"Mr. Librarian! Mr. Librarian! It's story day!"

A small child with blond hair and gleaming crimson eyes burst through the library's doors.

"Now now little Rudeus. I know your excited to hear this story, but we must use our inside voices in the library remember?"

A man with white hair and purple eyes rustled the kid's hair as he adjusted his glasses.

"Yes sir. Sorry."

"So. Would you like to know what this story is about before we begin?"

"Yes! I've been waiting 10 years for this I gotta know!"

"It's about where you got your name from. Or rather your great great great Uncle. This is his story."

"Wait really?! I keep seeing my name in history books so I thought it was a popular name, but if your saying that he has his own story and I share his name then does that mean it's all him?"

"Rudeus Greyrat. That was a man who wore his name with pride. Yet those who truly know him would know that there was a time before he was called Rudeus. But I can tell you about Thorn later. For now sit down, and I'll start on the day it all started."

In a cave system deeper into the Earth's crust than humans had ever dug, five children walked down a path marked with glowing crystals. On this day those children would all be turning ten years old.

There was a boy wearing a dark purple yukata dotted with stars. They seemed to flow when he moved, and being in his presence was enough to alleviate the harshest of fatigue.

One boy was wearing a red cloak and a wolf skull on his head. He could make his bloodlust a physical weapon powerful enough to crush the strongest of armies.

The last boy wore a black coat with a green undershirt and black pants. He had two pairs of black wings. One pair extended from his back like a pair of Angel wings, and the other pair angled down and sat on his waist making them look like a part of his coat. Darkness followed him, and those who crossed him would be faced by a legion of darkness.

One of the girls was wearing a simple white dress and wore a scarf around her neck. She too had wings sprouting from her back, but she only had one set. The shadows were her playthings. She waved her arms around happily as she ran ahead of the group.

The final child was a girl with brown hair and Pink highlights. She wore an elegant pink dress and a long brimmed hat. She covered her eyes with a pair of sunglasses. It was rumored that meeting her gaze was enough to make someone go insane. Flowing around her was a pink slime like creature. Her pet and sentient weapon, Kumu.

The girl running ahead of the group turns back around and yells to the rest. "Guys it's over here! I found it!"

The boy with four black wings rubs his head. "Pin stop yelling so much. You'll attract monsters."

The boy wearing the wolf skull raps his arm around the winged boy. "Oh come on Kuroi loosen up a bit wontcha? We're finally fulfilling our destinies today! Besides there aren't any monsters here we couldn't take on. We'll be fine."

"Whatever you say Raion."

The boy wearing the purple yukata laughs to himself and the pink haired girl just lets out a sigh.

"What are we gonna do with them?"

The boy looked back to the pink haired girl and shrugged. "Dunno. But can you blame Pin and Raion for being excited? Today is the day we get to prove ourselves to our master's. We gotta make it count!"

Kuroi and Raion turned back to the two who were lagging behind as they reached the portal crystal. "Oi! Thorn Phoebe hurry up you bums! We're gonna be late!"

Thorn shook his head. "Ray we're ten minutes early. We'll be fine."

As they all gathered around the glowing purple crystal Thorn touched it and stars shot out of it. Water that looked like the night sky shot out and wrapped around everyone. When the astral water dispersed into the air, the group found themselves in the middle of a Sakura tree forest. Thorn took the lead this time and sung songs to occupy the group until they reached their destination.

They approached a large set of double doors attached to a large temple like structure. Thorn turned back to look to the others. "You guys ready for this? After we prove ourselves worthy, we'll go on a giant adventure. An adventure like no one's seen before! Before that though we gotta pick a party leader. Whose up for a vote?"

The others glanced at each other looking confused. Kuroi was the first to speak up.

"I thought that choice was obvious? You."

"Huh?"

Kuroi pointed at Thorn and Raion spoke up as well. "You're the strongest out of all of us. When you and I fight we always tie, but don't think I can't tell you're holding back. Besides you're really good at talking to people and you're a pretty funny guy!"

"Good at talking to people? No way! I'm good at talking to you guys and my master. Anyone else and I look like a blubbering fool! Any of you would make a better pick than me!"

Phoebe now piped up. "See? It's that humbleness that makes you a good pick for our leader. You don't let all that power go to your head. All in favor of Thorn being our leader say I!"

"I!"

"I!"

"I!"

"And that's four out of five votes for Thorn! Now come on let's do this thing!"

Phoebe turned Thorn around and pushed him towards the doors.

"Well guess I don't have much of a choice then. I'll do my best!"

Placing his hands on the door Thorn pushed them open. Walking inside the group found themselves surrounded by a series of thrones though only a few were occupied.

Sitting on the highest throne was a man with long grey hair and a long gray beard. His eyes sizzled with electrical power.

To his right was a man with fiery orange hair. Flames whooshed from his eyes as a smile spread across his tanned face.

To his left was another man wearing full body armor with a halberd and shield leaning against his throne.

The group reached the center of the room. Thorn having been designated the leader of the group spoke up.

"Lord Zeus. Lord Helios. Lord Ares. We have come to take your tests to become worthy of godhood."

With his voice bellowing like thunder Zeus spoke. "You may rise."

"If I may my Lord. May I ask where the others are. I have no doubt that you can give us this test, but I was under the impression that our teachers would be the ones giving it to us."

"It's a simple explanation really."

Three flashes of light filled the room as more thrones were filled.

One with a man with paper white skin and hair. His hair tied into a ponytail resting across his shoulder and falling down his chest. Behind thin glasses laid pitch black eyes with small white rings acting as the iris. Kuroi and Pin's teacher. Erebus God of the Void.

One was filled by a man with the head of a lion. He wore regal robes and a battle axe rested at his side. Raion's teacher. Kemono, the God of Beasts.

