Weiss Schnee
"I have to say, I was surprised when the report came in."
"You and me both..."
"-But the greater surprise was the Queen of Vale crossing our border in the same day." Ironwood made it sound more impressive than it was. The flight had been exhausting to put it lightly, and while the report had hit both Kingdoms in the early morning, Weiss had arrived in Atlas late enough to argue if it was afternoon or night. Either way, it was clearly dinner time.
With a flick of her wrist, as if she was trying to wave off the topic, Weiss summoned as much of her trained pompous Schnee energy that remained after all these years with her new family. "This war is clearly not going to slow down, I realised that acquiring my new summon sooner rather than later is a wise decision."
"Was it a wise decision to come here personally with no notice?" Already this question was leading into territories that made the Frost Dragon's blood approach a boil, but she attempted to keep her cool- "I'm unsure if the Queen Consort is capable of governing Vale by herself."
"I will tear this place apart and leave you buried beneath it, you arrogant pric-!"
"Ruby has been Queen Consort for nearly a decade now. She's picked up more than people realise, and any issues she may have can be handled by the council." A tight grip on one's heart to keep their emotions in check was necessary within these walls... But, her years apart had worked away at her practice in that regard.
Perhaps it was a twitch of her lip, a frown that escaped onto her expression for just a moment... Or maybe he could just sense it, either way, Ironwood was aware in some light of the mistake in his words. "I didn't mean to offend, Your Majesty."
"No offence taken." A lie. "In truth... I'm still troubled by the Flat's Lock." Not a complete lie. The Flats Lock had been the location of the issue, but not the exact subject.
"Do you wish to speak about it?" Weiss wasn't sure if Ironwood was the best person to discuss this with... but... then again...
"How long is this hallway...?"
"I suppose it couldn't hurt..." It was at least something to discuss as they made their way to this 'showroom' Ironwood had cooked up. "Ruby was away from home for a year and a half... I expected her gone for maybe a few months, and even worse was how poorly Argus took the time away from her..." They were practically inseparable at the moment, which Weiss was greatly relieved by.
"She had an important task, did she not?"
"Yes." The Frost Dragon knew that. The Queen of Vale knew that. Weiss knew that... But... Still... "That doesn't mean it didn't hurt..." Time is a fickle thing, and the warped experience that was a Dragon's perspective of it hadn't made things any easier. Find yourself happy, you may just lose years in seconds... Find yourself upset...
"Seconds may take years..."
If only she could use Pride.
"Ruby was adamant that she succeed. I don't for a second believe that she wasn't trying to come home to us, and yet..." It was too complicated a feeling to explain. She was upset, frustrated, those emotions had to go somewhere, and the only person she had wanted to talk about it to was Ruby... Obviously, it wasn't fair to be upset with her, Weiss knew that...
"That's why I'm trying so hard to move past it now..."
It was over, her feelings about it held no purpose anymore... she was free to move on. It was supposed to be easy, simple... Yet it was anything but.
"How pathetic of me... A Dragon with an eternal life whining about a year and a half..."
Surely, in a hundred years, or even a thousand, this would be nothing.
Surely then, Weiss would have forgotten what it was like to be without Ruby.
"There's nothing wrong with getting upset. I'm sure as your partner in both parenthood and governing position that Ruby understands that. If you need to let your emotions out, do it. Regardless of what message you may send without meaning." Weiss was used to hearing people's advice, but... "If she chooses to find a meaning in your words that isn't there when you simply need to let off some steam, then that is her own issue." Out of everyone, she had never expected such bad advice from Ironwood.
"General I-... Are you married, General?" For once, Weiss refused to hold her tongue, but her voice was still apprehensive. "Or even just... have a partner...?"
The question seemed to confuse him. "No? Why does that matter?"
"Is this arrogance or stupidity...?"
"No, I suppose it doesn't. Thank you for the advice, General." She didn't for a second intend to use it or trust it.
With the conversation having come to a close, their walk continued with the grace only silence could provide. The halls felt like they twisted and turned, but Vale's own castle surely had over double the corners of this castle, it was a strange sensation, the feeling of growing lost when one was walking in a straight line. Every ten metres or so, it felt like all the decor repeated, like the walls, floors, and ceilings were all simply made up of giant tiles that fit together. It felt like so much effort had been put into the construction of this place simply to make it feel as lifeless as possible... All save for the white bricks that would make anyone swear they were made of pure snow. Yes, the one trick this place tried to pull to fill you with some kind of wonder or excitement... The lie that there was any Magic in these walls besides the enchantments meant to keep most people out, and some people stuck inside...
