A/N: Hello everyone, I hope you all had a good Christmas and a good new year. Here is the next chapter, now it is a long one but also a bit slow. It does introduce multiple characters. I hope you do like it and of course I will be answering reviews/questions at the end.
Chapter 3: What brings you here?
Naruto, Sasuke, and the two Moxes had safely arrived at Lizzie's. It was only then that they realized it was past six PM, which meant the club had opened and patrons were pouring in and around the establishment.
"Oh, you have to be fucking kidding me." Rita cursed as she slowly drove past Lizzies. "The last thing we need is the public seeing the two of you bloodied and carrying a naked and beaten Mox."
"Just take us through the back; we can clear it out and then have Naruto bring her in discreetly." Sasuke said, tucking away his mask.
Rita begrudgingly agreed with the plan and made a U-Turn before going through the back Alley that led to the rooftop of Lizzie's. As they cut through the small tunnel, she cursed under her breath, going as slow as possible, making sure not to scratch the paint of her car due to the tight squeeze.
As they pulled to a stop, she looked and cursed yet again as she saw the basketball courts were currently being used by several men and women. "Why can't things ever be easy?" Rita groaned as she placed her forehead on the steering wheel.
Sasuke didn't say anything, only glancing at Naruto and giving a quick nod of his head. Naruto, guessing what he meant by it, nodded back and waited for the two to exit the car. Once they had done so, Naruto slowly pulled the sleeping Sabrina to his lap and placed a bijuu chakra arm under her to lift her before exiting the car and henging himself to look slightly different so as to not attract attention.
Of course, it wasn't the best of disguises, but most in Night City wouldn't bat an eye at a man carrying a body. That, of course, was held true as Naruto briskly walked past Sasuke and a fuming Rita who was currently threatening the basketball players.
Naruto snickered at the scene as Sasuke was standing back, looking bored while Rita did most of the work. It was only when he had made it to the rooftop entrance of Lizzie's, he had turned around and gave a thumbs up, causing Sasuke to call out to Rita that it's fine and pointed to the empty car.
Rita then spun around, confused, as she saw the now unhenged back of Naruto walking into the building. "I told that idiot to wait!" she barked at Sasuke.
"They're fine; no one saw them. I was watching while you were making a distraction," Sasuke sighed as he already began walking back to the car. "Let's get your car parked and deal with Suzie."
Rita stood there, about to shout at Sasuke. That was until she noticed nearly everyone was staring at her and decided to walk back to her car. She really didn't know why she did so much for the two. Yes, they had saved her ass, but she sometimes wondered was it worth the amount of work they put her through. She never was a people person; the most was a quick fuck and maybe sharing a cigarette after. Yet, here she was teaching them to survive in this world and going into Tiger Claw territory to save their asses. Yes it was for the safety of another Mox, but she had volunteered in a heartbeat for them.
"Rita, hurry it up." Sasuke called out, already reaching the passenger door and seeing the purple-haired Mox taking her time.
Rita clenched her teeth and quickened her pace, reaching the car and entering it. "You're lucky I still owe you, or else I would be shoving my bat up your ass."
Sasuke looked ahead and did his trademark smuggish smirk. Rita hated that smirk; that meant Sasuke had done what he wanted and gotten under the person's skin. Her only option now was to accept defeat, curse under her breath, throw the car in drive and turn it around to exit out of the alley.

Naruto had been as quick and discreet as possible as he made it to the back end of the club, a place where only the moxes, along with himself and Sasuke, were allowed. It had been easy to do so, and with it, he had placed Sabrina in their room and on his bed. When he finally let her down, he retracted the bijuu chakra arm and saw Sabrina shiver at the loss of the warmth.
Naruto sighed as he saw the mox ball up within his coat. He did wish there was more he could do for her, but unfortunately, this was the best for the time being. As he was walking out he stopped and formed half of the ram sign before a small cloud burst, and a clone appeared. "Keep watch over her and if she wakes up, disperse to inform me."
"Yea yea yea," the clone replied with a wave of his hand, walking over and sitting on Sasuke's bed.
