? Chapter 15 ?
"Um, it's a vote for me," Kimitsuki mumbled, not quite happy that she had gotten another vote. She turned around to look at the bespectacled man next to her. "And... Sato-Kun... Hagakure-Chan... Kiminari-Kun... Koda-Kun... and yes, that is it, Iida-Kun,"
"I got four votes?!" Izuku exclaimed, his green eyes wide and Kimitsuki glanced at the blackboard to see that both him and her had four votes to themselves. She grabbed her face, absolutely done.
This is the last thing I wanted...
"Why Deku?!" Katsuki shouted, jumping up in his seat when he noticed that Kimitsuki hadn't been the only one to get four votes. "Who voted for him?!"
"Well, it's better than voting for you," Hanta pointed out. "Either him or Kuroyanagi-Chan," His cheeks turned pink and it dawned on Kimitsuki that he was one of her votes, too.
"What did you say?!" Katsuki shouted.
"Ka-Chan, please settle down," Kimitsuki said quietly but firmly as she turned to look at him. Katsuki met her lilac eyes in defiance but sat down when she narrowed them, a glint appearing in her eyes.
Kimitsuki and that Sensei...
they're both similar when it comes to their eyes.
"Whatever," Katsuki grunted and sat down, crossing his arms with a huff as he looked away from them all. Kimitsuki let out a low sigh and looking away from him.
"Zero votes..." Tenya muttered, wallowing in depression. Kimitsuki sweat-dropped, feeling bad for him. "I knew that would happen... That is only to be expected of a person's calling,"
"You voted for someone else, huh?" Momo asked.
"But you wanted to do it, too," Rikido said. "What are you trying to do, Iida?"
"I'm sorry, I should've realised you wanted to be the Class Rep, Iida-Kun," Kimitsuki said apologetically, causing Katsuki to huff in annoyance. "I would've voted for you, you're diligent,"
"Kuroyanagi," Aizawa interjected and Kimitsuki turned to look down at his sleeping bag. He sat up in in to his head could be seen over the desk. "Have you finished?" She nodded. "Right, then both Kuroyanagi and Midoriya are the Class Reps,"
"Um, Sensei, may I please pass up on my title?" Kimitsuki asked, wanting to give up before Katsuki made fun of her again. But Katsuki turned to look at her angrily.
"No," Aizawa replied. "Unless it was a Genjutsu, I mentioned that you need to learn to speak up and lead people. You promised to do well. This is an opportunity to learn. Don't tell me you think this little of those who voted for you?" Kimitsuki flushed pink.
"Y-Yes, Sensei, you're right," Kimitsuki replied, bowing her head in apology. She glanced at Katsuki and noticed he was looking at her blankly. "I will do my best from here on out,"
"Midoriya, come to the front and show your face," Aizawa said.
"S-S-Seriously?" Izuku stammered, his eyes wide as he walked over to where his best friend was, his knees shaking horribly. "Seriously...?"
"It'll be okay, Izu-Chan, don't be so scared," Kimitsuki said kindly, though even she was a bit concerned about leading heroes-in-training and someone like Katsuki. "I'm sure... it'll be okay,"
"That might not be too bad," Tsuyu said, looking at the two of them curiously.
"After all's said and done, Midoriya can be pretty fired up, anyway!" Eijirou exclaimed. "And Kimitsuki's shy – but she did score the best in the finals, entrance and quirk apprehension!"
?
When they got their free period, Kimitsuki got up and excused herself from the class so she could go and meet with Aizawa. She felt strange as she walked down the corridor on her own, but she tried to assure herself everything was okay. It was just her homeroom teacher wanting to have a talk with her. It has happened so many times before in middle school, too.
But her middle school homeroom teacher wasn't a Pro-Hero.
Kimitsuki reached the faculty room and reached over to knock on the door, "Excuse me," She slipped into the room quietly and looked around to see where Aizawa was and hurried over to his desk.
"Right, Kuroyanagi," Aizawa said, noticing her. "Sit down," He motioned to a stool and Kimitsuki sat down, her back straight and hands folded over her lap. "Your visual Quirk – explain to me in your words,"
"Yes, Sensei," Kimitsuki replied, taking a breath. "Um, I'm able to –"
"Start over," Aizawa interrupted her, and Kimitsuki looked at him in confusion. "No 'Um' or 'Uh' – be more assertive," She nodded quickly, realising what he meant. "Explain,"
"Yes, Sensei," Kimitsuki said carefully. "I'm able can identify Quirks, use Black Flames, mimic physical behaviour of individuals – and able to anticipate it moments before they do it by their muscle tension. I can create a little bit of shields to protect myself and use Genjutsu on people,"
"You mentioned your most elusive ability last," Aizawa droned on, looking at her with a flat expression. "Beside mimicking movement and identifying Quirks and creating flames, you should first and foremost focus on your Genjutsu ability. Elaborate on your shield,"
"U – yes, Sensei," Kimitsuki replied. "I can create a shield around my body – but isn't quite as strong as most shield heroes, and it also causes intense pain in every cell of my body, which only increases over time of usage as well as at higher developmental stages. I try... not to use it often,"
"Hm," Aizawa said as he flicked through some stack of paper, and she realised it was her school documents. "Are you able to wear goggles or any eyewear with your Quirk?"