Weiss had thought this many times before, but now with the fresh perspective of a mother, it was painfully obvious that she had been right.
This was no place for a child to grow up.
"Here we are." Broken from her nightmares that stood in the place of what should have been nostalgia, Weiss turned her head to the General, who had at some point left her side and was now leading her to this apparent showroom he had gotten ready. Or, had ordered someone else to get ready. "We'll start with Golems that move on the ground, troops similar to the Arma Gigas, though most with more concentrated specialities."
"There aren't any that are just plain better?" Already knowing the answer, Weiss stepped in and glanced around quickly. The sight was impressive, but her appreciation for it was nothing compared to the excitement her wife or child would have produced for such a view. Golems stood in rows upon rows, all of them fully operational but setup to appear more as statues for this showcase. They ranged from as short as a person to taller than her own Arma Gigas, though, none of the bigger ones were generalists like her own Golem, so they would likely lose too much speed to be a valuable weapon against most individually powerful combatants.
Guiding her through them one by one, Weiss had to constantly tear her mind away from how much she would have preferred hearing all these same details from Ruby rather than Ironwood. It was clear despite his best efforts that he was just repeating what someone much more qualified in this field than himself had said.
Four rows they walked up and down before coming to the end. Some had caught Weiss's attention, but it was even more clear now that her original assessment had been correct upon entering. Out of all of them, for her goals, the current Golem she could Summon was still the best suited for the job.
The only ones of note, besides her own current summon, were strangely opposites to one another. An older model, much older than even her Arma Gigas, it was easily the biggest Golem here, and its design held nearly no resemblances to a humanoid shape on its bottom half. Instead, it had at least six legs, and just from looking at it one would imagine that it moved like an insect. Its means of locomotion however wasn't what caught her eye, instead, it was the weapon mounted to it in place of its left hand... From her brief experiences with one, she could recognise it as almost identical to the weapons on the airships.
"A powerful weapon to have... But it would consume an incredible amount of Mana..."
At least in comparison to what the Arma Gigas consumed, and speaking of those comparisons, it was clear that while this Golem was much bigger and obviously had more range than the Gigas... It would be much, much, slower.
Turning her eyes to the other, the newer model Golem was an interesting sight. Rather than being a hulking monolith of a figure with a weapon that would fill one with visions of their own death... It was small, only slightly taller than Weiss herself, and as far as she could see, it carried no weapon. Its armour looked light, less an actual means of defence and rather a covering to keep its internals protected from the elements. Still, the magic that poured from it was quite something, and Weiss knew that it would be an incredibly fast fighter. So much so, that she doubted Qrow or Pyrrha would be able to out speed it. Unless, of course, they pulled that same trick Qrow used to beat Carmine in the Vytal Festival.
"They would be much faster... But..."
What was it supposed to do in a fight? Unless the weapon was specifically designed for it, carrying one would no doubt slow the Golem incredibly. Of course, going into combat without a weapon wasn't any better. If it were to attempt to use its fists to attack... Well, it would sooner deal damage to itself then any opponents strong enough to warrant her using a Summon in the first place.
Deciding to keep those two in the back of her mind, they stepped out of the room now and moved to another showroom, this time displaying the aerial Golems, Weiss sighed as they crossed back into the same hallway from earlier. It had grown clear that perhaps the best solution would simply be for Ruby to construct a Golem for Weiss instead of grabbing one from Atlas...
Then, something else caught her eye. Stopping short of the doorway, Weiss followed the curious sight her eyes had caught. A statue, a proper one this time it seemed, that stood in the hallway not far from where they had stopped. The angle had simply been wrong for Weiss to have seen it earlier. Upon closer inspection, it greatly resembled her Arma Gigas... Though, this was only human height, a bit taller than herself. It looked like a suit of full plate armour, but not just in design, this had clearly actually been used as armour, and was now just on display. Adjusting her eyes downward, they fell on the plaque at the bottom of the statue...
"Nicholas Schnee... The only survivor of the Schnee Purge..."
What a dramatic name for the event. In Weiss's opinion, it would have been better called 'That one time one Dragon tore us all apart over the course of an afternoon'. Loyalty to the family which had 'raised' her was not one of the Queen's strong suits.
"Appreciating the family history?" Ironwood spoke from behind her, though not close enough in any regard to be considered disrespectful or invasive.
"I suppose..." In truth, she was simply appreciating the design of the armour. It simply looked like a more threatening version of her Summon, if a lot smaller... Though, one particular part of it would be called anything but small.