Naruto ignored the attitude of his clone and walked out, already making a beeline to Suzie's office to relay the information. No doubt, Sasuke and Rita were there. It was then Naruto felt a grin appear on his lips; the two being left alone together was hilarious to the blonde. To the masses, it seemed like Rita and Sasuke nearly hated one another and were only around one another due to Naruto. Yet, in reality, the two found each other attractive and constantly pissed one another off as a way of flirting.
Naruto couldn't lie; Rita was attractive, but she wasn't his type. For Sasuke though? It was like a match made in heaven to Naruto. The two were both not people persons, and they always seemed like something was up their ass. Of course, he doubted Sasuke would ever try anything since the Uchiha was always one to push girls to the side and would rather train. But, with the war and his goals now over or useless, what was to stop him from finally pursuing someone for some fun.
Naruto had thought of it; he had seen how some of the moxes looked at him. He had thought about it numerous times, yet he was hesitant. He had never slept with anyone before, and even then, he had only kissed a very few handful of others. He could count them on a single hand, and one of them was Sasuke to make it worse.
So the last thing he wanted was to embarrass himself in front of the more experienced girls. He also had the feeling that he didn't want to be some conquest to some female and would have liked his first time to be with someone who actually cared for him.
Before Naruto could get further into his thoughts, they were halted as he focused in on the two walking towards him and felt his smile widen. The two, of course, were Sasuke and Rita. Rita was currently trying to argue with Sasuke as he ignored her, acting like she wasn't currently at his side.
As they neared one another, Sasuke finally looked at Naruto and scowled at the grin that the blonde was making at him. For Sasuke, the Uzumaki had been badgering him for the past couple of weeks to take a shot and ask Rita out on a date or something to that effect.
Of course Sasuke had shrugged him off and told him multiple times to, "Fuck off." Still, that hadn't deterred the blonde idiot and had only doubled his efforts.
Naruto was about to open his mouth when Sasuke cut him off, "where's Sabrina?"
"She's currently in our room asleep. I didn't want to wake her up, and she'll be safe there, of course," Naruto answered, already turning and knocking on the door to Suzie's office.
"It's Open!" came a loud voice from inside.
"Granny sounds annoyed," Naruto whispered, causing Rita to snort and Sasuke to suppress a grin.
The three of them had opened the door, stepping through and met with Suzie in the room alone and pacing back and forth. "Where's Sabrina?"
"She's in our room; she fell asleep in the car and I didn't want to wake her… she needs the rest," Naruto answered the Mox leader.
"I'll have a couple of the girls go and get her so she can get checked and cleaned up after all this… Now, what the fuck happened." Suzie said, finally stopping her pacing and stood straight, staring at the two.
Naruto and Sasuke looked at each other before Sasuke finally sighed and began retelling the events that had happened only an hour ago. He had told her the basics of what happened, leaving out the obvious use of Jutsu's and the details of the fight, deciding that wasn't important.
"Were there any survivors?" Suzie asked as Sasuke finished.
"No," Sasuke answered without hesitation.
Suzie looked at both of them before sighing and dropping into her chair. Placing her elbows on the glass table and rubbing her face with her hands. "Thank you, both of you… Thank you."
"It wasn't a problem," Naruto grinned, placing his hands behind his head.
"Still, you saved one of us… Again," she replied with a hint of sadness in her voice. "Also here… you two deserve it," she added, sliding over a shard to the two.
"What is it?" Naruto asked, reaching out to grab it.
"It's the pay you earned… six thousand eddies," Suzie answered, her voice coming out tired.
The other three occupants in the room looked bewildered at Suzie. It was then Rita decided to speak, "Why so much?" She asked, walking forward and snatching the shard out of Naruto's hand and sliding it into her neural slot. "Shit, she's actually being serious."
"Of course I am… Look, I have to admit, after what you did for me today and for Sabrina. It made me see how I might have been…" She said, the final words unable to be heard by the others.
"What?" Naruto asked, leaning forward.
Again, only a jumble of words came out of Suzie's mouth.
"Sue, you need to speak up," Sasuke said.
"I said… I might have been treating you two unfairly," Suzie said, her annoyance beginning to show at having to admit how she had been acting recently.
"Can you say that again, I forgot to record," Rita said, causing the dark-skinned Mox to shoot her a death glare.