"No," Kimitsuki answered. "I can't use my Quirk is it obstructed by any object – and it is difficult to use when I have glasses or sunglasses on... I can't use it with blindfolds, either,"
"Right, that's out of question," Aizawa said, and Kimitsuki looked at him in wonder. "Usually optical heroes have eyewear to avoid having their opponent catching onto their line of sight,"
"That's why you also wear those goggles, Sensei?" Kimitsuki asked. Aizawa gave a short nod as he continued to look at her documents. "I always wondered that,"
"Do you have any giveaways to your Quirk?" Aizawa inquired. "Tell me each and every physical change in your body when you activate your Quirk,"
"Yes, Sensei," Kimitsuki said. "My eyes turn darker in colour and gain three tomoe around the pupil. They also glow the same purple colour, especially in the dark. If I've taken over my opponent's mind in order to control them, then they may gain those tomoe in their eyes as well,"
Aizawa was quiet for a moment as he processed everything that she had told him.
"You've got it a bit easy with your flames to defend against individuals," Aizawa said, turning to look at her finally. "But in order to make it easy with your visual Quirk, I will be personally training you with this capture weapon,"
Kimitsuki looked at the scarf he was holding up to show her – the same one that he used.
"It's specially made from carbon fibre metal alloy," Aizawa told her. "It took me up to six years to develop and master this style – but with your copying Quirk and my supervision, you'll be able to learn quicker. It'll serve as a precaution for Mutant-type Quirk users, as you can't copy Quirks or keep up physically against Mutant Quirks,"
"Yes, Sensei, thank you," Kimitsuki said as she gently felt the material of the scarf. She looked back at her homeroom teacher. "When will we start with the training?"
"Next week," Aizawa replied. "You'll be informed about it. Until then, you're dismissed," Kimitsuki nodded and stood up from the stool.
"Excuse me," Kimitsuki said, bowing deeply to the teacher.
Kimitsuki straightened up and walked out of the faculty room, feeling like she had just left a doctor's clinic. She was feeling quite happy that Aizawa had shown so much interest into her Quirk already. It felt great that not only All Might but Eraseread was also going to help train her to become a better hero. Seeing so many people looking out for her, Kimitsuki knew that she will have to work hard, too.
?
Lunch Rush's Eatery:
"Thank you very much," Kimitsuki said to Lunch Rush as she received her tray of lunch at the cafeteria, bowing her head in gratitude. She turned to look at Izuku, Ochaco and Tenya, waiting for them to get their food before they picked out a table to sit at.
The four of them found themselves a table in the middle of the cafeteria where four seats were open, aside from the ones taken up by some seniors. Kimitsuki sat down next to her best friend.
As Ochaco and Tenya sat across from them, Kimitsuki noticed the senior next to her look at her with wide eyes and she looked away quickly, looking down at her own food, embarrassed.
"Be more assertive,"
Kimitsuki looked back and moved the long bangs that she had used to hide her face away. She glanced back at the senior, who was still peering in her direction in curiosity, and she forced herself to nod, giving him a small smile – it made him turn away quickly and she turned to her own friends.
"There are a lot of people today, too!" Ochaco said as she looked around the place, settling down in the seat across from Kimitsuki, who nodded lightly.
"That's because everyone in the hero course, support course, and management course meets in the same place," Tenya informed them, and Kimitsuki wondered if he studied up on the school, too.
"The rice is so delicious!" Ochaco exclaimed, taking a bite of her lunch. She turned to look at the white-haired girl. "Kimitsuki-Chan, what did Aizawa Sensei want from you?"
"Um," Kimitsuki said before flushing and fixing her speech. "Sensei wanted to discuss my Quirk with me. He was interested in how it worked. He's going to help me with bettering it and learn other methods that will aid me during battle,"
"Whoa, Sensei is going to personally train you?" Ochaco asked, in awe. "I'm jealous! That sounds a lot of fun! Both Aizawa Sensei and you have similar Quirks, huh? Your eyes glow,"
"Aizawa Sensei must have seen a lot of potential in you, Kuroyanagi-Kun, I'm envious," Tenya said seriously. "You seem to be a very reliable person! Nothing less to be expected of the number one student!"
