Chapter 2
"Ugh…"
Her head hurt.
Yet slowly, she opened her eyes. "Huh? I'm… home?"
"Hi Chusi. Would you like a glass of water?" She was slightly startled to see Yuuji in her bedroom, but…
"How did I get back home? I don't… remember much…"
Yuuji smiled warmly to her as he sat on the edge of the bed. "I don't know the full details either, but Sukuna brought you back home safe and sound. Perhaps you passed out in shock?" he asked.
She paused for a moment. "But… what kind of shock did I get to pass out like that? It takes a lot!" she explained.
"Perhaps it is better if you let it be for the time being, at the same time… congratulations." He said and gave a small smile.
She looked confused for a moment. "Congratulations? On…" but then froze. Her eyes widened as a hand came on to her belly. "You mean…"
Yuuji nodded to her, smiling.
Her lip quivered as tears of joy came down her face. The baby she has always wanted is on its way to her. "I… I didn't know! I mean, we didn't leave the domain or a while, and everyone here…" she was trying to wrap her head around the notion of not realizing she was expecting. "Yuuji… do you know how far along I am? Can you tell?" she asked of him.
As strange of a request that she had, Itadori only smirked. He leaned over and took a few polite sniffs. "Hmm, it appears you have been expecting for a few months, two and a half, probably three, if I were to guess. Perhaps this occurred on the honeymoon? Or sooner…"
Or when Ryomen had altered bodies with Gojo…
Either way, she was thrilled with the news. "I can't wait to tell Yua!"
That smile on Yuuji's face… suddenly vanished. "Are you okay?" she asked of him.
He forced a smile. "Oh yes, fine!" he insisted.
She knew otherwise.
"Yuuji… are you hiding something from me?" she asked bluntly. "You need to remember. I am Yua's sister… have you been able to hide anything from her?"
He as biting his lower lip now!
"Itadori!"
"Ah, there she is!"
Chusi jumped a little as Lady Tiamat peered into the room. "Yuuji, do you mind?" she asked.
He left the room without hesitation. Lady Tiamat closed the door behind him as she turned and smiled to Chusi, but, like Yuuji, her smile soon vanished. "We need to talk, and there is much to speak about. However… please allow me to do this for you."
Lady Tiamat place a hand over Chusi's head, and then, one on her belly. She felt such warmth radiate from the palms of the dragon woman. It made her feel completely at peace!
Her mind settled, she felt everything was right with the world.
"Lady Tiamat?" she asked in a dazed and relaxed tone.
The great lady took a seat next to the bed, yet, she had her chair at the end of it so she looked Chusi in the eyes. "There has been a devastating attack on your family by Kenjaku," she said bluntly. "He attempted to turn Ryomen Sukuna mad again, but, he accomplished his main objective. Yua was attacked and they used a particular poison not known in this world. But it came from the heavenly realm. Chusi, Yua lost her children. She was expecting triplets… they didn't make it."
Silence.
Chusi was silent to this and yet, her mind couldn't latch on to the seriousness of this. "She… was attacked?" she asked in a dazed confusion.
"Yes, she was. Yua is in a comatose state at the moment. I am telling you this for I have placed a protection on you and your child at Ryomen's request. You will know this information, but you are not going to be able to react to it until you have your child. I wish I didn't have to do this, but it must be done. I doubt anyone here is going to be able to hide Yua's condition from you for very long."
She felt numb to it all, despite knowing what she should be feeling. But…
"Is Yua alive?"
"She is,"
"That's important to me," Chusi said. "What of Toshi?"
Lady Tiamat was silent, yet slightly startled. "How did you know about Toshi?" she asked curiously. Chusi merely shrugged her shoulders, she wasn't aware either, but… she felt something was off. "They are observing him now, he has a very weak pulse at the moment, but according to Choso, his heart stopped. How it started again, they are trying to figure out at the moment. For the time being, he is alive and is resting."
"Okay… Ryomen can't lose his friend like that…" she said offhandedly. "What happened to us?"
Lady Tiamat smiled to this. "Let's just say, your family was prepared for the time, should it occur… that Kenjaku had a chance once more to drive Sukuna to madness, he would take it. But, your family also knew, if there was a chance, even the slimmest possibility of it happening. That Ryomen would regain his mind, they prepared to ensure he didn't lose it again."
As she lay there, Chusi had no idea that, at that moment, Kenjaku and Uraume had returned to the alleyway where they left them to see what had happened…