The weapon it held, the great sword it clutched in both hands over its shoulder, the weapon looked more like a beautifully designed block of steel then it did an actual blade... It was clearly bigger than the armour, looking almost seven feet long... It was a piece of art, the weapon seemed to shift colours as her eyes danced over it, the handle being a tough looking leather that would sooner shatter than let you lose your grip, the cross guard looked more durable than a shield... But the blade itself... It started as a strange mixture of Grey, White, and... Green?
"... Odd..."
She had expected light blue colouring, but it looked like it had been designed by someone else.
The colouring faded about two inches from the edge of the blade on all sides, the weapon looked too sharp to ever lose its edge. To call it dangerous looking would be an understatement, and that simply spawned the question of why exactly it was here...
But, that was surely a silly thing to wonder. After all, why would an actual sword designed this well be in the hands of a statue? No, this was almost definitely a replica of some kind.
"Show me the aerial Golems." Turning to walk away, Ironwood moved to lead her through the doorway... But once again, she hesitated. Looking back to see the statue, and more importantly the weapon, again.
For whatever reason... She was intimidated by it. The question of why was great enough to hold her curiosity... But, the weapon couldn't actually be dangerous. After all, she didn't sense any magic from it whatsoever.
Once again, she was simply being silly. That must be it.
Feeling her confidence return, Weiss followed the General.
Perhaps it was her need to feel safe looking away from the weapon, perhaps it was simply a mistake of her own, perhaps it was influence from a greater power that prevented her from noticing it...
But all the while she had been looking at it... Not once did Weiss notice that there wasn't just no Magic coming from the weapon or armour... But there was no Magic around it at all. Like it was constantly exuding Anti-Magic. Like an enchantment...
Or, like it was trying to be disguised.
Ruby Schnee
This morning had been... Difficult, to put it lightly.
Starting with the good, Ruby's expectations of Argus's disposition towards her had been thoroughly and completely dashed the instant the boy had laid eyes on her. It would be a challenge to keep him away, if she had been trying to. Which was a wonderful surprise after her assumptions of how he'd treat her after her return. In fact, for the first time in years, he'd actually slept in his parent's bed that night, much to his own embarrassment the next day. Ruby had made sure to inform him absolutely that there was nothing embarrassing about that... While teasing him incredibly for it.
The life with her family was still intact, even after a year and a half away from home... It was a reassuring feeling, and one she wouldn't soon forget.
As for the bad? Well, Ruby had known something was off the instant she awoke this morning, seeing Weiss practically rushing to get ready... Which was a bad sign. The Queen of Vale always looked prim and proper, so for her to be rushing through what she viewed as such an essential part of the day didn't inspire confidence in her recently awakened wife.
"Weiss...? What's wrong?" Rubbing the sleep from her eyes and doing her best to keep it from leaking into her voice, Ruby sat up to try and force her body awake faster.
She answered without turning her body, only briefly glancing her eyes to the bed before continuing her rush. "Good, you're up. I need to head to Atlas, I'm leaving Vale in your hands for now." Already a lot of pressure for what was essentially ten seconds into her day, but the news was far from over. "Port called. We've received reports of Grimm coming ashore to the west."
"West?" Perhaps the oddest detail she could have latched onto, after all, the only other nearby access to the sea was through the Forever Fall Forest... And if Grimm started coming from that direction, people would simply assume they had spawned from the forest. "Why is that so-"
"Because it's not just some Grimm. It's a lot, too much for this to be anything less than... an organised assault." Which left only one option.
"Salem..."
"-I need to go acquire a new Summon, sooner rather than later." Ruby had already been aware of that. "As for the Grimm, it's already been looked into, and it seems that they came from the North-Western Continent... They swam past Patch, ignoring it completely." If it wasn't already clear that the cause was Salem, that certainly confirmed it. "I need you to send forces to intercept the Grimm at a fort by the ocean, it's the closest place they're surfacing at." Momentarily distracted by Weiss's attempts at putting heels on while standing up, which gave Ruby an amazing view of her wife's behind, she shook her head after a few moments and responded in surprise.
"You want me to choose who to send? Do you want me to call and confirm or-" A quick glance from Weiss was all that was needed to shut that down. It was clear that this was being left to Ruby... But, why?
Surely it would take at most an hour for Weiss to make the decision, so she could easily do so before she left... So, for some reason, Ruby must have been better suited for the role, right?
"But that doesn't make any sense, there's no way I could choose who to send better than Weiss..."
