Unfortunately, as she soon found out. School in the world of Pokémon was just as boring as in the real world. If it wasn't for the Minccino sitting beside her she would have quickly forgot she was supposed to be in an entirely different world. As the teacher drone on and on about how to measure and calculate the diameters of different geometric shape.
After what felt like an eternity the bell finally rung and the class were left with a fifteen minutes break before the next class. Unfortunately the next one wouldn't be any more interesting. It was Common class, or as it would be called back in her own world, English class.
Thankfully they didn't need to learn a second language here as Common was apparently even more widespread than English had been back home. Unless she went outside of the world controlled by the Globalist Government she would never need to learn another language.
The few regions that weren't under the Globalist banner included such places as Fiore, Almia, Oblivia and Orre. The former three regions had once been under the rule of the Globalist Government. But one day the three regions allied themselves together and revolted to be independent from the globalisation efforts. Apparently offended by the need to abandon their native tongue for the Common tongue they considered inferior. Needless to say, with more than sixty regions under their controls the Globalists made short work of the revolution.
But in an act of mercy the Globalist Government accepted to make the three regions independant from their rule in exchange of making Training Pokémon as a profession illegal within their borders. Pokémon could only be kept as pets or be used in official work by Pokémon Rangers.
The last region, Orre, was basically a lawless hellhole where the worse criminals fleeing the Globalist Government went. It was also filled with old war veterants who just wanted to be free from taxes and strict rules. The Globalists had once tried to put the region under heel. But with how resistant the residents were to their rule and the fact that the region was mostly a lifeless desert with no native Pokémon. They decided to cut their loss and just let the region rot away in isolation.
Robin was all too happy to never land foot on such a region.
Robin had been curious just how many regions there was in this world. So she had asked Anabel and she was shocked and kind of amused to learn that there was one hundred and fifty one regions in the entire world. When asked why she was amused by this number, Robin could only reply 'Kanto' in response. Which did nothing to clear Anabel's confusion.
As interesting it was to learn that the world was much larger than what they had been exposed through the games and anime. Robin would probably stick with the regions she knew for now. Call it nostalgia if you want, but she really wanted to see the places of her childhood for herself.
Robin didn't know what to do for the duration of the break so she had just decided to sit on a bench outside. She had only sat for about two minutes before she heard the sound of the wood creaking under something's weight. She soon realised it was Charlie the Minccino using her paws to lift herself up on the bench.
''Hi Charlie!'' Robin said happily, she couldn't believe the first friend she ever made was going here too and was in her own class to boot. But speaking of that...''So I don't want to sound insensitive. But do other people know about...The fact you used to be human? Because I really didn't expect that a Pokémon could be a student here.''
Minccino shook her head and began speaking in the phone in the shape of Rotom. [The others don't know. I didn't want to make a fuss about it. Especially since I barely even remember how being a human even was like. I was only five years old when I ended up here.]
Robin winced at that, as much as she liked being here in this world, being so young she would barely even remember her old life would have been horrible. As bad as things could be back home not everything about it was worth forgetting.
''So, um how did you enroll in school then?'' Robin asked curiously.
[Well for one, the Principal know about where I came from. But secondly I am a Citizen Pokémon] Minccino replied.
''A Citizen Pokémon? I don't think the anime ever mentioned that. What is it?'' Robin cocked her head confused.
The Minccino laughed and smirked before she talked in the phone. [I know I wasn't crazy there was a TV show about this world! I can barely even remember it, but I know it was about a overpowered Pikachu. But moving on, because of how wild Pokémon are and how most of them don't respect the laws laid down by society. They really can't be protected by the same rights we give to people despite being as intelligent as humans. For a long time Pokémon were just treat as animals, they were killed for their meat and material or captured and made into slaves for battles. Don't get me wrong, most Pokémon love to be trained by human. But it doesn't change the fact that most of them didn't get a choice.]
Robin decided right then and there she wouldn't capture any Pokémon unless they willingly joined her team. ''But what does any of that has to do with you going to school?''
[I was getting to that! After the introduction of Pokéballs. The ability of humans to enslave us more easily ironically made them all the more sympathetic to our plight. So about fifty years ago humans made a law that any Pokémon that signed up to be a citizen of their civilisation would be protected and given the same rights as any human beings in their respective region. If we are killed by some nutjob who hate Pokémon, the perpetrator will be punished with the same weight as a human murder. And to stop any trainers to capture us, the Globalist Government made something called Citizen Balls. It's basically just a fancy regular Pokéball that they use to register us and then keep the Pokéball in a vault somewhere secure. Making it impossible for any humans to capture us with another Pokéball.]
