Here's a Rizzles story for the new year.
This is a story that came to mind last Friday but even though the bulk of the story takes place on New Year's Eve, I'm posting it after New Year's in order to have time to post it quietly.
Well, I put the usual text, that is to say that I do not own Rizzoli & Isles nor the characters of R&I whether in literary or television version and it belongs to their respective owners etc etc, in short all the usual text that you know well

Jane and Maura were madly in love with each other and a couple. Jane had planned a surprise for Maura and hoped she would have the courage to do it and that the festive moment would help her.
They arrived together at the meal organized by Angela who had moved in with her new husband Vince Korsak even if sometimes the couple came to stay for a while at Maura's friend's house.
Jane and Maura arrived and rang the bell and Angela greeted them and said kissing them
"Hello, my darling daughters! You are wonderful ! Come, come in quickly, it's so cold! »
Angela looked at Jane and Maura's outfits and smiled because she suspected that Maura must have insisted that Jane dress more elegantly than her usual style. Angela also suspected that Jane must have complained but she could see that Maura had succeeded again and Angela also knew that the times when Jane refused Maura something were very rare.
Jane, true to her casual yet elegant style, wears black tuxedo pants with a silky white shirt. She added a touch of femininity with a fitted tuxedo jacket that showed off her athletic figure. Her hair is pulled back in a loose bun, and she wears discreet earrings. For jacket Jane wore a structured black blazer which added a touch of elegance to her casual outfit and would be perfect for a winter evening. The black blazer paired well with his black tuxedo pants and silky white shirt.
Maura, for her part, is resplendent in a long champagne-colored evening dress. The dress, with its slight V-neckline and fitted silhouette, is both elegant and flattering. Her blonde hair is styled in loose curls that frame her face, and she wears a delicate necklace that draws attention to her neckline. She wore a cream-colored faux fur jacket. Not only did it add a touch of glamor to her outfit, but it was also warm and Maura hated being cold. The cream color of the jacket perfectly complemented the champagne hue of her dress.
Maura said seeing Angela dressed in a very elegant evening dress
« Thank you, Angela. You are very beautiful too. »
Jane says
« Yes, Ma, you look great and you smell good »
Angela said, giving her husband a knowing look.
« Thank you Janie. This is the new perfume that Vince gave me »
Jane says
« You still seem so happy together »
Vince greeted the two women and said to Jane
« Jane I promised you I would take care of your mother and when I got married I swore to make her happy and I will. »
Jane smiled and said
« But I don't doubt it for a moment Vince, you are the perfect couple »
Angela said pushing them towards the living room.
« Okay, come on, come and settle in. Everybody is here. Frankie, Tommy, Nina, Susie, the kids... They can't wait to see you »
They then greeted the rest of the Rizzoli family: Frankie and Nina and their two children Angie and Francesco III, Tommy and his fiancée Susie who was pregnant with a little girl, and Tommy's son TJ. Everyone was delighted to see them and complimented them on their elegance.
Frankie said after greeting the two women
« Hi, Jane!" Hello, Maura! You are beautiful ! »
Jane responded while admiring her sister-in-law's red dress which highlighted Nina's skin color.
"Thank you, Frankie. You too, you are very elegant and Nina is sublime"
Nina smiled and said
« Thank you, Jane. How nice. You are both very chic too. I love your dress, Maura »
Maura said blushing
« Thank you so much. Jane gave it to me for Christmas
« It's true ? She tastes good. That surprises me because she always says she hates fashion »
Jane replied
« I guess Maura has rubbed off on me a little. »
Maura said leaning towards Angie Catherine and Francesco III, Frankie and Nina's fraternal twins who were 3 and a half years old and Maura said smiling
« Good evening you two, how are you? You are very well dressed »
The children said happily
« Aunt Maura! »
TJ had always called Maura Aunt Maura and when Frankie and Nina's children were born, Maura had told the couple that their children could do the same. Angie and Francesco III gave Maura a hug.
Angie who had distinctly Rizzoli features but with darker skin answered
« Good Aunt Maura! Santa Claus brought us lots of gifts at Nonna Catherine's »
Nina's mother knew that her grandchildren called their other grandmother Nonna Angela so she decided that her grandchildren would call her Nonna Catherine
Francesco III had taken more from his mother but had lighter skin said
« Look at Aunt Maura!" We brought everything! »
Nina said to Jane who were a little further away
« We are doing very good. I can't believe the Twins will be four soon. My mother spoiled them for Christmas. It was the first time we celebrated Christmas in Chicago, since last year Angie had been sick shortly before New Year's Eve, we hadn't been able to go to my mother's house. Celebrating Christmas in Chicago brought back lots of memories"
Frankie tells Jane
"The twins loved your gifts to Maura and you.
