Hello again everyone!
Here's the next chapter! A great one for the first of the new year!
Sorry for the long wait! Figured I'd release this now before the new show comes out, which I will be adapting parts of to this fic. I will be using/referencing the old and new designs of characters in my story, which will obviously differ from whatever story the show has when It comes out.
Now, there will be weird body proportions in this story, so I apologize in advance if it disturbs you at all. I am aiming for a great variety in body shapes and sizes.
Disclaimer: I do not own Helluva Boss or Hazbin Hotel. Vivziepop does.
Now, let's resume our hellish tale!
Welcome to Hell Part 1
The outskirts of Pentagram City
It was a noisy day as usual in the city. Demons were arguing, selling drugs, killing each other, and being prostitutes as usual.
One female demon though, was just walking about.
As she walked down the sidewalk, she happened to look up at the blood-red sky, and her grin widened as she saw that multiple big, dark blood red clouds had started forming in it. And they were growing bigger every second. She watched as the clouds grew bigger and bigger till they were covering over half of the massive Pentagram in the sky that floated over the entire city, which was also shaped like a Pentragram. And then, what looked like a small funnel began to grow from the clouds.
'How…interesting,' She thought as she watched the funnel.
Many demons started to begin screaming and running away in terror, claiming it was a horrible storm.
But a select few stayed where they were, watching the clouds and funnel intently, wondering what it was.
The funnel continued to grow bigger and bigger, until it was as fat as two houses, and was close to touching several buildings close by. Red electricity then began to appear on the funnel, getting brighter and brighter every second.
The funnel then opened up at the end after a minute had passed and shot out a large red orb covered in the red electricity with a loud "FOOM!" before quickly dissipating.
The red orb landed in an empty lot a block away from the female demon with a loud "KABOOOOM!" creating a large shockwave that destroyed windows, windshields, and other glass objects in a rather wide radius. Fortunately, the demon's monocle had survived the shockwave.
"How interesting," She said, her voice sounding a lot like an old time radio announcer's. She then began walking towards the empty lot, seeing that it wasn't empty anymore.
"Ugh, my head," Gavin said as he sat up, rubbing his head as he did so. "What happened?" he said as he looked around, and saw he was on some brown grass, with all his things sitting around him. He then looked on his lap, and nearly jumped out of his skin. There, sitting on his lap, was the skull, while around his neck, reaching down to the middle of his chest, was the pendant.
Upon seeing the two items, it all came back to him. The delivery. The glowing tendrils. The song.
All of it.
"Shit!" he said upon remembering all that had just happened. "I'm not where I think I am, am I?" he then looked up, and his eyes widened upon seeing a massive bright red pentagram in the sky. "Fuuuuck!" He yelled out, before he covered his mouth, afraid someone or something might have heard him. 'I'm in Hell. I'm in Hell! This is the worst situation ever! What do I do? WhatdoIdo? WhyamIhere?! WHY AM I HERE?!'
As he sat there, trying to figure out what the best course of action was, he heard what sounded like an old-fashioned radio from behind him, followed by a female voice saying, "How very interesting."
'Oh no!' he thought as he turned around and saw a being that was presumably a demon. Said demon stood about 7 feet tall, and was quite slim, with beige colored skin, and sharp yellow teeth. It sported medium-length pinkish-red hair that had the front cut with an angle, with black tips at the ends and two large black-tipped tufts of hair extending from the top, resembling deer ears. It also two small black antlers sticking out between the "ears." The she-demon's eyes, as could be determined by the very large breasts she apparently had on her chest, had blood red sclerae, bright red irises, and thin black pupils. A dark-red oval-shaped monocle rimmed with black sat over her right eye. She was wearing a red pinstripe coat with dark red lapels edged in white and was a bit ragged along the bottom hem. Underneath this was a bright red dress-shirt with a black cross on the chest, and long black dress pants sat on her legs, with matching bright red cuffs at her ankles. A black knotted bowtie with a bright red center sat around her neck, with black gloves with red at the pointed fingertips covering her four-fingered hands completely. Black pointed-toe boots sat on her feet, and a thin black cane with a vintage style oval microphone was held in one of her hands, a large bright red eye with a slitted black pupil sitting on it. 'A demon!'
The demon continued to stare at him for several seconds, before she stepped forward. He immediately began crawling backwards, a scared look on his face as he did so. Eventually, his back hit his coffee table, and his heart began beating faster than it already was.
"A human," The demon said with intrigue as she took a few more steps towards him, towering over him as she looked at him, a large grin on her face. "Why, I haven't seen one for over 80 years."
"P-P-P-P-please don't hurt me!" He managed to say, his eyes wide and voice shaking with fright.
The female demon, upon hearing this, began to chuckle. "Oh, don't worry. I'm not going to hurt you," the demon said, her grin growing bigger. "Now tell me, how did you get to Hell without killing yourself? Every sinner that's come to Hell has come by death. But you, my good fellow, have somehow not died."
"I-I g-g-got a package in th-th-the mail," Gavin began with a fearful stammer, not wanting to make the demon angry. "A-And I opened it, c-cause I thought it was wh-what I had o-o-ordered. B-B-But it wasn't." He then pointed to her left as he said, "Inside w-w-w-ere th-th-those two o-o-o-objects."
The female demon looked to where he was pointing, and upon seeing the skull and pendant, her grin widened even more. "Interesting," She said as she turned back to the human. "Continue."