Robin was stunned, ther had never been any hints that a Pokémon could become an actual citizen in any of the media as far as she knew. ''So if any Pokémon can just become a citizen, why are there still so many wild or captured Pokémon?''
[Simple, Pokémon don't want to do taxes.] Robin looked at the Minccino with a disbelieving expression before they both burst laughing at the ridiculous answer. Minccino looked proud that her joke made the girl laugh so much.
[No, but seriously I was only half kidding with that joke. Most Pokémon really can't be bothered with all the rules and bureaucracy the human world require. So they prefer to either just stay in the wild where things are brutal but simple. Or let themselves be caught by a Trainer where they can be pampered, cared for and participate in exciting high stake battles while their dumb human owners do all the actual tedious work required to keep them fed and comfortable.]
Robin giggled. ''Said like that I'm almost jealous I wasn't turned into a Pokémon.'' Charlie smirked in response. ''So wait! Are Citizen Pokémon allowed to actually become Pokémon Trainers if they have all the same rights as a human?''
Charlie crossed her arms smugly. [Yep, they can. Even better, Citizen Pokémon are allowed to use themselves as a party member for official Pokémon battles. As long as they don't arleady have six other Pokémon with them.]
''Woah, that's amazing! Are you planning to become a Trainer?'' Robin asked curiously.
At that Charlie seemed to shrink and rubbed the back of her head nervously. [I wish I could. But I'm too much of a coward. While most wild Pokémon won't attack humans since they know it could result in dire consequences for them. The same isn't true for Citizen Pokémon. I might be a Pokémon but I'm really not strong. I'm afraid that as soon as I step out of the security of a town, I'll get beaten up or even eaten by something viscious...I'm too scared.] She admit with tears of shame going down her furred cheek.
Robin frowned in pity, she wanted to encourage her new friend to still try to reach for her dream. But she didn't want to risk her friend dying out there either if her fears were warranted.
But then Robin had an idea. ''I really hope I'm not being too foward here...But maybe we could travel together? You know I'm planning to be a Trainer too. We could go together and protect each other when needed. Ash Ketchum did it all the time, so I don't see why we couldn't.''
Charlie seemed to perk up at the idea but she still seemed somewhat hesitant. [That sound nice, but this is not like the TV show. Here being a Trainer is something that should be done with only yourself and your team. Going with another Trainer is kind of considered weak and go against the goal of becoming independent through the journey. Plus having a friend that know all your moves also make it really hard when you have to face each other at the Pokémon League.]
''We're not from this world Charlie, we don't have to follow all their traditions. Plus I'm not even sure what I want to do as a Trainer. For all you know I might not even aim for going at the League at all.''
[...I'll think about it alright? The League Season started just a few days ago you know. When are you even planning to go on a journey?]
''My 10th birthday is on August 5th. So I'm planning to start then.'' Robin replied confidently.
Charlie grimaced slightly at that. [Right toward the end of the League Season huh? That would make it basically impossible to participate in the League this year. Luckily Gym badges are valid for two years for exactly this reason. So I'll just take my time I guess.]
''So you're coming?'' Robin asked hopefully.
Charlie shrugged her shoulder. [I have about six months to decide. I'll think about it alright?]
Robin was a bit dissapointed to not get a response right now. But nodded in acceptance. Just then the ring of the bell sounded. Signalling it was time to return to class.
''Hey, before we return to class I was curious about something else. If your phone can translate what you say. Why didn't you use it when you visited me at the hospital?'' It would definetly have been way more convenient than having to respond throught writting with a crayon.
Charlie rubbed the back of her head. [Oh that? Well technically this phone isn't mine, it was created as a collaboration project between Professor Oak from Kanto and Professor Kukui from Alola. Kukui was the one that created a Pokédex made to be inhabited by a Rotom and then that evolved into smart phones being compatible with them. Since Rotom is a Pokémon and can understand other Pokémon. They tought to develop an app that would let Rotom translate everything Pokémon said for humans. But this app is still a prototype and so are the phones that can support it. I was given the chance to be one of the first testers since Pokémon going to school as a student like me is really rare and presented them with opportunities for more Pokémon and human interactions with the app. But as a condition, I'm not able to bring the phone out of the school grounds.]
