? Chapter 11 ?
Kimitsuki and Izuku arrived at the U. A. High School for their second day with high spirits. While Izuku was just glad to not be kicked out on his first day, Kimitsuki was looking forward to the classes that they would be having that day. Their entire weekly schedule was very interesting to her.
"Good morning, Ka-Chan," Kimitsuki greeted Katsuki as she took her seat behind him. She didn't mind that he didn't reply to her and she didn't insist on it. She didn't want to bother him too much.
Quite honestly, Kimitsuki had wanted to smile at Katsuki when she went to take her seat behind him but decided against him. She knew she had to take it slow with Katsuki lest it gets worse.
Even though it was the Hero course, Kimitsuki was glad to see that they had all their normal classes, too. They were taught subjects like English by Present Mic and Mathematics by Ectoplasm.
"Which of these English sentences is wrong?" Present Mic asked, pointing to the blackboard as he turned to look at the students. "Everybody, heads up! Let's get this party started!"
A. The man whom I respect most is my father.
B. That is the house in which he lived.C. I well remember the day on which we both met.D. Please tell me that all you know.
Kimitsuki glanced her eyes over the sentences and then raised her hand to be picked out to answer.
"Okay, Kuroyanagi, come on!" Present Mic shouted, and Kimitsuki blushed slightly as she stood up to answer, bowing her head slightly to thank him for picking her out.
"Yes, Sensei, the answer is 'D'," Kimitsuki answered quietly. "The relative pronoun – 'that' – is in the wrong place in the sentence. Either it should be omitted or switch places with 'all',"
"Correct!" Present Mic exclaimed.
Their lunch break was an interesting affair as well, prepared by the Cook Hero – Lunch Rush.
Finally, around that afternoon, everyone sat in anticipation of their next class – which was Hero Basic Training. Kimitsuki was wondering what it was about and who was going to teach it to them. Was it going to be their homeroom teacher, Aizawa? There was a lot of things that Kimitsuki wanted to learn from him, and could learn from him.
"I am ... coming through the door like a normal person!"
Along with her classmates, Kimitsuki turned to look at the doorway and saw that it was All Might who had made his appearance, and he was, of course, in his muscle form rather than his actual one.
"It's All Might!" Denki exclaimed.
"Wow, he really is a teacher!" Eijiro shouted.
"That's a costume from the Silver Age, isn't it?" Tsuyu observed.
"The style is so different; it's giving me goose-bumps!" Mashirao breathed.
Kimitsuki watched with a small smile as All Might walked into the classroom and to the teacher's desk. She felt like she would've been awed like her classmates had she not trained with All Might.
"I teach Hero Basic Training," All Might told them. "It is a subject where you train in different ways to learn the basics of being a hero. You'll take the most units of this subject! Let's get right into it! This is what we'll do today – Combat training!"
"Combat..." Katsuki growled in anticipation.
"... training," Izuku muttered in uncertainty.
"We're already starting with that, huh?" Kimitsuki breathed, looking at All Might as her classmates all began to chatter excitedly about what they wanted to do in their upcoming lesson.
"And to go with that are these!" All Might shouted. "Costumes made based on your Quirk registrations and requests you sent in before school started!"
Kimitsuki looked over where he had been pointing and saw several lockers extending out of the wall – containing their Hero uniforms. Everyone was excited and in awe to see them. She was excited, too, but she already knew what her clothes looked like because she was the one who put it all together. She had gone through quite a hassle for the cloth to make it.
"After you change, gather in Ground Beta!" All Might told them, and left the classroom to head out to the grounds and letting them change into their outfits.
Everyone rushed to their numbered lockers to pull out the costumes, and Kimitsuki stood up to unpack her own from her school bag – black hakama and cropped jacket, with boats and forage cap. The material was all made to suit her fire.
It wasn't much but Kimitsuki had designed it after the Hero costumes her parents used to wear.
"Did you see your costume?" Kimitsuki asked Izuku as she watched him get his own costume out of his bag. "Your mother was very concerned about it... she came to me to see if I could help her out,"
"It's really good, Tsuki-Chan," Izuku replied as the two of them turned to leave their classroom with others so they could go change in the changing rooms before their lesson. "What about yours?"
"Mine's like Oka-San and Oto-San," Kimitsuki answered. "You'll see..." Her eyes fell on Katsuki, who was dragging some chunky uniform. "I wonder what Ka-Chan designed..."
