Kuroyanagi Kimitsuki has always held Heroes in great regard, and has always believed she would never become a worthy one herself - not with her villainous and mutated Quirk, not with her past as the girl who murdered her own family, not as the 'Family-Killer Kimitsuki'. And thus, she finds herself continuously chasing after her childhood friends Bakugo Katsuki and Midoriya Izuku as they chase their own , what happens when Kimitsuki's world is spun around with the arrival of All Might in their little town, her Quirkless friend gaining his own destiny and she is suddenly thrust into the spotlight? [Updated every Thursday] [I only own my own character(s), everything else belongs to their respective owners]
? Prologue ?
There were a lot of things that the five-year-old Kuroyanagi Kimitsuki didn't understand. She wasn't sure, for one, why she had to be the reason behind her family's passing. All around her, everyone kept telling her that things were going to be alright, and that she was okay. But none of those words reached their eyes nor did they reach her heart. She wasn't sure how those empty consoles were going to fix the strange hurt she was feeling in her heart. And she wasn't sure when she would see her family.

They had taken her away from the unmoving bodies of her family and off to a new place. There had been a lot of questions, and there had been a funeral. Kimitsuki wasn't sure why she was so pitiful.

Everyone, everyone who used to look at her with such adoration were suddenly staring at her with strange uncertainties in their eyes. Kimitsuki wasn't sure what they were trying to tell her.

But something also told Kimitsuki that a lot of the times, it was better not to know what the other person was thinking of saying or doing. She had learned that the hard way, no matter what.

There were many things that had happened in the past few months, and Kimitsuki had started to live in a strange place called the Orphanage with so many other children. They had been nice to her before they found out who she was. They weren't rude to her now, but they no longer talked to her.

It was strange, and the elders at the Orphanage told her that they'll be sending her to a nice school. It didn't take her long to realise that her school wasn't the same as her fellow orphans.

No one wanted to be around her.

Kimitsuki was uncertain as she kept her head down, holding tightly on the blue shirt with a white flower that she was wearing over her skirt – something she shared with everyone in the elementary school. She was also provided with a bright yellow cap to wear whenever she went out so she could be seen easily by the traffic. Kimitsuki wished that she could leave this place quickly.

But then, the teacher who had introduced herself to Kimitsuki earlier as Minami Sensei came back out of the room and gave her a small smile, motioning her to come over with her. She hesitated.

"Come on, Kimitsuki-Chan," Minami said and held out her hand to the young girl. Kimitsuki shook her head and took a step forward, showing that she would rather walk on her own.

Minami led the white-haired girl into the room and Kimitsuki's eyes widened when she saw up to forty different children sitting at nine different circular tables, all of them staring right back at her. Kimitsuki quickly looked away down at the ground in front of her, wishing she had taken the hand.

"Everyone, this is our new classmate Kimitsuki-Chan," Minami said. Kimitsuki noted that she didn't say her last name out. "Be nice to her, okay? Kimitsuki-Chan, you can go sit on that table, okay?"

Kimitsuki looked back up and saw that Minami was pointing to a table with four boys. The only seat open was in the middle of a blond boy who was staring at her while on the edge of his seat and a green-haired boy who was staring at her in curiosity. Both of them had their mouth parted open.

"Y-Yes..." Kimitsuki said quietly to Minami, causing all of the children there to snap out of their daze as they stared at the new girl. They all blushed and looked away from her.

But Kimitsuki was already making her way to the table, curling her hands into fists.

When she was a bit younger, Kimitsuki's mother always told her to imagine that the scary new people in front of her were something that she liked. Right now, Kimitsuki tried to imagine the boys as flowers as she walked toward them. And as she approached the table, the green flower moved.

"Nice to meet you Kimitsuki-Chan!" the green flower introduced himself, turning slightly red. "My name is Midoriya Izuku! You can sit with me!" He motioned to the seat next to him.

"You mean us both!" the yellow flower yelled, causing both Kimitsuki and Izuku to flinch slightly – albeit for different reasons. "You! My name is Bakugo Katsuki! You better remember it!"

"Ka-Chan, you're scaring her," Izuku said uncertainly, looking away when Katsuki glared at him in annoyance. "K-Kimitsuki-Chan, I-I think you're very c-cute,"

"You mean us both!" Katsuki said loudly again, shooting another look full of annoyance in Izuku's direction. Izuku averted his eyes further away.

Kimitsuki, who had barely sat down in the chair between the two, looked at the two flowers in uncertainty as the illusion dissolved away to reveal their real faces. She was shy that they called her pretty, she had always liked that. But she wasn't sure what to do.

"Thank you," Kimitsuki mumbled, passing Izuku a smile. Before she could give one to Katsuki, another boy on their table burst out with the question he had been holding back –

"You look familiar, you know!"

This pushed Kimitsuki down back into her shell as she avoided looking at any of them. She didn't want to tell them her full name. She knew they would recognise her and she didn't... she didn't...

Each and every single one of the children around her were interested in seeing who their new pretty and soft-spoken classmate was, and it didn't take them until the end of the day to figure out who Kimitsuki really was. There was an immediate change in their demeanour, and she earned her first nickname –

"Family-Killer Kimitsuki!"

Summer Holidays:

"Isn't he amazing, Tsuki-Chan?" Izuku said in awe as he looked at Kimitsuki, whose lilac eyes were trained on the T.V that was playing a video of All Might. "You really like him, too, don't you, Tsuki-Chan?" He and Kimitsuki were pressed against the window of the local electronics shop.

"He's amazing..." Kimitsuki breathed, staring at the way All Might posed. She turned to look at Izuku. "I don't have a computer... I wish I could see him all day long..."

"Oka-San says your eyes get bad from seeing the computer all day," Izuku told her knowledgeably. "You can't hurt your eyes, Tsuki-Chan! You won't be able to use your Quirk properly with glasses!"

At these words, Kimitsuki fell silent and looked back at All Might as he helped people out of the rubble. She wasn't sure if she wanted her to Quirk to remain. Her Quirk wasn't the kind that a Hero would have. It was scary and dangerous... and just not what Kimitsuki imagined a Hero having.

Besides, a person who killed her family cannot be a hero.

It was in the early days of kindergarten when the two of them had been ostracised – Izuku for being the only Quirkless child in their class, and Kimitsuki to be the only kid who had such a villainous Quirk, proven with the death of her family.

"Izu-Chan," Kimitsuki mumbled, turning her head to look back at Izuku, who was looking at her rather happily. She wavered slightly. "Do you think that we will ever –"

"There they are!"

Both Kimitsuki and Izuku turned around to see that it was Katsuki who had called them out, a look that was smug but with undertones of anger etched on his face. With him were his friends – all of them holding onto their sand buckets and balls to play in the local playground that summer afternoon. Kimitsuki and Izuku had been on their way to there to play with them, too.

"I thought I told you idiots that we're not going to wait for you guys anymore," Katsuki said to them, glaring at them. "I'm doing enough by allowing you to come play with us,"

"Come on, Izu-Chan," Kimitsuki said to her friend and Izuku nodded at her with a smile before the two of them started off after Katsuki, who rolled his eyes at them.

The five of them arrived at the playground and started to go around playing with their stuff. Kimitsuki set down the old purple-coloured sand bucket onto the ground. It had previously belonged to someone else in the Orphanage before it was passed onto her. She had scratched off the name of the previous owner and written her name onto it. She reached out and picked up her purple ball.

