Chapter 19: Fairies V.S. Demons

[Previously:]

Blinking her tears away, Carla's whole body shook. "Carla…?" Through a blurry of teary eyes, Carla saw Happy staring in concern. Soon enough, the Exceed ran into the embrace of the tom-cat and cried her eyes out. 'Those visions… I hope we can stop the first one, no, I know we will! But… do we even have a chance to change the second, or is it fate?'

(Normal POV.)

Everyone was on the ship, heading back to the guild as earliest as possible—Carla explained her vision as the guilds boarded, no one hesitating to change into their regular clothes for battle. The exception, the white cat, refused to tell anyone but Makarov and Mavis about the second vision. Now, there were faces full of determination… Fairy Tail refuses to lose a member of their family tomorrow, or today!

Makarov was steering the ship back to Hargeon, while Juvia helped move the waves of the ocean to make the ship run faster… Even Levy and Freed made enchantments for speed. Mavis disappeared once Carla informed her of the visions, and Wendy casted Troia on all the dragon slayers, so they could relax on the boat without getting motion sickness—Despite it being early in the morning and dark outside, no one could sleep but that didn't mean they didn't try… Silence in the air, Carla sitting upon the horizontal-pole that kept the sails up.

The Exceed stared off into the ocean, not noticing Happy had flown to sit beside her, "Carla?" Upon hearing a new presence, she jumped… Startled, only to relax to see it was just Happy. "Oh! Tom-Cat, it's just you… What do you want? I wish to be alone," Carla scoffed, upturning her nose in a rude fashion to try and sound normal.

Yet, Happy saw through the façade… Ever since Edolas, he's understood her more. Frowning, Happy glanced down where Natsu and Lucy were, "I know you don't actually want to be alone… You only had Wendy, with Cait Shelter—Now, you have all of us! Your vision won't come true, and you won't lose another family." Glancing at the sunrise, Happy beamed, "Aye, I promise it won't because we won't let it! Me… Natsu… Lucy. We're like a family too and we still have adventures to go on—We're Fairy Tail! We protect our own, so we'll definitely change the outcome of your vision!" The blue Exceed finished, fist pumped in the air with determination.

Carla's cheeks tinted a slight pink, turning away so Happy wouldn't notice—She hasn't seen him this determined since Edolas. Admiration flowed through her, and while Carla still had a bad feeling, she wasn't gonna let that stop her from protecting the ones she loved.

"Get ready, children! We're about to board the docks so move it! We have a guild to reach as soon as possible."

Everybody left their luggage on the boat, running to the station… Fairy Tail plans to hijack a train and deal with the Magic Council later. Well, everyone, except Jellal and Meredy. The two had snuck off without being notice—When arriving at the train station, panic arose when seeing they missed the last train to Magnolia, and it's not like there were extras lying about. Erza growled in frustration, punching the closest thing nearby… Who happened to be Sting, sending the white dragon slayer to Rogue, who stepped aside to make him crash into a tree instead. "We cannot afford to wait! We shall run until our very last breath; No harm will come to our—Wait… WHERE IS JELLAL AND MEREDY?!"

Looking around, no one could find them, "They've become cowards…" Erza shook, fist clenched as a dark aura surrounded her that kept growing more intense. Everyone flinched when her piercing glare was directed at them, stepping back in caution. "Well?! WHAT ARE YOU ALL WAITING FOR! GET TO RUNNING!" Erza shouted, storming ahead in the direction where Magnolia was.

Everybody sweatdropped, even Master when her attitude changed, "Geez, bipolar much…" Gray muttered, losing his shirt. "I HEARD THAT!" Wincing, everyone started to run and catch up to the scarlet mage, not wanting to feel the wrath of her sword.

{Fairy Tail Guild:}

The guild members that stayed behind to escort citizens out of town and to safety, were drinking to themselves… Easing the nerves.

"I sure hope Asuka is going to be safe with Reedus…" Bisca mumbled, worriedly clenching her husband, Alzack's hand.

Bisca and Alzack made Reedus promise to take care of their little girl during this war. They would've preferred Kinana, but no one has seen the girl, which was starting to raise a concern and red flags—Soon enough, Reedus and Asuka were both leading citizens out of Magnolia and to a safe place.

Alzack squeezed his wife's hand in reassurance, "I'm sure our little pistol is doing just fine. Reedus did promise to keep our sharp shooter safe." Laki took a seat at their table, joining the conversation and pushing her glasses in place with one finger, "Yeah! Reedus will keep her safe, even if he has to throw himself in the line of fire… Once everyone returns, all we have to do is kickass and then you both can have Asuka back into your arms."