"W-W-well, I w-w-went to put th-th-th-the items back in the b-b-box, but when I t-t-touched the p-p-pendant, it b-b-began gr-growing r-r-red tendrils," He continued, stammering with fear. "I-I-I tried to get away, but it tr-tr-trapped me in my apartment, b-b-before it began playing the song 'Highway to Hell.' After a f-f-few minutes went by, the t-tendrils had covered e-e-everything, and began to g-g-glow. Next thing I know, there was a red f-f-fl-flash, and then I was out. When I c-c-came to, I w-w-was here." Gavin then pressed himself harder against the coffee table, afraid of what the demon might do next. 'Please don't kill me! Pleasedon'tkillme!' he chanted mentally over and over again as he stared at the demon.
"Hmmmm," The demon hummed as she thought over what she had just heard. "Quite interesting," She said, forming an idea in her mind. After a few more seconds had passed, she spoke again. "You are coming with me," She continued, making his eyes widen even more.
"What?!" he replied with fright. "No, I won't!"
"It would be in your best interest if you did so," The she-demon said, her grin shrinking slightly as her antlers began to grow a little. "I know for a fact that other demons are heading here to see what has arrived. You did arrive here rather flashily after all. And unlike me, they won't hesitate to torture and kill you."
Upon hearing that, Gavin's eyes widened to the size of dinner plates. 'Shit!' he thought with worry, before he heard the sounds of footsteps and vehicles coming their direction. 'Looks like I don't have a choice.' "F-F-fine," he replied, frowning a little as he spoke.
"Wonderful!" The she-demon said happily, her grin growing larger again. "First, I need you to pick up the items that brought you here. Don't worry. I doubt it will activate again."
He gulped at this, and slowly nodded his head, before he crawled over to the skull, picked it up, and stood up in front of her.
"Good. Now, let's go," She said as she gently grabbed his shoulder while reaching her other hand up and slowly twisting it in the air. "And don't worry about your things. They'll come with us." At that, several small demonic shadows with large, white-ridged pointy horns, sharp white teeth, stitches on various parts of their bodies, glowing red eyes, and large round heads that were gray in color appeared out of the darkness before them, before latching onto his things around them.
Before Gavin could respond, everything went black for several seconds with various red glitching symbols of unknown origin appearing in the air around them, before he found himself standing in a large room. Said room had light red wallpaper with an apple design on it with a snake above and around it, with cream trim that had an apple design evenly spaced apart on it. The carpet had similar colors and designs on it, while a large sofa that was red in color with cream pillows that before a large wooden coffee table that had hooved legs. Two fancy black chairs with satin cushions sat in the corner. The room appeared to be rather old, as there was dust everywhere, and the sofa had some rips in the cushions.
"We've arrived," the demon said as she let go of his shoulder and headed over to a red and white door nearby. "Come along now," she continued as she opened the door.
Gavin, still feeling very scared, listened to her, not wanting to make her angry, and stepped through the door, finding himself in a long hallway that had a similar red color scheme like the room he had just been in. The she-demon began leading him down the hallway, prompting him to follow her.
As they walked, he noticed several pictures were hanging on the walls, but couldn't get a look at them due to the she-demon's walking speed.
Eventually, they were nearing the end of the hallway, and he started hearing voices up ahead. The she-demon then turned to him and said, "Wait here till I call for you. And don't run away," before she walked towards the voices at a faster pace.
Gavin obeyed, and stayed where he was, afraid of what might happen if he angered her.
"Husk! That's enough alcohol for today!" A female voice said with some frustration and a Spanish accent. "Tu estúpido gato!"
"Fuck you!" Another female voice said, sounding gravely and slightly drunk. "This is only my second bottle!"
"But it's as big as you!" the first voice replied with anger.
"Whatever," The second voice said.
"Calm down guys," A third voice said. This one was also female, but it sounded…calmer, and nicer. "Husk, could you please drink a smaller bottle?"
Before "Husk" could respond, the she-demon that had found him spoke up.
"Hello everyone!" She said, causing the first voice to groan. "I have some exciting news to share with you!"
"Ohhhhh! Is it a new recipe?!" A fourth female voice said, sounding young and full of energy.
"Haha, no my dear," The she-demon replied with a chuckle. "It is something even better. Something that is sure to bring customers to the hotel!"
"Oh! What is it?!" The third voice asked, excitement in her voice.
"Let me show you," He heard the she-demon say before she called out. "Come on out my good fellow!"
'Fuck I hope this doesn't get worse,' he thought as he started walking towards the end of the hallway.
After several seconds had passed, he entered a large lobby.
The lobby itself was of a decent size and had the same color scheme as the room they'd arrived in earlier. To his left he could see a hallway leading to the front doors, which had yellow and red stained-glass windows in the middle that had eye and apple patterns. The floor was covered in red wood and had some beautiful red rugs with designs on them, as well as lots of gold trim with various designs in them. Multiple pictures hung on the walls, with almost every frame having eyes on it. Lots of boarded up windows sat across the room, with a large, yellow-tinted dome of glass panes sitting in the high ceiling in the middle of it. More windows sat higher up near what could be considered the second floor, with lots of wooden boards across them and a golden fence running around the floor right below the windows, with various eye designs made by spaces in the metal sitting in the fence. It wasn't in super good condition, as the wallpaper was torn and faded in several places, with some of it peeling off to show the black wood and stone behind it. The boards on the windows were cracked, and the three arched glass windows that sat above the wall separating the front doors had lots of cracks running through their blood red panes, with the large eye design on top having surprisingly no damage to it other than looking rather dusty. Overall, it was desperately in need of being repaired and refurbished.