Kimitsuku turned around to look at Izuku and saw him with his own green ball. Katsuki walked over with his orange one but his friends kept some distance between them due to Kimitsuki's presence.

"Wow, you're amazing at this!" Izuku praised as he and Kimitsuki watched Katsuki play with the ball, managing to juggle it on his elbow and legs. "Isn't he, Tsuki-Chan?"

"This is nothing!" Katsuki said when Kimitsuki took too long to reply. He was embarrassed and annoyed, putting a stop to his juggling. "Why don't you try it?"

"I'm gonna!" Izuku exclaimed and Kimitsuki moved back to give him space. He tried to juggle the ball on his knee like Katsuki but the ball bounced off and away from them.

"There's nothing you can do right, can you?" Katsuki said snidely, laughter at Izuku's pitifulness bubbling underneath. "You really are special!"

"That's not nice, Ka-Chan," Kimitsuki said, frowning as she looked at him. "You shouldn't say such things to anyone," She looked at Izuku. "You'll learn it once you practise it!"

"Kimi-Chan, you don't possible believe that he'll learn, do you?" Katsuki interjected to the white-haired girl. "He hasn't even learned how to write his name properly!"

"What are you talking about...?" Kimitsuki asked, confused.

"Look at this," Katsuki said as he picked up Izuku's sand bucket. "He wrote the last part of his name as 'Deku'!" Kimitsuki looked at it and saw that Izuku really had made a mistake in the Kanji.

"But that is okay, isn't it?" Kimitsuki insisted quietly when all the boys laughed at Izuku. "It really is hard to write in Kanji... I struggle with it, too..." But the boys kept laughing and she frowned.

"You can read that?" one of his friends asked Katsuki, and even Izuku was impressed.

"Well, of course, I can!" Katsuki said. "Deku – that must be what you a helpless loser!" He smirked at Izuku, whose smile fell immediately. "Completely useless!"

"That's mean, Ka-Chan," Kimitsuki said again, moving in front of Izuku as she stared at them, her eyebrows knitted together, and the other boys quickly moved away from her.

"What you did was mean, too, wasn't it?" one of them braved out.

Kimitsuki froze, knowing that it was only one thing that was being insinuated. It had been a while since someone called her out over it again. Her lower lip quivered slightly as Izuku and Katsuki turned to look at the boy at her reaction. But Kimitsuki was done, she snatched her bucket from the ground and started to run off from there, her long white hair fluttering behind her as she wiped her tears. She didn't want to play with them again. She didn't want to look at them ever again.

First Day Back at First Grade:

Kimitsuki walked with her head down until her long white hair covered her face, and her hands stuffed in the pockets of her shorts as she made her way to the building where her classroom was located. She hadn't played again with the boys for the remaining week of summer holidays. She did not want any one of them to tease her or to see her tears.

Making sure her beat-up silver-coloured trumpet, the one she salvaged from a junkyard, was strapped to her back properly, Kimitsuki had barely looked up when she ran into someone –

"Hey, watch where you're going, kid!"

Groaning and grabbing her head, Kimitsuki looked up to see that she had run into two seniors. Momentarily, the boys were dazed by the girl on the ground, staring at her long silvery white hair and lilac eyes. But then, they snapped out of their illusion when they realised who exactly she was.

"It's that Family-Killer Kimitsuki!"

"N-No, I'm not!" Kimitsuki whispered loudly as she scrambled to get onto her feet, almost tripping and falling from the weight of the trumpet on her back. "D-Don't call me that!"

"You ran into us first and now you're the one who is getting all angry about it?" one of the boys said, though his friend wanted to get out of there before Kimitsuki did something to them.

"I'm sorry," Kimitsuki apologised quickly, feeling flustered. She felt dumb that she had no way to defend herself against such accusations – because she really had killed her family. "I'm sorry,"

"Hey, what are you doing?!"

Kimitsuki and the two fourth grades turned around to see Katsuki stalking over to where the three of them were. He looked between them, noticing that Kimitsuki's large lilac were teary and the boys in front of her clearly seemed to be the ones at fault. He turned to look at them angrily, raising his fist.

"Which one of you did that to her?" Katsuki demanded, pointing to her watery eyes as Kimitsuki quickly wiped at them, embarrassed. "How dare you pick on her?"

"Why are you blaming us for this?" the boy responded. "She's the one who was walking with her head down and bumped into us!"

"If her head was down, you two were looking up, weren't you?" Katsuki retorted. "Why couldn't you step around her when she was walking? If you wanna fight, come at me!"

Katsuki smacked his fist against his palm, making sparks fly in the size of small explosions. Kimitsuki stared at him in surprise as he managed to scare the two fourth-graders off from there. He turned to look at the wide-eyed female and smirked, satisfied with the showcase in front of her.

"You should look up when you walk," Katsuki told her. "What if I'm not there to save you?" Kimitsuki opened her mouth. "Who am I kidding? I'm going to be the most powerful Hero who saves everyone!"

"My hair... got in the way..." Kimitsuki muttered, pushing away her long white hair as she looked away from the boy. "But..." She looked up when Katsuki held something in front of her face.

It was a plain white ribbon.

"Use it to tie your hair back," Katsuki ordered her, rather than simply offering it. Kimitsuki didn't want to go against him and took it from him. "You should stop letting people make you feel bad,"

"Why do you carry a ribbon with you?" Kimitsuki asked him, and noticed the blush erupt on his cheeks. "Sorry..." She blushed, too and tried to smile at him. "Ka-Chan... Thank –"

"You fought against two big fourth graders and won!"

It was Katsuki's two friends, Tsubasa and another that Kimitsuki didn't know the name of – he had always been too scared to talk to her and thus never shared his name with her. They had both come running out to praise the ash-blond male once the seniors had run off from there. Katsuki grinned.

"The most amazing hero always wins and comes up on top, no matter what!" Katsuki replied. He turned to look at Kimitsuki again and stopped when he saw the frown on her face again.

"You got hurt, Ka-Chan," Kimitsuki said, noticing the bruises that were forming and feeling flustered that she had caused him to come rescue her. "I'm sorry..."

Katsuki didn't want to hear that from her. He had expected to smile and hug him in gratitude.

Kimitsuki reached to touch his injuries and Katsuki held his breath as he saw her small, pale hand heading for his face but – the bell indicating the beginning of their class rang and Kimitsuki jumped, turning around to remember that they had to hurry to their classrooms before their teacher came.

"We've got to go now," Kimitsuki said as she looked at the three boys. "See you in the classroom..." She rushed off from there, using the ribbon that Katsuki had given her to tie her hair back.

Katsuki stared after her fluttering silvery white hair.

Later that Day:

Kimitsuki was in a good mood as she made her way back to the Orphanage that evening, having discovered a lot of interesting electronics in the junkyard to tinker with. She had kept her hair tied back and suddenly found herself a bit shy now that people could see more of her face. But it was a nice change anyhow.

While walking down the footpath next to the local playground, Kimitsuki noticed something going on in there. She stopped and focused on her eyes, realising that it was Katsuki and his friends beating up Izuku. She frowned, rushing toward them, but by the time she reached them, they had finished.