"That six thousand is for everything you've done for us. From saving Rita, doing the security work, and for saving Sabrina," Suzie explained.
"This might just be enough for Neural implants and a set of arms," Naruto said, taking the shard from Rita.
"It is… I made sure, they won't buy you top of the line shit. But, it'll get you two some chrome," Suzie answered for Naruto.

October 3rd 2073
A week had passed since what N54, the main news station of Night City, had dubbed the Slaughter of the Tiger Claws. Naruto and Sasuke found out soon after leaving Suzie's office that the news had caught wind of the NCPD chatter and arrived at the same time as the police.
From there, they discovered how the fourteen bodies found dead were all reported members of the gang. Wild assumptions were made, some suggesting a gang war, while others proposed a possible cyberpsycho on the loose. Another theory was someone or a group hunting down gangers to finally clean up the city.
"Hey, Sasuke… weren't there fifteen of them in total?" Naruto said as they watched the news on an old TV one of the moxes gave them.
"There were…" Sasuke replied, unperturbed.
"Oh no," Naruto whispered as he felt his phone vibrate. Reluctantly giving it a glance, he saw "Granny Sue" as the caller.
The blonde slowly answered the phone and put it on speaker. "You both said they were all dead," Suzie said, her voice coming from the speaker of the phone, level-headed.
"We did," Naruto replied. His voice came out normal, as if he didn't know what she was getting at.
"Then tell me why N54 is only counting fourteen dead bodies out of the fifteen you talked about!" Suzie replied, her voice starting to rise, slowly turning into a full shout.
"There's nothing to worry about; they didn't see our faces. Only the first two, but we made sure they were flatlined before we moved on… if any of them survived, they are probably hiding from the other Tiger Claws at the moment," Sasuke said, making sure to be loud enough for Suzie to hear.
There was silence from the phone for almost a minute before Suzie replied again, "You two are to stay here for the next week. If they decide the Moxes are behind this, then they are going to be busting down our doors."
"But what about our-" Naruto whined before he was abruptly cut off.
"You should have thought about that when you let one of them live!" Suzie shouted before the call was cut off.
It was then a very intense week for the Moxes had passed. With a very boring and tedious week for Naruto and Sasuke. The two had taken to at least exploring around Night City in their free time. But with them being forced to stay on the premises twenty-four seven, it was beginning to drive them stir crazy.
Fortunately for the two shinobi, the final night had come. A simple night of the usual men and women coming in to either drink and party or have a braindance. It was slow and easy-going for the two until a scene broke out. One involving a male patron and a female patron.
"Fuck off me, you gonk, I ain't one of the girls!" Shouted the female, turning around swinging at the male. The punch connected, and a crunch was heard, signifying his nose had been broken.
"Ah, you fucking bitch!" Shouted the man, his right hand flying to his nose that was now gushing blood as his left hand reached for his waistband.
"You reach for that piece, and you're dead," came a voice right behind the man.
At once, he spun around and felt his blood run cold as he saw the near-black eye of the security guard and what he, for a second, thought was a purple eye, before it was hidden behind a strand of hair.
"The bitch broke my nose!" The man shouted, his voice coming out nasally and pathetic.
"Looks like to me you tried grabbing onto her, and after all, that is the number one rule of Lizzie's," came Naruto's voice, appearing behind the man.
"She ain't even a Mox. The rules don't apply to her!"
Sasuke stared at the guy, seeing if he would try to cause a fight or leave willingly. Unfortunately, the gonk chose the former and swung wide at Sasuke. He didn't move as the fist was caught mid-air by Naruto in a tight grasp.
"Want me to handle it or you?" Sasuke asked, glancing at Naruto.
"He tried attacking you," Naruto shrugged, letting the arm go and shoving him towards Sasuke.
Sasuke only sighed and grabbed the man by the back of the neck before forcing him forward and towards the exit of Lizzie's.
"You alright?" Naruto asked, turning and asking the female that was already sitting back at the bar and taking a drink from her glass.
"I'm fine, I could have handled him myself," she said, sounding a bit annoyed at having been saved.
"Yea, but it wouldn't look good for Lizzie's if we didn't handle the problem and just let you guys fight," Naruto replied with a grin.
