Summary: The coffee situation on Tracy Island is explained to Willow Ling
Notes: This is set the day after Finding Out.
The Coffee on Tracy Island…
Willow Ling stared at the three pots of coffee sitting on warmers on the bench top of Tracy Island's kitchen.
"Hey, lover boy," Willow called back to Scott who sitting next to Piper at the kitchen island. "What's with the coffee?" She asked, gesturing to the three pots on the counter.
"The yellow pot is Gordon and Dad's decaf…"Scott started to reply, when Piper cut in.
"Since when did your father drink decaf?" She hissed.
"Since I spent eight years in space, without access to even a bad cup of coffee," Jeff grumbled, from where he was sitting at the kitchen table. "Now I can't even have a cup of the good stuff without starting to vibrate."
Scott gave his father as sympathetic look as he continued, "The large black pot is the Tracy Island standard that most of us drink on a normal day…"
"It's the same as what I drink at home," Piper added.
Willow groaned softly, Piper's coffee, while drinkable, wasn't strong enough for her liking, but I will survive, she thought as she reached for a cup and paused, "What's in the third pot then?" She asked.
"The green one with the skull and crossbones?" Scott replied. "That's Virgil's extra strong blend."
"A cup of that stuff and you feel like running out to Meteo Island," Gordon added, as he walked into the kitchen, grabbing a yellow mug and pouring himself a cup of the decaf before going to sit down at the table with his father and Grandmother.
"Don't you mean swim?" Jeff snorted at his fourth son.
"No, he means run," Sally grumbled. "The pots got switched once, a couple of years ago."
"That was a nightmare," Scott muttered. "Not helped by the fact that Gordon had convinced himself that he had actually grew gills."
"Not my proudest moment," Gordon agreed. "It's a good thing I can hold my breath for an extended period, otherwise I would have drowned, but yeah if caffeine content in that coffee doesn't kill you, Virgil will if he doesn't get a cup of it pretty much as soon as he manages to drag his butt down here."
"Not a morning person is he?" Willow asked, as she poured herself a cup, and snagged a bagel as she sat down on the other side of Piper.
Gordon nodded, "It takes a couple of cups to turn him into the loveable teddy bear we all know and love," he confirmed. "Before then he's pure grizzly."
Willow smiled thoughtfully as she took a sip from her cup.

Virgil stalked into the kitchen, growling at the way too cheerful "Morning Virgil's" he received from his family, all of which had entered the kitchen before him, while grabbing his cup and pouring himself a cup of coffee and downing it just as quick and then poured himself a second cup, before grabbing some breakfast and sitting down next to Scott.
"That's some good coffee you have there, Virgil," a voice from the other side of Piper commented. "You have to tell me where you sourced your beans."
Virgil looked down the side of the kitchen island to the attractive stranger sitting next to Piper, who was holding up a cup and smiling at him.
Then his still sleep addled brain caught up with him, this was Willow Ling, Piper's roommate and the medical doctor that worked with Piper's search and rescue team in the GDF who had came back to the island with Piper after International Rescue rescued their team for a violent storm the day before.
Virgil looked over at his coffee pot and realised it was lower than it normally was, "It wasn't too strong for you?" He asked, as turned his attention back to Willow. "Because that is a very strong blend."
"Nope," Willow replied. "The sheer amount of hours that goes into medical school and intern work, required me to find something strong enough to get me through them," she sighed. "The problem with that however, is that anything weaker tastes like dirty water to me."
Virgil stared at Willow, awestruck, while Scott and Piper, as if realising that something was happening between the pair moved over to the kitchen table as Willow moved closer to Virgil sparking a discussion about coffee between the pair.

As Scott sat down at the table he remembered a conversation he had with Piper and Willow one time he had stayed with them in the past, on one of the very rare occasions he got away from IR, he had tried to steal Piper's coffee only to find out it was Willow's, and he had made the comment that Virgil would have probably loved it.
"So when do you think they are going to get together?" Alan stage whispered to him.
Scott playfully backhanded Alan's shoulder, truth be told he had been conspiring with Piper for some time to introduce Virgil and Willow to each other, something told him that the pair would be a good match, but circumstances up to this point hadn't allowed them to meet, "What makes you think that's going to happen, Alan?" He playfully asked his youngest brother.
"Bro," Gordon cut in. "If you and Piper weren't busy sorting out your own relationship yesterday you would have felt the energy between those two."
"You are aware that we can hear you, right?" Virgil growled.
"We were talking about you, not to you, Virgil," Gordon replied.
"Boys…" Jeff warned.
"Maybe you can give me a tour around the island, Virgil," Willow suggested. "And let the gossips gossip."
"That sounds like a good idea," Virgil agreed as he stood up and took Willow by the hand. "See you guys later."
Virgil and Willow left the kitchen.
Scott looked at the rest of his family and shrugged.