The last held a man with a disfigured face. His mouth was on his left cheek and his nose spread across from his forehead to his right cheek. He had multiple eyes that would open and close all over his body. Phoebe's teacher. Daeos, God of Despair.

Zeus shrunk down to his human form and hopped down from his throne. The other Gods followed his example. All except for Erebus.

"We've come to a decision you see. We don't want to give up our places in this pantheon just yet."

"W-what do you mean by that sir."

"Simple. We're going to kill you. Ares."

Ares stepped forward and equipped his halberd and shield. "Sorry kiddos. Father's orders. No hard feelings?"

Kuroi pushed a hand towards Pin. "Expel!"

A hole appeared in the wall behind us and Pin shot through it.

"Sigh. What a pain. Helios go deal with her."

"Yes sir."

Disappearing in a flash of light Helios burst into flames.

"Crap!"

Kuroi turned around to go after Pin, but got stabbed in his left leg by Ares.

"Oi! You've got business to attend to boy!" He pulled his halberd up and grabbed Kuroi by his face. "Rule one: never turn your back on the enemy!"

Ares tried throwing Kuroi in the air, but I was able to catch him by controlling gravity. Kemono shot forward and attacked Raion. They clashed blades a few times and seemed to be on equal footing. That is until a scorpion tail shot out from behind Kemono and stabbed Raion in his side. He crumbled to the ground and his skin quickly turned a nasty shade of green. Kemono tried stabbing Raion, but I shot an energy beam forcing him to back off.

Using gravity manipulation I pulled Raion and Kuroi to me. Phoebe was in a battle of dominance with Daeos. Fear versus despair. Based on the sweat quickly gathering on Phoebe's fore head I could see who was winning.

'We need to fall back, but not only will they not let us. We aren't in any state to do that right now. Raion seems to be poisoned and Kuroi's leg is horribly injured. Phoebe loses that battle as soon as she moves, and Erebus hasn't even stood up yet. Think. Think! You have to be able to do something!'

Grasping at straws I start lowering the temperature. Not just the temperature of the area around us though. I start lowering the temperature of all of space. Once it reaches 0 degrees Fahrenheit (-17 degrees Celsius) I shot the temperature up to 100 degrees Fahrenheit (37 degrees Celsius). The surroundings froze and melted instantly and for a brief moment time was stopped for everyone else. I grabbed my friends and ran to the door.

I slammed against what felt like a wall, and when saw what it was I froze. Before me stood a man wearing a black suit and thin glasses. Skin and hair whiter than snow clashed with his black eyes. Erebus had stood up. The others were still frozen in time so how-

He grabbed Kuroi's collar and before I could do anything threw him into a black hole in the floor.

"You'll thank me later. Now get in the hole."

He reached forward to grab me, but a hand grabbed my shoulder from behind and I saw as the white rings in his eye turned pink.

"Thanks Phoebe. Now let's get Raion out of here. We can figure out how to save Kuroi in a minute."

"Right."

"And you're going where exactly?"

The doors opened and Helio walked back through. His hands and right foot were caked in burnt blood. The smell of iron filled the air.

"Got a snack for ya. In the mood for a chicken wing?"

He tossed over a scorched black wing.

"The girl disappeared in a flash of light, but her soul signature has been completely wiped out, so she probably got disintegrated. Oh well."

"You bastard! You'll pay!"

"Phoebe don't!"

Phoebe shot forward towards Helio. A cold feeling washed over me as the room grew darker. A cold hand took a place on Phoebe's shoulder and she stopped in her tracks. A large sum of eyes closed and reopened as mouths, as Daeos spoke.

"Come now Phoebe. I taught you better than this. We should've just given you kids your exams. From how this is going you'd have failed anyways."

Starting from Daeos's hand ice spread across Phoebe's body. He picked his hand up, balled it into a fist, and smashed Phoebe to pieces.

I tried to lunge forward, but Ares appeared in front of me and with a single slice of his halberd he cut off my right leg.

Lightning roared as Zeus approached me.

"And then there was one. Our reign shall continue forth, and you brats shall be nothing more than a distant memory. Good riddance."

As a last ditch effort I launched an attack at the one closest to me. Aiming towards Erebus I swiped my hand downwards.

Cleave!

Erebus's Left arm went flying as it was cleaved from his body.

"Tch!"

Zeus shot forward and a beam of pure electricity fired through my chest. Pain coursed through my body as the electricity shot through my veins and racked my muscles.

I fell down as smoke rose up from my mouth, eyes, ears, and nose.

'Why? I.. don't understand... where are you master. We need you... lord Millis.'

My vision went black.

When I awoke I was in a black space. Looking to my left and right I saw Phoebe and Raion respectively. In front of us was Erebus.

"Good you're all awake. Now we can explain."

He stepped to the left and my teacher, Saint Millis, walked out from behind him.

"Thank you Erebus for letting me use your domain for this."

"It is no problem I owe you a great debt after all."

I looked between the two confused.

"Sir Millis! What is the meaning of this?!"

He raised his hand with a solemn face. "I can understand your feelings Thorn. The other Gods didn't tell me about their ploy, and only told Erebus about it half an hour before it was set in motion. By the time his message got to me the battle had started."

"I... I see. What about the others. Kuroi and Pin?"

Erebus stepped forward.

"I have spoken with Kuroi. He is taking his exam as we speak. As for Pin, Sir Millis was successful in his attempts at sending her to the six sided world. It is the same world where you will be reincarnating into."

"Reincarnating?"

"Yes little rose." Millis stepped forward and held his hand out. A projection of a six sided cube rose from his palm. Five of the sides were charred and broken, but the side facing upwards was littered with oceans, land masses, and mountains.