The girl let out a snort and replied, "I doubt it, even if you two weren't here, the moxes would have probably beaten the guy right in front of everyone."
"Nah, they had to put a stop to that after this one guy got a stiffy," Naruto chuckled, which in turn caused the female to nearly choke on her drink.
After she was done sputtering and coughing up her drink, she looked at Naruto. "You're kidding…"
"I wish I was. Sasuke and I were dealing with some gonk who had tried to skip out on paying the bar. Well, as that was happening. Another guy saw his chance and slapped one of the moxes on the ass and got punched to the ground. It was only when he shouted 'yes' did they realize what was going on."
"Shit, what did you guys do with the gonk?" She asked.
"The moxes wanted to strip him down and kick him out, but rethought the idea when he started nodding his head at what they threatened him with… So they just had us kick him out," Naruto shrugged.
"To be honest, he kind of reminded me of someone I knew when I was younger," Naruto sighed.
"Yea?" she asked, wanting to know more.
Naruto chuckled quietly, "It was my godfather. Probably the most perverted guy I knew… Was so bad I would call him Pervy Sage in public… it, of course, didn't deter him from doing half the shit he did."
Bringing up someone from his past life was nice. Him and Sasuke had slowly been bringing up people from their pasts, saying how over time they were both remembering their family. Sasuke had begun to remember their older brother Itachi, while Naruto was remembering their godfather Jiraiya. Of course, questions had come from Rita and the other Moxes asking about their parents. But, the two couldn't decide whose parents to choose from. So they decided never to bring their parents up.
At that, the girl arched an eyebrow, "Should I assume you're like him, or am I safe?"
Naruto laughed at that, "No, I usually was the one that would try to warn the girls what he was trying to do."
"How so?" she asked.
Naruto only grinned and sat down at the seat next to the girl, who responded by turning her body to give her full attention to the Uzumaki. She was attractive to Naruto, and no doubt was to most guys and girls.
Her skin was slightly tanned, with no noticeable chrome on. Naruto doubted she was ganic like he was. She didn't have a trace of makeup on, which only attracted Naruto more, showing how natural her beauty was. She was currently wearing a ragged-looking crop-top colored yellow with a large X in the front, with pink short sleeves. Her pants were a bright reflective gold with patches of what Naruto guessed were black leather, with brown leather straps going around both her thighs.
It was then he took in her hair color, a full set of red, nearly violet hair.
Sasuke returned with a new gun tucked into his front waist. He was already searching for where Naruto had gone, but then he noticed the blonde was talking to the girl they had, quote on quote, saved.
Sasuke, of course, had the urge to pull Naruto away since they had a job to do. But he knew Naruto needed someone besides the Moxes and himself to talk to. It also helped that it was an attractive girl who was giving her full attention to him.
Naruto had confided with Sasuke earlier in the week about how the crush he had on Sakura was nothing more than a petty goal to prove to Sasuke he could even take the girls that fantasize over him. That had actually caused Sasuke to break out into a laughing fit, but it was good to know that his best friend wasn't obsessed with a girl who didn't love him back.
So finally, he decided to turn around and walk off, letting Naruto have his night. He knew if something went to shit then he would help. But until then, he was going to let him have his fun.
For Naruto, the night flew by, his attention mainly focused on the girl. There were a couple of times he had to get up to kick out a patron. Yet, each and every time he came back, she was there waiting for him, either for him to continue his story or for her to continue hers.
He had learned a decent amount about her, the typical street kid that grew up in Heywood. Grew up boosting cars and just being a general pain in the ass. She had also said how she always hung out with the guys. She didn't have any siblings, so she looked at her neighbors that were around her age as her brothers.
Naruto had divulged a tiny bit of the life he "remembered," telling her how he and Sasuke were taught to fight at a young age, and the older they got, the more intense their training was. Of course, that was until their family had died, but by that time, they used fighting as a tool to survive.
"So why be here if you're some Heywood street kid?" Naruto asked her.
She chuckled before looking down and rubbing the bridge of her nose, "Man, this is going to be embarrassing. But I was actually supposed to meet a friend from a while back here, but she messaged me after I got here saying something came up."
"Ouch, stood up by a friend? That's rough," Naruto said, his face scrunched up in a show of pain.
