A/N: Just a cute fluffy anniversary oneshot for the wonderful Cim (nancysgillians on tumblr, ohjeezglee on ao3) :)
Blaine watches the light on Kurt's bare back, gentle breeze rustling through the branches outside their window casting dancing streams of sunlight across pale skin. Kurt sturs, a quiet sniffling hmph sound as he snuggles into his pillow, eyes still closed.
"Good morning, beautiful," Blaine says softly, eyes glittering as he watches Kurt's face now.
Kurt opens one eye and meets Blaine's gaze. "Morning," he mumbles, and then closes his eye again.
Blaine brings a hand to Kurt's hair, cards his fingers through the soft strands, rubs a little at Kurt's scalp. Kurt sighs happily, tilts his head a little to give Blaine a better angle.
Blaine chuckles a little. "You like that, do you?"
"Mmm," Kurt hums in agreement, smile tugging at the corner of his lips, and his eyes flutter open. "Good morning," he says, a little more coherent this time.
"Happy anniversary," Blaine says, and then leans over to press a kiss to Kurt's lips.
"Happy anniversary," Kurt repeats, and then adds, "you have morning breath."
Blaine laughs. "So do you," he counters with a grin."
"Mm, probably," Kurt agrees, wearing a similar grin on his face.
There's a clanging sound somewhere downstairs, and they both look toward the doorway.
"Do you think we should be worried?" Blaine asks, looking back to Kurt.
Kurt meets his eyes and just shrugs, "Probably," but neither of them move to get up.
"How long do you think they'll be busy down there?" Kurt asks, hand beginning to trace aimlessly across Blaine's chest.
"Probably a while," Blaine muses.
"Hmm, good," Kurt says, shifting slightly so he's in a better position to lean over and press his lips to Blaine's cheek, down his jawline, until he's mouthing at Blaine's neck.
"Kurt," Blaine gasps, quiet, a little breathless.
"Mhm?" Kurt hums, lips ghosting across Blaine's skin.
"I love you so much," is Blaine's response, and he pulls Kurt on top of him, legs tangling together under the blankets.
Kurt continues pressing kisses into Blaine's neck as Blaine mewls beneath him, fingers of one hand gripping tight in Kurt's hair and the other at his back, until there's a knock on their bedroom door.
"Dad? Papa?" their daughter's voice calls through the door.
Blaine groans just a little, quiet so the kids won't hear.
"Don't worry," Kurt says softly, placing a soft kiss to Blaine's cheek, "we can pick up where we left off later."
Kurt rolls back to his side of the bed and calls, "Come in, honey."
The door creaks open and their daughter, Sophia, pads in carrying a tray full of food, her younger brother Lucas trailing behind her.
"We made you breakfast in bed!" Lucas says excitedly, bouncing a little.
"I can see that," Blaine says, eyes lighting up a little, "what a nice surprise!"
"Thank you so much," Kurt says, taking the tray Sophia offers and placing it carefully on the bed between himself and Blaine. "And what do we have here?"
"I made the coffee and scrambled eggs," Sophia says, "and Lucas made the toast and got the fruit."
Kurt picks up his cup of coffee and inhales the scent, smiling happily. Blaine surveys the contents of the tray, picks up a piece of slightly burnt toast.
"It looks amazing," Blaine says, "thank you. Come up and sit with us while we eat," Blaine invites, and Kurt and Blaine sit up a bit, making room for the kids.
Sophia and Lucas climb onto the bed, Sophia sitting cross-legged and Lucas settling on his knees.
"Do you like it?" Lucas asks as Blaine takes the first bite of the toast he'd picked up.
Blaine takes a moment to chew and swallow before responding, "It's very good."
"I told you it wasn't burnt," Lucas says to Sophia, and she scowls back at him a little.
"He has to say that, he's our dad," she retorts.
"It's all perfect," Kurt says, hint of a warning in his voice, and then he places his coffee down to pop a piece of strawberry into his mouth.
"Happy anniversary," Sophia says, dropping the argument.
"Thank you, Soph," Blaine says, smiling warmly before taking a bite of the eggs she'd made. "Oh, these are delicious. They may be the best scrambled eggs I've ever had."
Sophia giggles a little. "You're lying," she argues.
"I'm not," Blaine says, eyes wide. "I would never lie about that."
She giggles some more. "Yes you would."
"Maybe we need a second opinion," Kurt reasons, gathering a portion of eggs on his own fork and then taking them into his mouth. He chews, a serious expression on his face as he deliberates, and then swallows them.
"Well?" Lucas asks eagerly.
Kurt ponders a moment longer before responding, looking right at Sophia. "Your dad is right," Kurt says. "These are the best scrambled eggs I've ever had too."
She giggles again. "I put cheese in them," she says proudly.
"Ah, that must be what it is," Blaine says, taking another bite of eggs. "Cheese makes everything better."
"Especially cake," Lucas chimes in helpfully.
"That's right," Kurt agrees with a grin.
They continue eating and chatting, sharing some of the food with the kids, until the plates are empty.
"We'll go wash these," Sophia says, climbing off the bed and grabbing the tray of empty dishes.
"Do we have to?" Lucas complains, pouting at his sister.
"Yes," she says firmly, "it's their anniversary."
"Fine," he groans, climbing off the bed and following her out of the room.
They sit in silence for a few moments, listening to the kids walk further down the hallway and down the stairs.
"So," Blaine starts, turning to Kurt, "about picking up where we left off…?"
Kurt laughs lightly, grinning. "That will have to wait a bit," he replies, instead climbing out of the bed and stretching his arms high over his head. "Right now we need to get ready for the day. We have plans at noon."
"We do?" Blaine asks curiously.
"Mhm," Kurt hums, his back to Blaine as he walks toward the ensuite, "we do. And you don't get to find out what they are unless you get up."
"Fine," Blaine says. "But if we have places to be, I think we should shower together. You know, to save time."
Kurt turns to look at Blaine over his shoulder, an eyebrow raised. "I don't think that's going to save any time."
"Well then, to save water," Blaine reasons, "the environment will thank us."
Kurt rolls his eyes fondly and continues into the bathroom. "If you want to shower with me, you better get in here now."
"I'm right behind you," Blaine says quickly, skipping across the room to the bathroom.
