Christmas had come and gone, and the year was about to draw to a close too. Emerald was relaxing in her bed.

"Oh, such a wonderful dinner!" she groaned with delight. "I can't even eat another bite let alone a chomp."

"She's gonna break the bed soon." feared Eugene.

Outside, Violet Gray was holding a bunch of envelopes.

"This'll be an exciting event." she said to herself. "I can't wait for everyone to come!"

Violet was approaching the Emmons place to deliver her invitation to Janice when Charlie Brown walked by.

"Hey, Violet." said Charlie Brown. "What are you doing?"

"Hey, Charlie Brown." said Violet. "Delivering some invitations."

"Thanks for the invitation, Violet!" Charlie Brown said.

"I didn't sent you an invitation!" said Violet.

Charlie Brown, figuring Violet didn't detect his sarcasm, walked off to think about any New Years Resolutions. Charlie Brown doubted Violet would send him an invitation, remembering how she'd deliberately not invite him to her parties when they were kids.

"You know I was being sarcastic, right?" asked Charlie Brown.

"Oh. I see." said Violet. "Of course I didn't send you an invitation."

And after this, Charlie Brown walked off.

"Yet." Violet smirked.

Violet arrived at the Swanson place, and much to her surprise, Patty Swanson came out.

"Hey, Violet!" Patty Swanson called. "So, whatcha doing?"

"I'm handing out some invitations, Patty." said Violet. "I'm throwing a New Year party."

"Who's coming?" asked Patty Swanson.

"Just some friends and acquaintances." said Violet. "You're invited already."

"Really? Thanks!" said Patty Swanson. "I'll definitely be there!"

"There'll be all kinds of fun and games." Violet said. "Maybe even hopscotch."

And the two gals high-fived each other.

"Well, back to the invitations." Violet said after she'd given one to Patty Swanson.

"You wouldn't mind if I helped you prepare the party, would you, Vi?" asked Patty Swanson.

"Not at all." said Violet. "After all, I want everyone to enjoy this end of year party."

As Charlie Brown came home later that day, he looked in the mailbox to find…

"Is that what I think it is?" Charlie Brown asked himself. "It is!"

Charlie Brown ran inside to find Sally, writing down a list.

"Big Brother. I know just what to do for this New Year's Eve! I'm gonna throw a party!"

"Not this year, you're not." said Charlie Brown. "Because Violet has invited us to her house for this New Year celebration!"

"You're not just pulling my leg, are you, Big Brother?" asked Sally.

"Not at all." said Charlie Brown. "It says here; Charlie, Sally and Wally Brown."

Charlie Brown showed the invitation to Sally, and…..

"You're right!" Sally said excitedly.

Sally then turned to Wally.

"Did you hear that, Little Brother?" Sally asked with excitement. "We're going to a New Year party!"

"New Yeaw?" Wally quizzed.

Violet had arrived at the Van Pelt place when Lucy came out.

"Hey, Violet." said Lucy. "Enjoy your Christmas?"

"I sure did." said Violet. "And I'm sure to enjoy my New Year party!"

"That's nice." said Lucy. "After all, my grandma came to my party, I got the city landscape I wanted…."

"Which reminds me…." Violet said. "This is for you."

Violet handed out a piece of paper to Lucy.

"An invitation to a New Year party! Thanks, Vi!" Lucy said.

"See you at the party!" said Violet as she left to deliver the rest of her invitations.

Violet soon came up to the Johnson place to deliver her invitation to Marcie. As she was about to do so, Marcie came out of her house to greet her.

"Oh. Hey, Violet." said Marcie.

"How was Christmas, Marcie?" asked Violet.

"It was fun." said Marcie. "Extended family came over, Peppermint Patty came over. She's having a big sleep after all that dinner we had."

"Anyway," Violet said. "I've got both of you an invitation. I was going to deliver it to her place, but seeing as she's here, I'm delivering two invitations."

"Wow!" said Marcie, grateful for the invitations. "Thanks, Violet."

