It is now the kids' time to shine as the lake's newest lifeguards and to keep everyone safe! They will soon learn though its harder and more dangerous than just watching people from a tower and going WATCHBIRD ALERT
*Later after the storm clears up*
Peanut: *Goes outside* Jelly! Butter! The storm is gone!
Jelly: Finally! Now I can get back to my tea party with Pinch!
Peanut: I thought you didnt like tea parties Jel?
Jelly: Well its not that I dont like it its just not my thing but I figured I'd do it since I've been making her do the things I love a lot lately and I wanted to be fair!
Butter: *Taps Peanut's back*
Peanut: Hmm what is it Butter?
Butter: Birdie gone!
Peanut: Birdie gone?
Jelly: What do you mean by that Butter?
Butter: *Points to the watch tower*
Jelly: Ohhh you mean Cap'n Crane?
Butter: Yeah! Gone!
Peanut: Hey shes right look! Cap'n Crane isnt up on the watch tower!
Jelly: Thats odd usually hes always up there
Peanut: Should we check on him?
Jelly: Yeah I think we should!
Flick: Hey guys whatcha up to?
Jelly: We're gonna go see Cap'n Crane cause hes not up on the watch tower
Peanut: I just hope hes ok-
Jelly: Dont worry im sure hes just asleep!
Munchy: Can we come?
Peanut: Sure you can!
Flick: Maybe I can be the one who says watchbird alert this time!
*They go over to their treehouse and knock on the door*
Connie: *Opens door* Yes? Oh hello kids!
Peanut: Oodelay Mrs Crane we were just wondering where the captain is
Jelly: Yeah since hes always up on the tower watching over Lake Hoohaw
Connie: Well unfortunately hes not doing so good..
Munchy: Oh dear.. what do you mean by that?
Connie: Hes come down with the bird flu
Peanut: The bird flu?
Connie: Yep.. so hes gonna be absent for a couple of days..
Munchy: But then whos gonna watch over Lake Hoohaw and make sure we're safe?
Jelly: Im sure Mrs Crane can do it! Right?
Connie: I would but I dont wanna leave my husband out of my care and sight for even a second..
Flick: Oh I know! We can do it!
PB&J and Munchy: We can?
Flick: Yeah! This job seems super easy! I mean just looking at the lake and yelling watchbird alert all day! Easiest job ever!
Peanut: Well I think theres more to it than just-
Flick: I wanna be the new watchbird! Its what I was born to do! Can I Mrs Crane please?
Connie: Sure ya can! Just until my husband's feeling better
Flick: Yes! Piece of cake! In fact im gonna be a better watchbird than the captain! Im gonna be Captain Duck!
Peanut: *Mind* There he goes being cocky again..
Jelly: Can we help too?
Connie: Of course! The more the merrier!
Flick: We wont even need Cap'n Crane anymore once you guys see how good I am at watchbirding!
Peanut: Whatever you say Flick..
Munchy: I dont know if I wanna do this.. it seems dangerous cause we're up so high and we may not know what to do!
Jelly: Oh you worry too much Munch! Now lets get watching!
Munchy: Ok..
*They all go up on the tower*
Connie: Now remember kids im just down here inside helping out my husband! If you need anything let me know and I'll be right up!
Peanut: Sure thing Mrs Crane!
Flick: Ah who needs the Cranes when we got the best new watchbird in all of Lake Hoohaw! Flick Duck!
Jelly: Right..
Peanut: Remember guys this is serious business! We're the lake's watch guards and we have to make sure nothing happens!
Munchy: Yeah.. theres this song my mom sang to me once about safety!
*Insert song number about safety and adding lyrics of them being the new defenders of Lake Hoohaw (Im not a songwriter lol)*
Jelly: Oh watch otter alert! Watch otter alert!
Peanut: Already?! What is it!
Jelly: Its Pinch! I bet she'd like to help us!
Peanut: Jelly- only do that if its an actual emergency we have to take this seriously!
Jelly: Sorry.. but can Pinch come up here?
Peanut: Sure we can use all the help we can get!
Jelly: Hey Pinch! Up here! *Waves to her*
Pinch: Hey Jelly! What are you doing up in Cap'n Crane's tower?
Jelly: We're watching over Lake Hoohaw for him!
Flick: Yeah he got sick with the bird flu but once you see how great I am at watching stuff we wont even need him!
Pinch: Awww poor captain.. can I help?
Peanut: Yeah! The more help the better!
Pinch: Ok! *Knocks on the door*
Connie: Yes who is it?
