I'm not dead, though some of you are probably mad with me. I work too much, as well as watching kids that aren't mine, lol.
This chapter is not long, but hopefully it will satisfy some of you. I was not expecting 3 years to go by that quick, woops. Time flies (Kingdom hearts reference) :P It feels like I just updated the last chapter a few months ago.
Anyways, hope you enjoy. No Flames allowed. Sorry for any spelling errors, edited this a few times, on three different documents.
Chapter 13: Rescue's
Another week passed, Yami and the other nine creatures were sent out to each of their respective territories, attacking and destroying everything they could get at. Surprisingly Yami had not touched much of the town or behind the wall.
Blue flames died, Atemu came out from behind Yugi, a wave of water clearing a path before smashing into the bat, sending it to the ground.
Getting up the bat shrieked loudly, glowing black and white, slowly healing its injuries, yet not fully as it was saving its magic for the others.
Noticing people attacking, it spun its body around, smacking vampires away with its tail.
Ryo and Bakura ran through the path Atemu had made, jumping above its head "Sorry Yami" Ryo apologized.
"It has gotta be done" Bakura countered "He is getting weaker. We have to take Yami down first for the sake of the others."
"I know" charging his lightning, Bakura extended his weapon, attaching it to his mate's ability, super charging it as the both of them dropped down, slashing the bats backside.
Shrieking once more in pain, falling to the ground again.
Deep within the bat's mind, lay Yami, wide awake and chained to the floor. Yami watched everything that his friends and people were doing for him to return to them.
Panting in pain and loss of magic /Just Let Me Out!/ more pain from more attacks from the outside /Amelia! Stop This Now/ struggling with the chains, pushing himself with all his strength in sitting up, getting about halfway before being slammed back down. Catching his breath, sweat rolling down his face, gasping /You can't have my husband, he is all I have!/ choking, tears falling /You can't have him…Damn it!/ Yami lay there in defeat, wishing that he had been a bit stronger when fighting Amelia months ago.
Yami continued to watch the battle from within, trying his best in getting free from his chains, yet Amelia's magic was strong. If only someone could see, almost ghost-like chains surrounding this creature.
In the spider's territory, all spiders attacked a giant white fuzzy tarantula. This territory had the youngest child, being the ten year old female.
Her parents knew their daughter was not very strong when it came to combat, yet she has lasted this long for over a month. Any longer and there would be some serious damage.
Attacking swiftly, the tarantula sprayed its webs all around the area, a purple mist seeping out from them, clouding the designated area.
A line of warrior spiders shot poison strings at it, striking everywhere but the heart.
Many jumping spiders attacked, landing on its back, biting their fangs deep within the tarantula.
Screeching loudly, white fur rose up into spikes, cutting every single spider that landed on its body.
Crashing down, each spider slowly began moving away from the poison mist.
The tarantula hissed in pain, staggering itself.
The leader, Arachne, noticed this sudden movement, charging her ancient magic "Everyone! Attack at once! She's very weak! This is our last chance!" she ordered, creating a powerful magic ball.
Her people did the same before the tarantula could notice, unleashing their magic and colliding with their target.
Shrieking very loudly, rumbling the earth below them. The shrieks and rumbling slowly subsided after some time, leaving the tarantula stunned in a daze, wobbling back and forth. Blood dripped from its mouth.
Minutes of unmoving from the people below, they waited for something to happen.
After almost two minutes of such a brutal battle, the people were still on edge, knowing that if their final attack did not do its part, they were all in for a world of hurt. The people were injured, tired and partly upset at the fact that they had to fight a young girl of their own.
Finally, after what felt like ages, the tarantula's body began to shift and morph, slowly fading from existence, particles flying off into the sky, forming together in a pile and zipping off in a random direction.
Where the tarantula had been, a lime green crystallized stone spear fell from the sky, dropping down to Immorus and crashing into its layers.
Dust and rocks shot out, clouding everything in sight. Once clear, Arachne looked closer at the spear, seeing that the girl was unharmed. On closer inspection, the spear was beginning to solidify, becoming soft enough to extract the child, but before the Queen could get close enough to the spear, it burst open, casting its contents all over the area.
Shielding herself, she looked back into the hole, finding the child unmoving.
The girl's mother came sprinting over, leaping into the hole without a care in the world "Magee" she called out to her daughter, cradling her "Magee, baby, come back to me." She cried, trying to hold back the tears. She then noticed all the cuts and bruises all over Magee's body. Gasping "What is going on?" She questioned, not understanding why her daughter was this badly injured.
It was the same ordeal in the Feline territory. Just as each territory had caught wind of the spider's success, everyone got enough courage to continue, attacks being fired in every direction in different shapes and sizes, yet careful in not hitting its heart.