And Kimitsuki didn't have to wait long to see what it was.
But before all that, Kimitsuki went into even more insecurity when she saw that her female classmates were all going for a simpler, bodysuit look with their costumes – except for Toru, who was in her birthday suit, and Kyoka, who was in a casual style of dressing. She wondered if she herself was being a bit too formal with her clothing, and a lot less colourful than others, too.
"Um, I'm going out," Kimitsuki said to the females who were chatting in the locker room. She was only mainly interactive with Mina and Ochaco. "See you guys... there,"
Stepping outside and taking a deep breath, Kimitsuki fixed her jacket to make sure it wasn't drawing too much attention away from her face, and looked up to see Katsuki leaving the boys' locker room.
Katsuki looked... rather strange.
For some reason, he was wearing a jagged black mask around his eyes that opened up to large, orange-rimmed flares on either side of his head. His outfit was dark – black sleeveless tank top with an orange 'X' across his chest. He had a metallic brace around his neck and some rather large grenade-like gauntlets on his arms, and more grenades around his belt.
"You look nice, Ka-Chan," Kimitsuki said before she could filter it in a way that he wouldn't take wrongly and he glared at her before he started off down the corridor.
Kimitsuki hurried to walk along and kept her distance between them, but continued to smile as she looked at his costume closely. She could see that it was pretty heavy for him to carry on his own and she understood that he was taking all this very seriously and she knew the nature of his Quirk, too.
"Wah, Kimitsuki-Chan, you look pretty good!" Mina cheered as soon as her eyes fell on the white-haired girl. "You've got a samurai sword, too, huh?"
"Thank you, Mina-Chan, you look very nice, too," Kimitsuki said as she bowed her head, her hand going subconsciously to the sword that was strapped to her waist.
Kimitsuki looked at the people who were already gathered there – Todoroki Shoto, Koda Koji, Mezo Shoji and Tokoyami Fumikage (who all kept to themselves), Hanta (who gave her a thumbs-up), Eijirou (who blushed at her) and Minoru... who was staring at her costume rather disappointedly until his eyes reached her chest – at which he began to salivate quickly and she looked away.
"Tsuki-Chan," Ochaco said as she reached the white-haired female. "I'm so embarrassed!" Kimitsuki looked at her in confusion. "I forgot to mention how tight I wanted my costume... it's tight!"
"Um, you look lovely," Kimitsuki replied as she stared at the brunette, making her blush under her gaze. "Don't worry about it," She gave her a small smile.
"Is that so?" Ochaco asked, relaxing a bit when she found out no one was faulting her for this. "Thank you very much, Tsuki-Chan! Can I call you that?"
"If you would like to... though, most people call me Kimitsuki-Chan," Kimitsuki replied, slightly unsettled by the thought of people calling her nickname that only Izuku and Katsuki used to use for her.
"I'll call you Kimitsuki-Chan, too, then," Ochaco said, seemingly recognising the look in the tall female's eyes. "I wonder where Iida-Kun and Deku-Kun are?"
"Kuroyanagi-Kun, Uraraka-Kun," Tenya said as he approached the two of them, and Kimitsuki turned around to see him in an entirely armoured suit.
"You look good, Iida-Kun," Kimitsuki replied, racking her brains as she tried to remember who he was reminding her of. She looked up at his eyes through his helmet. "Were you inspired by –"
"They say the clothes make the man, young men and ladies!" All Might addressed them. "Be fully aware... From now on you are heroes! That's great, everyone. You all look cool! Now, shall we begin, you zygotes?"
"He always comes up with interesting names, doesn't he?" Kimitsuki wondered under her breath as she turned to look at All Might as he approached them all.
But she quickly shut herself up before anyone could question her about this. Both Kimitsuki and Izuku – as well as All Might – had kept this a secret that he had trained them for ten months and given Izuku his powerful Quirk. She turned to look over when she heard Izuku running over to them.
"Izu-Chan," Kimitsuki said, smiling when she saw her best friend dressed in his green full-body jumpsuit that had a red belt, gloves, elbow and knee pads as well as his red boots. "You look great,"
"Thank you, Tsuki-Chan!" Izuku said as he grinned behind the respirator that resembled All Might's grin. She reached to fix the long ear-like protrusions – that looked like All Might's hairstyle.