"It is the world I originate from. Now. I will tell you what I told Pin, though since your souls are stable in this void space I can go into more details. The six sided world holds an abundance of mana, but the mana there is far weaker than the mana here. It's a quantity over quality situation. Because of this, the magic you know know will only be a hinderance to you, so I will be giving you all magic eyes to mimic your powers. They will start off being terribly weak, but as you practice and hone your skills with them they shall allow you to become stronger than you are now. Do remember that your not invincible however. There are some in this world who are stronger than the Gods of our world."

"I also wish to give you a choice. The most common language of this world is the human tongue. It's used on three of the major continents. If you wish I can give you the ability to understand this language, or you can learn it naturally. If I give you the ability to understand the language automatically, then you shall lose the ability to learn the other languages of this world. Which shall you prefer?"

"I think I'll learn it naturally, but thank you for your offer, master."

Phoebe answered next. "I'll learn it naturally as well."

"I'll take your offer on understanding it immediately."

"Okay then. As much as I'd like to send you all at the same time and to the same place I'd rather not garner the other Gods' attention. You'll all be born a few months apart, but I'll try and keep the distance as close as possible. I can guarantee that you will at least be on the same continent. I hope that you can all live lives you can be proud of. As I've said before Pin is already there, and Kuroi will be sent there as soon as his exam is completed. I pray that you can all find each other again. Farewell."

There was a bright flash of light and it felt as though I was falling asleep.

"Expel!"

'What?'

Kuroi pointed a hand at me and I shot through a hole in the wall.

'What's happening? Did they just say they were gonna kill us?! And who are you to blast me through a wall?! You're only 4 minutes older!'

"Heya. Sorry but I've gotta cut this little escape of yours short."

A flaming spear stabbed downwards through my left arm and I was forced into the ground.

"Why are y-you doing this? We didn't do anything wrong! We always did what we were told to do, so why?!"

"Why? Because we want to. That's what it means to be a God. To do whatever you want whenever you want. To never have to deal with the consequences of your actions."

Helio reached down and grabbed the spear in my arm. "I guess that first I can deal with this."

An explosion rang out as the spear exploding into flames and completely severed my arm. The wound was immediately cauterized by the fire.

I tried pushing my self up, but a boot slammed into my back and squished me into the ground.

"Now now. Where do you think you're going? I told you that I was cutting your escape short didn't I? I think this should help you realize your situation."

His hands caught on fire as he grabbed my left wing and tore it out of my back. His foot caught fire and burned my back. Instantly sealing the wound.

"AAAAAAAUUGGGHH!"

"Oh come on. Surely it can't hurt that~ bad. You sure you're not overreacting?"

He grabbed a hold of my other wing and I could feel it burst into flames. Just as he was about to rip it out, a bright flash of light pulled me away. When I opened my eyes I saw a man with blond hair and shining golden eyes.

"S-sir Millis? Wait what about the others?! They're-"

"Pin. It's okay."

"B-but."

"Listen I don't have time to explain. I'm sending you to another world. That world's mana isn't as powerful as our world's mana so I'm giving you magic eyes to mimic your old abilities. You won't age, and you'll be able to understand the human language. The others are-"

Light embraced me once again, and I grunted as I found myself lying on a dirt road. I looked around and saw trees, bushes, and a long dirt path.

I tried to push myself up, but a wave of fatigue slammed into me, and I lost consciousness almost immediately.

K404

*-Paul-*

It had been about four years since we formed The Fangs of the Black Wolf. Currently Elinalise, Talhand, Geese, Ghislaine, and I were walking though a forest to get to Kikka Kingdom, a relatively small kingdom on the south end of the central continent. We had just finished a monster hunting quest and were traveling back there to reap the rewards.

"Hey. What is that?" Elinalise who was in the front pointed to something laying on the side of the road. As we got closer we saw that it was a child.

"Sky folk? And what the hell happened to the poor lass. Looks like she was burned in the pits of hell itself."

Talhand's description wasn't that off the mark. She seemed to be about ten years old and was missing her left arm. She only had her right wing and it looked as if it were burned as well. The entire back of her dress had been burnt away and scorch marks covered her entire back. Parallel to where her right wing was, a deep wound was left where her left wing should have been attached. Elinalise reached down to check for a pulse, and as soon her hand touched the child's neck the kid jerked up and looked at us.

"Hey hey! It's okay. What's your name? I'm Elinalise."

The girl stared at us with bright grey eyes, almost silver in color but just not there.

"I... I'm P-Pin. Where am I?"

"Well then Pin. You're on the central continent. Like I said before I'm Elinalise. The man over there is Paul, the dwarf is Talhand, the monkey faced man is Geese, and the Beast women in the back is Ghislaine. What happened to you? Were you attacked?"

The girl tried standing up, but collapsed into Elinalise's arms.

"We... We got attacked. M-me and my f-friends. We all were gonna take a test, and prove ourselves to our teachers. But then their boss said we were gonna die, and my brother pushed me away with magic. Then he showed up, and blew my arm off. He burned me and tore out one of my wings. He was g-gonna tear out the other one, but our leader's teacher took me away. There was a bright flash and now I'm here. I... I d-don't even know if they're okay. *Sob*. They're so strong, b-but they looked so s-scared. Even our leader. I-I. Waah!"

The girl clung to Elinalise and started crying. From the sound of things this was probably some noble girl. To prove yourself to a teacher at ten years old was tradition in some kingdoms.

"So now what? We leave her here?"

Elinalise spun back and slapped me on the top of my head.

"You heartless bastard! How the hell could we leave this poor girl all alone. With the state she's in she wouldn't last a day! We're taking her with us!"

