At John and Bailey's reception, Tim pulled Lucy aside to talk to her privately. "You want to have a quickie right now?" she teasingly guessed.

He side-eyed her but laughed. "Nice try, Luce." But he looked around, hoping to find another secluded spot where they could possibly have that quickie.

"So then what do you want?" Lucy flashed him a smile.

"I know we haven't been together that long but you're it for me, Lucy Chen," he began, taking a deep breath.

"Are you trying to steal John and Bailey's thunder by proposing?" she hissed, half-joking, half-serious.

"No!" Tim protested automatically. He glanced down at the ground before looking up at her. "Maybe?" he amended.

"Are you fucking serious, Timothy Bradford?" Angela interrupted as she joined the pair. The two of them turned to stare at her.

"What are you doing here? Checking up on us?" Tim crossed his arms to stare down his best friend.

Angela rolled her eyes. "I came over here to make sure you two weren't having a quickie but impulsive proposal doesn't surprise me."

Lucy snorted. "And what were you going to do if we were having a quickie?" Lucy shot back.

Angela shrugged. "I hadn't thought that far ahead but my trusty spray bottle is in the car. Do not make me use it or a hose again. You two know I'm serious."

They both shivered at the memory. "Anyway, I don't think I was proposing." Tim bit his lip. "Was I?"

"Why are you asking us?" Lucy lovingly rolled her eyes even as her body shook with excitement and anticipation anyway.

"Fuck it. The ring's at Angela and Wesley's - I've had it since the day after our second date. Marry me? As soon as possible." Tim put his sweaty hands in his pocket as he waited for a response. Both Angela and Lucy's mouths dropped open.

Lucy couldn't help the hysterical bark of laughter that escaped. "Get down on one knee and I'll consider it." Her eyes sparkled - the three of them already knew her answer.

Tim let out a long-suffering sigh but got down on one knee anyway. "This is not as romantic as I pictured it and we're definitely not telling anyone tonight. I refuse to let us be the jerks that stole John and Bailey's thunder."

"Little too late for that," Angela murmured.

Lucy playfully swatted her boyfriend's shoulder. "Ask me again, a little bit more romantically this time."

"I love you, Lucy. Marry me?"

"Fuck yes I'll marry you," she responded, throwing her arms around him. He stood up and kissed her.

Angela clapped delightedly. "Congratulations. You're both idiots, and I absolutely can't wait to be Tim's best woman." She kissed their cheeks and then went to go find Wesley.

Tim and Lucy kissed again, then headed out to the dance floor to celebrate both John and Bailey's nuptials and their own engagement. They couldn't wait to marry each other, call the other husband and wife. They were still head over heels in love and wanted to celebrate with those who loved them.