"Oh, Deku?" Ochaco inquired as she realised who Kimitsuki was talking to.
"Uraraka-San!" Izuku responded as he started to get all blushing and awkward around, hiding behind Kimitsuki slightly as he rubbed the back of his head.
"That looks cool!" Ochaco told him. "Really down to earth. I should have written what I wanted... Mine ended up being a skin-tight bodysuit. It's embarrassing..."
"The hero course is the best," Minoru said, giving a thumbs-up and Kimitsuki looked away from him.
When Kimitsuki's eyes fell upon All Might, he gave her a thumbs-up at her clothes and she knew he recognised what she had been inspired by. Maybe he thought that she was really embracing who she was. Then, his eyes fell onto Izuku, and it seemed like he recognised Izuku's inspiration, too, and was trying his best not to laugh as he quickly looked away from them. Kimitsuki smiled.
"Now, it's time for combat training!" All Might announced, getting everyone's attention to himself.
"Sensei!" Tenya spoke up, holding up his hand immediately. "This is a battle centre from the entrance exam, so will we be conducting urban battles again?"
"No, we're going to move ahead two steps!" All Might replied. "Most of the time, fighting villains takes place outside, but if you look at the total numbers, atrocious villains appear indoors at a higher rate. Imprisonment, house arrest, backroom deals –
"In this society filled with heroes truly intelligent villains hide in the shadows! For this class, you'll be split into villains and heroes and fight 2-on-2 indoor battles,"
"Without basic training?" Tsuyu inquired.
"This is a real battle to understand those basics!" All Might replied. "However, the key this time is that there's no robot you can just beat up,"
"How will wins and losses be determined?" Momo questioned.
"Can we beat them up anyway?" Katsuki demanded.
"Will the punishment be expulsion like with Aizawa Sensei?" Ochaco asked.
"How shall we be split up?" Tenya inquired.
"Isn't this cape crazy?" Yuga posed forward.
"I'll answer all your questions!" All Might said. "Now listen here," He opened his script. "The situation is that the villains have hidden a nuclear weapon somewhere in their hideout. The heroes are trying to dispose of that. The heroes need to catch the villains or get the nuclear weapon back in the allotted time. The villains need to protect the nuclear weapon for the whole time or catch the heroes,"
"Nuclear weapon, huh?" Kimitsuki breathed as she watched All Might pull out a box. She looked at it curiously, wondering what it was now.
"Teams and opponents will be determined by drawing lots!" All Might told them, and Kimitsuki realised what the box was for. However, Tenya immediately had another inquiry.
"They're being decided so haphazardly?" Tenya asked. All Might stopped and Kimitsuki came to his rescue before she even realised it.
"Um, more than often in case of sudden villainous attacks, Pro-Heroes have to work together," Kimitsuki spoke up quietly. "Regardless of their agencies. I think... All Might wants us to get that experience from the get-go and work well with whomsoever we're partnered with..."
"I see," Tenya said. "The discernment to look ahead... Please excuse my rudeness!" He bowed deeply. "I must say, I should've expected just a wonderful analysis from the number one student!"
"It's nothing like that, Iida-Kun," Kimitsuki said quickly, blushing as she looked away from him. She caught Katsuki's glare, clearly annoyed at her showing off all the time.
"It's fine," All Might said, relieved. "Let's do this quickly!"
One by one, all the students walked ahead and got their piece of paper. Kimitsuki went ahead at the very end and put her hand into the box, drawing out a piece of paper. She looked at what it said –
Team A
"Team A, huh?" Kimitsuki whispered. She glanced around at the people, wondering who she was partnered up with and noticed a few of them still not teamed up. "Izu-Chan, are you Team A?"
"You're Team A, too?!" Izuku cried out and Kimitsuki nodded quickly, showing it to him. "That's great, Tsuki-Chan! We work together, don't we?" She gave him a closed-eyes smile.
"Of course, Izu-Chan," Kimitsuki replied. "We do well today – let's do well with the test, too, huh?"
Kimitsuki's thoughts were however off to what she must do today. She touched her sword and wondered if she would have to work with her Quirk. She took in a deep breath, reminding herself that she shouldn't let her emotions get the better of her and work safely with her Genjutsu.
"The first teams to fight..." All Might said as he pulled two balls, one from 'villain' box and one from 'hero' box. "... will be these guys! Team A will be the heroes, and Team D will be the villains. Everyone else, head toward the monitor room,"
"Yes, sir!"