The lobby had a large table sitting in front of a large red and white sofa with teeth on the bottom and sides, as well as eyes on it. Several doors could be seen that were boarded up and had hazard pictures on them. Multiple pillars with the same apple design were scattered around the room, along with some potted plants. Another hallway was located on the opposite side of the room, while a round fireplace that looked almost brand new sat nearby, two skeletons of some sort of animal on either side, positioned to look like they were holding it up.
To his right on the opposite side of the room was a large bar that looked like it had literally been pulled out of a building and just placed where the front desk used to be. It looked quite out of place, with it being mostly made of dark gray wood, and having multiple skulls with green glowing eyes above the bar sign, which read "Caviar Bar." Two signs below it read "Concierge: Welcome!," and "Booze." Both signs were a faded yellow with red lettering and neon green lights around them. Two glass windows sat on either side, each one having a yellow, gray, and white checker pattern surrounded by green.
At the bottom of the front desk were the four card symbols in light green lighting with black outlines.
To his left was another hallway heading back deeper into the building, while a part of the wall formed a sharp corner to the left, making him unsure if another hallway was there or not.
Sitting behind the bar next to a bottle as big as her was a female anthro cat demon who stood 6 feet even. From what he could see, said demon's fur was taupe-colored, overlayed with white fur on her face, torso, large chest, and upper arms. She had long red eyebrows with black vertical stripes near the tips, and a small black heart above each eyebrow. Her eyes were black, with yellow irises and slitted pupils. A pair of large red wings stuck out behind her, with dark taupe on the undersides. The undersides were decorated with black stripes that red and white roulette wheel dot markings. More black stripes, wrapped around the joints to the outside of the wings and ran around a row of white roulette wheel dots. The insides of her ears were white with a red tip at the point and a red heart in the center. A black tuff of fluff protruded from each, creating the appearance of small hearts. Her paws had yellowish-orange hearts on the palms, and a taupe-colored and long tail stuck up from behind her above the counter, ending with a large spray of "plume-like" fur or feathers, which were dark pink with black and white stripes. She was wearing a black top hat with a red hatband, a golden hat decoration that looked like a coin or a button, and a red bowtie.
The other three female demons in the room looked much different from the cat girl, who was hugging the bottle of booze protectively.
The first demon was rather thick, stood 6 foot 1 inches tall, and looked pretty humanoid, with muted lavender-colored skin, and long white hair that went down to her thick thighs and had light pink stripes at the ends. A big pink bow sat on the back of her head. Her right eye had an ivory white iris and light pink sclera, while her left eye was missing and replaced by a pink X on a slate-gray eyepatch. She was wearing a pastel goth style outfit, which consisted of a white mini-dress with slate-gray X's on her large bust, similarly colored scalloped trim to the bottom hem, and a matching belt. She was also wearing slate-gray evening gloves and a choker of the same color. Her right stocking was pale slate-gray and her left stocking was pale slate-gray alternate with light pink stripes down the length. One of the straps of her dress was off-the-shoulder, revealing a slate-gray tank top underneath.
The second female demon was also pretty thick, stood 6 foot 3 inches tall, and looked humanoid as well, with curly long blonde hair with lighter blonde and pink highlights that had her bangs flipped to her left with a curl and pale, almost pure white, skin. She had black lips and red cheeks, as well as black eyes with light yellow sclera. Her eyelids had a contrasting pink shadow and were also decorated with gray eye shadow. She was wearing a small black bow tie, long black suspenders over a white, untucked, long-sleeved shirt that was doing a good job at containing her large breasts, aubergine-colored trousers with red stripes at the end of the legs, and white high-heels with black square tips on the ends of her somewhat short heels.
The third female demon was rather small, standing about 3 feet tall, and had one eye, akin to a cyclops. Her one eye was made of a hot pink and orange sclera with a light yellow iris. She had short and scruffy pink hair with a yellow undertone. Her teeth were sharp and light yellow, and she had pink dots at each end of her mouth. Her attire was themed after the 50s: she was wearing a dark pink scarf, a white shirt with pink dots that appeared to be slightly dripping, along with a pink skirt with a 50's-fashionable dark-pink poodle design with yellow dots. She also had small, pointed limbs, with her legs being dark red in color and her arms and hands being pitch black in color.
All four of the demons had surprised looks on their faces.
Gavin stared at the demons with a scared and nervous look on his face, before suddenly, the little demon was in his face, grinning widely. "A man!" She said with excitement, her pupil shrinking in size as she stared at him.
"Gah!" He cried out as he jumped back and fell on his butt, having been startled by her. "Please stay away from me!" He exclaimed with fright as he scooted backwards until his back hit the wall. "Don't hurt me!"
"Hurt you? Now why would I do that?" The little cyclops asked as she continued to stare at him, her grin shrinking a little bit.
"We're not going to hurt you," The blonde-haired demon added, revealing herself as the owner of the third voice he'd heard. She then began stepping forward, causing him to push himself harder against the wall, trying to keep his distance. This prompted her to stop and gain a sad look on her face. 'Poor thing! He's so scared!' The demon thought as she stared at him.
"Okay Astoria!" The bow-wearing demon said with anger, pulling out a black harpoon with a silver tip and aiming it at the monocle-wearing she-demon threateningly, while her bow puffed up. "What'd you do?!"