''That's cool! I bet all Trainers would love to be able to understand their Pokémon like this!'' Robin said excitedly. Robin and Charlie continued talking as they made their way to their next class. Before long the subject of going on a journey together faded in the background. But Charlie still tought about it deeply, her mind wracked with indecision.
Just as she had expected Common class was just as boring as English class. A fancy change of name wouldn't change that. Thankfully now it was over and it was now lunchtime, the biggest break of the day. And after the break, their class would be Pokémon Training 101. Which Robin was much more hopeful about it being interesting.
Anabel had given her some cash to buy something at the cafeteria. She ended up taking a slice of pizza with some garlic bread. The pizza looked kind of cheap, but even cheap pizza was good pizza in her opinion.
She stood in the middle of the cafeteria wondering where she should go. Out of the corner of her eyes she saw a boy rushing toward her with an empty food tray in his hand. For a terrifying moment she tought it was a bully like in her school about to beat her up with the tray.
She put her arms defensively in front of her face. But the boy bent down and swung the tray upward. To Robin's mortification his swing created an updraft that lifted her skirt and flashed her nude cunnie to the entire room.
''Free the Pussy!'' The boy yelled triumphantly.
''FREE THE PUSSY!'' A group of boys consisting of all the males in her class sitting on the same table echoed in unison. With wide grins on their faces.
Robin tried desperatly to cover down her skirt but it was arleady all too late. Everyone had seen her most private area. Even worse in her haste to protect herself she had dropped her own tray on the floor and her lunch was now laying on the floor.
She couldn't help it she started sobbing right there. All the boys suddenly stop their celebration and looked at her in concern. But she just wanted to be gone from here. ''Hey, um. I'm sorry I'll go buy you another meal okay?'' When she didn't repond apart from sniffling quietly he gritted his teeth in self loathing and went toward the counter.
''Psst, Robin come here.'' A girl's voice said behind her. She wiped her eyes of tears as best as she could and looked back and saw a table filled with all four other human girls in her class.
She quietly went toward the table and sat down among the girls. She would have felt amazing about being accepted in the girl's group so fast if the situation had been different.
''Sorry about the dumb boys. They did this to all of us. They say it's to check if the girls of our class are 'chill'. Apparently I'm a lame nerd because I have panties under my skirt. The fact I'm more comfortable like that is none of their business.'' Giselle the dreary looking girl said with clear disdain for the male students of their classes.
''Unfortunately all the rest of us prefer to wear our skirt pantieless so they all saw our Skitty.'' A girl with the messy brown hair and thick rimmed glasses said with a flushed frown on her face.
''It's kind of sweet that they felt so bad once you started crying. All the rest of us just got angry with them and they laughed.'' Giselle said with a frown still on her face.
''Speaking of, why did you cry? Was it the first time someone saw you nude? Have you never gone swimming at the beach or at a pool?'' The girl with the pigtail questioned curiously.
''Huh? What does the beach or the pool have to do with this?'' Robin asked confused and the girls looked equally puzzled at her question.''
''Oh! Do you wear a bikini to go swimming? That's pretty rare, most girls just go naked it's more convenient. You don't have to deal with any wet clothes once you get out.'' The third and final girl said with a gentle smile. She had long flowing blonde hair, chubby cheeks and gorgeous emerald green eyes. She was, in Robin's opinion, really cute. Robin tried really hard to act normal and not show she was attracted to her as soon as she laid eyes on her.
Robin was trying to find some sort of excuse for her ignorance of cultural norms. But then she tought about the fake backstory Anabel had come up with for her if she ever needed to reveal her gender identity. She really had not wanted to reveal the fact she wasn't always a girl to anyone at school. But she realised there was just too much she was ignorant about being a girl to possibly fool everyone, both in her old world and especially in this one.
''If I told you girls a secret promise you will never tell anyone?'' Robin asked quietly and all the girls nodded seriously. ''I...Wasn't born as a girl...I used to be a boy and it felt so, so completely wrong. I looked in the mirror and it was like I was starring at a stranger that refused to let me see my real self. So my...guardian took me and we went to see a Ninetales Shaman and they were able to turn me into a real girl. I-it was the best thing that ever happened to me...But sometime I still feel like I have no idea how a real girl should act.''