Before every feline, crouched a giant white and gray cougar, its host, the twelve year old boy from that territory. The cougar's fur was plastered with blood on every inch of its body, trembling and panting, fighting the urge to give up, yet failed.
Growling extremely loud, the trees rustling as the sound waves echoed outwards.
The cougar's body shifted and morphed, slowly fading into thin air, yet held a determined expression on its face, knowing how this war was going to end. Its body then turned into particles, shooting off into the sky, forming together and shooting off in a different direction.
Every feline dropped to the ground, exhausted after this final encounter, some morphing back into their half human forms.
As everyone exhaled breaths, Vivian, their territory leader, examined the lime green spear that had dropped down from the now vanished cougar. The boy seemed to be in one piece, though that changed when the spear began to solidify, exploding in all directions. Quickly turning back to the boy, Vivian instantly saw deep cuts and puncture wounds forming all over his body, bruising was also visible.
The boy's parents came sprinting over "BRAM!" Leaping into the small crater, his mother cradling him and sobbing in relief.
His father was angry "What the hell happened, there should be no reason for him to be in that state, we did not go near his heart, yet his body is covered in wounds."
Vivian exhaled "I'm not sure. This will have to be something that I will have to look into. For now, everyone gets back to town. Tend to the injured." looks to Bram's parents "Come with me, Bram will have to be tended to with extreme caution since we do not know how Amelia triggered his sudden change." Vivian stated, walking away, the parents with Bram in his father's arms, followed behind her /Yugi, your damn council members better spit out what the hell happened, or I'm going to squeeze it out of them. They told us not to attack the heart area and everywhere else should be okay. So why is it that they are in this condition?' Sighing, Vivian continued on back to her castle, knowing that she will have to get in contact with Yugi as soon as he finished his work in his own territory. She knew that Yami was the only thing on his mind right now and nothing else could distract him, let alone his missing son on top of all things.
Amelia stood outside from the machine, watching the two glowing orbs at the base of the structure absorb the energy of the two defeated creatures. From each orb, a strand of energy twisted itself around the structure, connecting at the top, which in turn opened up to a slit. The strands were feeding into the mouth of the snake.
Smirking "It has started, once all the creatures are defeated, the real fun will begin." Amelia paused, sensing and looking off into the distance "Yami is about at his limit. Since he got here, he has been a headache. Damn Seto had to go and wake him up too, which in turn made me have to use my own magic against him." Clenching her fists "Stop struggling, you are not the one in control, I am."
Back in Vampire territory, Yami gasped. The chains tightened even more around him, preventing him from moving. He could feel his strength leaving him, magic included.
Darkness shrouded his vision, everything became cold. The chains struck him like needles against his skin. Yami just wanted this to end, to be free from his prison cell Amelia had placed him and all the other people she captured into.
What felt like hours, the chains suddenly released him. The cold became warm, what little strength he had lost, returned to him. The last thing Yami could see was the bat flying off as if it was running away from something.
The sun on his skin felt nice. Suddenly he felt sick, his eyes flew open, light blinding him all together, yet forced them to stay open. Moving slowly, Yami managed to roll over, pushing himself on to his hands and knees. The sudden sickness that was upon him would not leave.
Crawling to the edge of the crater he was in, questioning that later, Yami pulled himself out of the hole, still on all fours before everything came out. Minutes later, gasping for air. Lime green slime "Gross" collapsing to the side. Darkness overcame him once more, body going limp.
"YAMI!"
/Before Yami woke up\
The bat suddenly stopped moving, struggling as if something was holding its body completely still. Screeching, the bat fell sideways, the ground trembled.
Yugi stopped the people from attacking, watching what it would do.
Heba jumped down from a nearby tree, bow returning to his wrist "Is it struggling against something?"
Marik, from a distance away, noticed something, something that only his eyes could have seen. Tensing, Marik growled "What's wrong?" His mate questioned, inching his way closer to him, not wanting to alarm anyone else at that time.
"I couldn't see them before, but now of all things" hissing "God damn Amelia and her twisted mind. Never would have thought she could pull off something like this."
Raising a brow in question "Like what?"
"Chains filled with magic, and not no weak shit either." Marik replied.
Bakura overheard him "So that's why Yami can't regain control."
"Most likely, and with how weak he is right now." Marik responded.
Malik asked, "Do you think you can cut them?"
Nodding "It might take a few tries."
"Right, I'll explain this to Yugi, he needs to know what you will be doing." Malik told them, running off to where Yugi and Heba were. In a few minutes Yugi nodded, Malik turned back towards his mate, nodding his head in saying 'go for it'.
