Happy New Year's Eve to all my readers! I am going to be bringing you 3 new Kallura's that I have written in the past 3-4 days to hopefully bring a little of joy. I confess, I have been using the prompts from 101 ways to say I love you. This is the first prompt 'You don't have to do this alone'. I hope you all enjoy and this one as well as the other two coming today and hope 2024 makes all your dreams come true.

Keith could see the pain in her eyes even as she hugged him and apologised. It was not just about the Galra – not as a race at least. There was something more to this – her hatred against the Galra felt personal and he wasn't one to push her so he just held her closer. He wasn't sure if this was right but he also could not push her away when she needed him. That and it oddly felt right – like he was the one meant to hold her. She went through so much alone – there was so much she kept inside but he could see. He had not before – but in that moment when they had both decided to run away together, he really had come to see her as a friend.

Friendship was complicated – let alone friendship with a girl. He didn't know much about his culture – but Shiro's culture had been similar yet different at the same time. Romantic relationships were not made before marriage nor friendships with those one might be attracted to.

"Princess?" Keith said softly. Allura pulled back to look at him.

"Yes?" Allura asked.

Keith shifted. "It's none of my business. But I feel like…you hating the Galra, is it because of Zarkon? Because he used to be the Paladin of the Black Lion?"

Her expression darkened and he wanted to take back the words he said at the look on her face. There was so much pain in her eyes in that moment that he wished he could do something – anything to take it from her. Hadn't she been through enough already?

Allura bit her lip. "I do not hate them. Seeing you makes me believe there is truth in your words, that perhaps there are others who are not like Zarkon. But sometimes, it's hard to forget that the ones you trust can hurt you the most." She averted her gaze. "I apologise, Keith but I do not believe I can elaborate further on that."

Keith shook his head. "You don't have to. I'll come back, I promise. And Princess?" He shyly reached out, lifting her chin.

"Yes?" Allura said just as softly.

"You don't have to do this alone," Keith said softly. "I…I mean we're all here with you." He cleared his throat, not sure why he had almost said I but that wasn't important. The way her expression lit up a little and a small smile filled her face was all that really mattered.

"Thank you, Keith."