She felt a bit bad about lying about her story to her new friends. But it was the closest thing from reality she could say without revealing she was a Faller.
Pokémon Shaman in this world was a profession that let Pokémon used the mystical power of Ether to not just be limited by the constraints of moves. But to use the Ether freely and cast spells. It was an ancient and sacred art passed down from ancient Ninetales. It was the same ability that allowed them to cast curses on people that offended them. But that power could also be harnessed for the benefit of people instead of punishing them.
Some Pokémon Trainers trained their Pokémon to unlock this ancient art. But wild Ninetales were also known to practice the art without human guidance. They were harder to find than ones trained by humans. But their price were much more affordable than human Shamans. However it could be risky to seek out a wild Ninetales Shaman. Most of the master of their craft could change gender and/or species of someone without issue. But Ninetales Shaman who hadn't yet mastered the craft could make some mistakes.
Oh, they will turn the person into the opposite gender with no issue. However since they have not interacted with many humans they might not understand all the intricacies that make up a male or female human body. For example they might not understand that female tend to prefer to have long hair. Or that males aren't supposed to lactate milk out of their nipples. Or that girls should not have large adam apple. The most infamous and hilarious mistake made was when a Ninetales Shaman accidently gave a trans man a canine penis. The man decided to keep it as it is rather than pay for it to be changed. If rumored are to be believe he had a very prolific sex life from men and women curious to see if the rumor was true.
Usually by the time people find these mistakes the Ninetales Shaman had disappeared and they had to bite the bullet and seek out a human one that will charge at a prenium price.
Robin looked at the girls around her nervously. Hoping she didn't made a mistake by partially revealing some of her past. Maybe they wouldn't want her sitting at the girl's table anymore, or worse what if they didn't keep their promise and spreaded her story all over the school?
Giselle was the first one to talk. ''Ah, that explain why you were so embarassed about getting exposed. Boys don't tend to go naked at all.''
Robin winced at the insunation she might still be a boy. ''Oh! Not saying you weren't always a girl. Just that people would treat you like a boy back then, right?'' The girl with the messy brown hair slightly nudge Giselle with her elbow.
The dreary girl nodded slowly. ''That's what I meant.'' She replied slightly confused as to why she was being corrected. Robin felt better that she didn't mean anything bad by it.
Then the pigtailed girl gasped loudly slightly making everyone around recoil in shock. ''You know what this mean?! We can show Robin all the best things about being a girl! This is perfect!''
Giselle shook her head and looked at Robin as with genuine pity in her expression. ''My condolence.''
Before they could discuss things any further the boy who had exposed her in front of the cafeteria walked toward the table. The girls all glared at him while Robin looked away uncomfortably.
''I'm sorry again, usually the other girls don't get too upset about our stupid stunts. I promised we'll not do it again, alright? Here is a replacement for the lunch you accidently dropped because of me.'' He put a tray on the table and it was the exact same order she had picked. A slice of pizza and two piece of garlic breads.
''T-thank you, sorry for making such a big scene.'' Robin replied awkwardly.
The cute girl with blonde hair shook her head. ''Don't apologize for being shy about your body. We all have something we're not comfortable sharing with other people. You shouldn't try to force yourself out of your comfort zone just to fit in with everyone else. That path only lead to misery.''
''S-see you back in class Robin, I-I guess.'' The boy said awkwardly before rapidly walking away from their table.
Robin bit into her pizza. And just as expected it was pretty mediocre. But she still devoured it like it was the best meal she had in days. The other girls seemed amused about her appetite. Just as she was about to tear into the garlic bread. A familiar little chinchilla Pokémon step into the cafeteria.
Robin smiled and waved at the Minccino. ''Hey Charlie over here!'' However Robin soon stop when she saw the unhappy expression the Pokémon gave her. She began to talk into her smart phone and to her surprise the usual feminine robotic voice had been replaced by a more masucline sounding one.
[I can't join you at the girl's table Robin. I'm a guy.]
Robin was now completely confused about Charlie's words and instinctively glanced between the Minccino's leg. To her bewilderment she could actually see a small sheat and two small little testicles hanging from her crotch.
Charlie turned around and went to sit at the boy's table.
''H-huh?! Is this like Charlie's twin brother or something?! I'm certain she was a girl the last time I talked to her.'' Robin asked completely astonished.
The blonde girl looked remorceful for a second. ''Oh, no one told you? You're...not the only transgender person in our class Robin. Charlie is gender fluid, which mean that some days he feel like a girl and other times he feel like a boy.''