"Izu-Chan!" Kimitsuki called out gently as she reached his beaten-up body, before looking at Katsuki and his friends, who were walking off from there, oblivious to them.

"I'm sorry, he was trying to stand up for me..." a boy said as he rubbed the back of his head, looking at the boy on the ground. Kimitsuki's frown deepened. "... but he got beaten up in response,"

"Why did Ka-Chan beat him...?" Kimitsuki asked to herself. Izuku had been so happy that day because he and Kimitsuki had worked in the woodwork shop together and now...

Finally, Kimitsuki stood up and moved her backpack to the front of her body so she could pull her knocked-out best friend onto her back, grabbing his legs as she started off out of the playground. Izuku's head was hanging on her shoulder and Kimitsuki felt herself start to get all emotional again.

Truthfully, Kimitsuki hated crying all the time, but she was suddenly feeling horrible. She had been so genuinely impressed by what Katsuki had done earlier but now her illusion had been shattered.

Kimitsuki wasn't sure what to make of this. Why were her two childhood friends always fighting?

And how far is this going to go?

Appearance:

Kimitsuki is a tall, fair-skinned girl with soft facial features. She has straight, calf-length white hair, and large lilac eyes. She has a small beauty mark under her right eye. She has a slender yet athletic figure. She also is rather busty – to the point of them giving her back pains from the weight.

Most of the time, Kimitsuki has hair tied up in a long ponytail with the help of a white ribbon, styled as a bow and resembling cat ears. She keeps her long bangs and such framing her face at all times – only putting them back when concentrating. She also has sharp canine teeth, just like a feline. She wears light lilac-coloured eye shadow sometimes.

When using her Quirk, Kimitsuki's lilac eyes turn dark purple and she adopts three tomoe symbols in a circle in the iris. Her also glow, especially in the dark, when it is activated. When she is angered, Kimitsuki's eyes are known to flash a dark purple aura.

Kimitsuki is usually supporting a gentle smile on her face.

Personality:

Kimitsuki is a quiet and peace-loving young girl, who believes in love being the ultimate key to peace. She has strong morals and is always willing to help others whenever she finds them in any trouble – serious or otherwise, though she hates to be heroic just for the sake of being called heroic. She is always up for a good laugh with others. She is also very soft-spoken.

On the other hand, Kimitsuki is rather analytic, quick-thinking and an instinctive person. She believes a lot in her eyes at times and can become clouded in her judgement. She also gets twitchy hands and can be meddlesome when helping out.

Being extremely shy around people, Kimitsuki can appear to be cold or strange but she always tries to be cordial when meeting new people. She can also be overly trusting of people at times, but has the ability to be hostile when her friends are in danger.

But Kimitsuki is always willing to accept her mistakes and shortcomings, and work harder to fix them. She has a habit of being a perfectionist which causes her a lot of strain in her daily life.

Not to mention, Kimitsuki can also be easily swayed by cute things, and she has a huge fear of killing people.

When Kimitsuki's Quirk first manifested, she unexpectedly ended the lives of her parents and older brother, earning her the name of 'Family-Killer'. She has always held a deep guilt and sadness over this since her childhood and still struggles with depression and fear of misusing her Quirk again.

Kimitsuki looks up to All Might and wants to be a hero that smiles and assures those around her.

Background:

Kimitsuki was born as the first child, and only daughter, to parents Kuroyanagi Katsuhito and Tsukichiyo. She had a younger brother named Kimihiro. Her family, the Kuroyanagi, were famous in Japan for their pitch-black flames that burned continuously until they completely engulfed the victim.

Her mother, on the other hand, came from a military family named Mushanokouji – that still exists throughout the Japan today, working in protection services to the elite. They are known for their primarily Voice Quirk, among others, that has the ability to put others under illusions.

Rather than inheriting any one of her parents' Quirks, Kimitsuki suffered through Quirk mutation and was born with Genjutsu and Fire-making abilities. Unlike her mother, she cannot use her voice to put people under a trance and unlike her father, she cannot use the black flames as extensively.

When Kimitsuki's Quirk manifested at the age of four, she accidently tormented her parents to death. To this day, the police are not sure what really happened in the Kuroyanagi Household that night.

Following her family's death, Kimitsuki was sent to a local orphanage where she lived until her preteens before she was cast away. She lived on the streets for a period of time before she was taken in by an elderly landlady in a local slum area, practically 'adopted' in order to scare tenants in paying on times and also to keep thieves away from the building. She currently lives alone in the basement apartment in the same building, adjacent to the landlady.

Powers & Abilities:

Quirk Identification: Kimitsuki can use her eyes to see and figure out the Quirk of the opponent with her eyes, which helps her figure out what to do in response. She, however, cannot identify Quirks formed out of mutations or when there is a cluster of Quirks.

Clarity of Perception: Kimitsuki can read lips or mimic something like pencil movements. In combat, this allows her to see fast-moving objects. This gives her some amount of predictive capabilities: she can anticipate an opponent's next move based on the slightest muscle tension in their body and act accordingly to dodge or intercept. Although she can see these things, she also needs the physical ability to actually act on the visual information.

Soul Searching: Kimitsuki can, via eye contact, enter the target's mind to look through their memories. Feeling and seeing others' experience has an impact on her brain and also renders her Quirk useless for a long period of time. Depending on what she sees or for how long, she may faint.

Copying: Kimitsuki can memorise any physical movement and then utilise it with near-perfect accuracy. But she is unable to use it on Quirks of any kind.

Genjutsu: Kimitsuki can put her opponents under an illusion – able to suggest thoughts or actions, coerce them to divulge information or force them to act how she wants them to. This can only be used with eye-contact and used for up to ten minutes only.

Illusionary Control: Kimitsuki, in some extreme cases, can take complete control of the target's body, forcing them to do exactly as she wishes; this control is visually indicated by the tomoe design appearing in the target's eye. Any person with exceptional willpower is able to evade this completely and she has to force a person to do as she wants, rather than simply asking them.

Mass Illusionary Control: Kimitsuki can take multiple targets under control in this manner. But the more divided the her attention is, the easier it is for targets to escape her control.

Prediction: Kimitsuki can appear as if she is able to 'see the future' when uses her careful observation to perfectly mimic every move her opponent makes and possibly their thoughts and words. Using too much of this can overstress her brain and body as she tries to keep up with the reaction time.

Black Flames: Kimitsuki can produce black flames from her hands. However, she cannot mould them and her body heats up quickly when using this ability.

Shield: Kimitsuki can create a defensive skeleton-like armour around her body that is purple in colour as means of defense against others. It is too painful for her to bear at current stage.

Equipment:

Sword: Kimitsuki wields a samurai sword with her before she learned how to control her Susanoo, but still prefers the sword to the move. She is extremely proficient at using it with great speed. She keeps it strapped to her waist when wearing her costume.

Eye drops: Kimitsuki carries a small purple case of eye drops with her at all times. She uses them to treat the dry eye caused by her Quirk.

Weaknesses:

Vision Obstruction: Kimitsuki cannot use her eyes properly when she is wearing glasses or sunglasses. If she is blindfolded, she is unable to use it at all.

Blinking: Kimitsuki's Quirk diminishes for the second that she blinks and she is unable to use it if her line of sight is obstructed.

Dry Eyes: Kimitsuki's gets bad dry eyes from the constant use of her eyes.