"See you there!" said Marcie as Violet walked off.

Marcie went back inside, only to see that Peppermint Patty was still asleep.

"Sir? Sir! Sir!" Marcie called. "SIR!"

The last one had woken Peppermint Patty up.

"Five! No, Seven! Was I close?" asked Peppermint Patty as she woke up.

"We're still on Christmas vacation, Sir." said Marcie. "Though, Christmas had already passed. I got you an invitation."

"You're inviting me to something, Marcie?" quizzed Peppermint Patty.

"No, Sir." said Marcie. "Violet's inviting you. She's throwing a New Year party. Here, Sir."

Marcie handed Peppermint Patty her invitation, and as Peppermint Patty had finished…..

"Good. Don't need to wear anything formal." said Peppermint Patty. "Don't wanna risk wearing anything frilly. Wake me when it's New Year's Eve. Tell Vi I'l be there."

And with that, Peppermint Patty went back to sleep.

"Will do, Sir." said Marcie.

Violet's next stop was at Schroeder's place. As Violet had arrived, there was beautiful piano music playing.

"Schroeder must really love Beethoven that much if he's playing so beautifully." said Violet. "I might as well go in anyway."

That was what Violet did. She went inside Schroeder's place, and there was Schroeder, playing the piano, with Mary Stewart leaning from the other end.

"Mary?" quizzed Violet.

"Oh. Hey, Violet." said Mary. "What brings you here?"

"Just handing out some invitations." said Violet. "I was going to give one to you at your place, but instead, I'll give it to you here."

Violet got out both invitations and handed one to Schroeder, and the other to Mary.

"Thanks." said Mary. "I'll be there. Tell Heather I'm coming."

"I haven't invited Heather." said Violet. "Well, not yet anyway."

"I'll be there." said Schroeder.

"Great!" said Violet. "After all, my party could do with some music. Just as well Daddy got me a grand piano for Christmas."

Wonderful, Violet!" said Schroeder. "I just hope that Wayne guy won't be there."

"I'm afraid I'm going to invite him." said Violet. "Just so long as he doesn't say you-know-what between us."

"Hope he doesn't." Schroeder said, gritting his teeth.

"Anyway, I'd love to stay and listen to Beethoven," said Violet. "but I've got more invitations to deliver."

Violet arrived at Wayne King's house to deliver his invitation.

"Hey, Violet." said Wayne. "What are you delivering?"

"I'm delivering some invitations." said Violet. "Throwing a New Year party at my place."

"Got one for me?" asked Wayne.

"I sure do." said Violet. "And I'll give it to you on one condition."

"You name it, Vi." said Wayne.

"No saying Schroeder and I are a couple." Violet lamented. "Schroeder's got Mary, and I've got Shermy."

"Understood." said Wayne.

"Good." said Violet. "Here's your invitation."

Violet got out an invitation she had for Wayne and handed it to him.

"Thank you." said Wayne. "See you there."

Violet came to the Plepler place, ready to invite her one and only Shermy. She rang Shermy's doorbell, only for the one to answer to be….

"Jill?" Violet quizzed.

"Hi, Violet." said Jill, Shermy's little sister.

"Say, where's your brother?" asked Violet.

"He's going to get supplies for our New Year party." explained Jill.

"Tell him to send those supplies back." said Violet. "I'm throwing a party at my place."

"Oh. Okay." said Jill.

"Anyway, here is your invitation."

Violet got out the invitation, which was intended for both Shermy and his sister.

"Thanks." said Jill. "I'll tell my brother."

Violet arrived at the Wold place, and placed the invitation in the mailbox.

"Can't wait for Heather to come." said Violet. "Charlie Brown will be most delighted."

Next, Violet arrived at the Emmons place to invite Janice and her sisters.

"Janice is sure to enjoy my party." Violet said to herself.

Violet arrived at the Halverson places, sending invitations to Tommy and Katie the Little Pigtailed Girl.

"Tommy and Katie are sure to love my party."

