No one was more surprised than Snow Miser. His surprise quickly turned into rage. "What are you doing here, brother dear?" he asked, his teeth clenched.

In the air beside King Moonracer was North Wind. Looking down at them, North smirked. "King Moonracer told me there was a problem he needed taken care of, and I'm just the one for the job."

"What problem?"

"Why, you three, of course," North gestured to Snow, Nina, and Tingler. "When he heard of your plan to destroy the island, I gladly offered to step in. As the island's protector, it's my duty to keep it safe."

"You're full of hot air!" Snow snapped.

"It is true," King Moonracer said. "I asked for his help to protect the island, which he has done by shielding the island and keeping others from getting near it."

"Your majesty, we have no intention of hurting anyone or anything," Nina told King Moonracer.

"North Wind is my trusted friend," the king stated. "I can't take the risk of my subjects being harmed." To North, he said, "Do what you will."

"Now, you'll all cooperate and come with me," North told them. "We don't want any trouble, do we?"

"You're the one who is causing trouble," Snow said. "You know we're not planning on doing anything; what's the point of lying?"

"My dear brother," North replied, a little too nicely, "I'm just doing what is best for us all. These...distractions have gotten in the way long enough." He looked directly at Nina and Tingler.

Snow Miser immediately moved in front of them. "Oh, I get it. You're jealous. I have two people who love me, while you only have yourself. No wonder you're so miserable."

"Miserable?" North laughed. "You think too highly of yourself, Snow Miser. I'll make you a deal: you turn these two weaklings over to me, and we'll let this go without any further issues."

Snow glared. "I have three words for you. Figure out what they are."

North became enraged. "I'm not leaving here until I get what I want!" He waved his arms in circles, causing a whirlwind to hit the ground.

All of the island's inhabitants had come outside to see what was going on. Being toys and considerably lighter than other beings, they began being swept away by the fierce wind. Nina, Snow, and Tingler quickly grabbed them, while King Moonracer shouted, "Stop! You're sweeping away my citizens!"

"The end justifies the means!" North shouted.

Snow Miser turned to his partners and exclaimed, "Get everyone inside the castle! I'll deal with North Wind!"

Nina, Tingler, Rudolph, and Hermey scrambled to get the toys in the castle safely while Snow flew up in the air in front of North, forming balls of ice in his hands. "Go see about your subjects," he told King Moonracer, who was confused. Ultimately, the king decided to help the others get them into the castle.

Snow Miser and North Wind were alone, suspended in the air. "This is my fight," Snow growled. "I won't let you harm Nina or Tingler."

"You've had plenty of playtoys before, Snow Miser. You've fooled yourself and everyone else into thinking there's something special about these two in particular." Seeing his brother's anger, North rolled his eyes. "Don't pretend you're noble and good. After all, you've frozen mortals to death for fun and tossed away so-called lovers like it was nothing. What is different now? These new toys of yours are just as pathetic as the old ones."

"They aren't toys!" Snow shouted. "They're my soul mates, and I love them with everything I have! I've changed; I don't do the same things I used to. Nina and Tingler make me want to be a better guy, and I'd do anything for them, even fight you. There's no way in hell I'm letting you even touch them."

"So be it, Snow Miser. If it's a fight you want, then it's a fight you'll get. You only have yourself to blame."

North raised his arms again, while Snow got ready to attack.