"Why, nothing my dear," "Astoria" replied, her grin never leaving her face. "I merely found the young man in Hell."
"Bullshit!" The harpoon-wielding demoness answered angrily, her grip tightening on the harpoon.
"The young man got here by magic," Astoria said matter-of-factly. "But it was not by my doing. It was by the items he has on him right now, as he told me earlier." She then gestured to the skull and pendant Gavin was still holding in his hands. "And besides, if I had the power to leave Hell, I'd have done so already," She continued with her voice getting lower and more glitchy, grinning while her eyes changed to look like radio dials, static appeared around her, and her antlers grew about a foot longer, before she changed back to normal.
'Oh dear God she's terrifying!' Gavin thought as he stared at Astoria with wide eyes.
The bow-wearing demoness frowned at that, and was about to yell at her to explain, when the blonde demoness held up a hand while saying, "Vaggie, calm down." The blonde then spoke to Gavin again. "Please don't be afraid. We're not going to hurt you," She repeated.
"And why should I trust a demon?!" He snapped back, still plastered against the wall. "You're all pure evil! You're just trying to make me put my guard down so you can get me!"
"No! No! Not at all!" The blonde exclaimed with a shake of her head. "We're not all evil."
"Yeah, right," He replied, his eyes narrowing a bit as he stared at her. "You're demons, the very beings of evil."
The blonde sighed at that. "I admit, some of us can be a bit... overzealous. But some of us go against the stereotype. I don't want to hurt you or anything!" She said to him.
He arched an eyebrow at that. "Really?" he asked her. "You don't want to hurt me in any way. No whipping, mutilation, or torture of any kind?"
"No! Not at all!" The blonde replied with a quick shake of her head. "I promise, I won't hurt you."
He stared at her for a couple minutes, looking for anything that would tell him she was lying. But he couldn't see any at all, so he sighed. "Alright," he said as he relaxed a little, and slowly got up onto his feet. "I'll trust you, a little." 'Please don't let this be a trap!' He thought as he looked at her carefully.
"Good," She replied. "So, what is your name?"
"The name's Gavin, miss. Gavin Woodring," Gavin answered, still feeling very nervous.
"Well it's nice to meet you Gavin," The blonde replied with a warm smile. "My name is Charlotte Magne, but please, call me Charlie." She then gestured to the bow-wearing demoness. "This is Vaggie. And you've already met Astoria," She continued as she gestured to the monocle-wearing demoness, whose grin widened a bit as she looked at him, before gesturing to the winged cat demon. "The demon over there is Husk. And-"
"I'm Niffty! It's nice to meet you!" The little cyclops said with excitement and a wave of her hand at him.
"Um, h-hi," He said to the demons nervously. "W-Where am I exactly?"
"You're in the Happy Hotel!" Charlie replied happily. "Here, we aim to redeem demons and sinners in Hell and send them to Heaven to help with the overpopulation here!"
"'Redeem' someone in Hell?" He repeated with confusion. "Is that even possible?"
"I think it is!" Charlie said with determination and a large grin, prompting him to gain a somewhat curious look.
"Have you done it yet?" He asked with a bit of curiosity, prompting the grin on Charlie's face to shrink down and eventually disappear, while Husk chuckled and drank some more alcohol.
"Well, uh, no. Not yet," Charlie replied, her grin shrinking down a bit. "But I know we can do it!" She continued with a large smile reappearing on her face along with a determined look.
"Okay, well, um, that's good to hear, but can you guys send me back home now? I don't want to be in Hell any longer!" he said firmly as he looked at them expectantly.
"Haha!" Astoria laughed loudly, with the sound of an old laugh track playing from her microphone staff as she looked at him. "Oh, my dear boy, we cannot send you back!" She said with a large grin, causing his eyes to widen with alarm while she stepped towards him.
"WHAT?!" Gavin exclaimed with shock.
"You are stuck here with the rest of us, forced to live out the rest of your life here in this place of eternal torment!" Astoria continued with glee as she gestured to the room and beyond with her hands.
"WHAT?!" Gavin repeated with horror as he stared at Astoria.
"Astoria!" Charlie said to the demoness with a frown, causing the sound of static to ring out from around Astoria as she put her arms behind her back and looked at her. "Don't say that!"
"So you have a way for me to get home now?!" he replied with a hopeful look on his face as he looked at her.
"Eheh, well," Charlie began as she slowly turned to look back at him, a strained smile on her face. "Not exactly," She continued, causing the hopeful look on his face to disappear.
"What do you mean, 'not exactly?'" Gavin repeated with an arched eyebrow. "Just use the skull and pendant to send me back," he continued as he took off the pendant and set it around one of the skull's horns, before he held the skull out towards her as far as his arms could reach, still feeling rather unsure about whether he could trust the demoness.
"A-As much as I'd love to get you back home, I…I can't," Charlie replied with an apologetic look on her face, causing his eyes to widen with alarm. "I don't know how to get those things to send you home. I've never seen them before," She continued as she looked at him sadly. "But I promise I'll get you home!" She said quickly as he started to open his mouth, a hopeful smile on her face, while Vaggie looked sharply at her. "It just may take a little while."
"How long?!" Gavin asked her with worry.
"Eheh, a few weeks?" Charlie said hesitantly, while Vaggie put a hand to her face with a sigh.
"'A few weeks?!'" Gavin repeated loudly with shock, his eyes widening even more while he dropped his arms and put one hand to his forehead. "That long?!"