Nab, who was standing at the request board as usual, joined, "When are the others getting back again?"

"Master said sometime during the late afternoon…" Laki trailed off, answering Nab's question in thought.

Everyone sighed… The guild seems lifeless right now, just like when the Tenrou team disappeared for seven years. However, no one expected for the entire guild's front to explode, causing everyone to get thrown back. Some that were closer to the doors or crashed into the alcohol bottles at the bar were injured… Dust and smoke prevented anyone from seeing. Yet, they froze to see multiple figures at the entrance… Eleven standing in the front and leading.

"What the hell?"

"Who are you?!"

"Bisca! Are you alright?!"

"Yeah, I'm fine! But whoever these guys are will get what is coming to them… I've been needing a new targeting practice."

When the smoke cleared, everyone's face was drained of colour. While the intruders smirked rather evilly.

"What are you doing here?! The war wasn't supposed to be until tomorrow… We can't handle them ourselves, our strongest are still not here!" Alzack shouted, rising to his feet and summoning a gun. The few members are already in a battle stance.

The figures smirked, the tallest of them, who was holding a worn-out book, stepped forward. "Did you pathetic mortals really believe for us to warn you and not attack sooner when the guild was separated? Honestly, it worked in our favor that your supposed strongest members are not even here—Fairies, while these are not the demon gates, meet the ones that were specially created for you," The man bowed, stepping away as the nine demons launched, about to grab and ripe throats apart until they were all thrown back by a force. From swords to natural elements, fairy bombs, rocks, enchantments, explosives, light, carrots, and spiderwebs. While it wasn't a unison raid, it was just as powerful—Growling, all the demons were pissed to see members from Fairy Tail and other guilds standing before them. Although the stranger that held a book, perked at seeing a certain pink-haired dragon slayer.

The ones that were about to be slaughtered sighed in relief, "You guys are back! …Though it's not like we're not happy to see you, 'cause we are! Like you literally saved our asses from hell, but um, why ARE you here?"

"Carla had a vision that something like this would happen, so we came as soon as we could," Lucy stated, glaring with a hand on her keys… Everyone was prepared for a sudden attack while Makarov and Porlyusica escorted the injured to a safe area for them to heal and rest.

Now, it was dead silent… Anticipation in the air about Demons V.S Wizards—That is until a sickly-sweet laughter made themselves known, heels clicking upon the wooden debris of the fallen guild. The demons separated to let the short female pass, "I forgot that white furball can see the future… We were hoping to have fun and watch you break to find your guild members lying dead, but I guess change of plans—We'll kill you first… Especially, YOU, Lucy-dear~" She sneered as if the name tainted her tongue.

Everyone was in shock… The truth hurts when coming forward—Lisanna Strauss was standing before them, but it wasn't Lisanna at the same time.

Mirajane was the first to speak, a gasp leaving, and hand covering her mouth, "Lisanna… What have you done?"

Smirking, Lisanna's feral eyes turned to her… They were unrecognizable, blood-red in colour and dull, as if she was a mere puppet, "Oh nothing, Mira-nee~ Just a little makeover… What's the matter nee-chan? Disgusted with the same thing that you turn into?"

No one said a word, Lisanna's transformation had rendered them speechless—She wasn't the innocent and sweet Lisanna that they've grown to know… She was different, a demon, rather than an animal takeover.

Her short-white hair was donning black highlights, fox-ears standing tall and teeth sharp as razors… Instead of the classic myth clothing, Lisanna wore a gray-bikini top that had black patterned swirls and tight leather pants with heels. Lisanna didn't have hands, but talons… Claws like a wild beast. Swaying behind her were nine-tails—Lisanna was a demonic, twisted version of her own, nine-tailed fox! Black markings painted her neck and arms, as it travelled like vines. You couldn't help but follow the path until it stopped at her newest guild-mark upon her abdomen. A guild-mark that wasn't known or recognizable, figuring it to be a dark guild if it involved demons.

"Enough of this talk!" Ignatius, one of the Etherious demons, shouted in frustration that there wasn't a single bloodbath.

He launched himself toward Lucy, her golden-like hair standing out the most. However before he could even reach her, Natsu reacted instantly and blocked the upcoming attack. But all Ignatius did was grin, showing canines as his talons dug into Natsu's flesh and a sudden BOOM was heard that sent the dragon slayer flyin' back—Lucy told everyone that she and Natsu would take care of this one.