It was obvious, right? Qrow or Pyrrha could surely handle it on their own, or just send a Dragon or two there and-
"Oh..."
Her expression matched her realisation, and Weiss turned just in time to recognise it. "Pyrrha has to stay in Vale in case Dagon appears, Qrow has to stay in case Hazel appears... Which means we need to send Dragons." Ruby, unfortunately, couldn't be sent herself. For more reasons than could be listed, but the reason that would be shared to the council would be that her duties as Royal Wizard - and all the projects she had been working on - had sat untouched for the last year and a half. Who knows how long the Grimm would be coming at them... "We need to send someone from the Drake Squad."
Sighing gently, Weiss approached. "We can't send Winter because she's in Atlas... and for that same reason, Robyn and Serena aren't choices we can make." Weiss would probably have to explain that to Whitley once she reached Atlas... And that certainly wouldn't be a fun conversation to have. "And, there's a chance you'll make a better choice than me anyway."
"Huh?" Her confusion was back just in time for them to share a hug goodbye. "What makes you say that?"
"Silver Affinity, maybe you'll just have a better idea of who'll be best suited for this..." Ruby didn't actually believe Weiss's words, instead just hugging her tighter as they sat in silence for a moment. The Queen was desperate to reignite Ruby's burnt out confidence.
The hug was briefly replaced by a kiss, and with that the Queen moved to the doors... to their balcony? "Weiss? You... aren't gonna say bye to Argus?" Frankly, she had expected that Weiss would know better than that, but as she followed her to their balcony, the White haired beauty simply shook her head.
"He understands that I have duties, Ruby. But, it's different for you." She smiled back as her scales froze over her clothes and skin. "To him, you're his parent first and everything else second."
With a pout, she crossed her arms. That was stupid, and they both knew it. Weiss was just trying to be cool before she left... Which, Ruby wasn't about to ruin. So instead, she approached her on the balcony with a sigh. "Alright... Just, be careful, ok?"
"Of course, darling." Saying that as she stroked her cheek was much too unfair on poor Ruby. "I promise, no matter how separated we are, we'll always reunite one day. Nothing could stop us returning to each other... Not even if Hell froze over." And like that, Ruby was unable to keep herself from ruining the moment, her giggles made Weiss smile, though. "Too corny?" Weiss's smile was much too genuine, but Ruby shook her head.
"No, just, why say that of all things?" Words were mixed with laughter, and Weiss was forced to reply with a shrug.
"Honestly, I'm not sure. Just felt right. I'm the Frost Dragon, after all." Sharing a last kiss goodbye and a last smile, Weiss took off from their balcony before changing into her full forms majesty, sailing through the sky in the direction of Atlas. Which Ruby could only recognise thanks to her own flight there and back.
"Alright..." Slapping both her cheeks to psych herself up, Ruby put on a face of determination. "Time to be a Queen." Even trying to be serious, she couldn't help but chuckle at that.
"The obvious solution is to send the Harbingers!"
"That won't work! We need to reinforce the barrier!"
"What do you mean, 'that won't work'?"
"The Harbingers aren't that strong!"
There was a momentary pause as everyone, even the other man yelling, all became stunned by this man's incompetence... Before, well... "Are you an idiot!?"
Unfortunately, even given Weiss's views on the matter, certain Lords in Vale still held incredibly high standings in their system. They were meant to still be below the council and of course the royal family... But their influence was deeply tied to business's they controlled and the scarily large percentage of Vale's economy that they controlled... Ever since the war began, and trade with Mistral and Vacuo stopped, that power simply grew as Vale's economy became that much more fragile.
These two lords in particular were an incredible pain. Usually, they avoided coming to council meetings... Weiss had destroyed them with words enough times to keep them at home with their tails between their legs, but since Ruby currently sat at the head of the table, it seemed that they viewed the situation in a different light now. Judging by their words, Ruby figured that neither of them - or at least one of them - wasn't aware of just how much physical power one person could hold. Their images of strength and power were no doubt landscapes covered in armies, money, or even just businesses... Ruby on the other hand, and anyone else that had experience with magic and actual fights... Well...
"There's only one army on Remnant that the Harbinger's couldn't beat..."
The Atlas fleet however would certainly carry that fight for the rest of the kingdom's army.
Ruby was unable to get a word in at this meeting. She had called only the council members, but unfortunately these two had caught wind of the news somehow... Within the less than a half an hour span between Ruby calling the meeting and all of them gathering here, these Lords had arrived to take part.