"Sorry!" Charlie replied apologetically as she rubbed one of her arms.
"Oh no!" Gavin said somewhat slowly as he set the skull down and put his hands to his head, starting to pace across the floor. "No no nononononono!" he continued with alarm as he shook his head side to side while he paced. "This can't be happening! I can't be stuck in Hell!"
"Ahh, such a beautiful sight, seeing the hope drain from a person," Astoria said happily as she watched him pace around the lobby and mutter with alarm and worry, causing Vaggie to frown and turn to her. "Don't you think, Vagatha?" she continued, her grin widening ever so slightly.
"Shut it Astoria!" Vaggie growled at her. "You're not helping!" She continued angrily while Gavin rubbed his face with his hands.
"Oh Kami I shouldn't have touched the skull when I saw it in the box!" Gavin groaned as he walked back and forth across the floor. "I should have just left it alone and gotten the postman to take it back!" he continued. "Oh no what am I going to do? What am I going to do?!"
"H-Hey, don't worry!" Charlie said soothingly as she stepped towards him, attempting to calm him down. "Everything will work out! I promise, you'll be home soon!" She continued as she got closer and closer to him.
"'Don't worry?!'" Gavin repeated as he looked at her like she was insane, stopping in his tracks as he spoke. "I'm in Hell! This is the last place I want to be!" he continued as he looked at her. "And I can't leave it for a few weeks according to you!"
"Hey, there's no need to get mad at us!" Vaggie said to him with a frown. "It's not our faults that you ended up here!"
"Vaggie!" Charlie exclaimed with a look of concern. "Don't be mad at him!" She continued, causing Gavin to blink in surprise, as he hadn't expected her to defend him. "He's scared!" She then turned back to the human and smiled comfortingly. "Hey, don't worry. We'll make sure your stay here is comfortable to you," She said to him, causing his eyes to widen with shock.
"What?!" he and Vaggie exclaimed with shock and surprise, as well as alarm in Vaggie's voice.
"You want me to stay here?!" Gavin continued as he stared at Charlie. 'What the hell is she planning?!' He thought with confusion and a bit of worry.
"Excellent idea Miss Morningstar!" Astoria said with a very large grin as she stepped over to Gavin and rested her arm across his shoulder, making his eyes widen and prompting him to clutch the skull tightly with nervousness and fear. "I've already taken the liberty of moving his things to a room, so I'll take this young joe there now!" She continued before she started to walk away, pulling Gavin along as she went towards the hallway they had come out of earlier.
"Charlie, sweetie, I love you, but we can't keep him here!" Vaggie said to Charlie firmly as she gestured to the hallway Gavin had gone down once she was certain they were out of earshot. "All it takes is one slipup, and we'll be invaded by demons from all parts of Hell trying to get their hands on him! You know how big a deal this is!"
"I know, but Vaggie, we can't put him on the street!" Charlie replied firmly, gesturing emphatically with her hands. "It'd be against my message of helping those in need!"
"But Charlie honey, it's too risky!" Vaggie said earnestly as she looked at her girlfriend. "Astoria's reputation won't be enough to keep them back when news gets out that a human, a completely unaltered human, is here in Hell."
"You mean if news gets out," Charlie replied with a wide smile, causing Vaggie to frown.
"Charlie, honey, no! We can't!"
"Oh come on Vaggie! We can keep the news about him being here quiet!" Charlie said with a growing smile as she held her girlfriend's hands with hers. "Everyone here can keep his presence here a secret!" She continued as she looked over at Niffty and Husk, who was drinking more alcohol from the giant bottle. "Right?"
"Oh yes I can keep that man's presence a secret! A very, very big secret!" Niffty said quickly while a massive grin appeared on her face, before her lone eye spotted something moving down another hallway in the shadows. "Oh! A rat!" She continued as she pulled out a large machete from underneath her skirt before she ran off like a rocket. "Come here you rat! No dirty dirty dirty things in this hotel!"
"And Husk, what about you?" Charlie asked the feline demoness.
"Eh, as long as he doesn't bother me or my alcohol, I don't care," Husk replied, before she poured herself another cup of booze and downed it in one gulp. "He can fucking streak through the hotel for all I care."
"Heheh, I doubt he'll do that, but thanks for agreeing Husk!" Charlie said with an uneasy chuckle, before she turned her head back to Vaggie. "See?! We can keep him being here a secret!"
"But honey, what about Astoria, Crymini, and Angela?" Vaggie replied with concern. "We can't convince them to keep a secret so easily!"
"Oh, I'm sure I can convince them to keep him a secret!" Charlie said reassuringly to her girlfriend. "After all, we convinced Angela to become our first patron!" She continued with a large smile, causing Vaggie to groan and put a hand to her face as Charlie walked off to the kitchen, hungry for a snack.
"Oh, this isn't going to go well," She groaned with dismay, before she sighed and walked after Charlie.
Meanwhile…
"So, my dear joe, I hope you find your stay here one to die for!" Astoria said with a grin still on her face as they walked down the hallway, with a laugh track playing from her microphone for a second before it stopped.
'Oh sweet Kami what have I gotten myself into?!' Gavin thought with alarm as he stared straight ahead, feeling a bead of sweat run down his forehead as they walked.
"Now then, this shall be your room, dear human!" Astoria continued as she came to a stop in front of a door that had a large black metal "13" hung on the wall to the right of it, prompting him to stop as well. Said door was red with white trim and had a large reddish pink wooden heart that was put on slightly crooked, with a large crack running through the heart. "I hope you find it to your liking," She continued as she levitated up a small black key with a red eye in the middle of the heart-shaped handle and slid it into the lock of the door, located right beneath the round doorknob that had scale-like designs on it.
