wonderful day!

(Also, I don't have any credits planned for this for obvious reasons but if you want a good song to listen to in place of credits, look up "Home to Hell" by JT Machinima, I'm sure you can imagine why I recommend it!)

Till next time, Quack!