"It's nothing like that, Iida-Kun," Kimitsuki replied, sweat-dropping at his reaction. She turned to look at her friend, who had remained quiet. "Is everything okay, Izu-Chan?"
"Hm?" Izuku asked, oblivious to the conversation going on around him, and Kimitsuki knew that something heavy was weighing on him if he wasn't asking her all sorts of questions.
"Izu-Chan," Kimitsuki said softly as she turned to look at him closely, and Izuku met eyes with her. "You're worried about your position as the Class Representative, aren't you?"
"Tsuki-Chan..." Izuku trailed off before sighing, knowing she could read him like the back of her hand. "It's that... even though I've been chosen as class rep, I don't know if I'm qualified for it,"
"You are," Tenya told the green-haired male. "It'll be fine. Your courage and judgment at critical moments make you worth following. That is why I voted for you,"
"It was you?" Izuku asked.
"But didn't you want to be class rep, too, Iida-Kun?" Ochaco asked, turning to look at Tenya next. "With glasses and everything,"
"Wanting to do it and being suitable for it are different issues," Tenya replied as diligently as always. "I merely did what I judged to be correct,"
"That's right – wait, 'boku'?" Kimitsuki asked as she stared the blue-haired male. "Um, I mean, you usually refer to yourself as 'ore'. It makes you sound diligent, but 'boku'..." She giggled. "It's like Iida-Kun suddenly turned into a little boy,"
"It's nothing like that, Kuroyanagi-Kun!" Tenya said and Kimitsuki chuckled slightly as she took a bite of her food. He, however, was as embarrassed as she usually was and blushed. "That's..."
"I've been thinking..." Ochaco spoke up conspiratorially. "... are you a rich boy, Iida-Kun?"
"Rich...!" Tenya said, taken aback momentarily but quickly gained back his dignity as he fixed his glasses. "I tried to change how I talk because I didn't want to be called that,"
Kimitsuki, Izuku and Ochaco all stared at him intently.
"Yes, my family has been heroes for generations," Tenya confessed, giving into their insistent stares, his posture wavering slightly. "I'm the second son,"
"What?!" Izuku and Ochaco echoed. "Wow!"
Even Kimitsuki was surprised and impressed by this sudden revelation. Tenya did look like he came from a good family – given how diligent he was and how he went to private middle school. In front of them, Tenya puffed out his chest proudly at their fascination.
"Do you know the Turbo Hero, Ingenium?" Tenya asked.
"Of course!" Izuku answered. "He's a really popular hero who has 65 sidekicks working at his Tokyo agency!" His eyes widened when he realised what Tenya was eluding to. "Don't tell me –!"
"He is my elder brother!" Tenya told them all, proud.
"He's telling us straight out!" Ochaco yelped.
"That's amazing!" Izuku shouted.
"Amazing," Kimitsuki breathed.
"He is a likable hero who honours the rules and leads people," Tenya said. "I set my sights on being a hero because I want to be like my brother. However, I think it is still too soon for me to lead others. Unlike me, Midoriya realised the point of the practical portion of the entrance exam, so he is more suitable for the job,"
"Ah, is that so?" Kimitsuki asked, before she noticed something peculiar with Tenya. "You know, this might be the first I've ever seen Iida-Kun smile,"
"What, really?" Tenya said as he turned to look at her. "I smile!"
"About the entrance exam..." Izuku started but was immediately cut off by the sound of the alarm going on, causing all of them to look up. "An alarm?!"
"There has been a Level 3 security breach.
All students please evacuate outdoors promptly,"
"What's 'Level 3 security'?" Tenya asked as he turned to look at the senior, who had been sitting next to him, and Kimitsuki looked over as well, concerned.
"It means someone is trespassing on school grounds!" the student replied, sounding quite panicked. "I've never seen anything like this in the three years I've been here! You should hurry, too!"
It was then Kimitsuki noticed the sheer commotion going on around them as all the students began to rush toward the four exists that led outside of the cafeteria – and it didn't take the corridors to become overwhelmed by the mass of students heading that way. There was no way she wanted to go in such a crowded place, she had mild claustrophobia but only when it came to people.
"Come on, Kuroyanagi-Kun!" Tenya said as he and Ochaco grabbed her arms, pulling her along toward the nearby exits. "We should all listen to what we're being instructed,"
"Um, I don't think we should go in there," Kimitsuki said, her lilac eyes wide as they were pulled into the corridor and before long, they were stuck halfway through. "We shouldn't have come here,"
"Don't push!"
"Wait, I'm falling!"
"I said, don't push! Ow!"