''O-oh she- I mean he never told me.'' Robin said with a frown.
''Well to be fair you have just met him today.'' The girl with glasses replied.
Robin shook her head. ''No I met Charlie about a month ago. He...Kind of saved my life.''
''That's amazing! Saving a damnsel in distress like some prince from a fairy tale!'' Pigtailed said with stars in her eyes.
The blonde haired girl shook her head. ''Rosie, please don't ship our classmates again. Robin is probably not even a Poképhile.''
''P-poképhile?'' Robin asked somewhat baffled.
''You know someone who really like Pokémon, in like a romantic way.'' The girl she had now learned was called Rosie replied.
''O-oh, that's allowed?'' Robin asked somewhat surprised then again, should she really be surprised with how crazy this world was?
The blonde girl made a so-so gesture. ''Trainers who have relationships with their Pokémon are heavily monitored by the League. They have to declare their relationship to a Pokémon Center. If they do not do this and the relationship is discovered their licence will be taken from them, as will their Pokémon. For the first year after the relationship has begun anytime their Pokémon enter a Pokémon Center they will ask the Pokémon if they conscent to the relationship and they will check for any signs of abuse. Once the year has gone by, the monitoring is lessened. If a human want to actually marry or have children with a Pokémon, however. They have to let the Pokémon register as a Pokémon Citizen.''
''Humans can have children with Pokémon?'' How many curveball will this world keep throwing at her? She felt like everyday her entire worldview was put on it's head.
This time it was Giselle who replied in her usual monotonous voice. ''Only with Pokémon in the human-like egg group. If you want to have children with your Minccino, you're out of luck.''
Robin spluttered and her face turned red like a tomato. ''He's not my-...and beside I would never consider-...I'm not into Pokémon!'' She finally managed to say.
''Everyone is into at least one Pokémon species, they're just too embarassed to admit it.'' Giselled replied completely unimpressed.
''Oh yeah and what Pokémon are you into?'' Robin asked as if daring her to say it. Unfortunately as she would soon learn, Giselle had no shame.
''Greavard, you have a cool ghost type and a doggy dick all in one. The best of both worlds.'' She replied with a completely deadpan expression. Robin slammed her head on the table in embarassed surrender.
Eventually the bell rung, signalling the end of the lunch break. Robin managed to forget about all her embarassment in the cafeteria as the excitement of learning more about Pokémon overtook her.
''Alright class today we will learn more about Pokémon types.'' At that the rest of the class begin to groan in exhasperation.
''This again?! How many time do we need to learn about type matchups?'' A boy with a blue cap slumped on his desk with a clear bored face.
''Now, now, not everyone here is as familiar with the different types as you Johnathan. How about you Robin, can you name me all the known types?''
Robin froze like a deer in the headlight at being chosen like this on the first day. But did her best to actually answer the question. ''Umm, there's Normal, Fire, Water, Grass, Electric, Psychic, Ice, Dragon, Dark, Fighting, Flying, Poison, Ground, Rock, Bug, Ghost and Steel. That's it, I think.''
''Are you sure?'' The teacher ask with a raised eyebrow.
Robin tried to wrack her brain to see if she forgot about anything. But she was pretty sure she listed everything. ''I think so.''
The teacher shook his head making her stomach drop. ''Can anyone tell me what type Robin forgot?''
''Oh! Me! Me! Me!'' Rosie exclaimed waving her had in the air frantically.
''Yes Rosie?'' The teacher asked slightly exhasperate.
''Robin forgot the Fairy Type!'' The pigtailed girl responded cheerfully.
Robin felt confused. Fairy Type? What the heck was a Fairy Type? She was pretty sure that was never a thing in the show. Heck there was literally a Pokémon named Clefairy and she's pretty sure that was just a Normal Type.
''Yes, you are correct. The Fairy Type was the most recent addition to the Type chart. It was only officially coined about six years ago in the Kalos region and spreaded from there. Which is very recent, relatively speaking. Most other types had been recognised for centuries at the very least. So the Fairy Type was quite a shake up from the accepted norm. Now can anyone tell me what are the strenghts and weaknesses of the Fairy Type, how about you Giselle?''
The dreary girl sighed as if she was asked to do an herculean task. ''Fairy Type are strong against Fighting, Dark and Dragon Types and it's weak against Poison and Steel Types.''