Everyone who wasn't participating in the match walked off from there, and Kimitsuki turned to look at Team D – only to find that it was Katsuki and Tenya. She noticed Katsuki's glare at her and Izuku, causing her to frown as she peered at him. Next to her, Izuku looked away but then looked back at Katsuki determinedly, something that angered Katsuki. All Might walked back over to the four.
"Villain team, go in first and set up!" All Might said to Katsuki and Tenya, before turning to Kimitsuki and Izuku. "In five minutes, the hero team will break in, and the battle will start!"
"Yes, sir!"
All Might led the four students down the road and toward one of the many buildings that littered the civilian-battleground of Ground Beta. He opened the front door to let Katsuki and Tenya inside, and Kimitsuki at the five-floored building in front of them uncertainly.
"Young Iida, young Bakugou learn to think from the perspective of the villains," All Might advised them. "This is pretty close to a real battle. Don't be afraid to get hurt and go all out,"
"Yes, sir!" Tenya answered diligently. Kimitsuki glanced at Katsuki when he didn't bother replying.
"If things go too far, I will stop it," All Might warned them all.
"Yes, sir!" Tenya said as he and Katsuki headed inside.
All Might walked over to the two remaining students and pulled out two maps, handing them over to them before he, too, left the location. Kimitsuki looked down to the map and saw it was a floor-plan.
"Is this it, huh, Izu-Chan?" Kimitsuki breathed as she turned to look at Izuku. She sweat-dropped when she noticed who was shaking out of fear as he looked at the floor-plan. "Izu-Chan...?"
"Tsuki-Chan..." Izuku said in a shaky voice as he met eyes with her lilac orbs. "... we're up against Ka-Chan, huh...?" Kimitsuki nodded slowly. "And there's Iida-Kun, too... so I feel like I need to be on guard..."
"We'll both have to be on our guard," Kimitsuki replied. "Ka-Chan is very good with his offensive stance... and Iida-Kun looks like he's really, really fast, too..."
"He's amazing, isn't he, Tsuki-Chan?" Izuku asked. "He's a piece of work... but his goal, his confidence, his physical strength, and his Quirk are way more amazing than mine. But that's why right now... I don't want to lose..."
"It's true that Ka-Chan is better than the two of us combined," Kimitsuki admitted. "He's wonderful... he always comes on top..." She smiled softly. "But we need to work hard, too. We need to reach his level... I want to... stand shoulder-to-shoulder with him..."
Izuku gazed up at Kimitsuki's sad smile and wondered what she was thinking about.
"Right now, we have to think of a plan," Kimitsuki said, straightening up. "Our goal is to get to the nuclear weapon first and foremost. You know that Ka-Chan would definitely leave Iida-Kun on protection duty – so I will fight Ka-Chan if we come across him and you will go get the nuclear weapon,"
"No... I think I should go against Ka-Chan," Izuku replied. "You can use your Quirk to dodge Iida-Kun and get to the weapon. I know Ka-Chan's fighting style even without your Quirk, but not Iida-Kun's,"
"We'll see that at the moment," Kimitsuki responded, still a bit unsure about this. "Ka-Chan really does get easily angered and I don't want him to hurt you or get hurt himself too much..."
"It'll be fine, Tsuki-Chan," Izuku assured her. "We'll definitely get to the nuclear weapon," He swallowed and Kimitsuki sighed. "We'll win... against Ka-Chan, right?"
Nodding slowly at his words, Kimitsuki looked at the building in front of them. She was very sure that Katsuki wanted nothing more than to beat them up for 'tricking' him all this while. She wished she could be honest with him – she hated keeping things from people or lying. But there was that...
What am I going to do with my Quirk?
Quite honestly, Kimitsuki hadn't expected she would have to rely on her illusionary Quirk so soon into her Hero course. She wished she had gotten a bit more counselling on how to deal with it.
Would I be able to do it without mentally impacting others or myself?
Kimitsuki had tried to work on creating illusions in her own head following the incident with the thief and what Granny Haruna had said. Number One Hero, that's what she was supposed to work to.
Can I really be the number one hero?
There were still a lot of insecurities within Kimitsuki's heart and there was a lot of things she needed to learn to be able to fight with all of her might. She was supposed to be a better person now. She had fought back and tried to protect her friends that day. It has to mean something. Something...