The one screaming about sending the Harbingers was Vale's resident Vampire Lord, Quinton Sustrai. Every kingdom seemingly had at least one Vampire Lord, an individual who had both the actual Title, and the prestige of a Noble house. This particular individual was no doubt related in some way to Emerald, though given his pale skin and red hair, Ruby figured it was a distant relation... Which made sense, considering the species millennia long life expectancy. For all she knew, there could be a five-hundred year difference in age between this man and Emerald, which might be going either way.
Ruby had expected the other Lord to be a Werewolf at first, however, the rather short and stocky fellow that arrived in his fashionable suit and wearing enough jewellery to rival Weiss's wardrobe in cost, made Ruby instead change her mind quickly and picked him as a Dwarf. The statistically most likely much younger Lord was yelling an argument about sending a large force rather than just one or two individuals, and it was clear to most of the council members - all of which could hold their own in a fight - That this individual had never once seen combat. Unlike his apparent rival, Quinton, who had trained enough with a sword to warrant investigations both before and after Emerald's betrayal into the possibility of his working for Cinder. The Dwarf Lord, Royce Cliffwel, actually held much more wealth than Quinton, even given the Vampire's extended family which owned an uncountable number of businesses. Ruby supposed that's what happens when one family owns most of the mines on Remnant... Still, the Schnee's definitely held more wealth with only their single one.
Only minutes earlier, when this meeting had started, Ruby had been aware of none of this. Instead, as they argued back and forth, Glynda was very helpfully feeding her info about them both with quiet whispers kept private using Magic.
"My Lords-" Finally getting a word in that caused both heads to turn and look at her, Ruby felt her nerves grow for a moment. "I have already thought up a solution to the current dilemma, allow me to explain." Weiss's teachings weren't just coming in handy, it felt more like Ruby was fully summoning forth her best impression of her wife rather than just using what she had learned from her.
"Yes, please, grace us with your immaculate knowledge and decision-making skills." Say what you will about both Lords, Royce was clearly brave, and judging by the look Quinton gave him after his words, the Vampire was clearly more intelligent than his 'rival'. After all, the Dwarf was speaking like that not just to the Queen Consort of Vale, but also the Rose Dragon.
Not to mention that of the Lords currently in the room, they weren't even the ones who held the most power. "Tell me, Royce, what decisions have you made across your life that have done anything for your family? Or, anything in general? When's the last time you even decided on what to have for dinner?" Political training brought out new sides of people, no matter the individual, and as Ruby turned her head and set her eyes on the blonde man, she found herself respecting how far Jaune had come since they'd first met.
Even given the Cliffwel's family wealth, there was a reason why Jacques Schnee had wanted Weiss to marry an Arc heir before Ruby cracked the Dragon Formula. No amount of wealth could give the Dwarf's family enough political power to rival the respect the whole Kingdom of Vale held for the Arc family. The Hero's blood was potent in more ways than just its Magic, and that respect had only grown more powerful since Jaune had awakened. In the time before his acquisition as the head of the family, his mother and father before him were already some of the most influential people in Vale... Once Jaune had received that Lordship however and properly assumed his seat as patriarch of the family, he became easily the most powerful Lord in Vale. Added onto his the strength provided by his Title, his wife being Conquest, his daughter being a Dragon, and his close friendship with the royal family... And no other families stood a chance.
While technically true that as Queen Consort, Ruby wielded more power than Jaune... The Lords looked at her and saw a political weak link in the royal Family, they looked at Jaune, however, and saw an unattainable height of which they could never hope of approaching. Suffice to say, at his questions to the Dwarf Lord, the room went silent, and Jaune immediately relinquished his command of the room over to the Queen, his friend.
Giving him a grateful smile, Ruby turned to the rest of them once again, this time feeling much more confident. "Two Dragons will be enough to handle the Grimm coming from the sea." In truth, one would more than likely be enough. The Grimm weren't a threat because their power was a threat to Vale, rather, it was what they would do on their way to the capital. Towns, farmland, mines, all things that lay between the coast and the city that the Grimm would be more than enough to handle on their own. While yes, one Dragon would more than likely be enough, they couldn't risk letting too many slip through, so the second was more of a buffer than anything.
"Do we not only have one Dragon available?" Quinton's words held a mocking tone that was a bit too clear for Jaune's ears, and the Hero made the Vampire slink down in his chair with just a glare. Ruby doubted that the Lord had actually meant it that way, to her, it seemed more like a reflex for the Lord to try and take any chance to mock anyone's mistakes in a situation like this.