Fuyu noticed a certain black-haired male… That was the one that Zero ordered to leave for him alone. So instead, he turned to the water-woman, "I'll freeze you…" His curse wasn't nearly as powerful as Zero's but enough to put an end to the girl, taking her by surprise. Yet it never came to Juvia, the attack being countered by the same ice-mage he was ordered to not lay a hand on. "I'll take care of him, Juvia go!" Gray hissed… Fuyu sighed— 'Forgive me Zero-sama, but I must end his life today.'

Juvia was about to help her beloved, only to be stopped as a demon appeared in front of her. Taken by surprise, Juvia faced the demon that looked like death himself; A grim-reaper. "Juvia will not allow you to harm Juvia's family, OR Juvia's beloved Gray-sama!" The water-mage shivered, not being able to see a face past the grim-cloak as it tilted their head, "My name is Gressil… and your future is clear. You'll be his undoing."

Sierva decided to attack Mirajane, Lisanna's words implanting a certain interest, yet the she-devil saw it coming a mile away. Transforming into her strongest takeover: Sitri. "I knew it… You're a disgusting takeover! Thankfully, my curse is manipulation." Mirajane laughed, darkly, "You can't control me!" Sierva grinned, "Who said it controls mortals? I control giants, and thankfully, your lover seems to have a magical trace of giant properties in him!" Mirajane's eyes widened as the demon stepped aside to show Laxus coming for her with his fist raised.

Instead of a demon, Erza attacked first, a female demon dodging in surprise. "You dare attack an Etherious, human!? I'll end you!" Launching, Erza and the demon fought, matching each other's strength.

Paimon noticed the Exceeds watching the battle, shaking in fear, "Hm, you brought a snack." A scaled-paw reached down, grabbing Carla… Just as he was about to eat the cat, Happy flew to his head and punched him, despite it being futile, "Let her go, let her go, let her go!" The demon growled, simply flicking the pest away as it sent Happy flying into a pillar. "HAPPY!" Carla cried, Lector and Frosch running to his aid while Panther Lily transformed and pulled out his sword to fight—Yet the demon didn't loosen his grip on Carla… However, Wendy gazed at the scene with horror, eyes widening as her dragon-side bubbled in anger, "Carla! LET HER GO—Sky Dragon Roar!" The attack hit Paimon straight in the chest, the force making the demon release Carla as she fell to the ground with a thumb. Growling, Wendy disappeared, only to reappear behind him.

Rakawar took one glance at Levy, snorting at the thought he'll take the punny-girl in a single strike—However, just as he was about to slice her with his webbed talons, Gajeel blocked it with his iron scales. Snarling, Gajeel decided to handle this "punk" … Levy, however, was worried for his safety and decided to help support in battle.

Orga decided to fight Vetis, with Rufus, Freed and Bickslow help, "Let the men handle this," Orga stated, cranking his knuckles. But the team was blown back, the demon tilting his head and letting out a puff full of air. Despite tumbling, the group stood and created a plan of distraction so two of them can take the demon out.

Valafur was merely laughing at the chaos that was created in the few seconds, "FurFur! How much, how much? How much will it cost; I wonder?! The destruction for repair of something new, FurFur!" Sting and Rogue side-eyed one another, the twin dragon slayers both holding a "what-the-fuck" look. Shaking their heads, they partnered to handle this demon together. Both take him by surprise when landing a punch that shuts him up, until Valafur bursts into laughter again, much to Rogue and Sting's annoyance.

Mara glared at all the beautiful women that tried copying her best friend, Lamy's style… Using her curse to multiple, they attacked Evergreen, Sherry, Kagura, Millianna, Arana, Risley, Yukino, and Cana.

The rest of the guilds were fighting dark wizards or members of Tartaros, more of them appearing like guards than anything.

Lisanna and the unnamed figure, watched the battle unfold, "When do we release E.N.D?" Lisanna questioned; eyes serious… The man standing behind her, holding a book close to his chest, "Soon. Let our newest demons have their fun—Yet, Ignatius's luck is nonexistent, he got the worst opponent. None of the demons know, except Zeref and the underworld King, who our Lord E.N.D really is." Lisanna nodded, almost robotically, "And then, Natsu shall be mine forever… Correct?"

"Yes," The lie fell from the man's lips with ease, hood hiding his face and dark smile—Mard Geer created him and this horde of new demons for one reason… to release E.N.D's true nature for their creator, Zeref. The "Lisanna" girl was merely a ploy on a chessboard, and once E.N.D is awakened, she shall be his first kill because… Their Demon-Lord belongs to no one.