Kimitsuki was having a difficult time breathing as she tried to keep upright and not trip – it was the last thing she wanted to be stuck in – the bodies of dozens of students pushing and pulling. She tried to wrap her arms around herself to avoid feeling people smacking into her body.
"What's going on all of a sudden?" Ochaco asked.
"As expected of the best of the best!" Tenya exclaimed. "Everyone reacts quickly in a crisis!"
"Th-They're so quick that it's causing a panic!" Izuku choked out as he tried to squeeze over to them. "Oh, shoot!" the crowd had sent him flowing behind them.
"Midoriya-Kun!"
"Deku-Kun!"
"Izu-Chan!"
But it wasn't only Izuku who was separated from them – both Kimitsuki and Ochaco found themselves detach from Tenya and the swarm of students sent them off to opposite directions. Kimitsuki tried to squeeze herself through the crowd and toward the window to get out of the way.
"Ka-Chan!"
Somehow, Katsuki had come flowing into the crowd right where she had hoped to end up in, and Kimitsuki barely stopped in the crowd as she reached him. Katsuki turned to look at her, grimacing.
"Ka-Chan, did you get stuck in here, too?" Kimitsuki asked and Katsuki rolled his eyes at her rhetorical questions and that stupid nickname. He turned to retort but saw her expression –
Kimitsuki, despite trying to keep herself calm, was freaking out. He could see her eyes constantly wide, her breathing shallow and she was continuously flinching. His red eyes trailed down and noticed the hands brushing against her back and he narrowed his eyes. She had started to shake now and Katsuki remembered that she had a tough time in crowds of people – and he recalled that, being a dumbass, he had forgotten this about her when he had left her with those media sharks.
"Get in here," Katsuki grunted, grabbing her arm and pulling her around his arm and toward the window before he turned around and placed his arms on her either side, caving her in. "Stay there,"
"Thank you, Ka-Chan," Kimitsuki muttered, her hands pressed against his chest to keep them from squishing against each other. Katsuki rolled his eyes at her.
"I don't need your thanks," Katsuki responded and Kimitsuki ignored it, looking around the place. "Who the hell trespassed and why haven't they killed them yet?"
"I think it was the media," Kimitsuki said, looking over her shoulder to see the reporters standing outside the gates, along with Aizawa and Present Mic. "It is the media, huh?"
"Those teachers need to blow them up!" Katsuki growled as he got pushed up into her, telling out all sorts of curses that made Kimitsuki blush and smack his chest.
"Watch your language, especially around me, Ka-Chan," Kimitsuki told him, pretty frustrated with him. "I really don't like how crass you are sometimes,"
"Or what?" Katsuki asked immediately. "Are you going to tell on me, Class Rep?" Kimitsuki glared at him and looked away. "Who will you tell? The homeroom teacher or my mother?"
"I'll punish you myself," Kimitsuki responded as he was pushed further into her, trying to keep her away from people and she blushed when she felt her chest press against him. "Ka-Chan, I'm –"
But above her, Katsuki was having his own struggles as his face turned red at her words and actions. He didn't care to look at her as she muttered about whatever – as long as she was out of the way of people touching her, he was sure she would do okay. He, however, was getting more and more frustrated as he tried to hold himself back from yelling and blasting the people around them away.
There was no way he could use his Explosive Quirk without indiscriminately hurting Kimitsuki, and as much as he was sure he disliked her, there was no way he was going to attempt that right now.
"Wait, someone fell!"
"Don't push!"
Katsuki glanced down at Kimitsuki, who was still pressed uncomfortably against his chest, and he grimaced out a blush. That terrible scent of her was overwhelming his sense and he felt it get to his head, putting him that sleepy high. He wanted to tell her to tell her off for using it all the time –
There was no way he was going to put that stupid pitifully despondent expression on her face from the morning. He had already tried to make it up to her by voting her as the Class Representative.
Hesitating for a moment, Katsuki slowly raised his hand to put it behind her head to calm her down but stopped when he noticed the white ribbon that was tying her long white hair back.
Even though Katsuki had given her that ribbon to put her hair back and show more of her face – and be able to see – the idiot had grown her bangs out a bit too much to hide her face and eyes.
Remembering that she was still in front of him, Katsuki moved his hand over to grab the back of her hair but he had barely touched her hair when there was a loud smack, causing them all to look up. Katsuki lowered his head and followed Kimitsuki's lilac gaze to see Tenya smacked against the wall above the exit sign, looking rather funny in his posture.
"Everyone, everything is fine!" Tenya called out for everyone to listen. "It is just the media! There is nothing to panic about! Everything is fine! This is U.A.! Let us act in a way befitting the best of the best!"
"The police are here!"
