As expected, it felt better to walk around without an escort of guards that most likely had orders to detain her should Weiss show any signs of wanting to escape. The beige clothing she wore was still ugly though, extremely ugly. Like the rest of the building, everything was vaguely similar to the architecture from Vale, which was weird. At times she felt like she was walking through a government building in Vale, trying to pay off some official to get Yang out of jail. As it turned out, despite being a criminal, Junior did actually have some pretty decent lawyers.

"And this is the cafeteria. It never closes since there's always someone on duty." Miss Militia pointed toward a double door that had a coffee sign. PRT headquarters was bigger than Weiss had expected. They had a large garage, a small hospital, and dozens of rooms, including a simple training area. Weiss would probably find herself there most of the time.

It wasn't as impressive as Beacon, Haven, or the other two huntsman academies, but it did the job.

"I see." Weiss eyed the large framed portraits that lined the walls. The Wards, or junior heroes which is what they basically were, had their photos plastered almost everywhere, along with those of the Protectorate. She even spotted one of Armsmaster, who seemed to have his frown permanently etched onto his bearded face.

"This way, please." Miss Militia led her down another hallway, the duo walking past several men and women in PRT uniforms, all who gave the tanned woman a respectful nod or salute. They stopped at another door where Militia pressed a small button. "These elevators lead us to the Ward base."

The 'hero' pulled a wristband from one of her many pockets, and held it out to the former heiress. "This will let you pass the sensors without sounding an alarm. You'll be fine once we add you to our system."

Weiss nodded, and an awkward silence filled the air around them.

"So, what is your world like?" Miss Militia spoke up, turning head ever so slightly to look at Weiss. What was Remnant like? Until now, Weiss had never really thought about it.

"It's beautiful." Weiss said softly. The Forever Fall forest in Vale was breathtaking with thousands if not millions of trees whose leaves were the color of blood. The tundra of Solitas was majestic, with the ancient Schnee's surviving the freezing cold and hordes of Grimm to become one of the most powerful families in the Kingdom of Atlas. That wasn't even mentioning the mountains of Anima and the oasis of western Sanus. "But cruel to those who are fooled by its beauty."

"Like a roses' thorns." Weiss could basically hear Miss Militia's smile under her bandana.

Silver eyes stared into Weiss' own sapphire ones as the smell of flowers overpowered her senses.

Blinking several times and forming a frown, Weiss released a sigh as the elevator soon came to a stop, her stomach feeling as if it was dropped on the floor.

"Sure, if its thorns wanted to kill you for no other reason than existing."

An obnoxious alarm started to sound the moment Weiss and Miss Militia stepped out of the elevator. Blake would have hated it the same way she hated Ruby's foghorn and whistle. The two offensive pieces of equipment resulted in the younger girl being chased by half of the faunus on campus, with Velvet at their head.

Yang had streamed the whole thing, which made their team leader go viral for a few days until it died down. The memory brought a small smile to Weiss' lips. She missed them all so much.

"The alarms are for the Wards, letting them know that they have visitors and that they should mask up." Miss Militia explained as they walked up to another set of double doors, this one better defended and armored. "It'll be up to them if they want to unmask or not."

"Of course." That much was obvious. As much as Weiss disdained masks, mostly because of her experience with the White Fang, for others it served as a protection for them and their families. Judging by the portraits of them that were everywhere, they were also pretty young.

The doors opened after Miss Militia entered a password off to the side. Entering her new home, Weiss raised an eyebrow as the doors closed behind her.

It was basically a living room, with some ginger in a domino mask watching cartoons on the large television that sat off to the side. Seated next to him was a mousy looking boy with brown hair. On the adjacent couch was a young girl with blonde hair.

"Hey Miss Militia." The ginger said, leaning his head back to view them. His eyes widened he caught sight of Weiss. "Woah, is that natural or do you just use a lot of hair dye?"

Weiss had to bite her tongue to stop herself from firing back. These people weren't used to the colorful styles of Remnant, so she shouldn't take offense. Still, she wasn't going to take that sitting down.

"My hair is very natural, for your information." Weiss said, narrowing her eyes slightly to prove her point.

"Clockblocker." Miss Militia said in a disapproving tone. "Vista, Kid Win, meet your new teammate, Weiss Schnee."

The girl, Vista Weiss assumed from the portraits, formed a large grin and jumped up from her spot, making her way over.

"Finally a normal girl!" Vista said, extending her hand. She seemed a bit confused for some reason. "How come you're not wearing a mask?"

"I don't need one." Weiss said, politely shaking the younger girl's hand. Vista made Ruby at the beginning of the school year look like a grown woman. "And I'm not fond of hair dyes and wigs." She moved a lock of hair behind her ear. That caused the three children to stare at her in shock.

"Are you German or something?" Ginger boy, Clockblocker apparently, spoke up again. What a childish name, one that easily spoke for his character. Well, they were children, and this wasn't a world filled with Grimm, so of course they would be relaxed.

"Or something." Weiss shrugged, forming one of her signature 'Heiress' smiles. Director Piggot had said to be vague when it came to her backstory, until one with fewer holes could be used.

"Your room should be ready in about an hour, and Armsmaster will pass by with your belongings." Miss Militia slid into the conversation.

"Thank you." Weiss bowed her head politely as Miss Militia left soon after, telling her to socialize.

Now that was easier said than done.

A/N

Time to work on the Stag's Daughter and decide what Weiss' hero name will be. She'll definitely need one since even those who are unmasked use them. Edelweiss, Beacon, and RWBY are the last three in the running.

Now I need to get Glenn to convince her.