Violet stopped over at the Riches' place, and was just about to place the invitation in the mailbox when Frieda came out.

"Oh. Hi, Violet." said Frieda. "Whatcha doin'?"

"I'm delivering invitations to my New Year party." said Violet.

"Did you give one to Tommy?" asked Frieda.

"I sure did." said Violet.

"Wow!" Frieda cried. "My Tommykins will be there?!"

"Yep." said Violet.

Jill spent her time waiting for Shermy to come back. Half an hour later, Shermy came home.

"Hey, Big Brother." said Jill. "Violet brought this for you."

"Violet sent me a letter?" asked Shermy.

Jill handed the invitation to Shermy, and….

"If she's throwing a New Year party, I'll be there!" Shermy said.

"So forget about decorating this place." said Jill. "Take them back to the store."

"I guess so." sighed Shermy.

But then Shermy quickly decided…..

"No! I'll take these supplies to Violet's place."

"Why?" asked Jill.

"Oh. You'll see, Jill." said Shermy. "You'll see."

Violet was making her way to Franklin's place when one invitation flew off of her pile. The invitation flew far away, and ended up in a camp out of nowhere. Someone was in the shadows, picking it up.

"A New Year Party?" said the voice. "We'll be there!"

At last, Violet had arrived at the Armstrong place, inviting Franklin.

"I'll be there." said Franklin.

Violet came to Pig-Pen's place.

"I'll be there." said Pig-Pen.

"Good." said Violet. "But for as long as you're at my place, keep your dust out of my sight."

Violet arrived at the Honfleur place to send Violette an invitation.

"You're invited to my New Year party, Violette." said Violet.

"Merci, ma Violet." said Violette.

Violet arrived at the De Barolet place.

"Merci, Violet." said Pierre.

Violet got to Floyd's place, then Roy's place, then Polly's place, then Mary Jo's place, then Five's place, then Lila's place, Harold Angel's place, and last but not least, Scarlet's place.

"There. That's the last one." said Violet.

Over at the Browns' place, Snoopy was preparing his own little New Year party with Woodstock and his other little bird friends. Woodstock chirped to Snoopy that he should invite his siblings.

"Mm hmm." said Snoopy as he started writing invitations.

When Snoopy had finished, he gave each one of his bird friends, who delivered the invitations to each and every one of his siblings.

Tammy, Woodstock's girlfriend, decided to fly over to Italy to meet Firdo. Firdo was a very skilled little bird. As Firdo was about to cook his pizza, he heard someone flying towards him.

Firdo was excited to see Tammy. Tammy told Firdo all about what Snoopy was throwing, and Firdo flew along with Tammy to meet Woodstock.

But by the time Firdo and Tammy flew back, Charlie Brown had come out of his house to tell Snoopy all about the change of plans.

"Sorry, Snoopy." said Charlie Brown. "Change of plans. Violet has invited us to her place. Hope it's as fun as she claims it is."

"Aw….." Snoopy sighed.

"But don't worry. Take these supplies over to Violet's, and make it a bigger party." Charlie Brown suggested.

"Yay!" cheered Snoopy.

As Tammy and Firdo came back, Snoopy told the change of plans, and that they were invited to Violet's. Next, Snoopy told the birds to go to Violet's place and take the supplies. Charlie Brown watch and sighed.

"Why can't Snoopy have normal friends like every other dog?"

All the Woodstocks had arrived at Violet's place.

"What the?!" cried Violet. "Oh, good grief! Birds at my place?"

Violet looked on at the birds, and noticed…..

"Ah. They're making my party even bigger." Violet realised.

Just as Violet had said this, she heard a ring of the doorbell.

"That had better not be Wayne." Violet said to herself.

As Violet answered the door….

"Shermy!" Violet cried.

"Hey, Violet." said Shermy. "Hope you don't mind…."

"Not at all." said Violet. "Say, what are those supplies?"

"These are streamers and confetti for my party. But I decided to bring them over instead, so you could have a bigger New Year party."

