I intend to have a romance for Izuku, but I'm on the fence with which character. It'll be M/M and I'm open to any suggestions! :D

Their apartment made his mother's look like a shoebox. Following Hizashi and Aizawa inside, Izuku looked about in awe. The place was huge! The front door lead straight into a beautiful living-room, a large flat screen on the wall and an alcove led right into a gigantic kitchen with all the plush modern furnishings. Above his head, Izuku noted customized shelving that was oddly covered in a soft fabric, but when his eyes landed on a fabulous black main coon cat looking down at him, he realised it was built in climbing for felines.

"Ah," Aizawa smiled, stopping next to him. "I see you've noticed Pharaoh. Don't let his regal air fool you…he's a big softy."

"He's lovely, is he your only cat?" Izuku asked.

"Nope!" Hizashi said cheerfully. "We've a ragdoll around here somewhere named Summer. She tends to hide when there's new faces. But she's extremely playful once she gets to know you."

From the corner of his eye, Izuku noted the cat in question. A flame point ragdoll, his over active brain supplied. A fact he only knew from an obsessive phase in regards cats when he desperately wanted one and nothing would convince his mother. He couldn't help but notice Pharaoh and Summer were feline versions of their owners and the very thought had him giggling uncontrollably.

"What's so funny, little listener?" Hizashi asked amused.

"T-They're the cat version of both of you!" Izuku responded, his laughter louder now.

Blinking, the adults shared a glance before looking at the cats and Aizawa was the first to laugh. "You know…I never noticed before, but he's right."

It was the first time they heard Izuku truly laugh, and the couple were delighted. Stretching his long body, Pharaoh leaped down to meet the new human, weaving about Izuku's legs with a purr.

"Good boy, Pharaoh!" Hizashi praised.

Crouching, Izuku ran a hand over the main coon, careful not to grip too tight with his talons and grinned when the feline absolutely melted into the touch. "Good kitty."

"You like cats?"

Looking up at Aizawa, Izuku nodded. "Yes. I wanted one when I was really young, but my mom just wouldn't budge."

"Now you have two!" Hizashi said cheerfully. "Alright Bunny, time to check out your room. I had a few hours and access to a credit card, which is always dangerous when it concerns me."

Flushing at the use of his new nickname 'Bunny' Izuku followed Hizashi, Aizawa right behind and stepping into what was now his room, he gaped in shock. The walls were painted a brilliant red, one wall took up with an amazing All Might mural and a large king sized bed in the centre, the latest All Might bed spread on it, with matching pillows. To the left sat a study desk, fully equipped with a brand new laptop, lamp, and boxes of stationary and pens. There was a walk in closet, an ensuite and to the right a sort of chill out corner with a TV, a gigantic beanbag chair and an assortment of DVD's yet to be open. It was more than Izuku had owed in his entire life.

"T-This is awesome!" The teenager choked out, looking back at his foster parents. "It's so much…too much…I—"

"Nuh uh!" Hizashi warned. "You deserve it and more. I still have to bring you clothes shopping and you won't deny me the pleasure."

Izuku laughed, wiping away his tears. "Thank you so much…. This is amazing."

"We'll let you get settled in," Aizawa suggested, lifting up Summer when she came to have a nose, the cat nuzzling into him with a purr. "Any preferences for dinner?"

"I'm not fussy," Izuku smiled. "I'll eat anything you pick."

Retrieving his things, Izuku spent the next hour putting up his posters, shelving his figurines and hanging up what clothing he had, which looked pretty meagre inside his new walk in closet. Since dinner would be soon, he figured he should freshen up and learned quickly his personal bathroom was something else.

"Wow," the teen gasped, eyes wide. That was real marble on the countertops and the shower could easily fit three of him. Stopping in front of the mirror, he cringed a bit. When had his green curls gotten so unruly? Honestly it swamped his face, strands falling into his glowing eyes. What had Kacchan said just last week?

"Geez, Deku…ever hear of a barber? You look like a mouldy mop."

And of course, there were all the other times.

"What a loser…still looks like a four year old about to cry…"

"Look at you Deku! You're a waste of skin! A nothing!"

"Why don't you do yourself a favour…take a swan dive off the roof and hope for a Quirk in the next life!"

And then there was his mother's harsh words.

"Stop blaming poor Katsuki because you got in the way of him practicing his Quirk, Izuku!"

"Hungry? You're always hungry…It's impossible to keep a Quirkless child fed!"

"Go to your room, I can't look at you right now."

"It's your fault your father left!"

Pain brought him out of his spiral. He had closed his fists so tight, he had cut himself with his own talons. Watching the red bloom from the cuts, Izuku couldn't shake the sudden panic over his life going completely out of control and like someone possessed he began yanking open cupboards, searching.