"Now, let's start the indoor person-to-person combat training with Team A and Team D!"
? Chapter 12 ?
All Might's sudden announcement made Kimitsuki jump and blush deeply when she realised that her and Izuku's conversation was being heard by everyone. She hoped that Katsuki wouldn't come to know how the two of them stood there for a few minutes only complimenting him and his abilities.
"We should head in, then," Kimitsuki said to Izuku. "We should enter from the side; I don't want Ka-Chan blasting our faces off as soon as we enter from the front door,"
Izuku gulped, knowing she was just being sarcastic – something she did when she was nervous – but he couldn't help but imagine it happening to them and shuddered in response, following behind her.
"Remember, we have to keep damage to the building minimum," Kimitsuki reminded him as they approached and window, with Kimitsuki pulling out a hair pin to pick the lock and open it.
There was a small click as Kimitsuki turned the pin to the left and she smiled to herself, reaching over and pushing the window open before crawling through it like a cat, her eyes immediately glowing purple as she surveyed the location. She motioned Izuku to follow behind her and enter.
"We've infiltrated successfully!" Izuku whispered as he climbed inside the building as well. "But there are many blind spots around here..." Kimitsuki nodded.
"I'll lead the way," Kimitsuki said quietly. "I've got my Quirk open – you have to keep in touch with my signals. We're using the playground ones. Neither of us can control our Quirks without hurting people so please be careful with your emotions,"
Whether those words were for Izuku or herself, Kimitsuki had no idea.
"Let's quickly get the weapon," Izuku replied, feeling uncertainty rise at her words – it was true that neither of them was remarkable when it came to controlling their Quirks.
Slowly and silently, the two childhood friends made their way through the empty, dark corridors. Kimitsuki's eyes were scurrying all over the place to make sure she would catch anyone and anything. Her body was tensed up and she tried to control her emotions lest she activates a Genjutsu out of shock.
And as they were making their way to another turn in the corridors, it finally happened –
Katsuki jumped out from around the corner and Kimitsuki's eyes narrowed on his body as she reached to grab Izuku – who was already reaching out for her – and she pulled him back rapidly.
The explosion that Kimitsuki had seen occur seconds before finally manifested out of Katsuki's hand.
"Ka-Chan and his surprise attacks," Kimitsuki groaned as she pushed herself up straight. She looked at Katsuki and immediately noticed that he was evading meeting eyes with her entirely.
But Kimitsuki doubted she would be able to use her Quirk on him, now that she could see his face.
"Are you okay, Izu-Chan?" Kimitsuki asked grimly as she kept her eyes on Katsuki for any chance of halting him in his way. She could hear Izuku finally get onto his feet.
"I'm fine, it's just a scratch," Izuku replied. "What about you, Tsuki-Chan?" Kimitsuki just nodded in reply, waiting to see their opponent's actions.
"Come on, Deku, are you going to rely on Kimitsuki's predictions here, too?" Katsuki responded, egging him on and Kimitsuki rolled her eyes at the two boys.
"I don't make predications," Kimitsuki said, exasperated. "You both need to understand the difference between predictions and anticipation,"
"I figured you would come for me first," Izuku said to Katsuki, and Kimitsuki frowned when she heard the edge of anger in his voice as well.
"I won't do so much damage that this fight gets stopped, but I'm gonna get close!" Katsuki said as he began to head toward them. "Get out of the way, Class Rep, stop butting in all the time!"
"It's my battle, too, Ka-Chan," Kimitsuki replied, and before she could signal Izuku what to do in counter to Katsuki, he went running ahead on his own. "Izu-Chan, don't!"
Katsuki grinned deviously when he saw their teamwork dissolve but that didn't last for very long –
Izuku rushed to meet Katsuki in the middle and reached out to grab Katsuki's right arm before he could swing it and blast them off with the help of his heavy gauntlets. This absolutely shocked Katsuki – who stared at Izuku with wide, angered yet surprised red eyes.
Kimitsuki, who had been aware of how well Izuku knew of Katsuki's fighting style, was rather differently shocked when she saw that Izuku, using all of his physical strength, swung Katsuki over his shoulder and onto the ground between himself and Kimitsuki.
"Ka-Chan!" Kimitsuki gasped slightly when she saw his pained expression, but she held herself back, reminding herself that one, they were currently opponents and two, he disliked people asking if he was okay.