"Wow!" said Violet. "Thanks, Shermy. You are a gentleman!"

Violet took the supplies off of Shermy, and was ready to hang them up.

The day of New Year's Eve had arrived, and the Van Pelts were blowing up balloons. Lucy and Linus were blowing them up normally, while Rerun was blowing them up wrong. He got out a blue balloon, and blew it up into a cube.

"Rerun, you're blowing them up all wrong!" cried Lucy. "They're supposed to be round, not square! Watch me!"

Lucy picked out a yellow balloon and blew it up perfectly round.

"Now, you try."

Rerun got out a purple balloon, tried to blow it up round, only for it to end up looking like Violet.

"Well, it is Violet's party after all." sighed Lucy.

Linus had blown up a green balloon perfectly round.

"There. That's the last one." said Linus. "Now to take these to Violet's place."

That evening, Violet's party went full swing. Schroeder played the piano, Snoopy played his guitar, Franklin played the trumpet, Pig-Pen played his cello, and everyone danced with their partners.

Violet danced with Shermy, Floyd danced with Polly, Marcie danced with Peppermint Patty, Patty Swanson danced on her own, Pierre danced on his own, Frieda danced on her own. Mary Stewart danced on her own. Jill danced on her own.

"Hope Charles gets here soon, Sir." said Marcie.

"Where is Tommy?" wondered Frieda.

"Frieda's worried that Thomas may have forgotten about the party, Sir." Marcie said.

"They're probably running late." said Peppermint Patty.

"Why would they be late?" asked Violet. "It's only 8pm. Plenty of time before the New Year comes."

At last, Charlie Brown, Sally, Wally, Harold Angel, Angela, Linus, Janice, Britney, Lindsey, Lucy, Rerun, Katie, Tommy, Scarlet, Five, Three, Four, Lila, Wayne, Violette, Roy, and Mary Jo.

"Hold on." said Violet. "Someone's missing."

The last ones to make it were Heather, Fifi and Henry.

"Not late, are we?" asked Charlie Brown.

"Nope." said Violet. "You're all just in time! There's plenty of dancing here."

"Great!" said Heather. "I love dancing!"

"Me too!" said Janice.

"Well what are you waiting for?" asked Violet. "Let's dance!"

So all the kids got on the floor and danced some more. Tommy got to Frieda and danced with her, while Linus danced with Janice, Sally danced with Harold Angel, while Mary Stewart held Angela.

"It's already a fun party, isn't it, Violet?" asked Patty Swanson.

"It sure is, Patty." said Violet. "After all, what's a party without a bit of dancing?"

Soon, the music had stopped, causing everyone to stop.

"Huh? Why's the music stopped?" wondered Charlie Brown.

"Because," said Violet. "It's time for musical chairs!"

"Alright!" cheered Peppermint Patty. "I love musical chairs!"

So Violet, Shermy and Patty Swanson lined up nine chairs.

"Since there's like 30 of us," said Violet. "let's do it in groups of ten."

"Oh, there'll be no need to do that!" came a voice.

Up at the door, there were Rick, Boyd and Tubby, along with their cat Brutus.

"G…g… good grief!" exclaimed Charlie Brown.

"It's them!" cried Lucy.

"The very same bullies we met at Camp Remote!" exclaimed Linus.

"Since you invited us to your little party," smirked Rick.

"We're really gonna rock the party!" added Tubby.

"Brutus, are you with us?" asked Boyd.

Brutus looked up and nodded.

"Good!" said Rick. "We shall rule this party! Let this be a lesson to that bird for beating us in that rafting game!"

"Hey! You cheated in those games!" retorted Schroeder. "So it's only fair one of us won!"

Snoopy looked over and growled.

Frieda feared these bullies, and as did Katie.

"Come on." said Tommy. "I'll get you away from these guys. They sound mean."

Tommy brought Frieda and Katie upstairs to get them away from the chaos.