Heating-up: Kimitsuki's body gets extremely warm when using her flames and she needs to physically cool herself down or rest to get back to normal.

Draining: Kimitsuki cannot use too much of her Qurk without it taking a toll on her body and exhausting her. She can only recover this by resting.

Overwhelming: Kimitsuki can overstress her body from trying to keep up with the increased reaction time.

Physical Pain: Kimitsuki, when using her shield, feels intense pain in every cell of her body, which only increases over time of usage as well as at higher developmental stages.

Consciousness: Kimitsuki cannot use her illusionary Quirk on anyone or anything that does not have a conscious, such as robots or mud creatures.

Trivia:

Kimitsuki's first name has the Kanji for 'Kimi' (君), an ancient Japanese title of nobility and for 'Tsuki' (月) meaning 'moon' while her surname means 'Black Willow'.

Her surname is a nod to her paternal family's black hair and black flames. She was named by her mother, for her silvery white hair resembled the moon.

Kimitsuki's favourite food is anything that is cold, and especially if it is also sweet. Otherwise, she does not particularly dislike any food (as long as it suits the weather).

Kimitsuki likes to go on long walks in the mountains and around natural, bonus points if there is no one else around. She loves to spend time in solitude.

Kimitsuki has a decent phone, one of the first things she bought when she got her first pay, but is pretty outdated now. It is mauve in colour.

Kimitsuki, in appearance, does not resemble her late family – except for sharing lilac eyes with her father. Unlike her, all of her family had dark hair.

Kimitsuki enjoys spending her free time tinkering around with electronics, getting out stuff from garbage dumps or landfills to salvage something out of them.

Kimitsuki loves to play wind instruments and traditional string instruments, and she also enjoys singing – having inherited her mother's soft, sweet voice.

Quirk inspired by Sharingan.
Face-claim: Kaede Higuchi.
? Chapter 1 ?
Kimitsuki followed Izuku as the two of them made their way down the footpath to the Aldera Junior High where both of them were currently enrolled as third-year students. While Izuku was looking down at his phone, Kimitsuki was more captivated by the blooming cherry blossoms that brought about the spring after a rather cold winter.

Both of them had grown up considerably since their elementary days, and Kimitsuki now stood taller than Izuku. But that wasn't the only place where she had developed. She had really matured.

People around them turned to look at Kimitsuki often, and it wasn't only for her past identity.

With her white hair longer than ever down to her calves, with her bright and large lilac, with her pretty smile, with her... Kimitsuki sighed as she felt the pain in her back. She wanted to cross her arms beneath her chest but decided against it, since it was something that flustered Izuku.

Since it was beginning of their third year, spring was here to great them and Kimitsuki reached up with her right hand to allow the passing orange butterfly to sit on the tip of her long finger. She smiled –

"Tsuki-Chan, there's a fight going by Tatooin Station, let's go see it!" Izuku exclaimed, grabbing her hand and jerking her along down the footpath, causing the butterfly to fly off and Kimitsuki sighed.

"We're going to be late, Izu-Chan," Kimitsuki said gently but didn't pull away from his hand, allowing him to take her along. She could feel tremors of a battle going on in the next street over.

There was a crowd gathered there, and Kimitsuki found herself following Izuku through it until they came to the other end, right to the front seat view for the ongoing fight. Policemen were already gathered to keep the civilians away from the villain and Pro-Heroes had arrived on the scene, too.

"Backdraft is here, too!" Izuku exclaimed, pointing out the Hero that was keeping all the citizens away at a safe distance. "Wow! Hey, Tsuki-Chan, can you see the villains' Quirk?"

"I think it is very obvious," Kimitsuki said but switched on her Quirk anyway, her eyes darkening in colour and three tomoe spiralling out in the irises. She looked at the villain. "It's Gigantification, with a hint of monster-fy,"

"Oh, it's Death Arms! He carries out justice through his great physical strength –

The Punching Hero!"

Death Arms had come to assist Backdraft, who was holding people back with water. The Punching Hero keep the falling debris from hurting the people who were standing by the train bridge. Kimitsuki was rather impressed by this. She wished she had such a supportive Quirk used for protection of civilians.

"But man, turning into a monster's an amazing Quirk," a man standing nearby said to his friend. "What did he do?"

"He stole someone's bag and went out of control when he was cornered," his friend replied.

"A Quirk like that, and he's a bag snatcher?" the first man said, shaking his head.

"Come on, Tsuki-Chan, let's go further ahead," Izuku breathed as he pulled her along and the two of them started further into the crowd to have a look. Kimitsuki switched off her Quirk.

"I'm sorry, the train's..." another man was apologising on the phone, most likely talking to his boss. "Yes, I don't know what time I will make it into work..."

"You can do it, Kamui!"

At the screams and cheers of several fangirls, Kimitsuki also looked up to see that Kamui Woods had arrived on the scene and was now fighting against the villain. Kimitsuki knew he would be able to restrain the giant criminal rather quickly. She could say she was a bit of a fan of his, too, in a way.

"Who's fighting?" Izuku asked excited as they reached the front. "Kamui Woods! The young and talented rising star!" Kimitsuki was amused as she looked ahead.

"You were the one asking, but you gave a perfect commentary, kid," the man standing nearby said. "You're a fanboy, aren't you?"

"Uh, well..." Izuku said, shy as he looked away.

Kimitsuki smiled lightly at his reaction as she looked up at the fight going on in front of them. She crossed her arms beneath her chest, wondering if she would ever become such a useful Hero. She wasn't sure if she wanted to be a Hero with her Quirk and her background. But Izuku had insisted that she applied to all the Hero Schools and prove to them all that she wasn't some Villain.

But quite honestly, Kimitsuki didn't want to be Hero or a Villain. She wanted to live the life of a civilian. Go to a non-Hero school, study music or fashion designing in universities and work behind the scenes in good companies. She wasn't the kind of person who would do well on the T.V.

Still, on Izuku's suggestion, Kimitsuki had been thinking of applying to U. A. but she had also selected off other courses, knowing that she wasn't worth being a Hero, and her Quirk was pretty useless.

"Illegal use of powers during rush hour and robbery resulting in bodily injury," Kamui Woods said to the villain. "You are the incarnation of evil,"

Incarnation of Evil...

Kimitsuki had heard those words directed toward her, too. She had been called all sorts of things throughout her life – Family-Killer Kimitsuki, Incarnation of Evil, Kuroyanagi Monster, Demon.

And most recently, Angel of Death.

Having worked hard on a music piece for her classmates at the end of their second year, Kimitsuki had played the trumpet for them and even sang a bit, something that took a lot of courage.

Although they had all been very impressed by her performance, Kimitsuki was shocked to see that they changed the entire thing around and started to call her the Angel of Death who played the trumpet, joking around if she was going to bring the Judgement Day upon them. That had been it.

Now, Kimitsuki hated performing in front of people and she resigned from all the music clubs.

"Oh, here it comes!" Izuku shouted as Kamui Woods readied his next ultimate move against the villain. Kimitsuki snapped out of her thoughts.

"Show us something flashy, Tree-Man!" the man next to them shouted, too.

"Pre-emptive..." Izuku said.

"...Binding..." Kamui Woods continued as he raised his arm to extend out his branch-like move. "... Lacquered Chain Prison!" Kimitsuki anticipated him capturing the villain –

"Canyon Cannon!"