Pinch: Its me Pinch!
Connie: *Opens door* Oh hello Pinch im assuming you're wondering what happened to the captain?
Pinch: I already know.. Flick told me about how he got sick.. I hope he gets better soon!
Connie: Thank you Pinch I'll tell him you wish him well!
Pinch: I was also wondering if I could help watch over Lake Hoohaw with my friends
Connie: Why sure you can! Just make sure to only call out an alert if its an emergency and if that happens come get me!
Pinch: You got it Mrs Crane! *Goes up on the tower*
Munchy: *Sees a boat hes never seen before* Uhhhhh watch beaver alert! Watch beaver alert!
Peanut: What is it Munchy?
Munchy: Look! *Points to the boat* who is that..
Jelly: I dont know I've never seen that boat around here before
Pinch: Oh thats just my dad! He got a new recycling boat after his old one got wrecked by the storm a few days ago
Munchy: Phew.. I thought it was a stranger.. my mom always said never to talk to strangers
Flick: *Thinking to himself* Man this job is more boring than I thought! Nothing cool's happened yet! I should make this a lot more fun!
Pinch: See anything yet guys?
Peanut: Nope it seems to be a peaceful day today-
Flick: Watch duck alert! Watch duck alert!
Peanut: Oh no what is it!
Flick: Mayor Jeff is in trouble! Hes about to get eaten by a lion! *Points to Mayor Jeff with a lion costume behind him*
Everyone: WHAT?!
Munchy: A lion?! In Lake Hoohaw?! What are we gonna do!
Peanut: We better get Mrs Crane and-
Jelly: No time Peanut we gotta save Mayor Jeff!
Peanut: But mom always said if theres something we cant do by ourselves then-
Jelly: Yeah mom says a lot of things now lets go!
Peanut: O-ok! *They all leave to go to Mayor Jeff's boat*
Mayor Jeff: This will make a great costume for Halloween next year-
Everyone: MAYOR JEFF
Mayor Jeff: Huh? Oh oodelay kids!
Pinch: Mayor! Mayor! Look out! You're gonna get eaten!
Mayor Jeff: Eaten? I dont know what you mean by that.. nothing's gonna eat me
Peanut: The lion! Its behind you!
Mayor Jeff: Lio ? *Turns around* ohhhhh I see the confusion.. dont worry kids its just my costume for Halloween next year! *Puts on* see? Nothing to worry about!
Jelly: But Flick said-
Flick: *Laughing uncontrollably* April Fools!
Everyone else: FLICK!
Munchy: First of all Flick its not even April its January! Second of all that wasnt very funny!
Peanut: Yeah! You're supposed to take your watch duck job seriously! Not for pranks! If someone really gets hurt and you say so we wont believe you if you keep this up!
Jelly: Remember the otter who cried wolf? Didnt you learn anything from last time you did this?
Flick: Aw cheese and quackers guys it was just a joke! Cant anyone take a joke these days!
Munchy: It wasnt funny you had us worried sick!
Mayor Jeff: You know Flick its not right to joke about something as serious as someone getting eaten.. its not something to take lightly
Flick: Ok ok! Yeesh ya dont have to give me a lecture-
Peanut: Sorry about that Mayor Jeff we're the new watchbirds of Lake Hoohaw and Flick thought it'd be funny to pull a prank- cool costume by the way!
Mayor Jeff: Why thank you Peanut! But if I may ask how come you guys are the new watchbirds?
Jelly: Cap'n Crane is sick and Mrs Crane is taking care of him so we volunteered to help keep Lake Hoohaw safe!
Peanut: Well most of us anyways.. *Glares at Flick*
Flick: What?!
Mayor Jeff: Thats very nice of you kids but you should really get a grown up involved too.. keeping everyone safe is a big responsibility
Peanut: Thats what I tried to tell them when we came over here thinking a lion was gonna eat you!
Jelly: Dont worry Mayor Jeff we can handle it right guys?
Everyone but Peanut and Munchy: Yeah!
Munchy: I dont know guys.. we're just kids what if we get hurt!
Peanut: Im with Munchy on this one there are just some things we cant do on our own like mom said
Flick: Cheese and quackers you guys are a bunch of worriers!
Jelly: We'll be fine big brother we can do it!
Peanut: Whatever you say.. now lets go back to the tower
Pinch: Ok! See ya later Mayor Jeff!
Mayor Jeff: Bye kids! Stay safe out there!
*As they go back to the tower and keep guard of the lake Pinch's boathouse might be in trouble*