From afar, on top of a building that hadn't been destroyed, sat Mavis and Zeref. The two watching bursts of magic and curses from different corners of Magnolia.

"When do you think they'll release E.N.D?" Mavis asked with a hum, bare feet dangling over the edge. Zeref sighed, running a hand through his black hair while staring at the cloaked man that held his brother's book, "These aren't demons I created so they're all just having fun… Mard Geer must've made them because he thought Fairy Tail wasn't worth his time."

Nodding, Mavis turned to the dark-wizard with sparkling-green eyes, "Well… I know my guild will survive this and become victorious, so I'm not worried—Popcorn?" The little-blonde snapped her fingers, a bowl of the buttery snack appearing in her lap. Grabbing a handful, Mavis offered it to Zeref by pushing it near his face.

Raising an eyebrow, Zeref shook his head with a smirk, "No thank you." Mavis pouted before an evil glint showed into her eyes, acting fast and shoving the popcorn into his mouth that made Zeref's cheeks look like he had acorns in it.

Minutes later, Zeref was wrestling with Mavis to try and get away from her as she kept stuffing popcorn into his mouth. She didn't even give him a chance to chew or swallow!

"Come back here and finish this popcorn!"

"…mmph, mph… mmphhhm!"

{Translation: Get away from me, you crazy woman!}

[Erza V.S Titania]

"You must be the one known as Erza Scarlet… I must say, I was created after you—My name is Titania," The demon said, grinning at Erza panting in exhaustion… Titania wasn't even fazed, not breaking a sweat. Just as her sword shattered, Erza summoned another as she fought Titania's talons that grew into sharp blades.

But no matter what, any requip and sword Erza used broke as soon as Titania's nails swiped. Soon, Erza was left in nothing but her Clear-Heart clothing without armored protection.

The two dashed at one another in an inhuman speed, clashing at a close attack. Erza's grip tightened on her two Demon-Blades that were blocking the demon's sharp talons from piercing her flesh. Titania snarled, not at all appreciating she was in pair with a lowly human, "Enough of these games!" The demon grew taller, strength unnatural as she pushed with a force that broke the two katanas in half. Surprised, Erza tried to jump back only to feel the demon's claws lift her by the neck. The requip-mage gasped, struggling in the demon's grasp, "I think it's time you learned what MY curse is…" Titania muttered, Erza's eyes widening to see all the pieces of the weapons she once used lift in the air before turning back into their original form—Except this time, the swords were floating in the air, waiting to strike HER down.

Yet, all of a sudden, Titania released her and was sent flying, crashing into a brick building. Erza coughed, desperately wishing to gain oxygen in her lungs once more… Swiftly, she glanced up with bangs covering her artificial eye, widening to see who saved her.

"Jellal…"

"WHERE THE HELL HAVE YOU BEEN, AND WHAT'S WITH THE BANDAGES AROUND YOUR EYES?! –Hey! GET BACK HERE AND DIE WITH DIGNITY AS WELL!"

[Mirajane V.S Sierva]

Mirajane was sparing and blocking attacks from her mate, Laxus, who was being controlled by Sierva.

Panting, Mirajane left herself losing magical power fast, gaining a lot of injuries. Laxus's eyes were cloudy, as if he wasn't even awake, just a mindless puppet. "Hehe, you disgusting takeover, you'll fall before ME! Maybe after I kill you, I'll have fun with this lover of yours," Sierva slurred, licking her lips.

Something inside Mirajane snapped, her Sitri transformation fading—Sierva believed she struck a nerve, thinking the takeover was finished and submitted to death. The demon was about to order Laxus to kill her until a storm started brewing… The sun got blocked as a dark cloud loomed over them, thunder roaring and lightning crackling. Sierva glanced at the takeover to see Mirajane clenching her fist together, shadow covering her face as lightning sparked from her hands.

Suddenly, Mirajane used the lightning to her advantage and speedily punched Laxus across the jaw, sending him into debris. This gave Sierva an opening, yanking Mirajane by the throat as the she-devil gripped the wrist around her neck, "You're a stubborn fly, you know that right?" The demon hissed.

Mirajane struggled in her grip, but she didn't show fear… No, she glared, and it only pissed the demon off even more. Just as she was near death, losing oxygen, something crashed into Sierva that had her tumbling to the ground. Mirajane gasping, looking up at her savior, "Racer…?"

"Sawyer… My real name is Swayer—I am no longer Racer."