"Woah now Elly no need to get so angry. Think about. If they're going to prove themselves with a test at ten years old then they're probably nobility, and knowing nobles if we take her with us then they might send people after us, and that could bring all sorts of problems."

"Not to mention finances."

"Oh we wouldn't be having finance problems if you didn't gamble so much."

Ghislaine steeped forward and took off her eyepatch.

"Damn. I say we bring the kid. Their mana levels are insane, and from the looks of things they've got demon eyes."

Crap. So Ghislaine and Elinalise are for bringing her in and Geese and I are against it. That leaves one half of a man. We all looked back at Talhand who was sipping from his flask.

"What are you lookin at me fer. If Ghislaine says the lass is strong than that should be enough reason for us bring her along ain't it?"

3 to 2. And that's the story of how The Fangs of the Black Wolf grew from 5 members, to 6.

Its been a year since we found Pin, and let me tell you. It was like the Gods sent us an Angel.

She was insanely powerful. She could summon these nails and throw them at people's shadows. It would freeze them in place for barely a second, but that was plenty for me or Elinalise to dodge an attack or find an opening. Whenever she was in the shadows it was as if they surrounded her and made it hard to see her. In just a year she went from F-class to A-class.

Currently we were celebrating her rank up in a tavern in the town of Millits. It was a small town on the edge of the Millis continent.

"Haha! Rank A! How's it feel kiddo?"

I wrapped an arm around Pin as I drank from my mug.

"Ugh. You're drunk Paul. You stink."

"Wuh?! Oh come on how could I not drink? This little lady went from F to A class in a year at ten years old! It took us all 3 years! I'm pretty sure this makes you the youngest A ranker on the continent!"

"Oh come on. I doubt it. And besides. If my other friends were here then they could have done it in a month."

"Ah stop it. You're down playing yourself. And don't you think you're giving them to much credit?"

"No way! If I'm doing anything I'm underplaying them. Raion could beat a dragon with his bare hands, and Thorn could-"

"I know I know. Thorn could move the stars, Phoebe could make the strongest of warriors cower in fear, and Luroi could kill armies of men just by looking at them. I'm starting to think that you're making these stories up you know?"

"First off it's Kuroi not Luroi, and second off I would never lie about my friends!"

"Oh give the girl a break Paul. We shouldn't be teasing her, we should be congratulating her. Come here you!"

Ghislaine tackled Pin and gave her a big hug.

"Ghislaine! Not you to."

"Hahaha now this I can drink to!"

Talhand shouted out as he chugged down another drink.

"Talhand I don't think there's a single thing you can't drink to."

"Oh come on Elinalise. We all know you've got a soft spot for the kid. Why aren't you celebrating?"

"I am. I'm just waiting to give her her gift. Besides, Pin doesn't like the smell of alcohol."

"Blasphemy! Alcohol may as well be ambrosia of the Gods! We should be grateful that they allow us to drink such a rich beverage!"

We all laughed at Talhand's little outburst.

"The fuck are you talkin about?!"

Huh?

We turned around to see on the other side of the tavern a women wearing worn out clothes get hit by some rugged buff guy.

"We're payin you just fine, so just shut you're trap and heal when we say heal, and block monster attacks when we say to block! Got it?"

'Well what do we have here a damsel in distress? Time to be the hero I was always meant to be!'

"Pin stay here. Huh? Where'd she go?"

"And who the hell are- Augh!"

I looked back over just in time to see the man get flung through a window.

"Hey you brat! What'd you do to the boss?!"

Another two men ran towards Pin, but suddenly stopped in their tracks. Looking down at the floor I saw a single nail perfectly dropped on the one spot where the two men's shadows overlapped.

Pin kneeled down in front of the girl, and offered her a hand. They talk just quietly enough so that I couldn't hear them. Pin still holding the girls hand, brought her over to our table.

"My name is Zenith. Zenith Latreia. I've been traveling as an adventurer ever since I ran away from home. I'm intermediate in both healing and detoxification magic." She bowed in front of all of us. "Please let me join you're party!"

After a conversation that barely lasted a minute we let Zenith join our party as our new healer.

Having a healer in our group has let us take on more dangerous quests, and we've even challenged a couple labyrinths. We've pulled in a pretty good haul of cash in the past year.

Pin has gotten really close with Zenith to the point where she has started calling her Auntie. It was pretty adorable to be honest.

I looked over in my bed and saw Zenith's beautiful face. You wouldn't believe it, but I got to sleep with this beauty, and all I had to do was promise to not sleep with any other women.

I'm pretty sure Zenith knew I was lying when I said yes, but hey she didn't say anything, so who am I to complain.

Okay I guess I can complain a little. Pin found out about what happened. She brought me outside and said we were going to "train". Then she gave me my very real and very sharp sword, and lunged at me.

I could barely last ten minutes. She kicked my ass.

After about three months Zenith pulled me aside and told me that she was pregnant. Remembering the beating from Pin I decided to man up and marry Zenith. When we told the rest of the party we came to the decision to disband The Fangs of the Black Wolf. The others were unhappy with me, except for Pin oddly enough. She told me that she was happy I was starting to grow as a person.

'Is she really eleven years old?'

We had all gathered outside the inn. A carriage was waiting for Zenith, Pin, and myself. It was a short topic of debate for who Pin would go with, and in the end she decided to go with Zenith. Geese had said he'd never teach someone how to cook ever again since Zenith and I decided to get married shortly after their cooking lessons.

"So this is where we split ay?" Talhand sighed.

Elinalise grabbed and yanked my ear. "Now you better treat her well you hear! If I hear so much as a rumor of you hurting Zenny's feelings I swear to you Paul I will rain hellfire on you."