"I know right, well at least tonight wasn't too bad." She laughed before taking a drink from her beer.
"Alright, final call!" Shouted Mateo from behind the bar.
"I guess that's my time to head out," the girl said, beginning to stand from the bar.
"Want me to walk you to the station?" Naruto asked.
She let out a snort, "What a gentleman, but I'm alright though, I can take care of myself… But here," she said, snapping her fingers at Naruto and feeling his phone buzz.
"My deets… Message me if you ever want to do something again," she said, seeing Naruto pull out his phone and check it.
Naruto grinned before his face looked at her in embarrassment. "Ya know, I never got your name."
"Oh yea, it's Valerie, but everyone calls me V."
Naruto smiled at that, "I'll make sure to send you a message when I'm free then, V."
She only smiled before walking towards the exit of Lizzie's, leaving Naruto to watch her figure as it disappeared through the club.

October 4th 2073
Finally, the one-week house arrest had come to an end for Naruto and Sasuke. Which meant they were finally able to "Chrome up," as everyone said. They had originally planned to head out themselves and walk back to Lizzie's, that was until Rita had told them how bad of an idea that would be.
"Care to explain why it would be a bad idea?" Sasuke asked.
"Neural link installations and then a cybernetic right after usually lead to the person a little too mentally tired," Rita explained, sitting with her back against the wall on Sasuke's bed.
"We'll be fine," Naruto commented, throwing on his sneakers.
"No, it won't be fine. I know you two act like you're unstoppable, but the mental strain and trauma from getting cybernetics the first time are heavy," Rita argued with Naruto.
"Fine, we'll head out to that Viktor guy's place, and when we finish, we'll give you a call to pick us up," Sasuke said.
It was then Sasuke saw Rita sag in relief at that. Something he had begun noticing more and more about her. Ever since the day they saved Sabrina from the Tiger Claws, she had started to spend more time with them, especially him when given the chance.
At first, it worried him, mainly because he half expected her to become almost like Sakura, an annoyance that was borderline creepy. Yet she didn't, it was just her spending more time around them and seeming to take his and Naruto's safety a bit more seriously. Of course, whenever she was around, she tended to be closer to him than Naruto. Which in turn caused the blonde to smirk at him whenever she wasn't looking.
Sasuke, of course, had ignored it all and chalked it up to Naruto and his idiotic nature. Yet, over the past week, he was beginning to see how Rita was acting differently towards him. For Naruto, she was still her bitchy nature, but for Sasuke, she seemed to almost relent against him. Their arguments ended faster, and her threats seemed almost half-hearted, like she was doing so as a job rather than her usual nature.
"Alright, give me a call when you guys are done," Rita said, scooting herself off the bed and walking towards the exit. Her hand brushed against Sasuke's leg, something the Uchiha noticed.
"Finally, let's go before someone else stops us," Naruto said, jumping to his feet and throwing on his coat, Sasuke following behind.
Rita had exited the door and instantly turned right, only seconds had passed when she heard the door open. An excited Naruto and bored-looking Sasuke walked out and went left. Rita glanced at them before groaning and walking towards the basement level of Lizzie's.
"Judy!" Rita shouted as she busted through the double doors to the techie's workshop.
"I really did wish people would knock," Judy commented, her attention focused on whatever she was looking at on a tablet.
"Can you help me out?" Rita said, throwing herself onto the seat that was used for brain dances.
"Hey Judy, how've you been? Oh, I've been good, Rita," Judy said to herself, removing her eyes from the tablet and placing it down.
Rita let out a groan and a slight roll of the eyes. "Hey Judy, how've you been?"
"Oh, I've been good, Rita," Judy replied with a mocking innocent smile.
"Good, now can you help me out with something?"
Judy looked at Rita and waved her hand in a way to tell her to continue.
Rita groaned again and placed her hands on her face. "This is fucking stupid; never mind, pretend I didn't come here," she said, already getting up from the seat.
"No no," Judy replied, moving and pushing the purple-haired mox back down. "Is this about Sasuke, and you not boning yet?"
Rita opened her mouth and closed it several times before sighing and nodding her head, "Is it that obvious?"
"Chica… we are in a brothel, and the Moxes can still smell the sexual tension between you two," Judy said.