"Oh, good,"
"Oh, that's a relief," Kimitsuki muttered against Katsuki's chest. "I'm glad Iida-Kun did some quick-thinking – he must've asked Uraraka-Chan to make him float," Katsuki grimaced, looking away.
?
? Chapter 16 ?
Kimitsuki and Izuku found themselves back in front of the class quicker than either of them had expected to – it had been a long day and Kimitsuki wanted everything to be over quickly. She turned to face the class and bowed deeply to them; her hands folded over her stomach as she did so.
"Everyone," Kimitsuki acknowledged them. "Midoriya Izuku," She motioned toward Izuku. "And I, Kuroyanagi Kimitsuki have been voted by some of you as the Class Representatives. Although I believe we can all work together in harmony, I will handle any and all matters related to the girls and Izu-Chan will do the same for the boys – so, if there is something personal or otherwise matters, you may come to us for advice. We're not only here to lead you, but to advice and stand by you,"
"That's neat!" Hanta said, waving his arm over. "You're pretty good at this, Kuroyanagi-Chan!" Kimitsuski blushed at his words, hiding her face slightly behind her bangs and Katsuki huffed.
"Thank you, Sero-Kun," Kimitsuki thanked him, ignoring Katsuki's behaviour. She turned to look at Izuku. "Next, Class Representative Midoriya also has something to say,"
Quite honestly, Kimitsuki had only offered this so Izuku could speak up a bit, too.
"N-Now, let us decide on the other class officers..." Izuku spluttered out of shyness and then turned to look at Kimitsuki. "But first can I say something first, Tsuki-Chan?"
"Um, of course," Kimitsuki replied, having a bit of an idea what he was going to do. "Please, go ahead, Izu-Chan," She motioned him to continue.
"I think that Iida Tenya should be the class rep after all!" Izuku said loudly and assertively. "He was able to get everyone's attention in such a cool way. I think it would be best for Iida-Kun to do it,"
For a moment, there was stunned silence in the classroom.
"I'm good with that, too," Eijirou spoke up, breaking the silence. "Midoriya's saying it and it's true that Iida was a big help at the cafeteria today,"
"Yeah..." Denki agreed. "... and he kind of looked like the person on the emergency exit signs, didn't he?" He grinned. "After their match, I bet Kuroyanagi-Chan will keep him in line, too!"
"It's nothing like that, Kaminari-Kun," Kimitsuki responded, her cheeks blossoming even more. "Um, let us continue on from here..."
"You're wasting time," Aizawa suddenly spoke up, sitting up in his sleeping bag, scaring Izuku, who hid behind Kimitsuki quickly. "I don't care what you do, just hurry up and do it,"
"Yes, Sensei," Kimitsuki answered quickly and sweat-dropped when Aizawa just dropped back onto the ground, in his sleeping bag. "He's really unique..."
"If the class rep has nominated me, then it cannot be helped," Tenya said, standing up in his seat. "From this day forth, I, Iida Tenya, promise to do my best to carry out the duties of class representative!"
"We're counting on you, Emergency Exit!" Eijirou exclaimed. "You'll work well with Kuroyanagi-Chan, we'll rely on you two from now on!"
"Oh, I'm jealous, emergency Exit Iida!" Denki said, looking at the two of them. "Do your best, both of you!" Kimitsuki smiled gently at all of them.
Never before had people looked forward to her leadership or position as the class representative. It warmed her heart immensely, and she turned to smile at Tenya, too, holding her hand up in a fist, "Let's do our best, Iida-Kun,"
Katsuki eyed the two of them with distaste, now thoroughly annoyed that he voted for Kimitsuki and made her a class representative alongside that strange idiot. Izuku had been annoying enough already. And now this... Katsuki huffed out in annoyance and removed his eyes away from them.
PM 0:50:
"For today's hero basic training," Aizawa said lazily as he finally let go of his yellow sleeping's warm embrace and took the desk in front of his class. "It's turned into a class with three instructors, All Might and me, and one more person,"
"Excuse me!" Hanta spoke up as he raised his hand. Kimitsuki knew he was going to ask the question on everyone's mind – "What will we be doing?"
"Disasters, shipwrecks, and everything in between," Aizawa replied as he held up a card with the word 'Rescue' written in colourful letters. "It's rescue training,"
"Rescue..." Denki repeated, trailing off for a moment before turned to look at Mina with a wide grin, "Looks like it'll be a lot of work this time, too,"
"Right?" Mina responded, equally excited.
"Idiot, this is the duty of a hero!" Eijirou said from the back, his own teeth showing as he grinned. "My arms are ready to rumble!"
"No one can beat me in water, ribbit," Tsuyu spoke up.