Pin pulled my sleeve and glared daggers at me. "Yeah! You hurt Auntie and I'll nail you to the ceiling of wherever we're staying at!"

"Hey Pin! Here." Ghislaine stepped forward and gain Pin a carved wooden ring attached to a string. "It's a necklace passed down from my people. Its too big for you so I put it on a necklace. It's said to ward off wolves during the night."

"T-thank you Ms.Ghislaine!"

"Daw Ghislaine. Look at you giving gifts. Now I wish I had made something."

"Oh please. She needs it more than I do. Besides, she can give it back once she's stronger. Use it as a way to prove you know me. If you show it to people and tell them that you know Ghislaine Dedoldia then they should stop giving you a hard time."

I helped Zenith into the carriage.

"Well we're off. Please don't hate me too much 'kay?"

"We'd hate you more if you left Zenny alone like this. Now go take care of her you filthy womanizer."

I sat down and closed the carriage doors. Both Zenith and Pin were starting to get teary eyed.

"Wuh. We haven't even started moving! What's wrong?!"

"W-we're gonna miss them so much!"

This was going to be a long carriage ride.

And it was then near the end of the year K406 that the S-Class party Fangs of the Black Wolf disbanded.

*-Raion-*

I was reborn with a twin sister. From what I could tell I was born in a problematic situation to say the least. Whenever Millis told Thorn, Phoebe, and I about our reincarnations they gave us a choice. We could be given the ability to already possess the knowledge of this world's most common language at the cost of not being able to learn the other languages. Being the human language. I took this, but Phoebe and Thorn both decided to take their time so that they could learn the other languages.

We were also given special eyes that allowed us to mimic our old magic, since unless we poured insane amounts of mana into it, the spell wouldn't hold its shape.

When I was being born my sister was pulled out first. I could only hear mumbling so I couldn't understand what they were saying. I was confused at first since it felt as though I was pulled and squeezed instead of pushed out. Eventually though the feeling gave way and I was born. My mother held me as she cried with a smile spreading across her entire face.

"They're gone. They can't take him, right Philip? They already left, so they can't take him."

What was this lady talking about? Someone was gonna take me? Take me where? In the old world when a baby was born in a hospital the doctors usually took the baby to give them general health checks. Looking around I could tell that I definitely wasn't in a hospital. It looked like some elegant 1800's royal English bedchamber.

Looking outside a window was a man with eyes squinted like a fox. From how he was the only other man in the room I assumed he was my dad.

"They are gone yes. But Hilda if James ever finds out about this it could mean death for us all."

Hilda clutched me harder and pulled me even further into a hug.

"We can keep him hidden. No one will know who he really is. I know! We can raise him as a knight or other kind of servant. That way they can stay in the house, and be close to us. Once he's older he could even be Eris's bodyguard."

"Is it over?!"

"Oh great. Now father's here."

The door busted open as a buff man with brown hair speckled with grey walked in. He approached the bed, but paused when he saw me.

"Wuh? A boy! But James's envoy left! How do you still have him?!"

"Don't look at me father. If you want an explanation than look to Hilda."

"I was quite shocked myself. But we can all thank this little one." Hilda shifted me in her arms and picked up another baby. "This is Eris. She was born first and after the envoy saw it was a girl, they wrote something down and left. During that whole process I had to push my pain down as I felt there was another baby in me. Once the envoy was gone all it took was one clean push to get the boy out. Thankfully he seems to be healthy."

"I see. Hah! So we finally got one over on that bastard in the capital! We'll do whatever it takes to keep the boy safe!"

Hilda and Philip explained to my grandfather their plan of making me a knight to serve Eris.

"What a wonderful idea! His identity remains hidden and he gets to stay with his family! I like it. I'll contact some merchant friends and see if I can get a hold of something to hide his red hair. Isn't that just great little guy?"

He put his finger in my palm and my hand reflexively grabbed it. There was a loud crunch noise as Grandfather's finger bent at an odd angle.

"Gods damn it! That's one strong baby! Bahahaha!"

My grandfather confuses me greatly.

It wouldn't be much longer until Auntie gives birth. She was in her eighth month and we had finally arrived in Roa. Paul said that the walls were built really high, and buildings were placed in special ways so that the city could be used as a fortress during war times.

"So what are we doing here again?"

"My uncle is the lord of the Fittoa region. He lives here and I'm hoping I can call in some favors to get a steady job."

"Ooh. Okay."

We arrived in front of a giant castle gate whenever a guard stopped us. Paul showed him some papers and they opened the gates so that the carriage could get through.

"Woah. This castle is huge."

"Castle? No this is a manor. Castles are bigger than this."

Is this man insane? Did Lisa hit him to many times on his head?

"Paul. How have you been? I take it your not here for a simple visit."

A skinny man spoke up to Paul as we exited the carriage.

"Oh! You've got a family? Never took you as the type to settle down."

"Well it's good to see you to Phillip. And while Zenith is my wife. Pin is more of an adopted... niece?"

I just nodded my head to him as I examined the 'manor' towering over us.

"I see. Well then follow me. I'll show Mrs.Zenith and little Pin to a waiting room while you and I discuss things with father."

Phillip brought Auntie and I to a nicely decorated room. A butler served us tea, and we both idly chatted as we waited for Paul to finish talking with his uncle.

At some point the door opened and a small girl walked in. She had red hair and red eyes. She looked to be 2 years old.

"I Ewis. I'm da ownew of dis howse so you haf to do as I say!"

For a two year old she actually did a pretty good job at talking.

"Eris! What did dad say about talking to stran-... Pin?"

Appearing behind Eris was a boy who seemed about the same age. He had blood red eyes and brown hair and was looking at me hopefully.

'Wait. Those eyes. Could it be?'

"Raion?"

"It is you!"