"That bad?" Rita winced.
"Why do you think none of the Moxes have tried getting with Sasuke and only been teasing Naruto? They already think you've sunk your claws into him."
"Well, I haven't. I've been practically throwing myself at him, and he ignores it like he's gay… no offense," Rita complained.
"You haven't been trying hard enough. Naruto has even been trying to force something between you two. Haven't you noticed how he just slips away at random times? Well, he does, and he comes here and annoys the fuck out of me," Judy complained back to the mox.
"Well, what should I do?" Rita asked, throwing her hands up in exasperation.
"Why even ask me? I've only been with two people. You're the true mox," Judy countered.
"I'm not the sex worker Mox! I'm the bashing head's in and protecting the others, kind!" Rita argued back. Yes, she slept with a couple of guys. But that was like three of them, and they were only quick one-night stands after a night of drinking.
"That still doesn't answer my question, why ask me?" Judy repeated.
"Because! If I ask any of the others, they'll just tell me to corner him and fuck him," Rita argued.
Judy looked up at the ceiling as she moved her head side to side, as if thinking about an answer. "I mean… At this point in time, they aren't wrong. It's obvious you two are attracted to one another. We've known him for a bit over three months. I think it's safe to assume he feels something towards you.
"And what if I try fucking him, and he pushes me away?" Rita asked.
"Then oh well, wasn't meant to be and all of that other shit… Now if you don't mind," Judy said, motioning her hand towards the door.
"Yea yea yea," Rita muttered, getting up off the seat and walking towards the door. Maybe she should just do it; if, in the worst-case scenario, he says no, then oh well.
~~~SCENE~~~
Naruto and Sasuke arrived at Bradbury and Buran's with no issue. However, the problem arose when they couldn't find the supposed Ripperdoc. They walked up and down the street, glancing at each storefront for any signs of Viktor Vektor.
"I swear, if Rita gave us some bullshit deets…" Sasuke cursed under his breath.
"I'm go ask one of the storefronts," said Naruto, already walking towards a store called 'Misty's Esoterica and Chakra Harmonization.'
As the two walked in, their sense of smell was bombarded with scents that finally managed to mask the god awful scent of Night City. "It smells so good… I might cry," Naruto said aloud, taking a deep breath in.
"Welcome in. What you're smelling is the incense petrichor, the fresh scent of rain hitting the earth and trees after a dry spell," a voice came from behind the counter.
Naruto and Sasuke's eyes fell on the voice, both taking in the appearance of the slightly older girl in front of them. She was wearing a heavy long-sleeve shirt that seemed several sizes too large for her, a pendant, and a spiked collar necklace. Her eyes had heavy, dark, and messy eyeliner, while her hair was a messy dirty blonde that barely passed her ears.
"My name is Misty. How can I help you two?" she spoke again, causing Naruto to speak up.
"How much for the ince—Ouch!" Naruto cried as he felt Sasuke's heel stomp on his toe.
"Do you know where we can find Viktor Vektor?" Sasuke asked, causing the girl to raise an arched eyebrow.
"Take the door in the back and walk down the stairs," Misty said, her shoulders slightly slumping at not getting a sale.
Sasuke nodded and began walking past the girl, with Naruto behind him. However, Naruto quickly stopped and leaned forward. "Save me some of that 'pet rick or'," Naruto said quietly, completely mispronouncing the name and causing Misty to giggle.
The two quickly made their way out the door and down the stairs before coming across a door. Fortunately, the door opened for them with a touch. As they walked in, they noticed the vast difference from the outside. The large room was cooler, nearing what must have been in the seventies, and much cleaner, even compared to the hospital from the Hidden Leaf.
"Come on! Block the damn gut!" shouted a voice from around the corner, causing Naruto and Sasuke to look at each other in confusion. As they turned the corner, they noticed a single man sitting on a chair, his eyes glued to a TV, mimicking what Naruto and Sasuke could only guess was a boxing match. It was only when he heard a cough come from Naruto that he looked and saw the two shinobi watching him.
"Oh, sorry about that, I was watching a match," Viktor said, standing up and going to their hands. He shook Sasuke's without issue but awkwardly looked at Naruto as he noticed his arm was missing.