Smiling softly, Mirajane rose to her feet with a new found of determination, Sierva doing the same to hiss at her two opponents. However, just as she called Laxus forward, nothing happened. Sierva's eyes widening in fear at the innocent grin on Mirajane's face.

"Oh… Did I forget to mention? I'm the one that tamed the dragon in him."

[Freed, Bickslow, Orga & Rufus V.S Vetis]

Bickslow and Freed were doing their best to distract Vetis, while Orga and Rufus snuck up on the demon. However, just as the two were about to attack, Vetis flicked his wrist before the four were sucked into a tornado—The moist and dry wind forced Orga's black lightning to become uncontrollable.

"Well, this sucks," Bickslow huffed, twirling upside down in his normal crisscross position. Yet, panic flew into all of them as a piece of a brick-wall headed straight toward them. Wide-eyed, the four began doggy-paddling in the tornado current, bracing for the impact when realizing it was no use.

All of a sudden, the tornado vanished, and the guys were sent flying into a broken building. "Oops! Sorry! Are you guys okay?" A cheery voice questioned, the boys glancing up in a dizzy state to see a blurry figure of Chelia. Groaning, they gave a thumbs up… All except Orga, who complained about a little girl saving them.

The demon tsk, sending an attack of black wind at Chelia, the girl just twisting into a defense stance with a smirk. "Thanks! It's so nice of you to give me a meal because that's LOVE!" The demon was left speechless as the god slayer inhaled the attack.

Smiling sweetly, Chelia and Vetis fought… Both on equal terms, thanks to Chelia's sky god magic and Vetis's wind-curse.

Every time the demon sent a curse her way, Chelia ate it without trouble. The pink-haired girl fighting Vetis in hand-to-hand combat as the guys cheered in the background. "That's it… I'm finishing you all in one blow! I'll gladly sacrifice myself for our Great Demon-Lord and Zeref! Once you inhale the poison, a special trick I learned from one of the Demon Gates, you won't be able to escape it," Vetis growled, exploding into particles as a black mist tainted the air.

Orga nervously stepped back at seeing the poisonous mist, "Uh, little-pinky… There's not a chance you're able to eat that too, right?" Chelia stepped away in fear, shaking her head and tripping over a rock. Freed was swift, making an enchantment as the poison got closer, "Everyone! Hold your breath, do not inhale the poisonous air!"

Everyone held their breath, soon enough, feeling the burning sensation in their lungs that screamed for oxygen—Right as they were about to gasp, the poison started to move the opposite direction of them… Panting, the five looked to see a figure inhaling the poisonous mist.

'What is HE doing here?!'

'What the hell, why is Cobra here?'

'Wait… He is one of the Oración Seis that Lyon-kun told me about!'

'Who is this guy?'

'Hm, is he one of the fairies we haven't met before?'

Wiping his mouth from the meal, Cobra turned and glared at the wizards… His one eye appeared wild, "I can hear you; You know! Tch, the name is Erik now… Not Cobra. Also, don't compare me to one of those fairies when you look like someone from the musketeers—I'm a new member of Crime Sorciere, and I don't appreciate being interrupted during mating season to save your asses!"

[Sting & Rogue V.S Valafur]

Valafur was laughing uncontrollably from the ground where Sting and Rogue punched him, "FurFur! How much, how much I wonder for a punch to the face? Your souls shall be payment for the sin you made!" Arms stretching like chains, they wrapped around Sting and Rogue.

"Oi! Let us go, you piece of shit," Sting shouted, doing his best to try and wiggle free… Only he started to feel sleepy all of a sudden, Valafur draining their magic and absorbing their souls for the Grim Reaper—Rogue didn't hesitate to transform into a shadow and climb up the demon's arm until he was to his face, punching Valafur that made him release Sting.

Sting punched the floor, landing gracefully, taking a deep breath and letting out a Holy-Roar toward the demon—Their eyes widened when the attack did nothing, Valafur, now immune thanks to absorbing a part of their magic. Sting's mouth dropped, frozen in place that he didn't realize Valafur swinging his arms until crashing onto the cement ground. "Sting!" Rogue was about to run and help his friend until a chained arm trapped him like a fish on a hook. Falling, the shadow dragon slayer growled, especially when Sting hissed in pain as the other arm did the same to him. "Like I said before, FurFur! The payment for your sins will be a soul or two~"

A shocking sensation went through Sting and Rouge, the twin dragon slayers screaming—It felt like Valafur was tearing their soul out with a butterknife… They were losing, 'Pathetic,' The two thought. As the end came near, a huge rock crushed Valafur into the ground as Sting and Rogue were released. "Payment? As in money? Money is the root of all evil… I go by the name of LOVE!"