She then turned the key and pushed the door open, revealing his room and flicked on a red and cream colored light switch, which turned on a dome-shaped golden-yellow light on the center of the dark red ceiling, before levitating the key over to him. "This is your key for the room. Make sure not to lose it," Astoria said as she looked at him, her eyes narrowing ever so slightly as she spoke.
"I-I-I won't," Gavin stammered as he took the key with a somewhat shaky hand, before he hurried into the room and slammed the door shut behind him, locking it as quickly as he could.
Astoria stared at the shut door for a couple minutes, before her grin widened, and she headed back down the hallway, her microphone playing a somewhat jaunty jazz tune as she went. 'This is going to be a lot of fun!' She thought with glee.
"Oh fuck! I am so screwed!" Gavin exclaimed as he rested his back against the door, clutching the key and skull tightly as he stood there. "I'm in Hell! I'm stuck in Hell!" he continued with alarm as he stayed against the door. "Oh Kami what am I going to do?! What am I going to do?!"
As he freaked out about his situation, he absentmindedly took note of how his room was decorated, and his eyes widened with surprise. On the walls, which were covered in dark red wallpaper with pink hearts on them, were his posters of various animals, both real and mythical as well as some video games. Against one wall rested the dark brown wooden rectangular headboard of his bed, with his used king-sized mattress sitting in front of it, covered in dark green sheets and an animal-themed fuzzy blanket. Two fat pillows covered in red fox themed pillowcases sat at the head of the bed, while a tall dark brown nightstand sat to the right of the bed, a black electric alarm clock sitting on top and plugged in to a horned red outlet in the wall. His living room flatscreen TV sat against the wall opposite the bed on top of his small black rectangular entertainment center, while a small dark green garbage can sat to the right of the main door. Another red door sat to the left of his TV, with a few deep long scratches in the wood and on the round brass knob. Several soundproof tiles sat in a pile in the far-left corner along with his two guitar cases, keyboard, microphone, laptop, and camera along with some other sound equipment he'd gotten used, while a large light brown bookcase filled with lots of books on the shelves sat right next to the entertainment center to the right of it. Two large windows sat in the wall exactly opposite him, with both of them having red curtains on them that had seen better days, as the gold thread that ran through the bottoms was missing in several places, and large holes were in them as well, while the red light of the sky came into the room. His light brown wardrobe sat to the left of his bed, while a desk sat underneath the left window with a large black swivel rolling chair with a bright green cushion for a seat set in front of it.
"How the fuck did she get it to look exactly like my room when I was on Earth?!" He exclaimed with shock and a bit of fright as he slowly stepped forward, looking around carefully as he did so. "I mean, everything's in its proper place!" He continued, before he set the key and the skull on the bed and started to rummage through everything, making sure he hadn't lost something
As he searched the room, he spotted a pair of pink double doors with lots of black slats sitting in the wall to the right of his bed and nightstand, piquing his curiosity. He pulled the doors open with ease and found that it was a large closet full of his clothes, shoes, and stored things that he had kept in his smaller closet back on Earth. "Man, this closet is like twice as big as the one I had before!" He exclaimed with shock and awe as he closed the doors, before he headed over to the other door in the room. "I presume this leads to a bathroom," He continued, apprehension filling his voice as he reached out to the doorknob. "Oh, what will a bathroom in Hell look like?" He questioned, images of toilets covered in sharp spikes and skulls appearing in his head along with more gory images, such as a sink made of skin. "Oh, I hope it's not like those images that people post online," he continued as he grabbed the knob and gently turned it, causing a sharp squeak of metal to ring out and make him wince before he pushed the door forward, revealing the bathroom.
The bathroom was somewhat small, with the floor covered in blood red tile that was cracked in a few places. Black tiles lined the edges of the floor, while the walls were a gentle gold color, a few irregular splotches of black on them. The sink was rather large and bright silver in color, with the counter and cabinet it was set in colored a bright red color. The knobs of the sink were gold in color and shaped like small serpents. A large mirror sat above the sink, with gold serpents, hearts, and apples running around the edge, and two large heart-shaped golden lamps on the top corners of the mirror, which he turned on via a red light switch to his left. To his left was a decently sized black toilet with a gold lever, and to his right was a combined bath and shower that was also black in color and had gold on the knobs, nozzle, and showerhead, with gold hearts and snakes running across the bottom and sides of the bath. His sea-green shower curtain and liner hung on the golden shower rod right next to the bath, pulled to one side. There was also a small closet door that was black in color with a gold heart-shaped knob, and another golden heart-shaped light in the ceiling above the bath, which he found was turned on via a gold switch to his right.
"Dang, this was not what I expected for a bathroom in Hell!" Gavin said with surprise and relief in his voice as he stepped inside. "I mean, there's no apparent torture device in here," He continued, taking note of his toiletries, sheets, and towels being placed in the cabinets and closet as he explored the bathroom thoroughly. "Not a single one! And nothing seems to have been stolen either," he finished as he stepped back out of the bathroom back into the bedroom.