Hmm, A type that was strong against Dragons huh? She didn't play the games but that Type always seemed overpowered. She wondered if the games would have introduced the Fairy Type eventually or if that was just a quirk of this weird world she ended up in.
The lecture continued like that with the teacher choosing a Type at random and asking students to list their strenght and weaknesses. This continued for about half an hour until the teacher finally stop.
''Alright class, there was a very good reason why I decided to refresh all of you on Type matchup. And that is because today I want all of you to think deeply about something that might affect the rest of your life. As you know this school give away Pokémon to any students who manage to gain a Trainer License before they graduate. Today I want all of you to write down who would be your ideal possible starter Pokémon. You can list three of them from most wanted to less wanted. Please try to keep your requests realistic, the school cannot afford to get a regional starter for each of you and don't even think about asking for a pseudo legendary either.''
A few people grumbled at that. But most students were excited about the prospect of potentially getting a Pokémon of their own.
The teacher passed around sheet with three empty cases that were meant to be filled with Pokémon names.
Robin nervously grab a pen and tried to think deeply. She had always dreamed of getting one of the regional starters so she was a bit dissapointed that wasn't an option. She tried to think about what would be a good Pokémon to start a Journey with. Pikachu? Nah as much as she liked Pikachu if she had one she would want to evolve it into Raichu. Unfortunately from what Anabel told her, evolutions stones were really rare and expensive. Getting a starter she couldn't fully evolve because of a lack of fund didn't sound like a good idea.
She nearly gasped when she tought about a Pokémon she absolutely adore due to how cute it was and all the possible evolutions it had.
'Eevee' was written first on the paper. Sure some of it's evolutions required stones too, but not all of them. And Espeon and Glaceon were by far her two favorite Eevee evolutions anyway, neither of which required a stone.
What was one thing she was worried about her journey that maybe a Pokémon could help resolve? Right she was afraid she wouldn't be able to be in shape in time before her journey began and she would struggle with travelling all day. But there was a Pokémon she loved that might resolve this.
'Ponyta' was written as the second choice. She would still try to become fit before her adventure began but if she couldn't. At least Ponyta could carry her when she became too tire to continue. She would try to not abuse the poor pony too much and only ride it when there was no other choice.
For her last choice she wanted to choose something that there was no way the school wouldn't be able to provide. She was afraid that if all her choice were unobtainable they wouldn't give her a Pokémon at all. So she choose a Pokémon that was known to be very common in Hoenn.
'Poochyena' She might be a girl at heart but she always loved dogs. And starting an adventure with a canine companion sounded like the best.
A few minutes later the teacher came to collect all our papers. ''Now the school will look over your choices and try to provide you with your preferred Pokémon. Please remember that whether or not you get your ideal Pokémon depend on if you school can find your preferred species or if it can afford the price of getting it from a breeder. The school has a certain budget it cannot go over for any student. So if you asked for a very expensive species we most likely won't be able to afford it.''
Robin saw a few students wincing at his words and realising they might not get what they wanted. Since Robin only knew Pokémon from the anime, she did not actually know whether or not Eevee was a rare Pokémon. But she felt somewhat hopeful. There were many trainers who had Eevee or their evolution in the show, surely they couldn't be that rare? But even if she didn't get an Eevee she would be happy with any Pokémon she got.
Soon after the bell rung once again. Signalling the end of the class.
The last class of the day had been science class. It was pretty uneventful and mostly similar to what she remembered from her old school. Except sometime the teacher would throw a few curveball and mention some things that would definitely defy the laws of physics in her old world.
Like one of the question the teacher asked in class was what would a 210 kilogram Onix weight like while inside a Pokéball. Robin had learned back in her old school that mass could not be created or destroyed. But apparently here the answer was 8.4 kilogram. And apparently it would be even lower than that if the Onix was caught inside a Heavy Ball. Despite the name the ball was designed to lower the weight of really heavy Pokémon to make them easier to throw in battle. Having your Pokéballs weighted down by your Pokémon heavy mass could make it harder to release your Pokémon at the desire position in the field. And in competetive battle that could make or break your whole strategy. But most Pokémon are light enough that such a conumdrum isn't an issue.
Another thing she learned was that this world's sea contained nowhere near the same amount of salt as the sea in her old world and as such was actually safe to drink in small quantity. If you ever came close to dehydration while sailing. But it could still become dangerous if you started to only drink sea water as your main source of hydration.