For moment, there was only the sound of Izuku's heavy breathing in the dark corridor.
"Ka-Chan..." Izuku breathed heavily. "I don't need Tsuki-Chan's predictions against you... You usually start with a big right swing. How much do you think I've been watching you?"
Katsuki pushed himself to sit up, looked at Kimitsuki in front of him, and then, glared at Izuku over his shoulder.
"I wrote an analysis for all the heroes I thought were amazing in my notebook," Izuku continued. "In the notebook you blew up and threw away... My 'Deku' isn't always going to mean 'useless'! Ka-Chan... my 'Deku' means 'You can do it!'"
"Deku..." Katsuki growled as he finally pushed himself back onto his own feet, turning to face the green-haired male. "Even though you're scared... that's what I hate about you!"
"Hey, Bakugo-Kun!
Give me your status!
What happened?!"
It was Tenya's voice shouting in from the wireless radio in his teammate's ear. Kimitsuki tensed up, wondering how far up he was to be feeling all these tremors and such from their skirmish below. Katsuki's body itself was taut, as she could see with her eyes, as he tried to keep check of both players of the Hero Team that had the ash-blond surrounded from either side. He was cornered.
"Just shut up and defend!" Katsuki shouted back. "I'm really angry right now!" He reached up and Kimitsuki frowned as he turned his radio off – going totally silent on his own teammate.
Kimitsuki looked at Izuku over Katsuki's shoulder and motioned to him with spinning her fingers around that she would take on Katsuki and he should run. But Izuku swiped his hand and jerked it back to tell her to not go that route and give him the capturing tape. She frowned in response –
"Now, Tsuki-Chan!" Izuku shouted and Kimitsuki begrudgingly pulled out the tape from her pocket and threw it toward Izuku just as he distracted Katsuki with rushing at his attack.
"Meet up with me!" Kimitsuki told him before rushing past her two childhood friends locked in a fight as she turned around to the corner where Katsuki had come from.
Pushing her hair away from her face, Kimitsuki knew that she had to seek the weapon to seek Tenya because their communication had confirmed it that he wasn't waiting around to attack but defending. She chewed the inside of her cheek as she turned around corridors and found stairs.
As Kimitsuki climbed up the stairs, she heard a distant sound of a loud explosion and she grimaced as she tried to hurry up faster. She wanted to end this fight before any of her two friends got too hurt.
This was supposed to go smoothly – she would've held Katsuki back with her Quirk and Izuku would've gotten past Tenya somehow and gotten the weapon. She would've had easier time getting the tape onto Katsuki. His actions were easy to decipher – even without her Quirk on at all times.
Would I even have been able to put Ka-Chan into an illusion?
Will I have to put Iida-Kun into an illusion?
At that moment, Kimitsuki's speed slackened a bit – what if this was the Villain Team's strategy? Separate them, tear apart their team plan and then take them down? But then she shook her head no at that. There was no way Katsuki would work with a teammate when there's Izuku and her involved.
Ka-Chan would want to get us both on his own!
As for Iida-Kun...
"Don't be a big softie, Kimitsuki-Chan," Kimitsuki whispered, trying to assure herself. "Don't be a big softie – your Quirk isn't villainous, you must show them all a new side to yourself,"
There was another tremor beneath her feet and Kimitsuki felt anxious as she tried to imagine what Izuku and Katsuki were doing. As much as she didn't want them to get hurt, she wondered if this battle would help them get over their emotions toward each other. Especially with Katsuki.
If I'm not wrong, we've only got fourteen minutes to go...
I need to get this done before I'm at a limit.
Kimitsuki blinked several times as she approached another room, wanting to keep her eyes from drying up as she slowed down and crept around, wanting to see if Tenya was in this room after all.
"Bakugo-Kun is a natural at being bad, but that fits this training perfectly. Then, I must also devote myself to being a villain. That's right. This is another trail to turn me into a man who will not bring shame to the Iida Family,"
Tenya was talking to himself and the air. Kimitsuki sweat-dropped as she peeked around the corner, watching him walk around like a villain. In any other case, she would've found it a bit cute but right now, this strange pep-talk was rather terrifying and frankly disturbing, especially on his own like this.
"Become a villain!" Tenya exclaimed. "Be dyed with evil in order to become a hero! I am... extremely evil!" Kimitsuki sweat-dropped at his actions and shook her head. "Just like Bakugo-Kun!"