Groaning, Sting peeked an eye open, "Hey Rogue… Who's the blockhead?"

Rogue shuffled with a grunt, opening his eyes as well and trying to stand, "I don't know Sting, but as of right now, he's our ally."

[Wendy V.S Paimon]

Carla was unconscious, Frosch cradling her in his lap while transformed as Panther Lily, Happy, and Lector fought whoever decided to come near their area—Wendy's eyes were fused between pink and brown, her dragon and human side fighting together… It wasn't dragon-force, and it wasn't dragon-form, a fusion mixture.

"Bratty-pipsqueak! I guess you'll have to be my first meal of the day!" Paimon hissed, spider-like legs tearing out of his back… Wendy growled, delivering blow after blow and sending the demon in the air. The sky dragon slayer had a higher chance of defeating an enemy where the wind was stronger and in an open area—Not once did Wendy let Paimon hit the ground. Although it wasn't long until the demon grew angry, spider-legs slashing at her as Wendy fell from the sky and hit the floor, creating a crater and knocking the air from her lungs. Breathing heavily, half-lid eyes saw Paimon shoot webs to hold her feet and hands together… The sky dragon thought back to what Natsu would do until she let out the biggest high-pitch scream that turned into a throaty-roar that broke glass. The sound caused Paimon to shout in pain, holding his ears as Wendy's wind tore through the spiderwebs. Huffing, Wendy shakily stood before throwing her arms to the side, building a current of wind that could cut through scales, and just as the breeze got too much, Wendy directed it at her enemy.

"Shattering Light: Sky Drill!" A battle cry left Wendy's lips, her strongest attack hitting a fearful Paimon that sent him upward. The demon falling, no pupil in sight as he vanished in a bright-green glow… Defeated.

Wendy panted; Her dragon-side giving control once more and going dormant until it was HER turn for mating season. The sky dragon's hair faded back into blue, scales disappearing, and brown eyes now clear, but dull in exhaustion. Whimpering, Wendy went backwards, crashing on the ground from how much magic power she used. The Exceeds were still in the middle of protecting Carla and Frosch, the three of them trying to fight their way to Wendy. Yet, the guards put a halt to their actions.

A crunching noise echoed on the semi-silent battlefield, hovering above an unconscious Wendy—Lifting their sword, the guard was prepared to end the young one's life themselves…

[Girls V.S Mara]

Evergreen, Sherry, Kagura, Millianna, Arana, Risley, Yukino, and Cana fought against Mara's clones that kept attacking.

All the girls were in a circle, back-to-back, and getting surrounded—The clones weren't hard to beat, but it did seem like the numbers grew the more one was taken down.

Roundhouse kicking a shrieking Mara toward a mini group of them and knocking them down like bowling pins, Yukino faced her friends with a frown, "This… seems way too easy for a demon." Millianna pounced on Mara, wrapping her legs before throwing her aside, "Nyaa, do you think this is a trap?" Cana, Evergreen, Sherry, Arana and Risley kept blasting Mara clones away, while Kagura stopped to observe in suspicion, "It doesn't seem likely… Although I've noticed this Mara keeps growing in numbers. Like a hydra. If you cut one head, another grows—Keep your guard up!"

…The girls believed to be gaining the upper-hand, but they were wrong—Mara's from each side overwhelming them. It was then, Cana realized the demon's curse was not to multiply but deceive… Meaning if the real-Mara was gone, then so would the duplicates. Nodding towards one of her comrades, Evergreen flew into the air with her wings, throwing what looked like a bomb in the sky before it burst into a bright light—The clones weren't affected, but Mara was… The demon instinctively shielding her eyes allowed Kagura to attack as the cones faded and the demon was bested.

However, neither expected to be ambushed by guards again, but just as they were about to shock them with magical staff. A red force pushed them back, two of the girls recognizing them immediately, "Midnight? Angel? What do you want, another fight!?"

Smirking, Macbeth smirked at their battle stance and raised his hands in surrender. Evergreen seething at his perfect eyeliner, "Relax… I am no longer Midnight or Brain II. My real name is Macbeth, and I chose to follow alongside Jellal to atone for all the sins I've created when following my father's path." Yukino's eyes widen at the girl that had her back to her, the female wearing all white as she gazed at the sky, "And I am no longer called angel—My real name is Sorano, and if I wish to be an angel someday, I must make up for all the sins I've done as well."