"Hey, I'm not done," Aizawa interjected, catching their attention. "You can decide if you want to wear your costume or not this time. Because there are probably costumes that limit your abilities, too. The training will take place off-campus, so we're taking a bus. That is all. Start getting ready,"
Aizawa brought their lockers out for them and left the classroom, leaving the students to get their clothes out and then change at the changing rooms before they all regrouped outside by the bus.
Kimitsuki contemplated for a moment and then decided that she would like to change into her costume. It was pretty adaptable in any kind of setting. She took out her black costume and sword, joining the rest of the girls as they walked off to change into their costumes in the locker room.
One by one they finished changing and headed out to where the school buses were. Kimitsuki walked quickly over to where Izuku and Ochaco were, discussing Izuku's choice of clothing.
"Oh, you're wearing your P.E. clothes," Ochaco was saying to the green-haired male dressed in his school P.E uniform. "Where's your costume?"
"They got ripped up during the combat training," Izuku replied sheepishly. "So, I'm waiting for the support company to fix it," He noticed Kimitsuki. "Tsuki-Chan, you're here!"
"I hope you get your costume back soon," Kimitsuki said gently, but then her eyes fell on Minoru standing nearby, leering at her chest. She sighed and narrowed her eyes at him.
Minoru's eyes slowly trailed all the way up her body and when he finally met eyes with her glowing purple orbs – at which he let out a small yelp and scurried off away from there. She shook her head and switched her Quirk off, looking away from where he had been standing and she noticed Katsuki make his way out of the school building. He stopped when they met eyes and Kimitsuki just stared.
There was so much strange tension between them by now that Kimitsuki felt like she could cut through it with her sword quite easily. However, something told her not to disturb this tension.
Whistle!
"Class 1-A, gather around!" Tenya called out to them, lowering his whistle. "Form two lines by your student numbers in order to make boarding the bus go smoothly!"
"Um, Iida-Kun," Kimitsuki said, a bit uncertain as she looked over at him. "I don't think the buses are designed that way..." She glanced back at Katsuki.
If they went along with their student numbers,
then she will definitely have to sit with him.
I don't want to over indulge with him...
And as the bus arrived, Tenya realised that Kimitsuki had been right about the vehicle not being like how he had imagined it. Kimitsuki gave him an assuring pat on the arm as she got into the bus with others. It was an open bus with the middle having seats lining along the windows rather than columns. She walked over to the portion where there was standard seating, and sat down.
Katsuki strutted into the bus and then made a face when he saw the seat open next to Kimitsuki. He glanced at Minoru, who was hurrying to sit down next to the white-haired girl and tripped him, grunting at how his behaviour was similar to the losers in cafeteria corridor. He sat down heavily.
Kimitsuki blinked, confused that Katsuki had willingly sat down next to her but didn't make a scene out of it. She felt like that although their paths were parallel, the paths were completely different. She looked back ahead as Tenya, Mina, Yuga and Denki sat down on the seats against the window.
Izuku entered the bus and was slightly shocked to see Kimitsuki and Katsuki sitting together – with the ash-blond supporting his usual grumpy expression while white-haired girl simply smiled at him.
Together with Eijirou, Tsuyu and Rikido, Izuku sat down on the remaining seats against the window.
"Shoot, I didn't think it'd be this type of bus," Tenya said, sounding rather embarrassed.
"There was no point, huh?" Mina said.
"It's okay, Iida-Kun," Kimitsuki interjected, smiling gently at him. "We all have moments like these... let's do better next time," She held up a fist.
"You're right, Kuroyanagi-Kun!" Tenya agreed quickly, and Katsuki rolled his eyes, removing his eyes off the face of the girl sitting next to him.
"I say whatever comes to mind," Tsuyu spoke up suddenly, and then she turned to look at the green-haired male next to her. "Midoriya-Chan..."
"Um, yes, Asui-San?" Izuku asked, a bit flustered.
"Call me 'Tsu-Chan'," Tsuyu replied, causing Izuku to blush slightly as he heeded to her request. "Your Quirk is like All Might's,"
"Huh?!" Izuku asked. "Y-Y-You think so? But I'm... uh..."
"Wait a second, Tsu-Chan," Eijirou interjected. "All Might doesn't get hurt when he uses his. They just kind of look the same," He looked at Kimitsuki. "You can see Quirks, right, Kuroyanagi-Chan?"
"Um, in a way, yes," Kimitsuki replied softly. "I can see your Quirk and where it is concentrated or being concentrated. Everyone has a specific colour... so when I see them – I can identify them,"
"That's so cool," Eijirou exclaimed. "So, what do you see when you look at All Might and Midoriya? Do they have a similar Quirk...?" Kimitsuki shrugged.