At first, his eyes landed on a packet of razor blades. The teen figured his new room had once been set up as a guest room. The cupboards held a mix of unopened toiletries and when a sudden desperate need engulfed him, anything to take back control, his gaze latched onto something else.

His mother loved his green curls. No matter her mood, that tended not to change, but now it only filled him with rage, Kacchan's stupid words forgotten, when focused on the bigger issue currently tormenting him, tears streaming over his heated cheeks, Izuku grabbed items at random and sniffling set to work.

Out in the kitchen, Aizawa chopped vegetables for curry. Hizashi humming along to something on the radio, while he diced chicken and kept a watchful eye on the cats skulking about in hopes of stealing a morsel.

When a sudden crash came from Izuku's room, the pair moved as one, rushing down the hall and barging into his bedroom.

"Bunny?!" Hizashi called. "Kiddo, you, okay?"

Noticing the Bathroom door was ajar, Aizawa rushed forward and blinked in shock.

Izuku knelt on the floor, hands bloodied and toiletries all over the place. An electric razor lay on the floor, scissors next to it, green hair scattered all over.

"She loved my curls," Izuku explained piteously, great fat tears tracking wet lines already staining his skin. "Mom...she said they were the nicest part of my features because...because they were just like Dad's. Well now...she can't have them."

In his frantic fury, Izuku had done quite an impressive undercut to his hair, leaving the top longer spikes, but every curl had been cut away.

Understanding, heart going to mush, Hizashi knelt down in the mess and gathered the boy into his lap, his own tears coming to life when Izuku let out a broken keening sob.

"Why...Why did my own mother throw me away?"

"Oh, little listener, sometimes people do things that is impossible to understand." Hizashi rocked him, humming gently. "Kiddo, your hands are bleeding."

"My talons," Izuku replied, sounding drained. "I cut myself by accident."

"I'll get the first aid kit."

Heading out to the kitchen, Aizawa rooted out the kit and noticed the chicken had disappeared. The cats had clearly taken advantage in the chaos. Clever little shits. Pizza it was then. When he got back to the bathroom, Izuku was sat patiently while Hizashi tidied up the haircut.

"You did a pretty good job here, Bunny," Hizashi said cheerfully, trying to lighten the situation. "And it looks really good on you."

Too exhausted to respond, Izuku merely nodded, barely moving when Aizawa began cleaning up his hands and wrapping them up with gauze. The Underground hero noticed the shadows kept shifting. Izuku clearly wasn't aware he was doing it. They'd need to prioritise Quirk counselling, sooner, rather than later.

"Kiddo, I'm gonna order pizza," Aizawa told him. "Do you want to take a nap while we get it sorted?"

Numbly, Izuku nodded, frowning when he tried to figure out how he was getting as far as the bed. Noticing the problem, Aizawa smiled softly and crouched to gather up the teenager. Izuku didn't even protest to being carried. Too drained to care. He was out cold before his head even hit the pillow.

After cleaning up the bathroom and leaving the teenager to sleep, Hizashi joined Aizawa in the kitchen where he had cleaned up their cooking attempt. At least the chopped veggies could be used again. Pouring two mugs of coffee, Aizawa slid one toward Hizashi. "I guess that meltdown was inevitable."

"Yeah," Hizashi agreed. "I'm kinda glad he finally snapped. He was too calm about it all."

"Too used to being mistreated," Aizawa said with disgust. When his phone signalled, he checked it, eyes widening a fraction. "Well, that was fast."

"What?"

"Tsukauchi has the warrant for Inko Midoriya's arrest. They'll be picking her up in the morning."

Hizashi stiffened, a determined look taking over. "Tell Tsukauchi I'm going with him…"

"Baby—"

"No, Sho!" Hizashi snapped. "I'm going with him, so I can look that bitch in the face and ask her why."

Aizawa knew this was hitting Hizashi hard. They both had demons, but he had suffered quite a bit as a child. It was often said as a joke, how he had made everyone's ears bleed the day he was born. One of the rare few born with his Quirk already active. But what the public didn't know was, his parents surrendered him hours after his birth. Unwilling to deal with a Quirk like his. By the time he was one, Hizashi was already being muzzled to keep his Quirk under control and it wasn't until he was nearly six, that he was finally adopted. His new family teaching him how to manage his Quirk.

Even now, his facial hair hid scars from numerous muzzles.

"Okay, Zash." Letting Tsukauchi know, Aizawa stood and pressed a kiss to Hizashi's cheek. "This is hurting you…I know it is…but we're going to help him. He'll grow up in a loving home."