[Gajeel & Levy V.S Rakawar]

Rakawar clashed with Gajeel, the iron dragon slayer turning his arm into a saw, but it didn't cut through the demon's sharp fish-scales—Swiftly, Gajeel grabbed Levy and flew her to a high balcony for safety. It wasn't until then, did he get serious and punch the ground, shooting out iron-cubs in each direction that blocked off all exits.

The area looked like an arena now, only Rakawar and Gajeel… The sword-fish like demon and iron dragon were evenly matched in hand-to-hand combat. Gajeel's entire body was iron, something Rakawar couldn't pierced, and it was the same for Gajeel with those sharp scales—After a punch to the face, Rakawar snarled and transformed into his Etherious form, poisonous water filling up the blocked-area like a giant pool. Underwater, Gajeel held his breath, thanking Mavis that dragon lungs were better than most, his wings trying their hardest to flap but it was like the water was Goo than liquid to him. "I invite you to the Underworld's deep-sea, my water is lethal… Poisonous. In ten minutes, it'll be fatal to your body, but then again, mortals can't really hold their breath that long anyways," Rakawar chuckled, voice echoing in the pitch-black water. Using his dragon senses, Gajeel grunted and clobbered the demon underneath him, "I'm no human… I Am. A. Dragon!"

Just as Gajeel's fist connected with Rakawar's sharp teeth, his mouth opened in surprise, accidentally swallowing some of the water as his iron-scales cracked. Only Natsu was able to do such a thing… Rakawar took advantage of the distraction, delivering his own uppercut that had Gajeel's scales breaking completely.

Floating to the bottom, darkness engulfing him, Gajeel was barely able to stay awake from the lack of oxygen and poison in his system. The iron dragon slayer felt content at the thought of death… As long as his mate was safe—A splash diving into the water had him snapping his eyes open, gazing upward as a bright-light blinded him. Gajeel felt something small and soft pressing against his lips, energy and oxygen returning to his lungs. Eyes widened to see Levy, his mate, blowing needed air into his mouth before pulling away, doing her best to swim with him upward into an air-bubble she made with solid-script. "I…" Levy panted, "w-was so worried something bad happened *huff* to you, idiot!" Gajeel stared, a smirk forming, "Hm, what's a matter? Worried you wouldn't be able to touch your lips against mine, again? Wonder how my human-side will react to me being your first kiss…" At this, Levy's face exploded in embarrassment, threats leaving her lips to never say a word.

A snarl snapped the two out of their own world, remembering the situation at hand. "That pest… He was supposed to die! Guess, I'll need to get rid of the girl first," Rakawar snorted, swimming at top speed with his flippers and teeth ready to chop a bite out of Levy. The solid-script mage closes her eyes, waiting for the impact.

Just as she expected, Rakawar's teeth bit around her body, but what Levy didn't expect was her entire body to be covered in steal… Not a scratch or piece of flesh missing—Gajeel's body was the same, holding her protectively, carbon from the lethal water strengthening the iron scales. Rakawar was left speechless, teeth shattering and falling to the bottom of the pit… Levy and Gajeel decided to work together, the couple in sync and punching the demon in the stomach where Rakawar's weakest scales were. Blasting a hole into his chest as the water finally drained into nothing. Taking a deep breath, the two mages glanced where the demon was supposed to be, only for there to be a soggy-book until it burned in black flames.

[Juvia V.S Gressil]

"No… Juvia will never be Gray-sama's undoing! Juvia will protect her beloved—Water Slicer!" A whip of water headed towards Gressil; The force sharp enough to cut through rocks. Yet the attack only battered the cloak, the demon not once flinching. Distracted from her failed attack, Gressil's scythe that had an hourglass dangling from the tip, shot into the ground. Causing the dirt to crack under Juvia's feet and sending her into debris. "My curse allows me to see your future… I know, my chapter ends here, but eventually so does your beloved ice-wizard—You'll be his undoing, the reason he'll strike himself down!"

Juvia listened carefully to the demon's words, body trembling as tears threatened to fall—No… She'll be the reason Gray decides to… Juvia clenched her eyes shut; She couldn't imagine such a scene. Despite his specialty in ice, the complete opposite of her magic, Gray was her sun. The first friend and person that showed her there was more than rain.