One boy smugly declare that as a prospective Water Type specialist he would never run out of water thanks to his Pokémon team.
The science teacher smirked amused before dashing his dream with a fact that Robin would have rather not known. ''You can actually drink water from Water Type Pokémon if you wish. However you should know that what Water Type Pokémon spit out is not pure water. Around twenty percent of the water they produce is actually saliva.''
''Ewwwww!'' The whole class including Robin exclaimed. And the boy who had bragged earlier lost his smugness as he sunk in his seat both embarassed and disgusted by what he learned.
''I would still drink it.'' Giselle said quietly enough that only Robin heard her. The trans girl tried to desperatly to forget she heard anything as she grimaced. Giselle was...definitely special.
Finally after a mostly normal class, the bell rung. Signalling the end of the final class of the day. It was now time to return home.
Robin left the school from the front entrance. She still had to see her dorm room. But since her house was so close to school she didn't really have a reason to use it right now. Or at least that's what she tought.
But as she exited the school Robin was surprised to see Anabel waiting on the paved road in front of the school with a suit case in her hand. ''Anabel? What's happening?'' Robin asked once she was in hearing range.
Anabel shot the young girl an apologetic look. ''Sorry Robin, but a new big job just fell into my lap. A bunch of weird Pokémon just emerged from the Great Crater of Paldea. All the best members of the International Police has been called to be on standby to try to contain the situation. I'll probably be gone for the next month. So rather than be stuck all alone in an empty house. I tought it would be better if you moved in to your school dorm until I get back.''
Anabel then moved to give the suitcase to Robin. As the girl took it she couldn't help but think it was surprisingly light.
''I put your two spare school uniforms in there and a few pajamas I bought last minute. I didn't think you would need your other regular clothes here, so I left them at home.'' Robin frowned at her words remembering something she wanted to bring up.
''So you didn't put my panties in there?'' Robin asked, knowing, but still afraid of the answer.
''Oh no! Did you want them? I tought you were fine like this. I can return quickly to get them for you if you want!'' Anabel tried to smile but was evidently stressed about having to do something else before rushing on a mission.
Robin felt conflicted she didn't want to incovenience her guardian more than she need to. But she had to know something before making a decision. ''It's just, I can feel my butt and um...private place rubbing on my chair and on public seats. It's just I'm kind of worried about getting some kind of infection, by sitting on dirty stuff without any protection.''
Anabel looked confused for a second and then seemed to catch on to something. ''Oh right, I tend to forget our human biology might be different. Don't worry about that Robin, I don't know how it is in your old world but here vaginas are made of some tought stuff. It would take much, much more than just sitting naked on a public seat or on the ground for your girly bits to get infected. You would need to be like literally be sitting on a molding floor or on a literal rotting corpse buck naked before something could infect your vagina like you're worried.''
''Ewww, that's disgusting, but...good to know.'' Robin replied her face slightly green at the woman's words.
''I could still rush to get you, your panties if you really want.'' Anabel said with an obvious fake smile.
Robin tought about it, just today she had cried because her girlhood had been revealed to her whole class because of a dumb prank. But apart from that embarassing moment going around with no underwear had felt really nice and freeing. It had been a constant reminder she was a girl now as the breeze hit against her bare privates. It really helped her to keep the remnant of her disphoria at bay.
So making a decision she hoped she wouldn't regret she shook her head. ''No it's fine. You just removed my biggest worry. I...I think I want to get used to being more and more nude. I don't want to be tied down by the taboos of my old world. I want to be proud of my body and show it off!'' Robin's face turned red when she realised some people in the street heard her shout and now looked at her with bewildered looks.
Anabel chuckled and looked almost proud of the girl in front of her. ''You've only been in this world a short time and arleady you've grown so much. I can't wait to see how you will grow when you're on a proper journey.'' To Robin's shock the older woman started sniffling and turned around to wipe her eyes. ''I suppose I should be on my way. See you next month Robin.''
And with that Anabel began walking away and Robin couldn't help but feel a bit lonely arleady. As the closest thing to a mother she had in this world left her for what would be their longest period of time apart.
She wiped a few tears of her own and then glanced toward the school dormitory looming in the distance. As she began walking toward it she began wondering what type of roomates she would get. She knew she chose to be in the unisex dorms, but she hoped they wouldn't all be boys, it could get kind of awkward...