Thank you, that makes us happy. You will excuse me but I have to see my niece and my nephew"
Jane went to the Twins and asked them
"Hello twins! Did you receive a lot of gifts from your grandmother Catherine?
The Twins saw Jane and gave her a hug and said
"Aunt Jane! »
Then Francesco III said
" Yes ! A lot ! Look at Aunt Jane! »
The children showed their toys and Jane said happy
" That's great ! You must be happy! »
The children laughed and said
" Yes ! We are very happy Aunt Jane! »
Jane and Maura played with the twins then went to chat with Frankie and Nina while Tommy, Susie and TJ joined them
" Yes very well, and you ?
Great too. I am happy to see you
Jane noticed
" Yes, it's true. You are looking good.
Tommy said, running his hand over his fiancée's rounded stomach.
" Thanks sis. It's thanks to Susie. She makes me happy"
Susie said after kissing the two women
"Good evening Maura. Good evening Jane. You are beautiful "
Jane says
"Good evening Susie. Thank you so much. You are radiant »
Susie smiled and said
" Thank you . It's the pregnancy that has this effect on me."
Maura says
"You have 3 months left, right?
Yes, more or less
And have you found a first name? »
Tommy says
"We're going to call her Abigail. »
Maura says
"It's a pretty first name that comes from the Hebrew abigahel which means "my joy is in God"! Congratulations !".
Susie says
" Thank you ! We are very happy! »
Maura asked looking at the little boy who was playing with his cousins.
"And TJ, is he happy to have a little sister?
Susie said laughing
"Yes, he's delighted!" He says he's going to protect her and teach her lots of things."
Angela says
"He's exactly like his Aunt Jane when I told her she was going to have a little brother
Maura said smiling
" He is adorable "
Tommy says
"Yes, he's adorable. He's my little angel, he allowed me to take control of my life, I wouldn't be here without him"
Jane waited until dessert time to speak. Jane cleared her throat and got everyone's attention and said
"You know how much you mean to me, you are my family, and I love you. But there is one person who has a special place in my heart, and that's Maura. Maura, you are the woman of my life, you make me happy every day, you make me laugh, you support me and I am so happy with you. You are the most beautiful thing that has ever happened to me, and I never want to leave you again. »
Maura said in a voice filled with emotion:
"Oh Jane.."
Jane took his hand and said
"Wait, it's not over yet. »
Jane got down on one knee, took out a box with a ring from her pocket and everyone was surprised and Jane said looking at Maura with love:
«Maura, I want to grow old with you, I want to have children with you, I want to be your wife, I desire, I dream of you being my wife. So, I ask you the most important question of my life: Maura Dorthea Isles, will you marry me? »
Maura was overwhelmed by emotion and tears. She looked at Jane, then at the ring, then at Jane again and with an extremely emotional voice.
« Yes! Yes Yes Yes! Of course I want to marry you! »
Jane took the ring and put it on her future wife's finger then Maura leaned towards Jane and kissed her passionately. The whole family applauded and congratulated them, happy to see them so happy. Jane and Maura looked into each other's eyes, and smiled. Jane got up and hugged Maura against her
Angela stood up and hugged them.
« I'm so proud of you, my daughters ! You make a beautiful couple! When are you getting married? And when will you give me grandchildren?"
Jane and Maura started laughing softly, amused by Angela's questions and Maura replied that it would happen soon
Frankie, Tommy, Vince, Nina and Susie congratulated them warmly and told them that they supported them 100%.
Frankie said, raising his glass:
"Well done, girls! It's about time! We love you!"
Tommy said smiling
"Yes, well done! Maura, I'm very happy to have you as my sister-in-law! It's about time!"
Vince said with a big smile
"I am very happy to see that you are finally getting married. I've waited for this for so long "
Nina says
"I dreamed of seeing this one day and it finally happened, congratulations! »
Susie says
"I've been hoping for a long time to see Jane decide to propose! It's finally here! »
And the delighted children gave them hugs
Jane and Maura thanked their family again and everyone was happy after seeing Jane's marriage proposal and Maura's acceptance.
Jane and Maura looked at each other with love and relief. They felt closer than ever and toasted their future together and enjoyed the rest of the evening. When the clock struck midnight, they kissed passionately in front of everyone, who applauded them wildly. They smiled and wished each other a happy new year. They knew they were going to have a wonderful year, full of love and happiness.

Yes, I put Tommy and Susie back together as a couple, I like that idea but if you prefer a Frost-Susie couple, don't worry, this couple will come back because I also like the Frost-Susie couple