As he looked around his room, happy nothing had been stolen, his happy look disappeared as he remembered his situation quickly. "Oh Kami what am I going to do?" He questioned as he walked over to his bed and got on it, pushing the skull to the side and putting the key on the nightstand before he laid on his back, facing the ceiling. "What am I going to do? I'm stuck here for a few weeks according to that female demon named 'Charlie,'" He continued before he thought, 'What an odd name for a demon, much less a demoness.' "And I don't even know if she's telling the truth. I mean, she seemed like she was, but she is a demon, so maybe she's trying to trick me. Ughhhh, I don't know what to do or think!" He groaned with frustration, before he put a hand to his face and rolled over onto his side.
Then, he reached down under his bed and pulled out a rather large clear flat bin with a dark blue lid. He opened the bin, revealing a two-foot tall kitsune plushy with dark purple fur, nine fluffy tails that were each a foot long, and gray eyes, as well as an 8 foot long dark green emerald boa constrictor that had large light blue diamonds on its very fat body and black eyes. He grabbed them out and pulled them onto the bed, wrapping himself up in the snake plush before he held the kitsune close to him in his arms. "Oh, what am I going to do?" he questioned as he laid there, staring at the closet doors. "I'm going to die here, aren't I?" He continued with a sad look, before tears began to form in his eyes as he became more and more emotional.
About ten seconds passed, before he started to cry, pressing his face into the front of the kitsune's body as he did so. 'I don't want to die in Hell! I want to live a long life and die on Earth! Not at the age of 18 again!' He thought sadly, an old and painful memory popping up in his head as he laid there. 'I want to get a girlfriend, and get a good job, and get married, and have lots of kids! I can't do that here in Hell! I'm screwed!' He continued, before his sobs started to get louder. 'And I'm stuck in a hotel that has some demons in it who more than likely want to kill me! Oh, what am I going to do?!'
Gavin fretted and sobbed about his current situation for what felt like an hour, before he heard a small high-pitched "Mew" from nearby. 'Was that a cat?' He questioned as he started to raise his head from the soaked front of his plushie, rubbing his eyes to clear them of the tears.
"Mrow!"
He heard another catlike sound ring out from the door, before he heard a "Fwoof!" and saw a golden red flash of light at the handle of the door, with a blurry object seemingly floating down to the floor. "What the heck?" He questioned as he rubbed his eyes with his hand a bit more, wanting to see what the heck had entered his room.
After a few seconds of intense rubbing, his vision fully cleared, and his eyes widened greatly upon seeing what had entered his room.
It appeared to be a cat of some sort. A small cat with short scruffy black fur covering the entirety of its body except for what he could see of its belly, which had bright white fur on it. Its forelegs had white fur running from the tips of its paws all the way to just before its elbows, with its long tail, which appeared to be two, maybe three times as long as its body, having a white square pattern covering the end of it. Its ears were rather pointy and black in color, with a singular white spot sitting on the insides right below each tip of the ear, facing each other. Its face was covered in white, with a singular large pale-yellow eye looking right at him with a red iris and black pupil in the center of its face, while thick fringes of fur framed the sides of its face. Finally, a bright red collar with a round gold tag hung in the front around its neck.
"How the heck did you get in-Holy shit!" he exclaimed as the cat walked up into the air, seemingly levitating, which prompted him to sit up and scoot back, clutching his kitsune plush with one hand. "You can float! Oh my Kami you can float!" he continued, while the cat continued to head towards him, its eye blinking a few times as it went. "Holy shit! Stay back!" he ordered the feline, which he presumed was a demon. "Stay back!"
The feline did not stay back. Instead, it moved forward quicker, soon reaching the bed in a matter of seconds, before it leaped onto his lap, prompting him to freeze in place while he stared at it. 'Oh Kami I'm going to die!' He thought as he stared at the cat demon, who stared at him with its lone eye for about thirty seconds, before it floated up towards his head, causing his eyes to widen greatly. 'Oh fuck!'
Then, it reached his head and rubbed its cheek against his right cheek while purring loudly, causing a shocked expression to appear on his face.
'Is it…not attacking me?' he questioned as the cat continued to rub its head against his cheek, before it rolled over onto its back in the air in front of him, looking at him with its one eye. 'Is it…being friendly?' He continued as he stared at the cat for several seconds, before he slowly reached a hand towards its belly, and touched it with his fingers, causing the cat to let out a "Mrow" and purr more as it stared back at him.
"Well…hello there, little demon cat," Gavin said apprehensively as he started to gently rub its belly, waiting for it to open its mouth and reveals lots of fangs and multiple tongues and rip off his hand. "What are you doing here?" He continued as a smile appeared on his face, as the cat had let out a very cute "Mew" and rolled around to its side in the air while wiggling its tail a bit, prompting him to gently scratch at its side. "Are you lost? Do you belong to someone here?"
"Mew!" The cat meowed as it stretched out its limbs, letting out sharp white claws from its paws as it did so before retracting them several seconds later.
"I'll take that as a maybe," Gavin said with a smile, feeling himself relax more as he pet the cat demon, who slowly lowered itself down onto his lap as it rolled back onto its back. "You know, you're not quite what I expected for a cat demon," He continued as he slowly and gently pet its belly, causing it to reach its paw up and pull his arm closer to its snout, which made him chuckle. "Heh, I mean, I figured you'd try to rip my face off upon seeing more, or drain my soul from my body, like I've been told in shows, books, and movies. But honestly, other than the floating and the single eye, you're just like any other cat."
