Peeta and Katniss were about to tell Katniss's mom about them living together, they made dinner and had her sit down, "so mom, me and Peeta talked and decided to move in together" Katniss prepared for the worst "ok" "ok? You're not mad" her mom sighed "it's gonna happen no matter what might as well not start an argument" Katniss and peeta smiled. So now they are packing up Katniss's stuff and bringing it to their house, their house man that sounds good. That's how their new normal started, they would wake up together go over to her moms eat breakfast peeta would paint and Katniss would read or hunt. (1 month later) (everything that happened in the movie leading up to this point happenedexcept for the gale kiss) Katniss walked into victors village, today was tour day, she walked into Haymitch's house and of course he was knocked out, she looked around and saw the water, she grabbed it put as much distance as possible and dumped the water on him, he woke up and swung his knife everywhere trying to get the bad guy before he realized it was me, he stalked towards me but I put my hand in his chest and sat him down, "if you wanted to be babied you should have asked peeta" Katniss said, "ask me what" peeta asked walking into the room holding two loaves of bread "to wake me up with out soaking me" haymitch answered then continued "you are insanely unlikable person" she smirked and put two vodka bottles in front of him, "but you have you perks" she smiled and walked over to Peeta giving him a quick peck, "you want some?" He asked pointing towards the bread, "no thanks, I ate at the hob" Katniss said resting her head on his shoulder, "ugh you two are disgustingly adorable" Haymitch complained "oh you love us" Peeta teases him and Haymitch just grunts, "alright i promised my mom I would say hi" she kisses Peeta's cheek saying "love you" "love you too" he said smiling.
Katniss walked into her house and her mom walks up saying "enjoy your walk sweetheart" "walk-" "we have guests" her mom says and two capitol guards approached "someone needs to talk to you" one of them said in a gruff voice. she followed them into the study where president snow was sitting, "hello miss Everdeen" he gestured for her to sit, "now I believe this will go faster if we both promise not to lie to each other" snow says and she nods, "now I have a problem miss Everdeen, a problem that started as soon as you took those berries out, now your little love story worked in the capital but not everyone believes it in the districts" he says sitting back "it is real" she says through gritted teeth he smirks "I thought we agreed not to lie to each other" she was about to say more but he put his finger up to stop her, "the districts think you did it out of rebellion so I need you to convince the districts to believe you" she gulped "no I'll do you one better" he stood up walked to her and whispered in her ear "convince me" he gave her a white rose and said "or your family will pay" then walked away. (I know that was not canon at all but this story ain't canon so) Katniss walked out and her lover asked "is everything ok" Katniss faked a smile "yes everything is fine, they don't show it but the president always visits the victors before the tour" she says and her mother seemed to believe her. After a few minutes Effie trinket walked in and rushed to Katniss hugging her "oh how I've missed you" "I missed you too Effie" her prep team came up and made a fuss about her not keeping herself up since the games, then Cinna walked in and Katniss hugged him tighter then anyone else, when they pulled apart he asked "everything ok?" "Yeah just tired" before she could say more her prep team were dragging her up the stairs.
they were supposed to walk from opposite houses to greet each other on camera, "alright she's perfect! Time to feed the monster" Effie says pushing her outside. She gets nervous but then sees Peeta walking out of their house and she can breath again. They walk up to each other smiling. When they go in for a hug they slip and fall, "oh trouble in paradise" I hear ceaser say, she sits up and bit so she's not completely on top of him, when their eyes lock she can't resist, she leans down and kisses him.
they do the small interview and pose for pictures. "And done!" Effie says clapping.
they get on the train after saying goodbye to everyone.
"Effie please" Katniss says giving Effie her best puppy dog eyes, "ok but only if you promise no canoodling" "what's canoodling" Katniss says confused "Katniss" Peet's says in a low voice and she realizes what Effie means, "oh yeah don't worry!" Effie walks off mumbling about how they never listen.
Katniss and Peeta are in bed just enjoying each other's presence, she wants to tell him about snows threats she really does but she can't risk it, she already almost lost him once, it's not happening again.
first stop district eleven. Rues home.