Kimitsuki, Izuku and the man next to them all stared in surprise as a gigantic woman came out of nowhere, smashing her foot onto the villain's face and taking him down. It felt like they were standing upon the epicentre of an earthquake, and Kimitsuki grabbed Izuku to keep them straight.

"Here it is, here it is, here it is, here it is,"

"That was pretty surprising," Kimitsuki said quietly, looking at the photographers taking pictures of the giant lady. "I don't think I have to tell about her Quirk, Izu-Chan..."

"Today is the day of my debut!" the lady introduced to the people and media. "My name is Mt. Lady. A pleasure to make your ass-quaintance," She showed off her backside.

"Here it is, here it is, here it is, here it is,"

"Sh-She's getting the credit..." Kamui Woods said, who was left hanging with his ultimate move. Kimitsuki shook her head and looked at Izuku.

"They've got the villain, I think we should go to school now," Kimitsuki said as Izuku pulled out his notebook. She glanced at it. "It's gigantification, again,"

"Gigantification, huh?" Izuku muttered, noting it down. "She looks like she'll be popular, and it's an amazing Quirk, but thinking about the damage to the city that'll go hand in hand with that, its use might be limited? No, but whether or not she can control the size..."

"Hey wait, you two are taking notes?" the man asked them. "You wanna be a hero? That's great! You can do it!" He gave them a thumbs-up.

"Yes!" Izuku exclaimed, and Kimitsuki only nodded with a polite smile. "I'll do my best!"

Aldera Junior High:

"Good morning, Sensei," Kimitsuki greeted their homeroom teacher with a ninety-degree bow before she walked over to her seat, which was in front of Izuku and on the right to Katsuki, who was already in his own seat, his legs on his desk.

"As the Class President, you should be here first in the morning," the homeroom Sensei said to the white-haired girl. "It's your first day back so I'll let it slide this time," Kimitsuki nodded apologetically as she set her bag down.

"I won't do it again," Kimitsuki apologised, bowing her head and causing Katsuki to roll his eyes. "I was intercepted by a villain on the way, we had to wait until he was restrained properly,"

"Did the villain take a look at you and run away, Family-Killer?"

"I don't know how or why she even became our Class President in the first place,
but it sure gets us ready for a possible tyrannical rule,"

Kimitsuki didn't reply to any of their comments as she sat down on her desk, sighing when she saw the nickname Family-Killer Kimitsuki already scratched on top of her table. It was so unoriginal now.

"Kuroyanagi became your Class President because she's topping the entire district," the homeroom Sensei silenced them. "Anyway, since you're all third years, it's time for you to think seriously about your future. I'll pass out handouts for your future plans now, but..." He put down the stack of papers. "...you're all..." He looked at them. "... pretty much planning to go into the hero course, right?"

"Yes!"

Everyone in the class but Kimitsuki, Izuku and Katsuki were showing off their Quirks. Izuku didn't have anything to show, Kimitsuki didn't like showing hers, and Katsuki was a man of his own mind.

"Hey, Killer, you've got your hand up, too?" one of the girls asked snidely and Kimitsuki shook her head. "Maybe you can apply for a Villain School with that Quirk! You'll get a lot of business!"

Kimitsuki remained silent, looking ahead at the teacher.

"Yes, yes, you all have wonderful Quirks!" the Sensei told them. Kimitsuki looked around at the class with her eyes. "But using your powers at school is against the rules!"

"Teach!" Katsuki said loudly, and Kimitsuki glanced to her left and shook her head slightly. "Don't lump us all in the same group. I'm not gonna be stuck at the bottom with the rest of these rejects!"

"That was uncalled for, Katsuki!"

"Yeah, yeah!"

"You all should shut up like the extras you are!" Katsuki shouted back at them, catching sight of Kimitsuki, who looked away with a frown, staring down at her hands.

"Oh, if I remember correctly, you want to go to U. A. High, right, Bakugo?" the Sensei said as he looked down at his clipboard. Kimitsuki didn't know he had applied there, too.

"U. A.? That national school?!"

"It was in the top 0.2% this year, you know!"

"Their acceptance rate's always really low, too!"

"That's exactly why you guys are just extras!" Katsuki gloated, jumping onto his desk. "I aced the mock test! I'm the only one at this school who could possibly get into U. A. I'll definitely surpass All Might and become the top hero! My name will be inscribed on the list of top earners!"

It was this that made Kimitsuki unsure about becoming a Pro-Hero. She didn't quite understand why so many students only wanted to be the Number 1 Hero for the money and popularity.

"Oh yeah, Kuroyanagi and Midoriya wanted to go to U. A., too, right?" the Sensei said, and Kimitsuki dropped her head, shaking it as everyone turned around to look at them and then laugh loudly at them.

"Huh? Never mind that killer, but Midoriya? No way!"

"Hey, Kuroyanagi, are you going to use your body or your Quirk?"

"You can't get into the hero course just by studying!"

Izuku looked at them with distraught while Kimitsuki bent over her desk, wrapping an arm around herself to hide her chest away from them, feeling tears of embarrassment well up in her eyes.

"Th-They got rid of that rule!" Izuku said to the students, who were still laughing loudly. "There's just no precedent..." He was blown back by Katsuki attacking his desk.

"Hey, Deku!" Katsuki shouted. "You're below the rejects! Never mind someone like Kimitsuki, you're Quirkless! How can you even stand in the same ring as me?"

"No, wait, Ka-Chan!" Izuku exclaimed, crawling away from him. "It's not like I'm trying to compete with you or anything! Believe me! It's just that it's been my goal ever since I was little. And well... I won't know unless I try..."

"Whaddaya mean, unless you try?!" Katsuki responded. "Are you taking the test for fun?! What the hell can you do? You're Quirkless!"

"That's enough, Ka-Chan," Kimitsuki said, getting up from her seat, feeling angered at everyone laughing at and making fun of her and her friend. She grabbed Katsuki's shoulder, and he turned to glare at her but Kimitsuki kept her face void of her usual softness. "Go back to your seat,"

"Whatever," Katsuki said, jerking his shoulder out of her hold and brushing past her as he stalked off to his seat, and Kimitsuki turned to look at the other students.

"You should all sit down, too, we've got our teacher in the classroom," Kimitsuki told them, trying to keep her head up and voice soft as usual. "I apologise, Sensei, I should be more diligent,"

At the end of School:

"The incident this morning is all over the headlines!" Izuku informed Kimitsuki as he looked at his phone while the female packed her school bag. "I wanna hurry up and go home so I can write it down in my notebook! Do you have your jobs today, Tsuki-Chan?"

"I've got today off," Kimitsuki replied, putting her notebook inside her bag. "They give me the first day of school off..." She looked up and smiled. "So, I think I will go home and just... I don't know,"

"Come over today!" Izuku said quickly. "Oka-San would be really happy to see you, too! You're always busy working... we can watch All Might's videos together, too!" Kimitsuki's smile widened.

"We're not done talking yet, Deku," Katsuki's voice interrupted them as he stalked over to the two of them, snatching Izuku's notebook. Kimitsuki turned to look at him – "Keep it to yourself, Class Rep, I don't want any interruptions,"

"Katsuki, what's that?" one of his friends asked, pointing at the notebook. Katsuki turned it over and looked at what Izuku had written on top of it –

Hero Analysis for the Future

"Huh?" the friend said. "Hero Analysis for the Future? Seriously?" He and the other friend began to laugh loudly. Kimitsuki frowned at their reaction. "Midoriya...!"