"Violet!" called Tommy. "You don't mind if we stayed in your room until the chaos is over, right?"

"Not at all." said Violet. "Knock yourself out, Tommy."

As Tommy, Katie and Frieda hid, Charlie Brown, Sally, Lucy, Peppermint Patty, Linus, Franklin, Pig-Pen, Schroeder, Janice and Heather got ready to play musical chairs, while Patty Swanson stood at the radio to turn on the music and off to let everyone on the chairs.

So as she did so, everyone ran around the chairs. When Patty Swanson turned off the music, Violet took away a chair, leaving Sally without one.

"Rats!" groaned Sally.

The music went back on, and as the others continued, Rick, Boyd and Tubby snuck up and snatched away three chairs, and after Patty Swanson turned off the music, Janice, Heather and Peppermint Patty were out. This went on and on until Charlie Brown and Marcie were the only ones left. Rick took one of the chairs, causing both Charlie Brown and Marcie to land on the floor.

"Alright, who swiped this chair?" called Charlie Brown.

"It was us!" smirked Rick.

"We took those chairs! So now we're the winners!" added Boyd.

And the three bullies laughed, and as did Brutus.

"Good grief! And I thought I was cruel." Violet said to herself.

The Camp Bullies got out all the chairs again and sent all the other guests out of the way.

"I'm getting you upstairs." Mary Stewart said to Angela.

"Now it's our turn to play!" laughed Rick.

"We rule this party!" added Boyd.

Tubby turned on the music, and the music played "Race For Your Life, Charlie Brown".

"Oh, good grief! That's our song at Camp Remote!" groaned Charlie Brown.

"Even I'm not this mean!" Lucy said in surprise.

"I've got to put a stop to this!" Violet said to herself.

Snoopy tried to snatch a chair, only for Brutus to intervene.

"Yipe!" Snoopy cried.

"If only I had my blanket." sighed Linus.

"At a time like this, I wish you did." feared Lucy.

"This is where we do need Emerald." said Violet.

"Emerald! Yes!" Scarlet suggested.

"I'll go to your house and get her!" said Violet.

Violet walked out of her house, put on her violet coat and made her way to the Greens' place. Violet knocked on the door, and who should answer it but Jasmine, Emerald's little sister.

"Jasmine. Is your sister home?" asked Violet.

"Yes." said Jasmine. "Emerald! Big Sister!"

"What is it?" groaned Emerald.

"Emerald! We need you at my house! Some bullies are there!" Violet demanded.

"Alright." groaned Emerald.

"Yes!" Jasmine said as Emerald left. "Some peace and quiet!"

As the bullies continued their chaos, Linus walked up, trying to snatch a a chair when Brutus intervened, threatening to scratch him.

"Oh, no you don't!" Linus shouted as he kicked Brutus.

"YEEEOOOOW!" shouted Brutus in Tom Cat's voice.

"Come on, Violet! Where are you?" worried Patty Swanson.

"Right here!" cried Violet. "And look who I brought!"

There, much to everyone's horror, was Emerald Green.

"Emerald Green!" they exclaimed.

"I think it's safe to come out." Tommy said to Frieda and Katie.

So Tommy, his girlfriend and his cousin got out of Violet's room, and noticed….

"Oh no! It's Emerald!" Tommy groaned.

"Fear not!" said Emerald. "I'm meaner than these kids will ever be!"

Emerald walked up to the camp bullies, and while they still played their musical chairs game, Emerald leaned her leg in front of Boyd, causing him to fall over, with Rick, and then Tubby to follow suit.

"Hey! Who did that?!" yelled Boyd.

"Get off me!" yelled Rick.

"This….. girl!" Tubby raged. "Get her!"

All three camp bullies got up and were ready to attack Emerald.

"Shouldn't you go and help, Tommy?" asked Violet.

"If I must." Tommy said reluctantly.

Tommy ran up to the bullies, who were just about to let Emerald have it.

"Alright, you three!" shouted Tommy. "Why don't you pick on someone your own size?"

