A Musicians Battle
Kurama Sage
Hey everyone here's a new story that I've had in my head for a while now. It will be a purely OC story from their perspective throughout the story. There will be comedy and musical performances. I know that some of you who have read my old stories that I never finished before an I want to apologize for that. I lost all of the data I had to write those stories and didn't want to have to read through the old chapters on the site to try and find all of the stories so I could continue it so here is a new one that I plan on updating every other day or so. Kurama Sage out!
The Beginning of Change
It was a starry night at the juvenile detention center in Atlanta, Georgia. A lone figure was sitting in his bed staring at the moon. He stood six feet at seventeen years old. He had his dreads tied into a ponytail with the sides shaved and tattoos all down his arms. He had caramel colored skin and deep blue eyes that made you think you were staring at the ocean. This was Damien Black, and he was in juvie for killing his mom's boyfriend in revenge after he witnessed him killing his mother. He had been in lock up for a year doing nothing but keeping to himself and writing music. The only thing keeping him calm and waiting to get out was seeing his daughter's face again. He felt as if his life was filled with death since it was not just the two of them with the mother of his child dying in childbirth and her parents hating him and blaming him for it. He didn't even know who his father was, just knowing that he had been in jail in Britain since he was one year old with his mom having moved to the states during the war they had going on over there. He didn't hate his dad, he just wished that he was there and maybe none of this would've happened.
He heard the door opening and knew that it shouldn't be possible since the only person on duty was in the room with them. He turned and didn't see anything out of the ordinary. The guard didn't even notice anything was wrong and he himself thought he was just hearing things until he saw a flash of red and the guard being knocked out. Now this got him curious as he was the only wizard in the area. He noticed the figure drop their disillusionment and cast a wide area stunner that knocked everyone out except for him since he dropped to the floor. He was now on guard wondering who this person was as they looked around to survey what they did and look for something. When the person started walking towards where his bed was, he got even more on guard.
"Mr. Black you don't have to hide I'm not here to hurt you." A feminine voice sounded next to his bed.
Cautiously he started to get up and stare at the woman who he noticed had auburn hair and a monocle in her right eye. He tried not to look at her impressive chest and after a moment won the battle. "And who are you exactly? Because I'm pretty sure I'm the only wizard here."
The woman nodded her head in agreement. "Yes, that you are. Well Mr. Black, my name is Amelia Bones. I'm the head of the DMLE in London. I'm here in regard to your parents."
Now this confused Damien. "And what about my parents do you have to tell me? Last I checked my mom died last year so you're a little bit late there, and my dad is locked up in Azkaban as far as I know. As of right now the only thing I care about is finishing my year here and holding my daughter again." He replied with a blank face.
Madam Bones just sighed and rubbed her forehead. "You are just like your grandfather you know that?"
"Wouldn't know never met the man. Last I heard was he died after I was born."
At this she shook her head, "Your grandfather isn't dead. He's still very much alive and one of the things we need to talk about. Now as I was sayin-"
"Who the hell told you I was dead you little brat?" a loud booming voice echoed from behind the woman and made Damien jump in shock. A man standing roughly six foot three walked into the room with an intimidating presence about him. It was like him just being in the room demanded you to give you his respect.
Amelia just sighed, "Lord Black you could've let me finish first before you just barged into the room."
The now named Lord Black turned to Madam Bones, "And watch you continue to fumble with one of my last living family members and heir? Not a chance."
Now Damien was thoroughly confused at this point. Heir? Last living family member? Just what the hell was going on with his family overseas that made them have to come and find him now? "Ok lets back track here for a second. Why are you looking for me? Its not like I've changed locations in the past seventeen years. I've lived in Atlanta my entire life. What makes now any different from you attempting to reach out to me and my mother before?" At this point Damien had developed his business like face that he usually used on the producers and managers that tried to sign him to a label. "As it stands right now I only care about two things, seeing my daughter again, and writing and recording my music. So what do you want now that makes me all of a sudden relevant?"
At this point Lord Black let out a booming laugh at Damien that almost made him jump in surprise. "Now that right there is why I'm here. You see I've known where you are from the moment your mother left the continent. Did you really think that someone who was having a child of the Black family was going to just be able to disappear into thin air without me knowing about it? No boy I know where every member of my family is located at including your innocent father."
Now he had both Madam Bones and Damien's attention. "What do you mean innocent Lord Black? Sirius Black was tried and convicted of killing Peter Pettigrew and being the one to leak the hiding place of James and Lily Potter. Everyone knows this fact."
Lord Black turned to look at Amelia with indifference, "Well I beg to differ on that fact since he never even had a trial. The only reason he isn't still named my heir despite his stellar record as an auror, is his attitude. First, he abandons his family in the Blacks to go gallivanting with his cousin James, then he all but ignores his family's ways and traditions, and finally he gets himself thrown into Azkaban without even getting a trial. Even his son got a trial for his case and only got a year in this muggle place. The only good thing that he did was send that woman out of the continent to get her away from the war going on even though he never had the chance to get them back over to Britain because the Minister is a fucking idiotic cock muncher."
