This story follows the story line of New Sheriff In Town. Bo and Luke meet a bounty hunter from California, by the name of Colt Seavers.

Terri Michaels asked Colt Seavers and Howie Munson to collect a bond for her. In order to collect the bond money, Colt and Howie made their way to Hazzard County, Georgia. They arrived in town several days later and looked around for the Police Station.

"Wait in the truck, I'll be right back." Colt made his way into the station.

"Hello?" The man behind the desk looked up when Colt walked into the station. "I'm looking for the sheriff. Is he in?"

"Sheriff Duke is on his lunch hour, so you can find him at The Boars Nest. Take Highway 10, it's 15 miles out of town."

"Thank you." Colt left the station and got back into his truck. About 15 minutes later, they arrived at the road side bar.

"The officer at the station said the Sheriff will be here for his lunch."

"A bar?"

"That's what he said, Howie." Colt and Howie got out of the truck, walked into The Boars Nest and looked around.

"I don't see anyone that looks like a sheriff." Howie whispered to Colt.

"Hi hon. Looking for someone?" Daisy asked Howie.

"We're looking for the sheriff. Here on business." Colt answered.

"He's sitting right there." Daisy pointed to a table where there sat two men, playing a game of checkers.

"Excuse me? Sheriff Duke?" Colt was surprised when Luke replied without looking up from the game. "Which one?"

"Ah, the Sheriff of Hazzard County."

"That would be me." The blond man in the wheelchair replied.

"You're the sheriff?" Howie asked. Bo looked up from the checker board.

"Yeah, whatcha need?" Howie looked at Colt surprised.

"My name is Colt Seavers and this is my associate, Howie Munson. I'm a bail enforcement agent from California."

"Long way from home aren't ya?" Luke asked. Colt placed the picture he had onto the table.

"I'm looking for..." "Not interested." Bo replied as he pushed the picture away, without looking at it. "Bounty hunting is illegal in Hazzard County."

"Not in Georgia." Howie replied.

"Don't care, you will not be collecting a bounty in Hazzard." Before Colt could pick up the picture, Luke picked it up and looked at it.

"Want some advise Mr. Seavers?" Bo asked.

"What's that?"

"Leave."

"Come on Howie, let's get going."

"Whoa, hold on a minute." Luke said. "Bo, you need to take a look at this picture." Bo took a drag off his cigarette as he took the picture.

"You got to be kidding me. Hughie Hogg?"

"You know him?" Howie asked. Bo looked at Luke before he answered.

"He was killed last week." Bo answered.

"What?"

"Turns out, he killed his buddy Barclay and ended up getting shot by accident the next afternoon." Bo replied.

"Can I get a copy of the death certificate?" Colt asked.

"I'll call Jackie." Bo replied. Bo made his way to the phone. After a few minutes he returned. "He said to come on over. You can follow us."

"Thank you." Colt put out his hand and Bo shook it. They made their way outside. Bo smiled as he saw Colt's truck.

"Nice ride."

"Thanks."

"What you got under the hood?"

"350, four-barrel." Bo smiled at his answer.

"What was he wanted for?" Bo asked.

"Bribing a state official."

"Figures. Follow us." Howie watched Bo make his way to the passenger's side of the patrol car. Bo got into the patrol car as Luke placed his wheelchair into the trunk. Luke then got into the driver's seat. Howie got into the truck as Colt started the engine.

"How is he the sheriff?" Howie asked Colt.

"He was elected Howie." Howie went silent when Colt replied that. "I'm guessing that he was injured on the job and can still do the job that he was hired to do." They arrived at Jackie's place 15 minutes later. Colt pulled up behind Luke. Luke got out of the patrol car and before he could get Bo's wheelchair out, Jackie walked up to the patrol car.

"Hey Bo, Luke." Jackie greeted. "Here you go." Jackie handed Bo a copy of the death certificate, through the window. "How you doing today?"

"I'm doing good. Thanks for this."

"No problem." Colt walked up to the passenger's side of the car.

"Here you go Mr. Seavers." Bo handed Colt the death certificate.

"Thanks." Colt put it in his jacket pocket. "We're going to head on back." Colt put out his hand and Bo shook it.

"Keep it 'tween the ditches." Colt nodded and made his way back to his truck.

"Got it Howie, let's head on home." Colt and Howie made their way out of Hazzard. As the truck drove away, Jackie looked at Luke.

"What was that all about?"

"Turns out Hughie jumped bail in Cali and they were hired to pick him up."

"What did he get arrested for?"

"Bribing a state official." Luke replied.

"That's nothing new. Must have pick the wrong one this time."

"Got that right." Bo replied. "Jackie, you should have seen the look on that kid's face when he found out that I was the sheriff."

"I thought he was going to fall over from shock." Luke replied.

"That doesn't bother you?" Jackie asked Bo.

"No, he doesn't know the situation." Bo grinned at Jackie, then added. "I may not be able to run or walk, but no one I know can outrun a bullet."

"Got that right."

"Well, we have to get back to work. See ya later."

"Tomorrow around 11?" Jackie asked.

"Yeah, see ya then." Jackie nodded then walked back to his clinic. Bo and Luke made their way to the police station. Luke turned off the engine and looked at Bo.

"You doing alright?"

"Just tired."

"When do you get done?"

"About an hour. Cletus will drop me off." Luke nodded. He then made his way to get the wheelchair out of the trunk. Bo went into the station as Luke went back to Sweet Water.

"Hey Cletus." Cletus looked up from his desk.

"Hey Bo. Did that out of state guy find you?"

"Yeah he did."

"What did he want?"

"Was a bounty hunter from Cali. Looking for Hughie Hogg."

"You're kidding?" Bo shook his head. "What did he do?"

"Jumped bail on a charge of bribing a state official." Cletus shook his head at that. Bo made his way to his desk and finished his reports for the day. It only took him about 10 minutes to fill out the forms. Cletus walked up to Bo and wasn't sure on what to say.

"What's up?" Bo asked.

"It's just, you look very tired."

"I am." Bo replied.

"It's close enough, why don't I take you home?" Bo looked at the clock, he had 45 minutes left. Unsure if he should leave, Cletus told him. "It's your second day back, no one is going to fault you on leaving early." Cletus smiled and added. "I won't tell if you don't."

"Let's go." They made their way to the patrol car and drove to the farm.

"Thanks, Cletus. I'm only going to be working part-time days, three times a week. Grady Bird is starting tomorrow."

"Enos agreed to that?"

"It was his idea." Cletus nodded and made his way to get the wheelchair out of the trunk. Bo made his way inside as Cletus went back to the station. Several hours later, Luke got back home. He got out of his truck and saw Bo coming out of the barn.

"Hey Bo! What's up?"

"Just finishing up with the animals."

"How did your day go?"

"Slow. Grady Bird is starting tomorrow." Bo replied as he made his way to the house.

"What's left to do?"

"Everything is done."

"I'll follow you inside." They made their way to the house and went to the kitchen.

"I'll cook tonight." Luke told Bo.

"Thanks, I'm beat." They made small talk as they ate, then decided to head for bed, to rest up for the next day.
