Charlie POV

I couldn't believe that this was happening. Bella had call and told me that she had a friend that was coming to Forks to pick me up. That I needed to box up everything in the house or have it shipped to some place called Volterra Castle, Italy. She told me that this friend would be flying back to Italy with me and bring me to see her. What in the world had Alice gotten her into. I mean, I had been a little shocked when I came home after Harry died and found a note from Bella that Alice had dragged her to Italy for fashion week. It's not exactly Bella's kind of thing, but I guess she went because she'd missed Alice's company. I wasn't happy about her just taking off halfway around the world on such short notice but as she liked to remind everyone she was eighteen now, she could pretty much do whatever she wanted.

When Bella's friend arrived at the house, he introduced himself as Demetri. He reminded me a lot of Carlisle, the only difference being his eyes. They were red. He told me that they were contacts but I wasn't sure that I believed that.

Once the moving company came to pick up everything, Demetri and I covered all over the furniture and headed to the airport where a private jet was waiting for us. Demetri told me to get comfortable because we had a 13 hour flight ahead of us. I must have fallen asleep at some point because Demetri woke me up when we arrived. We exited the plane and made our way to a black SUV that was waiting for us inside the hanger. Demetri introduced me to his friend Alec. Alec drove us to the castle. Bella really wasn't kidding when she'd told me that it was an actual castle. Alec pulled the SUV into an underground parking garage.

I was then led inside the castle, and down several hallways until we stopped in front of a doorway. Demetri knocked on the door and after a minute he opened the door and led me inside.

Bella came running over to me. I wrapped my arms her. "Bella, I was so worried." I said to her.

"I know, Dad. I'm really sorry that everything has been so cryptic but I couldn't tell you anything till you got here." Bella said.

"And now that I'm here, you can tell me what's going on?" I asked.

She nodded. "Yes. Please come sit." She said leading me over to a sitting area. That was when I noticed a blonde haired guy sitting on a couch. Bella sat beside him while I sat on the loveseat across from them. "Dad, this is Caius. He is one of the Kings here in Volterra." She said.

"I don't understand." I said.

"Dad, I know that you've noticed that the Cullen's are...different than everyone else." She said and I nodded. Of course I had...everyone had. "Well, the reason they are different is because they are vampires."

"Vampires?" I asked. Did Bella have a concussion? Vampires weren't real. "You sure about that?"

That Caius guy scoffed and Bella glared at him. "Yes Dad, I'm sure. But not all of them are like the vampires you see in the movies. Garlic, crosses, and holy water have no effect on them. They don't sleep in coffins... actually they don't sleep at all. They don't burn in the sun, they actually sparkle." Bella told me.

"Vampires sparkle?" I asked. Bella nodded. "Bella, honey, why are you telling me all of this?" I asked her.

"Because Dad, Caius is a vampire and I am his soul mate. I've decided to stay here with him. I will become a vampire and I will spend the rest of eternity with him." She said.

It was the first time that I'd ever seen Bella put her foot down about something that she truly wanted. "That's your decision right? He's not making the decision for you." I said. I needed to make sure that this was her choice. That he wasn't pushing her into something that she might not want.

Bella smiled at me. "I appreciate the concern Dad, but yes this is my choice. Plus it's not really that simple. If Caius and I were to be apart for more than a day, the both of us would be in a lot of pain. But that's beside the point. Onto the next thing." Bella said.

"What's next?" I asked.

"With Caius being a King here, that technically makes me a Queen, which is the only reason that I am even being allowed to tell you any of this. So, you get a choice. When Caius changes me, you can either be changed as well and we can spend eternity together or you can remain human and spend the rest of your life living here in the castle with us." Bella said.

She wanted me to choose how I wanted to spend the rest of my life? How was that even a choice? If my daughter was going to be a vampire and live here in a castle, then I definitely wanted to be here for that. "Eternity sounds pretty good kid." I told her and Caius.

Bella had a big smile on her face. "Really, Dad?" She asked me. I nodded. "That's great." She turned to look at Caius. "Demetri." She said in a normal voice. He did take long for him to appear.

"My Queen?" Demetri addressed her.

She lightly laughed. "Would you take my father to his quarters and assign Alec as his guard until we can arrange his transformation." She said.

He bowed. "Of course, Mistress." Demetri said to her.

I stood up and followed Demetri out of the room. He told me that the part of the castle that we were heading to I would get tired of walked and would it be okay if he picked me up and carried me. He ran through the castle and everything passed by in a blur. It was odd, I had to admit but he seemed to be devoted to my daughter and Caius so I agreed.

Over the course of the next few weeks, Bella and I hadn't been able to spend much time together. She'd been busy with her new duties as one of the Queens. Alec had been assigned to guard me until after my transformation. He seemed pretty cool. We spent quite a bit of time talking. He told me that he had the power to cut off someones senses.

After it had been a month since my arrival to Volterra, I was summoned to the throne room. Alec escorted me there. When I walked in, I got the first look at my daughter's new life. She sat on the platform on a throne next to Caius. She looked beautiful. She was wearing a beautiful floor length ballgown and her hair was a little bit longer, and she had the most beautiful red eyes that I'd ever seen.

"Charlie! Welcome." Aro said. The only time that I'd seen him was shortly after I'd arrived at Volterra.

"Thank you, Master." I said as I bowed.

"I've summoned you here to discuss your transformation." Aro said. I nodded. "I'd like to do it today, if you're okay with that."

I nodded. "That's fine with me." I said.

Aro clapped his hands in excitement. "Wonderful. Alec and Demetri will see to your transformation per the request of our newest Queen." Around said.

I nodded and now as Aro dismissed me from the throne room. Alec led me back to my told me to enjoy my last moments as a human, while he went to feed and told me to stay in my room.

It was an hour later before Demetri and Alec joined me. "Is it time?" I asked them. They nodded. "Where should we do this?" I asked them.

"Wherever you want, but the bed would be more comfortable for you." Demetri said.

I walked over to the bed and laid down. When I was comfortable, I told Demetri that I was ready. He nodded once before he told me to close my eyes. Before I knew it, Demetri was biting my neck and shortly after that I felt the burn. Bells, had been right…it sucked. Guess I'd have to try and think about something else for the next three days.

After what seemed like forever I felt my eyes snap open. I could see everything so much clearer. I could smell so many different things. I sat up and the first person I saw was Bells. She looked more beautiful than I think that she ever had. "Hey dad." She said with a big smile.

"Bells." I said.

"Ready to hunt?" She asked me. I nodded. Eternity was gonna be fun.