"Not quite," Kimitsuki answered, obviously keeping up the lie. "All Might is filled with bright golden colour, and Izu-Chan has a more... Charteuse colour. If I were to recognise them, they both have augmenting-type Quirk,"
"I thought it was something like that," Eijirou said, nodding. "It's nice to have a simple augmenting-type Quirk. You can do lots of flashy stuff! My Hardening's strong against others, but unfortunately, it doesn't look like much,"
"I think it's really cool!" Izuku said, his eyes wide as sausers when Eijirou hardened his arm to show off his Quirk. "It's a Quirk that can definitely pass as a pro's!"
"A pro's, huh?" Eijirou replied as he looked at the green-haired boy, looking pretty happy. "But you have to think about popularity as a hero, too, you know,"
"I actually agree with Izu-Chan," Kimitsuki said quickly. "Kirishima-Kun's Quirk reminds me of the Chivalrous Hero: Crimson Riot... I think you can go very far as a Pro-Hero," She smiled at him.
"You think so?" Eijirou asked, his cheeks slightly red as he looked at the white-haired girl. Kimitsuki nodded in reply. "Thanks a lot, Kuroyanagi-Kun! I think your Quirk is pretty good, too!"
"I agree!" Hanta said from the back. "It's very cool!" Kimitsuki blushed. "You should see her in action – what she did with Iida was just a teaser. Her black flames are really amazing!"
"Kuroyanagi-Kun's Genjutsu..." Tenya said and shuddered slightly, causing the girl to smile apologetically. "It was inspiring and terrifying at the same time..." Kimitsuki sweat-dropped. "I have never experienced something like that before,"
"You haven't ever talked about what you really saw, have you?" Denki asked.
"What did she show you?!" Minoru shouted, his thoughts the foulest and Kimitsuki sighed, a bit annoyed but ignored him as Tenya fixed his glasses –
"My Navel Laser is pro-level in both flashiness and strength," Yuga bragged suddenly.
"But it's not great that it gives you a stomach-ache," Mina spoke up as she placed a hand on the blond's shoulder and Yuga was struck over his head.
"Well, if you're talking about flashy and strong," Eijirou said, looking at the ash-blond next to Kimitsuki. "It's gotta be Todoroki and Bakugou, though, huh?"
"Bakugo-Chan's always mad, so he doesn't seem like he'll be popular, though," Tsuyu said as she looked at the said male. Kimitsuki sighed, knowing that –
"What the hell!" Katsuki shouted as he stood up in his seat. "You wanna fight?!" Kimitsuki flinched at how loud he was being and her Quirk automatically activated to keep an eye on him.
"See?" Tsuyu asked.
"We haven't known each other that long," Denki commented. "So, it's amazing that everyone already knows his personality is crap steeped in sewage,"
"What's with that vocabulary, bastard?!" Katsuki exploded. "I'll kill you!"
"Ka-Chan, Kaminari-Kun!" Kimitsuki said incredulously as she stood up as well. Katsuki turned to look at her angrily and she flashed her glowing eyes at him. "Sit down,"
Katsuki made a sound reminiscent of a feral dog as he went to sit but Kimitsuki grabbed his shoulders and pushed him down, settling him back into his seat. He looked outraged but she didn't care – she didn't want people to think that one of her childhood friends as some sort of 'villain'.
"Kaminari-Kun, Asui-Chan, I apologise for his words," Kimitsuki said, looking at them. "But as we're all now classmates, let's not instigate or use such vocabulary for each other,"
"Sorry, Kuroyanagi-Chan," Tsuyu said. "Call me Tsu-Chan,"
"Sorry about that, Kuroyanagi-Chan," Denki agreed as well, rubbing the back of his head. He didn't want to go through her Quirk possibly, but he was more in awe at how she controlled Katsuki.
Kimitsuki sat back down in her seat, switching her Quirk off as she glanced at Katsuki from the corner of her eyes. He was sitting there with his sour expression. She wasn't happy about scolding him in front of everyone – she knew that he didn't like that. But she knew that she couldn't allow him to go around being like this. Not when he himself was the one who voted her for this position.
Maybe because he was her childhood friend or maybe because his sour expression looked endearing to Kimitsuki at times but she wished she could be a bit gentle with him. But she couldn't afford to do that – even though everything had changed after the three of them had entered U. A. High School.
Izuku was gaining confidence, Kimitsuki was getting over her insecurity, and Katsuki was... getting a bit strange. She was worried for him, quite genuinely, despite whatever was between them before.
Eying Katuki's tense body, Kimitsuki wished that she could talk to him or reach for him but that was stupid. He would smack her hand away from him faster than she could say his nickname.
