Sonic: Eight Years Later

It's been 8 years since Eggman turned over a new leaf, and life has been mostly peaceful for our blue hero and his friends. Villains still arise occasionally, but they're quickly taken care of. Sonic lives in Emerald Town with most of his friends and shares a house with Miles "Tails" Prower. One thing leads to another and suddenly the entire world knows of his love life.

3. Poor Tails

Back at Sonic's house the two hedgehogs are passionately, unprofessionally, making out when a certain two-tailed fox unlocks and walks in the front door. He is completely unaware of Shadow's presence on top of Sonic. "Sonic! Are you home?" Tails(16) yells, completely unaware of what his older brother is doing. The two hedgehogs don't hear him however, as they're lost in each other's soft fur. They continue making out on the bed, Tails inching closer and closer to the door. Tails hears a strange noise coming from Sonic's room, and after getting closer he hears just what Sonic and Shadow are doing. "Sonic, I- oh, oh no…" The two hedgehogs finally hear Tails and finally manage to get off of each other right after Tails opens the bedroom door and walks in.

"S- Sonic… I… um…" "Tails, I can explain. Shadow was… helping me fix my back pain." The now embarrassed hedgehog says, trying to make up an excuse. "By kissing you?" "Okay, fine. We were kissing. So what? It's not like we were doing anything else… yet." The young fox seems confused. "I didn't know you two were dating." "Well that's because we wanted to keep it a secret." The fox now seemed ticked off. "I'm going to sleep at Amy's house. I'll see you in the morning."

Rouge lies on her bed, unable to sleep. She decides to get up and grab something from the kitchen. "Ugh, of course we're out of food. I'll have to send Omega out tomorrow, I-" She notices Tails walking to Amy's house. "What is he doing?" She walks outside. "Where are you going this late?" Tails responds, "Sonic and Shadow are being weird, so I decided to sleep at Amy's place." He continues walking down the street, ignoring Rouge's attempts to get his attention. "Yeah no, you're sleeping at my place tonight, it's closer than Amy's." "Sorry, Rouge, but I've already made arrangements and I wouldn't want Amy to get worried." Rouge grabs his arm, dragging him towards her house. "I don't care, you're sleeping at my place and that's final." She drags him into her house and takes her to Shadow's room. "Since he's not here you can sleep in his bed tonight," She walks out of the room, "Goodnight." She shuts the door before Tails can argue against it, walking into her room and finally going to sleep.