"Um, Ka-Chan may be a bit out-spoken but he's not a bad person at heart," Kimitsuki spoke up as she stepped out from behind the wall and looked over as Tenya turned to look at her.
Tenya by-passed her comments and pointed directly at her face.
"I knew that you would come here alone the instant Bakugo-Kun ran off by himself," Tenya told her. "I know that you use your eyes to attack your opponents – so I know not to look at you! And you get dry eyes and heated up quickly when using your Quirk! I know everything! You have blundered, hero!"
"Um, I haven't even done anything yet," Kimitsuki replied, tilting her head in wonder at him. "I see that you've truly adapted to your role as a villain. But... I don't really mind if you know how I fight..."
Kimitsuki held up a finger to him and reached for her wireless radio.
"Hey, um, Izu-Chan," Kimitsuki said. "I've found both Iida-Kun and the weapon – it's in the middle of the fifth floor. We don't have a lot of time so I'm going to face Iida-Kun,"
"You're directly above me," Izuku replied and Kimitsuki frowned when she heard the shakiness in his voice. "I'm coming to you, Tsuki-Chan... I can't... I can't lose this fight!"
Before she could talk to him further, Kimitsuki looked up to see Tenya finally gearing up and rushing toward her. She swallowed slightly and remained standing still as he suddenly came to screeching halt. He looked down at his feet and his eyes widened when he saw something sludgy and black creeping out of the ground. It was wrapping itself rapidly up his legs and around his waist.
"I'm sorry, Iida-Kun," Kimitsuki said, her forehead creased in concentration. "But you're currently under a Genjutsu. You can't do anything without my permission,"
On her reveal, Tenya looked around in shock as their surroundings began to melt down, leaving the two of them seemingly levitating in pure darkness. He tried to move but found himself back in the same place he started from. He looked toward Kimitsuki as she continued to stare at him closely.
It was obvious she was trying desperately to concentrate on something. Suddenly, a voice cut into the illusion itself –
"Young Bakugo, stop!
Are you trying to kill him?!"
It was All Might's voice. Kimitsuki's illusion flickered slightly as she blinked and both she and Tenya looked up when a gigantic roar of an explosion rang through the illusion and shook the entire building they were standing on in reality. She grabbed onto her head to keep her concentration.
"What was that?!" Tenya said, shocked. He whipped around to look at Kimitsuki again. "Did you do that, Kuroyanagi-Kun?!"
"No, that wasn't me," Kimitsuki replied. "It was something from outside my illusion," She grimaced as she kept herself in the illusion with Tenya even though she wanted to go out of it and gave a look.
"Young man!
Young Midoriya!"
"Bakugo-Kun, answer me!" Tenya shouted into his wireless radio to get to his teammate. "Did you do that? What in the world did you do? Explain yourself!"
"Um, you can't communicate with your teammate in an illusion, you know?" Kimitsukia replied. "You should concentrate on me and not what is going on below us,"
"When did you put me under your Genjutsu?" Tenya questioned, his body tense as he looked around – so far, she hadn't done anything to him so he couldn't understand what was going on.
"I put you into it the moment you acknowledged me," Kimitsuki answered. "We met eyes, didn't we? Even though you had said you would avoid my eyes... it's not very easy to do, is it?"
"I've been in an illusion all this time?" Tenya asked. He suddenly realised that he didn't have any understanding of time anymore. "How long has this been going on?"
"Seven minutes have already passed, even though it seems like only barely a minute," Kimitsuki replied, taking a struggling step from her body outside the illusion.
As soon as she took the step outside, Kimitsuki's inner self watched a black coil latch around onto Tenya's leg and she hurriedly put herself back into the illusion, fearing that she might really end up hurting him if she got distracted and left him by himself in the Genjutsu like this.
I still have to learn how to do it simultaneously, huh...?
Kimitsuki pursed her lips as she found herself back in the Genjutsu world. Tenya was struggling to get the coil around from his armoured leg and her thoughts were off to where her teammate was.
"Young Bakugo, the next time you use that, I'll stop the fight, and your team will lose. To attack on such a large scale inside is inviting the destruction of the stronghold you should be protecting. That is a foolish plan for both heroes and villains! You will lose a lot of points for it!"