The boy jumped over Eris's head and tackled me into a hug.

"Raion?! How! I.. I thought?"

"Hey hey it's okay. I'm okay and the others are too."

"Wait really?!"

"Yeah. In fact Kuroi is taking his exam right as we speak. Erebus explained everything to us."

"I see. I'm so happy! I thought you all had died!"

"Um Pin? Is he a friend?"

Zenith looked at us quizzically and Raion had a face that said a big secret had just been let out.

In the end Raion ended up explaining the entire situation to Auntie.

"Reincarnated by Saint Millis himself?! That's incredible! I must know what kind of person he's like! What were his hobbies, favorite foods, what was his wife's name?!"

"Uh reading, macaroons, and their names were Christina and Emily."

Zenith stared at Raion with a confused look on her face.

"Wait. Christina and Emily? As in two wives?"

"Yeah. Christina and Emily. They're very nice."

"That can't be right. The Millis faith believes in monogamy but you're sitting here telling me that Saint Millis himself had two wives?"

"I think he told Thorn about this once. What is it that your faith tells you exactly?"

"They say 'Always stay true to the ones you marry.'"

"So it doesn't say specifically monogamy, but to just stay true to whoever you marry."

"Well-"

"So as long as you only love the ones you marry then there shouldn't be any issues. Don't forget that very little of the Millis faith was made by Millis himself. Most of it was human's interpretation of his actions. His 'demon expulsion' for example is meant to be the demons serving the demon god. Not all demons. I'd give you more details but that's all I know. If you want more you'll have to wait until we find Thorn. He was taught by Millis directly after all."

"Someone who was taught by Millis directly is going to be brought into this world?! Oh if only I could be lucky enough to be the mother of that child."

"Don't count to much on it. He said that while we'll be on the same continent we won't be to close so it's pretty unlikely. But hey if your baby has magic eyes then it might just be him. Who knows?"

"I see."

Zenith looked down a little sat and patted her stomach.

"Oh come on Raion! You could've let her dream a little. Say is Raion even your name or did you get a new one?"

"Oh it's still Raion. My parents tried giving me a new name but after hearing it I shut that down immediately. If we ever see Millis again I owe them a lot of thanks for these eyes."

"What did they try to name you?"

"They tried naming me Ares. Fun fact my magic eyes let me produce blood from cuts that appear on my hands. I used the blood to communicate that I wouldn't be named Ares unless they killed me, and that they could call me Raion. I'm acting as my older sister's bodyguard since the Boreas family has a tradition of all the boys being raised by the family head in the capital. My mom couldn't take it if another one of her children were taken away from her, so my birth was kept secret."

"Oooh. Well thank goodness you don't have to share a name with him."

"Yeah. I would've gone crazy. That reminds me. Hey Eris, don't tell anybody about what we talked about today okay? I'll tell you more cool stories if you don't. And I must of course ask you to do the same Mrs.Zenith."

"Ah yes. But only since your Pin's friend."

Eris's eyes lit up as she looked over at Raion.

"Okay! Won't tell!"

"Good. While we still have some time left, could I interest you both in a tour?"

In the end Paul managed to convince Phillip and Sauros to give him a job. They were shocked when they didn't find us in the room, and Raion got scolded for leading us around. It was weird cause Sauros looked proud the entire time and was complimenting him throughout the scolding.

Right before we left Paul put up a notice for a maid who has experience with child rearing, since none of us had any.

Now we were on our way to a village called Buena Village. Paul was to become the Knight of the village. He'd keep it safe from monsters and bandits, and would help solve the people's troubles and conflicts.

The house we were given was pretty nice compared to the other village houses. It was a two story house. There was a shed and a stable to. On the inside, the bottom floor had a bathroom, a kitchen that also served as a dining area, attached to the kitchen by a large doorframe was a decently sized living room, and in the corner a door led to a small bedroom that seemed to be right under the master bedroom. Paul said that once we get a maid or someone to help with the baby they would stay in that room.

The second floor held two bedrooms slightly smaller then the master bedroom, a study which doubled as a storage room, and the master bedroom. I put all my stuff in one of the medium sized bedrooms and Paul put all the baby's stuff in the other one. After three hours of moving the stuff inside, Paul had gotten all the stuff put in the rooms it belonged. It was all out of place, and he said he'd do the essentials today and do the rest tomorrow. He got the stuff set up in the kitchen and the beds put together in our bedrooms. By the time he was done I had finished making dinner for us all. Since we didn't have a bunch of ingredients it was just some sandwiches, but they were still really good and nutritious. I swear!

A week later there was a knock on our door. When Paul opened it I saw a lady with red hair tied into bun, and wearing a maid outfit. She introduced herself as Lilia and said that she was her for the maid position. Paul welcomed her in and as soon as she set her bags down she adjusted her glasses and went into a cleaning frenzy. The house was by no means a "mess", but someone who looked closely enough could see a small layer of dust on most shelves and countertops, and how everything was barely off the mark with its placement. Paul did his best and was proud with the arrangement, but to a professional like Lilia he looked like a blubbering oaf. Though he looked like that to most people anyway. Currently Lilia was doing the dishes since we just finished lunch. Paul didn't officially start his job until a week after the baby's birth, but he was out right now to go and introduce himself to the locals.

'Oddly responsible for him. He's grown more than I thought.'

Auntie was laying in bed a lot since she was starting to get more and more tired everyday. Lilia said that that meant she would be giving birth within a week or two, and that it was natural.

"Ms.Lilia?"

"Hm? Oh young master. There is no need for you to call me Miss. I'm the servant of this household. That puts me below you."

"Wah! No it doesn't! Your a person just like me, Auntie, and Paul! You aren't below anyone Ms.Lilia!"