"I-It's fine, isn't it?" Izuku insisted. "Give it back!"

Kimitsuki reached to take the notebook away from Katsuki just as he put it between his hands and sparked it up with his Explosive Quirk, catching her hand with it. She hissed, snatching her away from him and biting the inside of her cheek harshly to keep the stupid tears back from welling out.

"That's mean..." Izuku said as he looked at his burnt book. Katsuki threw it out of the nearby window. "What?!" Kimitsuki's frown deepened further.

"Most top first-string heroes have stories about them from their school days," Katsuki told them. "I want the shine of being able to be called the only student to make it into U. A. from this mediocre city junior high school. I mean, I'm a perfectionist,"

"That's not something..." Kimitsuki said quietly, massaging her burnt hand.

"So anyway..." Katsuki said, looking at Izuku and placing his sparked-up hand on his shoulder. "... don't apply to U. A., nerd. If you don't apply, then you wouldn't force Kimitsuki to do, either,"

"Come on, you could at least say something back," the second boy said as he followed after Katsuki and his friend, sniggering at the two friends that remained behind.

"Don't say that," the first boy said. "He's pathetic. He still can't face reality. That Family-Killer must have him under an illusion, too. Makes you wonder if it's with her Quirk or her body,"

Kimitsuki felt disgusted as she looked after them, trying to glare at them, but she was more hurt. She has had enough with their comments about her body. She couldn't stand another year here.

Katsuki turned around to look at them, catching the distorted look on her face.

"If you wanna be a hero that badly, there's a quick way to do it," Katsuki said to Izuku. "Believe that you'll be born with a Quirk in your next life and take -!" Kimitsuki's eyes widened when she realised what he was going to say.

"Ka-Chan, watch your words!" Kimitsuki said, horrified but Katsuki simply walked out of the classroom, leaving her behind with a terrified Izuku.

"Tsuki-Chan..." Izuku muttered. "It's fine..." He noticed her burned hand. "Tsuki-Chan, you hurt yourself! Was it your Quirk? Did you use your black flames?"

"What?" Kimitsuki asked. She looked down at her injured hand. "No... I mean, yes, I think I might have accidently used it... and because I haven't used it in such a long time, I hurt myself..."

"You should go get it checked out by the nurse," Izuku said. "Come on, let's go," Kimitsuki nodded slowly, realising that none of them had noticed her pain.

She preferred that now.

She was tired of people worrying for her.

"It'll get better on its own, I can't afford to buy any bandages and such right now," Kimitsuki said suddenly, shaking her head and smiling at Izuku weakly. "Come on, we've got to go get your notebook before it gets dirtier. I can't believe Ka-Chan..."

"Idiot!" Izuku muttered as the two of them walked outside. "If I really jumped, that would mean you instigated a death! Think before you speak!"

"Your notebook..." Kimitsuki whispered, pointing out the notebook floating in the pond, where three different fish were trying to eat it.

"That's not fish food, stupid," Izuku said to the fish. "That's my notebook... Stupid... Stupid bastard..." Kimitsuki glanced at him, knowing it wasn't directed at them.

"Let's go, we can beat the traffic on the way back," Kimitsuki said softly, and they started off. She noticed Izuku's expression. "Izu-Chan, don't give up. You always told me not to worry about what other people think, then why are you...? Hold your head up high and plunge forward!"

"You're right, Tsuki-Chan!" Izuku said as they started to make their way through a small tunnel, and Kimitsuki looked up in amusement as he began to laugh loudly to cheer himself up.

But then, a strange sound suddenly halted them.

Both Kimitsuki's and Izuku's eyes widened at the large, slimy creature appearing out of the ground.

"Two medium-sized invisibility cloaks..." the Sludge Villain said as he attacked Izuku, trying to shove himself into his mouth. "Don't worry. I'm just going to take over your body! Calm down. It'll only hurt for about 45 seconds. You'll feel better soon,"

"Let go of him!" Kimitsuki shouted, terrified as she tried to pull Izuku away from the creature, but the creature was latched onto Izuku – and nothing she could do helped them out.

"You can't grab me, girl," the Sludge Villain said. "I'm fluid! Thanks for your help. You're my hero. I didn't think that had come to this city,"

Kimitsuki knew that she wouldn't be able to use her eyes when she hadn't practised with them in such a long time and she couldn't see the creature's eyes, so she tried to attack the villain with her black flames but nothing came out of her shaking hands. She felt herself tear up as she tried to pull Izuku away from the creature somehow, feeling distraught over her uselessness in the situation –

"It's all right now, young man and young lady. I am here!"

? Chapter 2 ?
Kimitsuki looked up in shock when she recognised the voice coming from behind the Sludge Villain, who quickly turned around to attack All Might – who had somehow found his way right to them and the villain. Was this what it meant to be a true hero? Always finding your way to save people, somehow? Because that is what kind of Hero Kimitsuki wanted to be, if ever possible for her.

"Texas Smash!"

There was a great wind pressure as All Might punched the Sludge Villain, making him fly back and release Izuku, who Kimitsuki quickly caught and pulled away from the fight, her wide lilac eyes stuck on the shocking scene unfolding in front of her as All Might didn't take long to subdue the villain.

"W-What are you doing...?" Kimitsuki asked as she laid Izuku, who had fainted, down and stared at All Might as he started to collect the pieces of the knocked-out villain. "You're... All Might..."

"That's me!" All Might said and Kimitsuki stared at him in awe and shock. "But... uh... could you give me a hand with this? I need to restrain the villain, you know!"

"O-of course!" Kimitsuki replied quickly as she hurried forward to help him pick up the Sludge and stuff it into the two empty bottles that he had picked up. "I'm a big fan, we both are!"

"Is your friend okay?" All Might asked and Kimitsuki nodded slowly, unable to take her eyes off of the Pro-hero. "Sorry, I should've done a better job getting this villain the first time,"

"It's okay," Kimitsuki said quietly, wondering if he had been chasing the villain around. "I couldn't do much, either... I froze up and my Quirk... is so useless... I wish I was like you,"

"What's your Quirk?" All Might inquired, and Kimitsuki was sure he wasn't some villain so it wouldn't be wrong to share her Quirk with him. But what if he found it disgusting and villainous?

Kimitsuki didn't want to shatter the image she had of All Might.

"Well, uh... I can identify Quirks, and predict movements with my Quirk..." Kimitsuki replied. "And I can use my eyes to put people in a Genjutsu... horrible illusions... and I can make black flames,"

All Might stopped, and Kimitsuki gazed at him as he turned to look straight at her lilac eyes.

"You're Kuroyanagi-Kun's daughter," All Might said in realisation, and she slowly nodded. "He was a very good friend of mine before his death, of course," Kimitsuki frowned. "I'm sorry, I had heard what had happened. But... what are you doing here? Your family house was in Tokyo, wasn't it?"

"I... was put in an Orphanage nearby when I was younger," Kimitsuki answered quietly. "I was there until the last few years of elementary school, I was, uh," She blushed in embarrassment. "Turned away... because everyone felt uncomfortable around me, and no one would adopt me. I, uh, lived around for a while, and then an old landlady took me in at her building so I can help her around in exchange for a place to live," She looked away, feeling her cheeks turn red.