He would. Hizashi would make sure of it. Ordering pizzas, picking a movie at random. One of the old pre Quirk era hero ones, they woke Izuku with the promise of comfort food and movie night. The teen was sluggish, but shuffled along to the living-room, eyes blinking at the sight of a ridiculous amount of pizza.

"Just this once," Aizawa said. "Tomorrow, we start your diet plan."

Nodding in understanding, Izuku sat next to Hizashi and lit up at what was paused on TV. "Oh! Iron Man! I love the whole Marvel collection, they're such good movies!"

Hizashi grinned. "A Marvel fan, eh?"

Izuku nodded enthusiastically. "They're fascinating! A bit unrealistic when it comes to Quirks, but enjoyable anyway. I wonder did the creators realise at the time, they were just ten years off of the first real superpower!"

Grinning at his sudden animation, Aizawa passed out plates and shooed away Pharaoh and Summer. The devilish cats on the hunt now for Pizza. As if they hadn't just eaten nearly an entire chicken between them! Though Izuku's eyes were still a little puffed and red from crying, in that moment, his worries were non-existent. If anything, the boy was resilient. For the rest of the evening, they ate pizza, watched movies and enjoyed their first night as a family.

If Izuku managed to get a photo of Aizawa chasing Pharaoh and Summer after they each snagged a slice, well, he kept it to himself.

As planned the next morning, Hizashi met Tsukauchi to go issue Inko her arrest. Much to his petty delight, the bitch was at work.

"She's a parttime nurse," Tsukauchi told him, as they made there way into the hospital, eyes scanning details on his phone. "We gave her the option to come to the station voluntarily, but since she ignored us…hardball it is."

"How long can you hold her?" Hizashi questioned, eyes serious behind his yellow shades.

"Depending on the judge. She could be let out on bail—if she can afford it—or held till her trial. Either way, she's looking at five years imprisonment."

"More if Izuku testifies to neglect," Hizashi pointed out.

Tsukauchi frowned. "Was she?"

"Yup. Even without his word, his medical records would be enough to suggest it."

Disgusted, Tsukauchi shook his head and badged an orderly to bring them to Inko. Depending on the day, depended on where she was. Today, she was working the Oncology ward. For obvious reasons, Hizashi and Tsukauchi waited outside, and both couldn't believe her attitude when Inko finally stomped out.

"What is this about now? I've very sick patients to see to."

"Seriously?" Hizashi ground out. "Do you really give so little of a damn in regard your own son?!" Even without his Quirk, his voice was loud enough to draw attention.

Inko hissed out a frustrated breath. "I can't deal with it all anymore. Or the newest problem. I did my best for nearly fifteen years, but now, I can't…You can't condemn me for that, not when I did the best I could."

"The best?" Hizashi spluttered. "Izuku is so underweight and malnourished his liver is borderline failing! His heart is under strain and name any vitamin, the kid is deficient!"

"He was a picky eater!"

"Bullshit!"

Yanking Hizashi back, Tsukauchi decided to get it done fast, before they drew a damn news crew. "You understand you abandoned your son?"

Inko scoffed. "No, I surrendered him. I didn't drop him in a forest somewhere to fend for himself…He's safe, isn't he? Plenty of facilities for him to go."

Tsukauchi felt her words lick over his Quirk and he didn't need the tremble in her hands or the false bravado to know, she knew that was shit. His Quirk went off like an alarm. "You know that's a load of crap." He bit out, professionalism be damned. "Otherwise, why purposefully avoid a voluntary interview for two days?"

"I was working!"

Tsukauchi sneered. "Oh? Mrs Midoriya…fun fact…my Quirk is called 'Lie Detector' …Can you guess what that entails?"

Inko turned the colour of old milk, eyes rounding as big as they could go. The tremble running through her whole body. Tears welling, she wrung her hands. "What was I supposed to do? Izuku was always sick, always bruised, always complaining! Even Quirkless, there was something abnormal about him! He was determined to be a Hero and what about me?! I was constantly picking up the pieces after he antagonised students, listening to the Aldera staff, paying for damages! Was I supposed to stay stuck dealing with that? Was I supposed to watch him get killed? Why couldn't he accept he was nothing?!"

The silence that fell after her tirade was deafening. Patients and staff alike were all staring, horrified. Wordlessly, Tsukauchi produced Quirk cancelling cuffs and turned Inko while reading out her rights. "Inko Midoriya…you're under arrest for child abandonment and neglect…"

While he worked, Hizashi watched the crowd. Most were in shock, whispering their disgust, but the odd face, it was clear the bastards knew or at the very least suspected. He had a feeling, it was going to be a long day.
