In Madame Vastra's eyes, the main problem with humans is that they're so thin-skinned. It makes them fragile, easily damaged, and that extends to their emotions as well as their physical bodies. Harsh words cut them as deeply as a blade.

How humanity evolved and became so powerful is a mystery. The Silurian race is far more resilient, and yet they've been forced underground on their own world. Well, the problems of the rest of her people aren't her problems. She's made a most satisfactory life for herself above ground, with her wife.

Jenny's skin is thin, but delightfully smooth.