Only, Ruby hadn't made a mistake. "As of now. But, that can change in less than a few minutes. Yang Xiao Long will be sent, and after her transformation, Coco Adel will join her." Her voice held a commanding tone, and it was clear to even Royce that there was no room for argument. The conversation grew quiet and calm after that, the only real thing of note Ruby picked up on was the way Glynda was looking at her... Like she was proud of her.
A deep sigh rung out as the door finally closed, the council meeting was over, and thus the council had no need to be in this room anymore. All who remained were just Ruby and Jaune... Mainly since the Queen wanted to thank him.
Turning to him from the doors she had just closed, Ruby opened her mouth to do just that, but he spoke first. "You don't have to thank me." Feeling calm now that it was just her and her friend, Ruby pouted and walked over.
"Why not? I want to."
"Yeah, you're like Pyrrha in that way... Both of you constantly wanting to ignore what you've done for others and only picking up on what people do for you." Ruby's pout only grew at his words, sure, Pyrrha was like that... And maybe so was she, but that wasn't true in this circumstance! Well, she thought so, till he spoke again. "Ruby, the better part of a decade ago, remember the Hunter Exam?"
"Which one? They were both around that long ago."
Continuing on with a slightly frustrated expression, Jaune sighed. "Both, to be honest. In the first exam, you carried me through the written portion-" He ignored her protests about how that was accidental. "-Not to mention in the second exam, you went easy on me to give me a chance to show off." Well, she had to give that one to him... But, that wasn't the same! But, once again, he knew what she was going to say before she said it. His point reinforced by his crossed arms. "Also, there's the fact that you gave me and Pyrrha a kid."
"That wasn't all me!" A poor argument, and they both knew it.
"Well, then, as far as I'm concerned, I'll owe everyone involved in that an unpayable debt forever." His expression turned softer as he reminisced. "I decided that the second I watched Neo take her first steps."
Ruby went to argue... But the genuine expression he was wearing had thoroughly defeated her, so instead she smiled gently. "I honestly thought you were going to say her first word."
That got him chuckling. "Well, honestly, that was more funny than anything. She only spoke once she realised we didn't know if she could."
Ruby joined in on the chuckling now, though her own resembled giggling more. "Isn't she, like, two?"
"Yeah, but that's like four."
"Not you too!" Ruby's groan left him confused, but they moved on from that after a moment. They just talked for a while, enjoying being friends while they could be just those roles.
But, they couldn't ignore their duties forever, and Jaune had a question to ask the Queen, rather than his friend. "By the way, why Coco? I thought Velvet was first on the priority list."
With a nod, Ruby explained. "She is, but Coco has an earth Affinity." Jaune went to speak, obviously wanting to point out that so did Velvet, but Ruby cut him off. "Coco uses Metal Magic more than actual Earth. I know that's just a subsidiary, but I noticed something weird with the Dragon titles... They don't always come in the obvious order." A raised eyebrow on Jaune's face was all the inclination she needed that a further explanation was necessary. "Like... Why didn't Yang get the Fire Dragon Title? Instead, she got the Solar Dragon Title, one that weirdly matches really well with her style. Or, like Neo." Jaune frowned a little at that. Mentioning Neo's past was a bit of a taboo in their circle of friends, instead, they all preferred to act like she'd only ever been Pyrrha and Jaune's baby... It made things easier to deal with...
But, when Glynda checked her Title, and told them all it was 'The Glass Dragon'...
"So... What does this have to do with Coco?" He seemed desperate to move the conversation along.
"Coco mainly uses Metal Magic... I'm hoping that she becomes something like 'The Metal Dragon' instead of 'The Earth Dragon'." Once again, further explanation was his next question. "That army that was Summoned at the end of the Flat's Lock... They were all Fae. I would prefer having a Dragon that can conjure heaps of Iron or something like that to deal with it easily." Ruby wasn't the most knowledgeable on Summons, so her hope was that the person that did that could only do so because they'd spent so long figuring out contracts with Fae... Hopefully, they could only Summon such large groups of Fae, and not anything else.
"Between that Army and Dagon... The enemy has some pretty powerful Summoners... And that's not even counting Salem herself..."
Ruby leaned back in her chair and let out a sigh.
"If Coco does become something like 'The Metal Dragon', then we have answers to all the Summons they have... Holy Magic for Dagon and the Grimm, and heaps of Iron for the Fae... Then, we just have to hope that they can't Summon any other High Devils..."
Or, of course, something stronger.