Now Damien's head was spinning at the information he just received. "Ok, but that still doesn't answer the question on why you are here now. So, I ask again what do you want?"
Lord Black nodded in respect, "Straight to the point I can respect that. The reason that we are here is because I want you to come back to Britain and help me rebuild the Black family to the way it was supposed to be."
At this Damien just snarled at the man, "You mean as the blood purists that my mother told me about? Thanks but no thanks. I didn't make it this far by caring about peoples blood status, hell I dated a freaking werewolf for a couple months. Like I said, I only care about doing right by my daughter and making my music."
At this Lord Black drew up to his full height and let some of his power out, making Damien sweat a little bit. "Now listen here boy, the Black family is not a family of blood purists. It is a family that puts blood first. Tourjus Pur. But it seems that some of my family members misconstrued what that meant and turned it into blood purity. It actually means family first. No matter what happens, the family will always come first over anyone. You are already living up to that motto today due to the fact that you are here. If it was me, I would've hunted the bastard that killed your mother and fed him his own intestines. You don't go against the Black family and expect to come out the other side alive. Now watch your tone boy."
Near the end of his rant Damien had stood and up started to project his own power out shocking Lord Black and Madam Bones, "Don't think you can just come in here and try and lecture me old man. You may be my grandfather, but you will not try to talk down to me like you've been there for me my entire life. The only person I've had is my mother. Don't think that now that she's been dead for a year that you can come in here and try to lecture me about what it means to be family. Now get to the point. Why would I even go with you to Britain when I still have to finish school? I've already been held back a year due to being in juvie for the past year, and having been told that I can't go back to Ilvermorny when I get out. So give me one good reason that I would go with you."
Lord Black stared at him for a few seconds before letting out a loud bellowing laugh. "Oh I was right about you boy, you will make the perfect heir. You don't squat down in fear like Narcissia's little spawn. You actually have a back bone. You said what can you get out of this? Its very simple. You are your daughter will come under the care of the Black family. Not me specifically, but your Godmother Andromeda. She is who you would be going to stay with anyway unless you decided to stay here and get a job, but then you wouldn't be able to finish school. So you will live with her with your daughter while getting training from me in how to be the next Black of Blacks. I will make it so that you can attend Hogwarts which shouldn't be a problem anyway because I've seen your grades. Your at the top of your class and still manage to do your music. You will have to be held back a year though due to you missing your fourth year so you will start there. The only reason that Madam Bones is here is so she can be an intermediate party in this little negotiation and to wipe your record clean for this. If you decide to take my offer then I will get you out of here tomorrow and we will be on our way. So make your choice." He finished with a hard look in his eye.
At this point Damien sighed and wandlessly summoned his stress balls to clear his head shocking both Lord Black and Madam Bones. He tuned the world out as he weighed the pros and cons of going to Britain against staying in the States. Everything pointed to going to Britain but he had a few worries and knew just how to address them. "Fine," he stated finally opening his eyes and looking at Lord Black, "I will go with you back to London." Lord Black nodded his head but kept silence knowing that he wasn't done. "But with conditions. First you will get my father to have a sit down with me and get him that a trial."
At this Lord Black and Madam Bones both rose an eyebrow, "And how do you know that I know where he is?" Lord Black questioned.
"Simple, you said it yourself. There is not a Black alive whose location you don't know of as the Black of Blacks."
Lord Black nodded his head at this, "Smart to use my own words against me. Agreed."
Damien nodded, "Second, I want your word that my daughter will be safe from the influence of those in your family because I don't care who they are, be it cousin or aunt, if they harm my daughter or try to influence her life any kind of way then we'll be having this conversation again from Azkaban because no matter how hard you look, you will not find their body." This he stated with power and conviction with small lightning bolts arcing off his fingertips.
"Done."
He nodded and let his power die back down. "The final condition is I get to do my music with no interruptions and no interference from anyone. I was about to come out at a solo artist when I got sent here. I will also need an area that I can use as a studio to record."
Lord Black took a moment to think about this request. He knew that some members of his family wouldn't like the fact that someone was doing something muggle in the family and the thought brought a viscous smile to his face. "Done. I will have everything set up for you by the time we get to London."
Damien nodded. "Then it seems we have a deal Lord Black." Looking to Madam Bones to see her nod in agreement with everything and with that he let all the tension leave his body. "So, when am I getting out of here? And where is my daughter currently?" he asked innocently like he didn't just get done doing a deal with the proverbial devil of Magic Britain.
Madam Bones stifled a chuckle at the instant change in demeaner, "you will be out of here tomorrow morning and your daughter has been staying in London with your Godmother. Good night Mr. Black we will see you tomorrow." And with that both Madam Bones and Lord Black left after returning everything back to normal to make it seem like they were never there. Damien laid back down in his bed with thoughts of seeing his daughter filling his mind and went to sleep with a smile on his face for the first time in over a year.