"I'm sorry to hear that," All Might said in a strange tone and Kimitsuki just shrugged. "I thought you were taken in by your maternal family... but I guess their lives and works are too covert..."

"Oh, no, I'm happy where I am," Kimitsuki said quickly before she started a pity-party. "Um, my friend is a big fan of yours... could you sign his notebook for him? I don't know when he'll wake up,"

"Of course!" All Might replied. "First, we must get rid of this villain!" Kimitsuki smiled slightly and nodded as she started to help him again. "I thought your voice reminded me of someone's. It's just as your mother's. Are you training to be a Hero?"

"I just told you about my Quirk, that's not really a Hero's Quirk, is it?" Kimitsuki asked in a small voice. "And I... I killed my family... no one wants to see a Hero like that..."

"It wasn't your fault, the police aren't even sure if you're the one who did it," All Might told her. "It's an unsolved case, actually. And your Quirk isn't villainous. Illusions don't have to be horrible; you can learn to make them easier on the other person. You can show people good illusions, too,"

"That sounds strangely cruel, too," Kimitsuki muttered to herself thoughtfully and All Might sweat-dropped, realising that she was right. "But everyone says that my Quirk is villainous,"

"They're blinded by what they heard about you before they even met you," All Might said, looking like he was remembering something. "All you have to do is prove to them otherwise. Show everyone a new sight!"

Kimitsuki nodded slowly. She picked up the notebook when they were done with the Sludge Villain, and she held it out to All Might to sign, passing him a marker from her schoolbag. She hesitated and asked him for an autograph for herself, too. All Might picked Izuku and brought him outside.

"Do you think I should take him to the hospital?" Kimitsuki asked as she leaned over to look at her friend. "He's breathing normal, everything seems normal... I guess I have to wait for him to get up,"

"Hey," All Might said as he began to pat Izuku's face to wake him up. "Hey, hey, hey," Kimitsuki raised her eyebrow as she stared at them. "Hey, hey, hey,"

"Is that right?" Kimitsuki muttered, sweat-dropping, but she looked over when she saw Izuku coming back around. "Izu-Chan? You're finally awake!"

Kimitsuki and All Might watched as Izuku opened his green eyes, taking a moment to recognise the person standing next to his best friend – and then, he screamed and crawled from them, his eyes wide like saucers. Kimitsuki shook her head at his reaction but let out a small smile anyhow.

"Thank goodness!" All Might said. "I'm glad you're okay! Sorry 'bout getting you caught up in my villain fighting. I don't usually make mistakes like this, but I was in high spirits on my day off in a new place. But you and your friend were a big help. Thanks! I captured him safely!" He held up the bottles.

"Tsuki-Chan, he's really in front of us!" Izuku exclaimed, grabbing onto her waist tightly as he came to stop next to him, as he was still on his knees. "Oh, right! An a-autograph! Where should I—?"

"I already got an autograph for you, Izu-Chan," Kimitsuki told him, holding out the notebook with All Might's signature on it. "Look at this, it's amazing, isn't it?"

"Th-Thank you very much!" Izuku shouted, bowing rapidly to All Might. Kimitsuki thought he would get a whiplash. "It'll be an heirloom! A family treasure!"

"Okay!" All Might said, giving them a thumbs-up. "Well, I need take this guy to the police," He patted the bottles in his pocket. "See you again on the other side of the screen!"

"Wait, already?" Izuku asked as they watched All Might stretch his body.

"Pros are constantly fighting enemies and time," All Might informed them. Kimitsuki nodded in agreement but Izuku was still not quite satisfied with this.

"Tsuki-Chan, grab on him," Izuku said and Kimitsuki stared at him in confusion.

"Well then, I'm counting on your continued support!" All Might said and went to jump into the air, just as Kimitsuki shrugged and followed Izuku to grab onto the Pro-Hero's leg. "Wait,"

All Might turned around to see the two children holding onto his legs as they soared through the air.

"Hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey!" All Might exclaimed, trying to get rid himself of Kimitsuki and Izuku. "Let go of me! Your fanaticism is too much!"

"But if we let go of you now, then we'll die," Kimitsuki informed him.

"That's true," All Might said in realisation.

"I... have... a lot of things... I want to ask you directly!" Izuku spoke up, his mouth flying around due to the wind. Kimitsuki shook her head at him, her hair flying all over the place.

"Okay, okay!" All Might told them. "I get it, so close your eyes and mouth!" He held onto them as they lowered their heads away from the wind.

Kimitsuki looked down and noticed that they were travelling at a very high altitude. She had never seen city travelling under her like this, and she was envious of those who had Quirks that allowed them to do this. She wondered if this is also what it felt like when travelling on aeroplanes and such.

They landed on top of a building, and All Might let the two of them down.

"That was amazing..." Kimitsuki said in awe as she got onto her feet. "I wish I had a Quirk that helped me fly like that..." She looked at Izuku.

"Th-That was scary..." Izuku said, trembling all over his body as he struggled to even get back onto his feet after the flight.

"Good grief," All Might said to them. "If you talk to the people downstairs, I'm sure they'll let you down. I seriously am outta time, so I really must go,"

"Wait!" Izuku exclaimed. "Um..."

"No!" All Might replied as he walked over to the edge of the building. "I will not wait!"

"But!" Izuku said and Kimitsuki turned to look at him, wondering what was going through his head. He wasn't normally this persistent. "Even if I don't have a Quirk, can I become a hero? Can even someone without a Quirk be like you?"

"Without a Quirk...?" All Might asked as he turned to look at them, but then he suddenly benet over, issuing steam and Kimitsuki stared in confusion.

"It might've been because I don't have a Quirk," Izuku continued, oblivious. "But I'm always made fun of... Maybe that's why... I don't know... But I think saving people is super cool. Saving people with a fearless smile. I want to be the greatest hero, like you...!"

"Izu-Chan..." Kimitsuki whispered, her eyes stuck on the strange person standing in front of them, in the place of All Might. He was... gangly and rather... strange. "Am I... dreaming... or in an illusion?"

Kimitsuki reached out and pulled Izuku's face up so he could see what she was seeing.

Izuku screamed in horror at the sight of the person in front of them.

"Y-Y-You're deflating...!" Izuku shouted. "Wait, up until now... Huh?! A fa – A fake?! You're so skinny! Tsuki-Chan, did you accidently activate your Quirk? Is this a Genjutsu?!"

"I am All Might..." All Might told them, causing him to throw up blood. Kimitsuki stared at him in concern but Izuku screamed in horror again.

"No way!" Izuku yelped.

"You know how the guys at the pool are constantly flexing and posturing?" All Might tried to visualise it for them. "It's like that,"

"No way...!" Izuku said, taking a step back from him as All Might sat down on the ground. "I-It can't be... All Might is fearless... He saves everyone with a smile... He's the greatest..."

"A fearless smile, huh?" All Might said. "Now that you've seen me like this, young man and young lady... make sure you don't write about it online, even accidentally,"

"Of course, we won't," Kimitsuki replied quietly, still quite not processing what she was seeing. "I never knew... that you... had become like this..." She second-guessed becoming a Hero.

All Might raised his shirt to show them a horrific injury on left side of his body.

