-Chapter 4 - Electric Rodent-
As we went up further ahead, we could see a blob of yellow in the distance.
"Is that a Pokémon?"
Red gasped out, pointing his finger at the yellow blob.
"Seems so..."
Pikachu...
I stared intently at the yellow mouse, while it was standing there alone.
Then three old men appeared, and ran towards the small Pokémon, cornering it.
"We got you cornered now, you little pest!! This is the last time you'll ever steal our produce!"
One of the old men yell.
Then Pikachu suddenly sent out a discharge around him.
"Aaaaaaaaahhh!!"
Shouts could be heard, as the light faded.
We then see the three old men laying down on the ground, no Pikachu could be seen.
"Ergh... That little pest got away again..."
One of them said, muttering out in pain.
"Hahahahaha! I can't watch this anymore. Now where did that Pokémon run off to?"
Red laughed as we went passed by the old men.
Haa.. Kinda feel bad for them...
I thought, as my eyes roamed towards their lying bodies.
"Why don't we go to the Pokémon Center first?"
I suggested as I looked at our Pokéballs.
Back at the Viridian Forest, we were battling all types of Bug Catchers just to get here, especially the battle between Red and Green.
"Sure, but first we need to find the Pokémon."
I looked at him, sighing before nodding my head.
"All right."
We then continued to walk, exploring the city when suddenly, a small Pokémon came out from the PokéMart.
"It's him!"
Red pointed his finger at the Pikachu.
He then ran off towards the Pokémon's direction.
A man then came out from the Pokémart with a fumed expression, as I ran towards Red.
"You little rodent!! How dare you steal from me!!"
The man shouted at the small Pokémon.
"(See ya!!/Pika!!)"
With that, Pikachu ran off with a satisfied smile, with his loot.
"Get back here!!"
He shouted angrily.
He then turned towards us with a scornful look.
"Who are you two? Is that your Pikachu?"
"Nope, we're just regular trainers."
So that Pokémon was a stray Pikachu...
Red thought.
"Oh... I'm sorry for accusing you two. That Pikachu's been stealing stuff from everyone in Pewter City. It's getting to the point of frustration now. Can you do all the citizens in Pewter City a favour and get rid of that Pikachu?"
The shop clerk pleads to us.
Instead of getting rid of it, why didn't you tried to adopt it instead? But... Meh, it's for the plot after all.
I thought.
"Sure, just leave it to us."
Red slung his arm around my shoulder, while giving the shop clerk a promising smile.
We then looked for the Pikachu around Pewter City, until eventually, I've got fed up with all the acting of feigning ignorance.
"Why don't we search for the Pikachu around the corner in Pewter City Flower Garden?"
He then looked at me with a mystefied face.
"Huh? Why there?"
"Just trust me okay? I have a good feeling he's right there.."
He nodded his head and we went towards the flower garden, and heard strange noises coming around the corner.
We then saw the yellow Pokémon, idling around the corner.
Red ran towards the direction of the Pokémon at a fast pace.
"Your mine, Pikachu."
Red said, confidently.
"(As if!/Pika!)"
The Pokémon smirked.
"Come on out, Bulbasaur!"
Red took out his pokéball and sent out sweet little bulbasaur.
(Fr, bulbasaur is so cute ()/)
"(Heh?!/Pika?!)"
Pikachu looked so surprise at the Pokémon.
The two Pokémon then engaged themselves in a battle lock stance.
Pikachu took the first move and used Volt Tackle.
He coated himself in electricity as he ran towards Bulbasaur at full speed.
He hit Bulbasaur but the latter only got his health decreased in a minimum amount, seeing it wasn't effective.
While the Pikachu was hit with the recoil.
"Bulbasaur, use Solarbeam!"
Bulbasaur took in sunlight and Pikachu prepared another same attack,
He bashed into Bulbasaur once more and was hit with another recoil, he didn't get time to react at Bulbasaur's attack as the Solarbeam hit him.
Pikachu layed down weakly as it tried to stand up perfectly.
"Return, you did good Saur.."
Red sent Bulbasaur back to his Pokéball and went towards the injured Pokémon.
He crouched down to look at the Pokémon and felt a little bad for being so harsh on him.
He then took out a Pokéball and put it on top of the Pikachu's head.
The Pokéball shook three times and stars appeared.
"Got it.."
Red smiled as he went towards me with a satisfied smile.
"I caught a Pikachu! Now we both have Pikachus!"
I nodded my head at him with a small smile, as my Pikachu shouted happily while holding his hand up in the air, while also sitting on top of my shoulder.
He then sent out his Pikachu, and the latter was clearly angry.
"Let's go, Pikachu!"
Red said happily as we began to walked out of here.
On the way, we were struggling, no Red more likely was struggling to get Pikachu to come with us.
"C'mon. Don't be so stubborn. How about we try to be friends, okay?"
Red said to the Pikachu, as the latter just scowl at him.
"Geez... You may look cute, but you're kind of feisty."
We then heard footsteps coming from over the ledge above us, and heard the same yapping tone.
"You're taking it easy, aren't you, Red?"
"You'll never complete the Pokédex by playing around like that. I'm embarrassed to have you as my rival."
Green smiled smugly, as Red scowled at him.
"Grrr!! What was that?!"
Green then turned his back on us, while smiling smugly.
"You want a fight? That's fine by me but first, my impetuous friend. Allow me to let you in on something. This City's Gym Leader, Brock, is looking for someone competent to fight him. I intend to do so and win the Boulder Badge."
"The Boulder Badge?"
Red looked at him in confusion, with his eyes still glaring at the back of Green's head.
"Yes, you still didn't knew about that?"
I thought that teaching him a little bit more of the Kanto Region and Pokémon Gym years ago would let him know more about the badges.
"Hahaha!! You don't know? The Boulder Badge can boost the Attack Power of your Pokèmon. Every Pokèmon Trainer knows that, even your cousin probably knows about it."
Green smirked widely.
"Grrrrrr! Well sorry!"
Red sarcastically snarled at him.
"So this is my challenge to you. Let's see which one of us can win the Boulder Badge first. Of course, it shouldn't be much of a challenge if you can't even train an electric rodent."
I felt myself boil in anger as he smirked at us, as if ridiculing us like we're some lowly trainers.
"Grrr... He'll take on that challenge and he's gonna beat you! You'll better believe that Red will be much more of a better trainer than you, and he'll train that Pikachu like it's a piece of cake!"
I shouted and pointed my finger at him with a hard glare.
But of course, the first part will be an absolute failure. But the latter, I'll guarantee it be very successful.
"Crimson.."
Red looked at me in astonishment before smiling widely.
He then looked at Green with a huge smile.
"That's right! I'll take on that challenge!"
"Hahaha! All right then, oh and one more thing. Brock specializes in Rock-Type Pokémon. Your little rodent over there won't be much use against him. Smell you two later!"
With that, he ran off feeling satisfied.
