Hello and welcome to A Calm in the Storm, a compilation of all the deleted scenes, arcs, fluff pieces and mini-arcs that simply didn't get into the main story due to various reasons. Details additional development, interactions and background for many of the characters and sub plots.

These pieces are just that pieces. Most of these scenes were cut or discontinued from the main story due to just being fluff. As a result, these chapters will be significantly shorter than those of the main story.

To begin, this first cut arc takes place directly after chapter one of the main story and will be going through the cleanup of Gaea's armies from the war.

Other than that, Welcome and Enjoy!

Percy found himself in the pavilion of Camp's amphitheater, medically cleared though with white bandages wrapped around his torso under his repaired armor.

Time was a premium they could no longer afford to waste. Every passing moment of inaction meant that the remnants of Gaea's armies and other monster warbands scattered further.

The victorious Olympians were in for the long haul, mopping up the mess in the wake of the Second Gigantomachy would only solidify Olympian control and influence across the world.

Around him there were others but all shared a singular thing, bagged eyes and haggard but resolute postures.

No rest for the wicked. The Son of Poseidon thought, a poison that fell off the words as they flickered through his mind.

Camp counsellors and leaders, Roman centurions and the newly instated Praetors were there alongside a representative of the Party Ponies and the Hunters.

Or rather what was left of them. Artemis had left them in Camp to reconstitute a part of the Hunt on her own.

It wasn't a good idea to leave her on her own but none dared question the isolation that the Huntress insisted upon. Especially the sharpness in which it was said and the look that accompanied any that approached her.

He and Reyna stood side by side once again, The ping-pong table, sans the net, had been requisitioned for use to display a large world map.

"We all know why we are here." Her voice was stone, betraying nothing. Freshly showered and adorned in the attire of the Eternal Hunt, the right hand of Artemis, or in this case, Diana, was a new person. Gone were the golds, purples and reds of the Legion, in their stead were the silvers, whites and greys of the Hunt. Atop her head, a tiara crowning the forefront. "As the commanders who saw this war through, we will also be taking command of the clean up of monsters that managed to slip out from the cordon around Greece."

Percy was tired and he was still recovering from his own wounds but as Reyna turned towards him, he took the lead. "Make no mistake this will take time, and we want to do it right. Let us pray to the gods that we may be thorough and unflinching in our efforts."

There was a murmur of agreement and a series of nods from the Romans.

The Greeks looked less than pleased but nonetheless did not voice any dissent.

Reyna took the reins once again. She was the overall strategic commander.

Percy was there to make sure everyone stayed in line.

"The Legion has volunteered to campaign North and South America." It was a given. They were the only…professional military at the disposal of Olympus. Well the only mortal professional military at their disposal. Olympus could theoretically to pull all the stops and deploy their respective realm's standing forces but this was decidedly a demigod affair.

And given the recent war, they needed to reconstitute and reorganize and that could take years.

Reyna continued. "With help from the Party Ponies, they will eliminate any and all monster warbands and their hideouts they come across." She shot a reserved look to the centaur, that had what looked to be a bandolier of grenades strapped across his chest, as if she didn't entirely trust them to do their part.

Which was fair.

Percy didn't have the best of interactions with them either, they were unreliable but when they did help, they did so like a bolt of lightning. Striking hard but leaving just as quickly as they arrived.

"The Greeks, will split across Europe, Asia, Africa and Oceania." Reyna explained as she pointed to the continents in order.

It made sense. It took advantage of the decentralized nature of Camp Half-Blood. Each cabin operating like the city-states and warbands of old. Where the Romans would excel in the slow, methodical approach to waging war fighting from West to East, the Greeks would take the fight to the monsters in what was usually their home turf.

There were other reasons as to why this was, even if the Romans were more numerous than their Greek counterparts given their legacy numbers. Among them, their command staff were still getting used to their new positions, and the fact that those of the Legion were cut-off from the mortal side of the world since their formative years.

To put simply, the Romans couldn't blend into the Mortal Realm as easily as the Greeks could since they spent most if not all their lives in New Rome.

Percy didn't know if that was a good thing or a bad thing.

But he quite frankly didn't care all that much.

"The Hunters and Percy have been tasked with campaigning in the Mediterranean and into Europe. As we sweep from the south, we will link up with other parties and continue to the Atlantic before we end our campaign. Our estimates put the campaign on taking no less than three months to no more than a year. We're fortunate that most of the forces aligned with the Gigantes fell with them."

Both Reyna and Percy had spent the last couple weeks nights organizing this entire undertaking alongside the strategic minds of the children of Athena, Mars, Bellona and Kratos.. The greatest and blessed military minds in the world accounting for everything that could go wrong or in their favor

The children of Hecate would be instrumental in the effort as they could translocate to anywhere in the world. A plane ride that would have taken dozens of hours was cut to a momentary step.

Morale, finances, medicine, supplies, support personnel, replacements, rotations, establishments of safe havens and emergency caches, parties to seek out and recover artefacts, expansion of the entire effort tenfold if need be. Contingencies. Compensation for legacies, their livelihoods and further protection.

Considering that demigods would be forbidden from travel in the East until the Olympians could establish a more firm foothold there, it was wise to prepare for future children of the gods as they came about. Legacies would be returning to their homes across the world over from the war and would need to be afforded a measure of protection from threats, assurances of their livelihoods and health and compensated accordingly for their assistance and participation in the war. All of it taken into account. The treasury of Olympus considered such an undertaking a paltry sum in the grand scheme of things.

This campaign was not just about neutralizing the monster threat but to destroy it at its root and to plant the seeds of Olympian superiority in the world. It would take time but Percy and Reyna were adamant that if they were going to bring war to the monsters, they would do it right.

Percy gestured forwards, as several other half-bloods stepped forward with manilla files in their hands. "For the Greeks, the locations you'll be sent to, your assignments, the resources that will be available for you to draw upon, whom you'll report and all relevant information you need. Any questions you may have will be directed to your handlers. The Romans alongside the Party Ponies will be briefed in New Rome by the Praetors as to their campaign. For the beginning of the campaign, the Hunters and I will be unavailable for contact so if you have any questions for us, now is your chance."

There were none as the counselors began thumbing through their files.

"May the gods be with you and remember, Olympus is watching." Those infernal parting words were a chill to his bones and he was able to spot several near hidden glares directed at him as they watched them walk away.

'It is not enough to win a war; it is more important to organize the peace.'