Gressil eyed the water woman, deciding to give a mercy death and end this with one blow. Scythe raised above his head, but when it swiped down… Juvia rolled out the way and dodged, rain falling as her face turned emotionless, like a robot. The demon was surprised that her attacks were stronger, as if her emotions were coursing through the water. Panicking, Gressil twisted his staff and slammed it into the ground three times, Juvia tryin' to yank free as souls from the ground reached up and grabbed her limbs to keep her caged—Just as Juvia was about to get consumed into the underworld, swords cut through the souls that had them screaming back home.

"Juvia!" A familiar voice shouted, Juvia glancing up to see someone with pink-hair run towards her. "Meredy…? Meredy!" Juvia shouted, stumbling to her feet and embracing the girl. The two didn't need to communicate, trusting their abilities and working in sync as Meredy linked their senses while holding hands. Glaring at the demon, Juvia and Meredy raised their intertwined hands for a unison raid, "Maguilty-Water!" The two girls yelled, mental swords that fused with water hit Gressil, tearing the cloaked demon into pierces as a book crashed to the ground before burning to ashes.

"Juvia!"

"Are you two okay?!"

Meredy and Juvia turned to see Lyon and Gray running, both having their own set of injuries—The two must've taken down the ice-demon. Not being able to speak, Juvia nodded, softening at her beloved's face before staring at her own hands… Juvia will make sure that day never comes for Gray to sacrifice himself—Even if it means the cost of her own life.

[Natsu V.S Ignatius]

Ignatius snickered, seeing Natsu fly and crash into the ground from his bomb curse. Lucy tried to help, yet as soon as she took a step closer, Natsu shielding her protectively with a growl to not interfere.

Huffing in irritation, Lucy glared at Natsu's head… Sensing the heated-gaze from his mate, Natsu glanced over his shoulder with feral eyes that seemed to be glowing, pupils turned into slits. They were narrowed with so much power that Lucy sucked in a gasp. Giving another warning in a growl, Lucy stomped angrily away to hide behind some broken wood and bricks from Ignatius's view.

Focusing back on the fight against Ignatius, Natsu barely had time to dodge another explosive. Snarling, Natsu released a dragon-roar, launching himself to the demon with a flamed fist and punching Ignatius through multiple buildings. Spreading his wings, Natsu flew after him as Lucy secretly followed.

"Ugh, that stupid-lizard," Ignatius spat, dusting himself. "I'd watch that tongue of yours… I'm sure Zeref or whoever your boss is, hasn't spoken a word on who your truly messing with," Natsu's inner-dragon smirked, almost sinisterly—The inner-dragon was fully aware what was locked inside, HE was the one that had to share Natsu's body with him because he's a part of their soul. Yet, it stays locked away, never to awaken… Natsu's dragon-side made sure of it.

Raising an eyebrow at Natsu, Ignatius snorted in laughter, "Do you remember who YOUR fighting against? My name is Ignatius. Member of Tartaros, and their strongest demon—The Nine Demon Gates or this 'Demon-Lord' has nothing upon my power… Maybe after I'm finished with you, I'll go after that pretty-busty blonde of yours," He cackled, licking his lips at the delicious thought of making Lucy scream in brutal agony. Natsu stiffened, while Lucy shivered in fear and disgust from where she was hiding. The fire dragon slayer's eyes started to flicker from green to a blood-red at the very thought.

Clutching his hair, Natsu's inner-dragon tried to regain control of the situation in his head. "What's the matter hothead… Hit a nerve?" Ignatius teased, an evil glint in his eyes and showing off sharp canines that spread into an eerie grin. The demon huffed at the lack of attention, snapping his fingers for a bomb to go off underneath Natsu's feet that sent him tumbling across the dirt. His wings were tearing.

Suddenly, a giant wall of fire burst from nowhere, trapping Natsu and Ignatius inside—The demon gazed around in annoyance, but you could see fear in his eyes as the heat began to even melt rocks! Turning his attention back to the fire dragon, Ignatius fell backwards in surprise to see Natsu towering over him, bangs shadowing over his eyes. Fire licked Natsu's body to the touch, some of his dragon's scales turning a blackish colour… Canines sharpening and wings spreading wider to show off the tears he gained.

A sinister grin formed on Natsu's face, razor-sharp teeth shown as he gazed at the talons growing from his hands, "I may not like having little control of this body… But, nothing, I hate more than those that believe they are superior to life and death itself." Finally looking at Ignatius, the demon flinched to see Natsu's eyes were a mixture of green and red. As if the two colors were trying to overpower the other desperately.

~And just like that… The demon inside took control, while the dragon tried to fight for it back, before it's too late~