The demon sniffed his hand intently for several seconds, her pupil becoming very narrow/slitted as it did so, before its tail flicked, and it licked his hand with a bright pink forked tongue, causing him to chuckle again as he watched the pupil spread open again. "Heh, and you have a forked tongue of course," he continued as he set his plushy down and slowly reached his other hand out to its tail. "But other than that, you're like any ordinary cat on Earth," he finished, a sad look appearing on his face as he continued to pet the cat, who sniffed and licked his fingers with interest as he did so.
He then sighed after a few minutes had passed. "I don't know what to do, kitty," He said as the cat rolled over onto its front and looked up at him with its lone eye. "I'm not supposed to be in Hell, but thank to this stupid skull and pendant here," He continued as he gestured to said items, which were still on the bed. "I'm here now, and I don't know why. Heck, I don't even know why those things were in the package I got!"
He sighed deeply and dragged a hand down his face while closing his eyes. "I want some answers, and I want to be back on Earth now!" He said firmly. "But apparently I can't leave for a few weeks cause Charlie doesn't know how to use those things to send me back!" he growled, causing the cat to move back a bit with a wide eye and arched back.
Upon seeing that, Gavin sighed once more. "Sorry," he apologized, reaching out towards the cat with one hand, which prompted it to back up a bit more. "I just, I just want to go home," he continued sadly, looking down at his lap as a tear formed in his eye and started to roll down his cheek. "I don't want to be here."
He stared at his lap for several seconds, with him seeing the tear fall down and hit his shorts, before he felt warm fur rub against his chin and neck as a loud purr hit his ears. "Aw, thank you," he said with a smile as he rubbed his eye with one hand and rubbed the back of the cat demon with the other as it walked past his neck, brushing against his skin the entire time. "That's a nice kitty!" he continued as he petted the cat some more, before his stomach growled loudly with hunger, catching his attention.
"Oh! It must be snacktime," He said before he reached into his pocket and pulled out his gray touchscreen phone to look at the time. Then, his eyes widened with surprise. "It's five o'clock?! I thought it was around three!" he continued, shocked that he'd been crying for over two and a half hours. "No wonder I'm hungry!" He finished as he put his phone back in his pocket, before he looked at the door with a frown.
"But I'll have to go out of my room to get to wherever the kitchen is, which is probably where Astoria put my food," He muttered with annoyance, wondering where the rest of his furniture was as well while also feeling rather nervous about going out of his room. "And I don't want to have to deal with any more demons," He continued, causing the cat to let out a "Mrow" at him, its eye narrowing a bit as it looked at him. "Besides you, of course, sweet kitty," he said quickly as he rubbed its back while it walked on the air around his head and laid down in front of his face, its eye looking at him intently. His stomach then growled again, causing him to sigh and rub his face with a hand.
"Ohhhh maaaan!" He groaned as he rubbed his face for several seconds, sighing again while the cat watched him. "Well I can't stay in here forever without having to get food, as much as I'd like to do that," He muttered with disappointment, before he slowly got off the bed, causing the cat to get up and levitate away from the bed. He then set his kitsune plush on the bed against the pillow, with the boa constrictor plush curled up and towering over it, and grabbed the key to his room. "I'll just have to be very quick about it, so they don't have a chance to do things to me!" He continued, before he turned his attention to the skull and pendant on his bed. "And as for you, I think I'll put you over here," he said as he picked up the skull and carried it over to the bookshelves, where he set it on an empty shelf in the middle of the right side of the bookcase, facing towards the front, as he found that when he tried to keep it facing away from him, the shelf was just short enough that it would fall off if he let go. "Well I hope I don't get nightmares from you looking at me when I sleep," he continued as he looked at the skull, before he turned his attention to the pendant that had dragged him into his current situation. "And as for you…hmmmmmmm."
He hummed long and hard as he put his hand to his chin while he looked at the pendant in greater detail. Said pendant was palm-sized and the gold had no marks on them, with the red gem being circular in shape and somewhat domed on top. The gold necklace was not completely gold colored, as he had first observed. Instead, it was a yellowish gold with orangish solid gold circular links scattered about it. "Well, hmm, maybe I should take you with me in case you try to do something while I'm gone," he said somewhat hesitantly, before he slowly reached out to the necklace. He held his breath as he reached out and touched it, afraid it might do something, and let out a large sigh of relief when nothing happened, prompting him to take the necklace and pocket it. "Alright, guess it's on to the kitchen to grab a bite to eat," he continued as he turned towards the door, where he saw the cat was waiting for him in the air, its tail slowly swaying underneath it. "I hope my food supplies ended up in there, and weren't destroyed or something," he muttered as he headed towards the door, prompting the cat to turn and float right towards the lock.
"I'll get the doo…" He trailed off as the cat slipped through the keyhole of the door like it was made of water, compressing down and sliding through it with a golden red flash of light. "…nevermind," he said after several seconds had passed, blinking a few times. 'Well, that explains how it got into my room,' He thought as he reached the door and slowly opened it, revealing the cat was waiting for him in the air on the other side. 'I didn't think it could do that!' he continued as he peeked his head out to see if anyone else was around, only stepping out once he saw the coast was clear.
Well, this was an interesting chapter!
Can't wait to write more!
Now, I know some of you are upset that he didn't turn into a demon when he arrived in Hell. Well, remember Billy the rude boy in the Helluva Boss Pilot (Albeit it isn't canon, but still). He was brought to Hell while still alive and wasn't turned into a demon.
And again, thanks to PyroFox117 for their help! Go check out their wonderful stories!
"Joe" is slang for "a average guy."
Part 2 should be coming soon!
