It didn't happen often but echoes of the past often showed themselves in this new timeline Chris and his family had created. So much trauma, too much blood spilled in the manor for it not to create waves. Some things just lingered, especially in the magical world. It was a fact of life. Chris hadn't always remembered the original timeline but he grew up knowing the truth - Piper and Leo didn't want to hide anything from their kids (especially if it would come back to bite them in the ass) - and then everything caught up to him on his twenty-third birthday. The memory restoration was something the family long suspected would happen for struggled with the dual memories sometimes but Chris had been provided with tools and support to help him through it. He appreciated it more than he could ever say.
And then there was Bianca. Neither of them could fight fate and ran into each other saving an innocent from a demon when Chris was nineteen. Thanks to the Phoenix's rebirth, she had always remembered the original timeline, which had confused her for a while to say the least. But she had worked through it - even going to Magic School for help and seeking out the Charmed Ones. She chose to avoid Chris for a little while until of course, destiny intervened. For the most part, everything ran smoothly and there were only a few minor bumps along the road in the changed future. The major bumps tended to fuck them up.
Chris and Bianca were upstairs in the attic with his parents, leafing through the Book of Shadows when it happened, as it always did. The air shimmered, they all froze, and then watched as Wyatt pushed Bianca away from him. Piper and Leo paled as the other Chris ran to her side and said his goodbye to the woman he loved before returning to the past to fix this mess. This didn't happen often - only the magical community knew about it - but these echoes tended to fuck everyone up, even though they didn't physically change anything. The psychic energy crackled in the air every time. Piper made her way over to Bianca's side and hugged her daughter-in-law. "I'm sorry?"
"It's okay," a semi-hysterical, laughing Bianca reassured her. Piper, Leo, and Chris side-eyed her in worry.
Piper and Leo glanced up at their son. "We really should come up with a spell to get our memories back of the original timeline. Chris, we really don't want you and Bianca to deal with all this shit by yourselves," she told him.
"That means a lot to us, Mom, you know that, but it's not necessary."
"You're sure?" a worried Leo checked. He didn't want these two to bear the burden alone - it didn't seem right or fair but that was the way magic worked sometimes. They all knew and accepted that fact.
"We're sure," Bianca told him.
"But thank you again for offering," Chris chimed in, exchanging a brief kiss with Bianca before they returned to the Book to find the demon they were after.
After they found it, tracked down said demon and vanquished it, Chris and Bianca returned to the apartment they (sometimes unfortunately, according to the latter) shared with Wyatt and his boyfriend. It was just easier and saved both couples a lot of money. He pulled his wife into his arms after he kissed her. "You sure you're not falling apart at the seams?" he teased.
Exasperated, Bianca nearly facepalmed but she held herself back. "Are you falling apart at the seams, Christopher?" she shot back.
"Touche. I love you, you know that?"
"Don't be an idiot, of course I know that. And same."
"I get a same? I'm wounded, Bianca Halliwell."
She laughed hysterically for a few minutes before calming down, mostly because of her husband's presence. "Glad this place is new to us and there's been no magical blood spilled that we can relive." And at least it didn't happen every single day - that was a big plus.
He nodded his head in agreement. "Thrilled we have that going for us."
"When's your insufferable brother supposed to be home?" Bianca loved making fun of him to his face - sure, there were moments she was terrified of Wyatt but she had learned to appreciate and love the Twice-Blessed.
"Soon. We can continue to have our breakdown until six," he responded with a grin.
"Sounds good to me. Now keep holding me and then I'll go start dinner," she told him.
"And by start dinner, you mean order pizza?"
"I hate you."
"I hate you too." He kissed her again and then telekinetically grabbed the remote so he didn't have to get up.
"Personal gain," she sing-songed, even though Bianca had never given a shit about it to begin with (except when it backfired and blew up in their faces, as it usually did. That always really fucking sucked).
"I just grabbed the remote, we're safe." Chris soon found one of their favorite shows, and the two of them settled in to watch. Bianca ordered the pizza as soon as she calmed down and they waited for their order to arrive - thankfully, it showed up before Wyatt arrived home.
He took one look at them and guessed what had happened by the looks on their faces. Feeling guilty, he sat down next to Chris, picked up a slice of pizza, and they ate in silence. "Sorry about your shitty day. Hope it gets better," a sheepish Wyatt offered when they started cleaning up and put the leftovers in the fridge.
Chris beamed at him. "Thanks, Wy, but we're shaking it off. We'll be fine again by morning."
"You sure?" Wyatt checked.
"Of course we're sure. Now quit asking," Bianca ordered as she closed the fridge door and went to find dessert.
"Fine!" Wyatt held his hands up in defeat before leaving them alone and heading to his bedroom.
Bianca and Chris slept the lingering trauma off - as they always did - and woke up feeling a lot better in the morning (as expected). These echoes screwed their heads every time but they were starting to happen less and less, thankfully, and would hopefully end completely once the new timeline got past the point the original timeline was erased. Their biggest problem was that they didn't know when exactly in the old timeline that it had happened so they were working on a guess at this point. But that was okay - they had each other and his overbearing, overprotective, loving family (and her mother, sometimes).