"We're here," Aizawa interjected into her thoughts, and Kimitsuki looked up to see him standing at the head of the bus. He ran his eyes on all of his students, and then, "Stop messing around,"
"Yes, Sensei!"
Everyone was suddenly alert and excited for what was coming up for them. Kimitsuki looked out of the bus window and noticed that they were approaching a rather large dome-shaped building.
The bus came to a stop, and one by one all the students piled out of it behind their homeroom teacher. Kimitsuki was still looking around as she followed them, her lips parted in intrigue. She almost ran into Katsuki's back but Izuku grabbed her arm, pulling stopping her in her steps.
"Everyone, I have been waiting for you,"
Kimitsuki looked up and saw that they were all gathered in front of a woman dressed in a white, puffy costume that resembled a space suit, black helmet with white eyes and a pair of yellow boots.
"It's the Space Hero, Thirteen!" Izuku freaked out from next to Kimitsuki. "The gentlemanly hero who has rescued tons of people from disasters!"
"Oh, I love Thirteen!" Ochaco exclaimed.
"Let's go inside without delay," Thirteen said to the students and motioning to the dome-shaped building behind her, and Kimitsuki looked up to see what it said –
U. S. J.
All the students looked at each other in excitement and back at the Space Hero: Thirteen quickly –
"Look forward to working with you!"
Joining the others, Kimitsuki followed Aizawa and Thirteen into the building through a large blue gate. She looked around the training facility as they came to a stop by the entrance overlooking the central plaza. There were six zones around the plaza, to serve as training grounds for disasters –
Ruins zone, landslide zone, mountain zone, conflagration zone, flood zone, downpour zone.
"Woooow!" Eijirou exclaimed excitedly as he looked around the place with everyone. "It looks like USJ! Universal Studios Japan!" Thirteen turned to look at them.
"A shipwreck... a landslide... a fire... a windstorm et cetera," Thirteen introduced the location to them. "It is a training ground that I made with different types of accidents and disasters. It's called the 'Unforeseen Simulation Joint,' or 'USJ' for short!"
"Thirteen-San," Aizawa said as he walked over to the Rescue Heroine, looking around the place carefully. "Where's All Might? He was supposed to meet us here,"
Kimitsuki eyed them as Thirteen walked closer to him to whisper – and as she had learned from years of reading lips with her Quirk, Kimitsuki easily noted that conversation that was going on between them. She needed not to even activate her Quirk as she observed their lips –
"About that..." Thirteen was saying. "It looks like he did too much hero work on his way to work and ran out of time... so, he's resting in the lounge,"
"It can't be helped," Aizawa replied finally. "Shall we begin?" He allowed Thirteen to turn back to face the students while he himself walked off to the side to wait.
"Let's see," Thirteen said. "Before we begin, let me say one thing, or two... three... four ...five ... six... seven... it's increasing...! Everyone, I am sure you are aware of my Quirk, Black Hole. I can suck up anything and turn it to dust,"
"You have been able to use that Quirk to save people from all kinds of disasters, right?" Izuku spoke up, noting things he knew from his own experience and from what Kimitsuki had gathered.
"Yes," Thirteen replied. "But it is a power that can kill easily. Some of you also have Quirks like that, right? In a superhuman society, personal Quirks have been certified and stringently regulated, so that doesn't seem to be a problem at first glance.
"However, please do not forget that there are many Quirks that can easily kill with one wrong step. With Aizawa-San's physical fitness test, you found out about the possibility of your own hidden powers. And with All Might's person-to-person combat training, I think you experienced the danger of using those powers against others,"
Kimitsuki was looking forward to that – she felt very grateful that she had the opportunity to meet such insightful teachers. She was suddenly glad that she had decided to apply to U. A. High. With All Might's strength training, with Aizawa's upcoming mentorship and with Thirteen's understanding...
There's a lot Kimitsuki could learn.
"This class is a fresh start," Thirteen said. "You shall learn how to use your Quirks to save people's lives. You do not have powers so you can harm others. I hope you leave here with the understanding that you have powers in order to help others. That is all. Thank you for listening,"
"That was wonderful!"
"Bravo! Bravo!"
As the more vocal of the students cheered at what Thirteen was saying, Kimitsuki lightly clapped in agreement as well, smiling. She looked to her left at Katsuki but he was just standing there idly.
"All right then," Aizawa spoke up, turning to look at his students. Kimitsuki quickly straightened up, much like her classmates. "First –"
Just then, there was loud crackling sound that caused the white-haired girl to look up at the dome ceiling, and she noticed electricity spark out of the electronical objects and wiring running along. She wondered what had malfunctioned like this and when she turned to look at Aizawa for answers, she noticed something entirely different going on behind him.
There was a strange portal opening by the fountain in the central plaza.