"It's an injury I got from an enemy's attack five years ago," All Might said. "Half of my respiratory organs were destroyed... and I lost my whole stomach. I've become emaciated from repeated surgeries and the aftereffects. Right now, I can only work as a hero... for about three hours a day,"

"That can't be..." Izuku breathed. "Five years ago...? Was that when you fought Toxic Chainsaw?"

"You're well-informed," All Might said. "But a punk like that couldn't defeat me. This fight was not made public to the world. I asked that it not be made public. I will save people with a smile! The Symbol of Peace cannot be daunted by evil. I smile to show the pressure of heroes... and to trick the fear inside of me. Pros are always risking their lives. I cannot simply say, 'You can become a hero even without power',"

"I see..." Izuku said quietly and Kimitsuki frowned, watching All Might walk over to the door that would lead him down the building.

All Might wasn't wrong.

"If you want to help others, then you could also become a police officer," All Might said. "They're often teased because they get villains delivered to their doorstep, but that is also a fine occupation. It's not bad to dream. But you also have to consider what's realistic, young man,"

All Might left the two of them at it.

"Tsuki-Chan..." Izuku whispered. "That's true, isn't it...? It's no illusion, is it...?" Kimitsuki turned to look at him with a sad expression. "I can't be a Hero..."

"I think it is more important to be heroic than to be a hero," Kimitsuki confessed. "And even if you're not a professional hero, I think you can become a heroic person. We both... I think... can do that..."

Izuku looked up with teary eyes and Kimitsuki gave him a sad, small smile, but before either of them could say or do anything, there was a loud, distant explosion, making them both turn around and look off toward the smoke issuing from a few streets down from their current location.

"Oh, there's another attack?" Kimitsuki breathed, shocked. "I wonder if the villains found out about All Might being here... Come on, Izu-Chan, let's go have a look, huh?"

But when Kimitsuki looked at Izuku, he didn't have the same excitement as before.

"Izu-Chan...?" Kimitsuki asked.

"Let's just go home, Tsuki-Chan," Izuku mumbled.

Kimitsuki walked down the footpath with Izuku, keeping herself a step behind him to allow him a bit of space as they made their way to their neighbourhood. She glanced at the green-haired boy as he looked through his notebook and frowned when she saw a drop of tear fall onto the page.

Izu-Chan is crying...?

"Please don't give up on being a hero, Izu-Chan," Kimitsuki whispered, causing Izuku to quickly wipe at his eyes to hide the tears. "Izu-Chan and Ka-Chan are the two people who make me want to be a hero, too. Like I said... you can still be a heroic person who assures people with a smile,"

"Why was I born Quirkless, Tsuki-Chan?" Izuku asked quietly. "Why me?" Kimitsuki continued to stare at the back of his head. "I wanted... to be like All Might,"

"You know, if I could give you my Quirk, I would've, Izu-Chan," Kimitsuki admitted. "I know that you would've handled and used it far better than I can ever... I think you would've really changed it into something amazing... I'm sorry that I can't be of more help..."

"It's not your fault, Tsuki-Chan, and I think you can still be a hero with it, too," Izuku told her. They looked up when they heard screams. "Is this where the explosion earlier was...?"

"It is..." Kimitsuki said, noticing the crowd that was gathered. "I think we came here out of habit, without even noticing where we were going... Come on, let's see who it is, I'll use my eyes,"

"It's meaningless, Tsuki-Chan," Izuku replied but followed behind her anyway, something that made her smile. "Wait... Tsuki-Chan... why's that guy here?!"

Kimitsuki looked up and saw that it was the Sludge Villain from earlier that was wreaking havoc.

"Did it get away from All Might?!" Izuku exclaimed before realising what was going on. "Did he drop it? If he did... then it's my fault..." Kimitsuki's own expression twisted out of guilt.

"Why aren't the heroes doing anything?"

"They can't. Apparently, the villain caught a junior high schooler. It's been like that for a while,"

"Caught...?" Izuku asked. "It's been like that for a while? How can they bear that suffocation? I thought I'd die after a few seconds. Wow..."

"That's not right," Kimitsuki said in concern. "The middle schooler shouldn't be able to hold any longer... where is everyone? They should do something now..."

"Anyway, wasn't that villain the one All Might was chasing earlier?"

"All Might? No way! He's here?"

"I think I saw him earlier,"

"Seriously?!"

"Then, what's All Might doing?!"

Feeling more and more anxious, Kimitsuki switched on her Quirk, her eyes glowing a dark purple as the three tomoe swirled out of her pupil and into her iris. She looked at the creature in front of her and saw the swirling green of his Sludge Quirk but then her eyes fell on a familiar orange colour –

"Ka-Chan!"

Izuku looked up at Kimitsuki when he heard her gasp and saw that her Quirk was activated. He quickly snapped around to look at the villain and then he saw it – Bakugo Katsuki was the hostage. Katsuki turned to look at them, his pained red eyes meeting theirs. Kimitsuki's body tensed up.

Then, before any person around them, or even the two of them themselves, both Kimitsuki and Izuku went running into the middle of the fiery battleground, much to the shock of the crowd.

"Idiots! Stop! Stop!"

Ignoring Death Arms, Kimitsuki searched for the Sludge Villain's eyes but he was moving so rapidly that it was hard to look for his eyes. She felt a faint headache overcome her as she found herself predicating the movements of the creature in front of them, and she knew she shouldn't have –

"Izu-Chan, explosion!" Kimitsuki shouted when she saw the creature's arm move, and Izuku pulled his schoolbag off and threw it at the creature, trusting Kimitsuki's predicative yell.

The bag hit the creature and distracted it enough for Kimitsuki to notice his eyes. She tried to focus on them, trying to bring the Sludge Villain into a Genjutsu but felt a cold chill when she couldn't. She couldn't understand – was it because her body was so tense or was it because she never used it?

"Shit," Kimitsuki cursed under her breath, very unlike of her to curse. "Izu-Chan, I'm going to try burning him, you pull Ka-Chan out of there," Izuku nodded quickly.

As they reached the Sludge Villain, Kimitsuki heated up her palms with the Black Flames, not wanting to throw them at the villain and possibly killing Katsuki, too. She grabbed at the creature with the burning hands, causing it to scream and recoil as Izuku hurried to pull Katsuki out of there –

"Ka-Chan!"

"Why are you two here?!" Katsuki demanded when he saw the green-haired boy and the white-haired girl in front of him, trying to save him.

"Our legs moved on their own!" Izuku replied, his big green eyes tearing up. "I don't know why, though! You looked like you were asking for help!"

"Don't get in my way!"

"Izu-Chan!" Kimitsuki shouted when her best friend was smacked away by the villain and her eyes blazed up, her hands heating up more and her eyes narrowing at the villain, meeting eyes with him.

It seemed like her Quirk worked this time, because the Sludge Villain halted, his eyes glazing over. Kimitsuki tried to keep herself from blinking as she went to reach for Katsuki, putting the villain in the Genjutsu of an abyss, not wanting to go overboard. However, the creature managed to pull out.

"Get out of my way!"

Kimitsuki was smacked out of the way, landing on her back with a groan. Her head was swirling in pain and her entire body was burning from the usage of her Black Flames and due to the fire that were burning around her. She looked up as the Sludge Villain raised his arm to attack her and Izuku.