Smirking, Marik grabbed his weapon, a pair of scissors, normal sized before sending his ability into them, supersizing them to their full length. A good three and a half feet. When he fights normally, the piece that holds the scissors together releases to two swords.
Once extended, Marik then charged ancient magic into them, making sure that his magic was stronger than Amelia's hold over those chains.
When ready, Marik ran forwards, leaping on top of the bat. Unnoticed, Marik slipped his weapon over the chain, and in a quick movement he clenched his weapon together.
Sparks and metal flew outwards as Marik struggled against the magic. It was tougher than it looked, not including a thrashing giant bat underneath him. It was hard enough just trying to keep his footing steady.
Atemu, a distance behind Bakura, could tell that Marik was struggling. Running up to Bakura, he whispered something to him, who in turn agreed. Atemu ran around to the other side of Marik, creating a stream of water, forming that into a rope before tossing it over to Bakura. Bakura attached his baton to Atemu's water, pulling it down to the ground, keeping the bat steady.
Others joined in, grabbing any other part of the bat.
After what felt like forever, Marik charged his magic even further, taking another bite of the chain, clenching his weapon tightly, wanting them to close.
Minutes more, and an echo of metal snapping could be heard by all.
The chain quickly disappeared, the bat finally being able to move freely once more. With one last screech from it, it flung every Vampire off from its body. Flapping its wings, the creature flew up into the air, took one last look at the people below before flying off.
Yugi quickly climbed a tree, seeing where it was going. He was surprised, every other time it left them he had never seen particles coming off from its body.
Within seconds after seeing that, the bat's body vanished as something that looked like a spear fell from within it.
The particles collected themselves in the air and flew off into a different direction.
Isis was also in a tree close to Yugi's "I'm going over there, you take care of things here. Tell everyone that we are done, go back home, tend to the injured." Yugi said, extending his wings, flying over to the object that had fallen.
Isis understood, jumping down from her tree to do just that.
As Yugi glided through the air, he didn't know what he would see when he got to the location, all he knew was that it had to be his mate, it had to be.
Closing in on the location, coming just over the tree line, Yugi saw the crater that the object had made, yet was not expecting to see Yami's body just starting to tip over, falling unconscious.
Touching down, wings returning "YAMI!" running over to him. Once close enough he saw what Yami had told them a while back about whatever they did to the bat, that it transferred to the host body.
Cringing, Yugi shook that though from his mind, kneeling down, gently rolling his mate over, lifting him so his head could rest on his shoulder.
As soon as Yugi did this, Yami's body relaxed almost instantly, breathing steadied. The wind was calm, trees were quiet. At this moment, Yugi finally sighed a breath of relief. Having one less thing on his mind.
Yami was back, not in a great condition, but he was back. Safe and away from Amelia's control. Sighing once more, Yugi pulled him closer, knowing that once he returned to the palace, Isis would steal Yami from him to tend to his injuries once she saw the state he was in.
Again, he exhaled, grabbing Yami's left arm, letting that rest around his neck before picking him up, slowly but quickly walking back to the Palace. He didn't want to move too fast encase Yami had internal bleeding, knowing that some of the attacks his people had used may have punctured a few of his organs. Can never be too safe, let alone Isis needed time to tend to everyone else beforehand.
Back at the Palace, Heba and Amara were the only two people pacing back and forth at the entrance of the palace.
Atemu had filled in for Yugi while he was away, Zoltan would have been the one to do this kind of thing, yet this was not his war to begin with, so Atemu took the lead, having to do this once before. Atemu was in the throne room, telling him that Lady Vivian was on call, needing to know somethings.
Aknamkanon was the only one watching these two, shaking his head in the process "He'll be back." He stated.
"It has been an hour, Hun."
"And I'm not jumping out of my skin. Yami is tough, he always has been, even when we all passed away. So, there is no reason to work yourselves up like this." Aknamkanon said, still shaking his head, walking more out into the open, far enough to see around the corner.
Heba stopped in his tracks "Right" he whispered, forgetting that Yami had to deal with that sort of thing.
Fifteen minutes passed before Yugi came into view, Aknamkanon was the first to spot him, eyes gone wide. Yami was soaked in his own blood.
Once Yugi was close, the three said nothing, just watched Yugi go off towards the healing chambers where Isis, Ishizu and a few others were waiting for him. The wind blew, sending shivers down the three's spines, never imagining the state that Yami was currently in.
Yami is back, hooray, though he will be out of commission for a while. Ty is still missing. I wonder where he is OwO
Hope you all enjoyed; I will try starting the next chapter later today. I have to watch my niece and nephew tomorrow morning for a few hours. they'll be bugging the hell out of me till noon, lol. I then have to go back to work on Wednesday and Thursday. Christmas holiday weekend is over :[