"She is our size!" Tubby raged.

"Actually," said Violet. "Emerald's bigger than them."

"Well then!" said Tommy. "Why don't you pick on me?"

"Alright, we will!" laughed Rick.

Tommy ran for the door and got out, leaving it open. The three camp bullies got out, and Tommy ran back in and shut the door, locking them out.

"Hey!" shouted Rick. "He tricked us!"

Violet looked down at Brutus, and picked him up. She went back out the door, and threw him out.

"And don't come back!" Violet shouted.

"Brrr….." Rick shivered. "We'll show them! We'll be back before they can say Camp Remote!"

At last, it was five minutes until midnight. The doorbell rang, and Violet answered it.

"Ah, you must be Snoopy's siblings! Come on in!"

"Yay!"

Spike, Belle, Rex, Rover, Molly, Andy, Marbles and Olaf ran in to greet their famous brother.

"Yay!" Snoopy cheered. Then he noticed Rex, Belle's son.

"Hey!" said Rex.

Snoopy then hugged his nephew.

It was finally time for the final countdown of the year.

"Ten! Nine! Eight! Seven! Six! Five! Four! Three! Two! One! Happy New Year!"

As the clock struck 12, confetti, streamers and balloons fell down from the ceiling, and everyone at the party cheered.

"Should auld acquaintance be forgot and never brought to mind?

Should auld acquaintance be forgot and days of Auld Lang Syne?

And days of Auld Lang Syne, my dear! And days of Auld Lang Syne!

We'll take a cup of kindness yet, for sake of Auld Lang Syne!

One thing must never be forgot, Violet's party blew my mind!

One thing must never be forgot, it's the time for us to be kind!

Be kind for Auld Lang Syne, my dear! Be kind for Auld Lang Syne!

Violet's party really was a hit, for the days of Auld Lang Syne!"

There were all kinds of lovey dovey moments at Violet's after the balloons, streamers and confetti landed and fireworks outside went off.

"Happy New Year, Frieda!" said Tommy.

"Happy New Year, my Tommykins." said Frieda, as she wrapped her right hand around his shoulder, tickled his chin, and kissed his left cheek.

"Happy New Year, Linus!" said Janice.

"Happy New Year, Janice." smiled Linus, as Janice kissed him.

"Happy New Year, Charlie Brown!" said Heather.

"Happy New Year, Heather." Charlie Brown said back, as Heather hugged him, and then kissed his left cheek, thus causing Charlie Brown to blush.

"Happy New Year, Sweet Angel!" Sally said as she walked up to Harold Angel and kissed his left cheek.

"Happy New Year, Sweet Butterfly." blushed Harold Angel.

"Happy New Year, Pig-Pen!" smiled Patty Swanson as she kissed his forehead.

"Happy New Year, Pete!" Peppermint Patty cried as she kissed Pierre's nose.

"Happy New Year, Frankie!" said Marcie, kissing Franklin.

"Happy New Year, Lambcake!" Floyd cheered to Polly.

"Happy New Year, Floydikins!" Polly said as she touched his nose and kissed his left cheek.

"Good grief! I don't have anyone to love!" groaned Lucy. "It just isn't fair!"

"Happy New Year, Schroeder!" said Mary Stewart as she kissed his right cheek. The kiss caused Schroeder to blush bright red.

"Happy New Year, Mary." Schroeder said, blushing bright red.

Violet looked among the party goers, satisfied that her party went well enough. Then, Shermy walked up to her.

"Happy New Year, Violet." said Shermy.

"Happy New Year, Sherm!" said Violet.

And then, Violet kissed Shermy right on the mouth, which caused Shermy to blush red.

"You're cute when you blush like that." giggled Violet as she kissed Shermy again.

Unbeknownst to neither Violet nor Schroeder, Wayne King looked down at his feet sadly, not liking the fact neither Violet nor Schroeder had each other.

"Some day, somehow, they'll get together." Wayne said to himself.