She turned her head towards the dishes, but I could see a small smile creep onto her face.

"I appreciate those words young master, but as the child of my master that does indeed-"

"Huh! I'm not related to him!"

"Truly? My deepest apologies. I had made that assumption based on how they treat you."

"No no it's fine. I can see why there was a misunderstanding. I'm actually not related to either Paul or Zenith."

"Oh. I see."

"Yeah. If not for Paul though I'd probably be dead. Haha. Sorry, not really something I should laugh at huh."

"If I may young master. How did you meet the master and madam? To my knowledge the sky folk don't ever leave the divine continent."

"I... Actually how about this. Since we're both staying here and aren't related to Paul or Auntie how about we trade stories. I'll tell you about my past and you can tell me about yours'. Deal?"

Lilia looked at my stump of an arm as I looked at her waiting for an answer.

"And yes the story would include what happened to my arm and wing."

"I suppose so. Allow me to finish these dishes at least please."

"Oh I actually came over asking if I can help with those. I feel bad about staying here without contributing anything. Not that I want to take over what your doing though! I just want to help where I can!"

"If that is how you feel than can you please help me by handing me the dishes?"

"Yes!"

After finishing the dishes Lilia and I sat on the couch in the living room.

"Well then young master, I'll go first. Is that alright?"

"Mhmm."

"I was born in the city of Ars. My father lead a dojo focusing on the water god style, and I was considered to be the star student. Until Paul showed up. He beat me as if it were child's play. Eventually he decided he was to good for the dojo. Before he left he made the decision to defile the rose of my father's dojo, and forced himself on me. In truth I was angry at the time, but after seeing what could have become of me from the snobby nobles I dealt with, I am actually thankful it was him. I was hoping to use his past actions as blackmail if he had declined to give me the job, but to my surprise the young immature boy has married and become a proud man."

"I don't know if I'd call him "proud". Also what's this about him forcing himself on you? I'll kill him!"

"There is no need young master! The past is the past. It cannot be changed."

"I see. Well fine. But what happened between the dojo and you coming here?"

"After my father found out about what had happened, he disowned me and kicked me out of the dojo. I managed to get a job as a bodyguard and maid at the royal palace for the second princess. During an assassination attempt my leg was stabbed by a poisoned dagger. The healers of the castle were able to heal the wound, but found that there was nothing they could do about the poison. It has limited my leg's movement, and the king fired me. I fled from the city in fear for my life. I knew to much and was worried that they would send someone after me. Eventually I came across a notice looking for someone to act as a maid and caretaker for a baby. It wasn't the job that caught my eye however, it was the name. Paul Greyrat. And so I found my way here."

"Woah. So you used to be a swordswomen? That's so cool!"

"Yes, but my leg now prohibits me from using the sword. If I could I'd show you what I could do, but I'm afraid that's not possible anymore."

Lilia looked down and rubbed her left knee. She had a solemn look on her face.

"Don't worry! I have a friend who can help. You'll hear about him in my past. He can do anything, even move the stars. He's the coolest!"

"Moving the stars you say? This is going to be quite the story then."

I told Lilia all of it. About how I came from another world. About how every thousand years the Gods would come to the mortal realm and choose children born on that day to become their students. I told her about myself, Raion, Kuroi, Phoebe, and Thorn. I spared no details. I told her about the Gods' betrayal and our supposed deaths. She was shocked to hear about how Auntie and I actually found Raion in Roa. I think that she thought I was making it up at first.

"Oh my. It sounds like you've been through quite a lot then."

"Yeah. I just can't wait to see my friends again."

"I can see why. They sound like wonderful people. Especially this Thorn fellow. You speak of him quite fondly. You wouldn't happen to have feelings for him would you?"

I reflexively started waving my hand in the air.

"No no no! No way! He was like a brother to me! He's just really cool!"

"I see. Sorry young master. It seems I made assumptions again."

"It's fine. Now what time... Gah! How is it already afternoon?!"

"Well they say that time flies. Now I must get things ready for dinner."

"Wait let me help! I'm the one who made you late."

"As you wish."

Lilia and I both rose and went into the kitchen. We made potato soup for dinner, and had it ready just as Paul got home. It was amazing.

"Just keep pushing madam! It's almost here!"

"Ngh! I'm trying! Hah! It hurts!"

Well this is one way to wake up. Auntie had started the birthing process, and Paul came to get me so that I could get everything Lilia needs.

"Young master I need a wet rag and warm water."

"Got it!"

I raced outside and filled a bucket with warm water. Using elementary fire magic I heated the water and through a rag in the bucket. I got back upstairs just in time to see Lilia pull the baby out.

'Why does she look so worried?'

"I got the bucket. What's wrong?"

"Thank you young master."

Lilia took the bucket and rag and started wiping down the baby. After it was all clean she handed it to Auntie.

"Madam? It's a boy, but..."

I looked past Lilia's arm and saw... green hair? But Paul not Auntie have green hair.

Paul looked over and frowned at the child.

"Why is his hair..."

"Now master please remain calm. There have been occurrences where children have been born with green hair. People in the castle referred to it as a mutation. It shouldn't affect his health. His leg however..."

"What do you mean his leg? Lilia?"

Paul reached down and undid the blanket that the baby was wrapped in. His right leg looked like it was covered in a black tattoo. As if vines were wrapped up his feet to his thigh.

"I don't understand how this happened so I can only assume he managed to get the injury at some point in the womb. Though it is unlike anything I've ever seen."

"No no. It's something more than that."

"Hmm?"

Lilia looked over at me as I got a closer look at the baby's leg.

"It's his mana. It's not circulating through the leg. It's as if any time his leg gets mana." I put my hand on his leg and put some mana into it. There was a glow, and for just a second his leg looked normal, but then returned to its blackened state. "The rest of his body takes it. It's almost like his body isn't registering the fact that his leg is there."