"Izu-Chan?" Kimitsuki said, reaching for her own wireless radio, watching her the world around her turn darker and darker in her distraction. "What's going on down there? Come up, quickly! Don't destroy the building on your way,"
"Tsuki-Chan, I'm sorry!" Izuku exclaimed back into his radio. Kimitsuki furrowed her eyebrows in concern for him. "What are you saying? I couldn't get it! Are we going to destroy the building?"
"No, Izu-Chan, we can't destroy the building!" Kimitsuki responded hurriedly as blasts by Katsuki distracted Izuku on the other side. "Destroying the building isn't in the plan, you know!"
"If you say so!" Izuku said. "I'm going to break it and reach you, okay? You should get out of the way somewhere quickly!" Kimitsuki's eyes widened in realisation.
"No, Izu-Chan!" Kimitsuki gasped. "You can't do that –"
But the radio went out and Kimitsuki looked up with wide eyes when she saw Tenya fighting off attacks by black birds in the Genjutsu. She closed her eyes and released the illusion entirely, bringing them back to the real world. Tenya fell onto his knees, breathing heavily out of shock and relief.
"I'm sorry, Iida-Kun!" Kimitsuki apologised loudly as she moved away from the centre of the room and went rushing around from the corners. "But you need to get out of the way!"
"Tsuki-Chan, now...!"
Kimitsuki grabbed the disoriented male and pulled him out of the way just as the ground beneath them exploded and debris flew everywhere. She stared up in shock when she realised that Izuku had used One for All – and no doubt destroyed his both arms on the way to this. She needed to hurry.
"We're done with the test," Kimitsuki said as she left Tenya aside and rushed toward the nuclear weapon, touching it just seconds before the time went out. "Sensei, we're finished,"
"Indoor person-to-person combat training...
Hero team... wins!"
And Kimitsuki didn't wait for long after that as she hurried over to the hole that Izuku had created in the ground, and she jumped down quickly, using her flames to aid her down to the ground floor. She saw Izuku, heavily injured on his arms, in the debris, and Katsuki, who was still on his feet there.
"I wasn't... going to use it... because I can't use it... because my body can't handle the impact... Aizawa Sensei said so, too... but... this was all... I could think of! S-Someone once told me... You can become a hero... That's why... I'm going to...!"
"Izu-Chan, it's enough, we've gotten through with the test," Kimitsuki said as she hurried to catch him and lay him down on the ground gently. "You got yourself so much hurt,"
However, Izuku had already fallen unconscious by that time. Kimitsuki frowned as she gently moved his hair out of his face and cleaned out his face from the dust. She sighed and pushed herself back up.
"Ka-Chan," Kimitsuki said as she turned to look at her other friend in concern. "Are you –" She halted when she saw the way he was hyperventilating, breathing heavily. "Ka-Chan!"
Kimitsuki hurried over to him, fear gripping her heart as she grabbed his shoulders.
"Ka-Chan, calm down, please," Kimitsuki said, rubbing his arms to get him out of his shock over losing against Izuku. "Ka-Chan, take it easy!"
Katsuki shakily turned to look at the white-haired girl and Kimitsuki swallowed as her eyes met with his red pair. She reached to grab his cheeks, concerned and unsure what to do with him as her own hands shook. She found it easier when dealing with others than those she feared so much for.
"Slow down your breathing," Kimitsuki told him gently, focusing his gaze onto her as she pressed her forehead against his. "Take it slowly... slowly... Ka-Chan... a bit slower... you're doing good..."
Getting her own senses back, Kimitsuki gently and lightly cupped her hand over his lower face to have him breath into it slowly. She could feel his warm breath against her palm and she stroked his hair with her other hand to keep him calm as his breathing slowly returned back to normal again.
"You did great, Ka-Chan," Kimitsuki breathed as she let go of him slowly, eying him to make sure that he had really calmed down. She didn't want him to get angry at her touching his body. "It wasn't a panic attack, Ka-Chan, you were just hyperventilating,"
"Young Bakugo and Young Kuroyanagi,"
At this, Kimitsuki tore her eyes from a still pretty shocked Katsuki and turned to see as All Might walked into the destroyed building. Several robots made their way there, too, and quickly picked up Izuku, who was still passed out. Kimitsuki looked over as a few of them went off to collect Tenya.
"It's time to review the results," All Might told them, putting his hands onto their shoulders. "Whether you win or lose looking back and learning from your experiences is a part of life,"