Zenith held onto the baby as tears fell down her face.

"Oh my poor baby. My poor poor baby. What did you do to deserve this?"

The baby's eyes fluttered open, and he looked directly at me. I noticed his eyes immediately. Instead of eyes there were black pits. Well no that doesn't describe it well. He did have eyes. They were just pure black. The baby started giggling hysterically as if he were told the funniest joke he'd ever heard.

"Well madam, he sounds healthy."

Paul leaned onto the bed and put his arm around Zenith.

"I'm still stuck on his leg. And what's up with his eyes?"

Zenith looked over at me. Asking me a question that I was all to happy to answer.

"Seems Raion was wrong. With eyes like those there's only one answer."

Zenith held the child and smiled widely.

"A blessing. He truly is a blessing from Saint Millis."

Paul looked at us confused, but decided it wasn't worth asking about since Zenith wasn't sad anymore.

"So Auntie. What are you gonna name him?"

"Hmm. How about Rudeus? Rudeus Greyrat."

Rudeus smiled and waved his hands around. Tiny spots appeared in his eyes, and stars appeared around the room as he giggled, and everyone found themselves laughing. It was as if joy was the only thing they could feel.

"Well. It seems the young master likes his name."

"That he does Ms.Lilia. That he does."

*-Rudeus-*

It's been a week since I reincarnated and man it's been crazy.

First things first. My parents were Paul and Zenith Greyrat, and our maid's name was Lilia. How do I know this even if I can't speak the language? Pin was here! Talk about a surprise.

She told me a bunch of stuff in Japanese when no one else was around. Raion had apparently already been reincarnated. They met up when Dad was convincing his uncle to give him a job. Also it seems my mom knows I'm a reincarnate and celebrates it by praising Saint Millis, who by the way has his own religion and continent! When was he gonna tell me this?

Anyways. The maid also knew of our past world and after getting my permission to tell her. Pin told Lilia that I was Thorn. She took the news well apparently.

Pin and I had a difficult time communicating, but we got by. She'd have to ask yes or no questions, and I'd giggle for yes and raise my arms for no. I'd do something like raising a certain number of fingers, but my motor controls aren't developed enough for that.

'Man. I'm so tired. I gotta rest. But I can't fall asleep with all this noise!'

"Oh dear!"

It's barely been a week and their going at it already? What the heck man! If I can't sleep might as well practice with my eyes. Let's see what I can do. I already had a vague understanding of the eyes. I could tell that it gave me access to three abilities. I could see people's souls, I can control space to a much smaller extent than before, and I haven't figured out what the third ability is, but I can sense that it's there.

I raised my hands and focused on the space around me. I imagined the air cooling down, and it complied making my crib a nice 68 degrees Fahrenheit (20 degrees Celsius). Next I made the area silent to block out the noises my parents were making. You'd think they'd be a bit more considerate since I'm barely ten feet away, but no~. Using my eye to any degree caused me to get exhausted, and having the air around me cooled to a perfect temperature I fell asleep with ease.

My right leg was a mystery to me. I could get it to become normal by forcing my mana to circulate through it, but I couldn't even do it for three seconds before passing out. Whenever I'd wake up it'd be all black again. My mana levels were rising each time though.

Anytime depleted them to zero they'd double the next day. It was annoying passing out every time, but hey can you blame me? I'd always feel so refreshed whenever I woke up. It was like a nice long nap. Mainly because it was, but the point still stands.

Either way I'd be doing whatever I could to raise my mana levels anyways since that's what Sir Millis told me to do. Pin also said that this world had its own magic system as well, so I hope I can find a way to learn about that. Pin said there was a book about it in the house, but that she would wait until I could read, write, and talk until she read it. That way we can learn together.

It's been a month now and I've gotten better at using my eyes. If I focus on someone's soul hard enough I can see things like their age, race, and health conditions. Though Pin told me that when I do this it feels as if you get really cold.

I've started making things float with my spacial control. I haven't been able to pick up anything larger than 5 pounds though. (About 2.5 kilograms) My mana pool has grown, but it's still a little smaller than Pin's. It won't be long until I pass her up though.

Mom and Dad still continue to go at it like rabbits. I wonder if I'll get a baby brother or sister. It'll have to happen eventually. I feel bad for Lilia though. Pin says that Lilia's room is right underneath the master bedroom, and with how loud they get she can definitely hear them. I hope it doesn't get to her to much.

Pin said that her practice with her eyes have been showing good results as well. So long as she has been somewhere frequently she can move through shadows to get from one place to another. This meant that she couldn't go to the manor in Roa, but she could go anywhere in our house. Depending on the strength of a person she can nail their shadows down for longer periods of time. The amount hasn't increased by much though. She can freeze Paul for 6 seconds max, and if she used it on someone stronger she thinks it'll only last about three seconds.

I looked outside the window as Mom held me to show me some potted plants. I was still struggling to understand her, so I wasn't really paying attention. I was gonna make the most of this life. In this new world where I have loving parents and can be with my friends again.

And that brings chapter 1 of Rosey reincarnation to a close! We see some new faces and some you'll recognize from Interrupted Reincarnation. I like the aesthetic of them all being friends rather than friends who become servants to the main character. We spend most of this chapter with Pin, and eventually get back to Thorn. Now Rudeus. I thought it would be funny to have Phillip try and name Raion Ares, and Raion just not letting it happen. Had Paul or Zenith tried to name Thorn a name similar to one of the old Gods then a similar situation would've occurred. Now that I think I know what I'm doing, I hope to see this story through to the end. I'll see you in the next chapter! Buh bye!