Viktor looked like the rarity of people within Night City, little to no cybernetics at all from a first glance. He looked middle-aged, possibly in his early sixties. He wore loose-fitting clothing, his sleeves rolled up to his upper biceps, with one arm covered in tattoos. His other arm was blank, besides a glove of cloth and metal wrapped around it.
"Name's Viktor, but everyone calls me Vik. What can I do for you both today?" Vik said, glancing at the two.
"We need neural ports for both of us and, if possible, a right arm for him and a left for me," Sasuke said, nudging his head in Naruto's direction.
Vik looked at the two for several seconds as he rubbed his chin before nodding his head. "Alright, but first, I need some things from you two."
"Like what?" Naruto asked.
"I like to conduct a psych evaluation on my clients to ensure you aren't gonked in the head and won't go cyberpsycho from a bit of chrome," Vik answered thoughtfully.
"Take a seat over there and answer the questions on these," Vik added, handing two pads out and pointing at a set of chairs. The two obliged, taking their seats and scrolling down a long list of questions. Everything from simple math to scenario-based, and even what their favorite foods were.
"How does saying what my favorite food is dictate if I'm stable for some chrome?" Sasuke asked, growing irritated at how long the list of questions was.
"Each and every question is just a single part of a larger puzzle. If I ask these questions separately, then they mean nothing. But when asked all together, it's all compiled to what I want to see," Vik explained as he scrolled through another data pad.
"How many eddies are we working with today?" Vik added, glancing at the two.
"Six thousand," Naruto answered, typing out a response on his data pad.
Vik nodded his head, "I can work with that. It won't get you anything preem, but it'll get you two something."
Thirty minutes passed before Naruto and Sasuke finished and handed the pads back to Vik. He took them and, without looking, tossed them haphazardly on his desk.
"Aren't you going to look them over?" Sasuke asked, his right eye twitching at having to do the obnoxious test, just for it to be ignored by the one who gave it.
"Huh? Oh yeah, I'll check it later," Vik replied absentmindedly, turning around his data pad and showing the two a set of arms.
"These are worth about forty-five hundred; they're zetatech. Now, they aren't a pair of gorilla arms or anything special. But they are reliable; they came out a decade ago and work just as well, if not better than a ganic arm. The only downside is they aren't compatible with RealSkinn, so you'll be rocking the black," Vik explained as he scrolled through the pictures of the cybernetic arms.
"We'll take them," Sasuke said with a nod of his head.
"Perfect, who's gonna go first?" Vik asked.
Naruto and Sasuke looked at one another. The thought hadn't crossed their minds. Seconds had passed before Naruto sighed and smiled at Sasuke, "I'll do it."
"Naruto…" Sasuke began, but was cut off.
"Alright, Doc, how does this work?" Naruto said, standing up and looking around.
"First, Eddies up front; second, remove your coat and shirt. Finally, take a seat in that chair and get comfortable; I'll hit you with an anesthetic and get you unconscious. The whole procedure should take around two hours," explained Vik.
Naruto nodded and handed the shard to Vik before he removed his upper clothing and walked to the chair, plopping himself down. Vik walked to his desk and inserted the shard into a monitor slot before nodding his head and pulling out five hundred physical eddies, handing them to Sasuke. After he followed Naruto and sat on a stool before moving some tools and equipment around, he then looked at his patient. "You ready?"
"Yup," Naruto said, his voice finally showing that hint of nervousness.
"Alright, nice deep breaths now," Vik said, grabbing a syringe and gently stabbing it into Naruto's neck.
The Uzumaki winced and waited for the needle to come out. When it finally did, Naruto looked at Vik with a raised eyebrow, "So when is this supposed to-'' He began but stopped as he instantly fell asleep, already snoring loudly.
"Hehe, it always happens," Vik chuckled.
Vik moved Naruto's head around to get a clear view of where he would be working but stopped and looked back at Sasuke. "You don't gotta stay for this part if you don't want to. I won't lie; it can get a bit rough to look at."
Sasuke looked at Vik and then Naruto, "I'll be fine, but can you point me to the restroom?"
Vik nodded, "It's upstairs with Misty. Place used to be a garage, so I don't have one."
Sasuke nodded and strode to the door. As it closed, he summoned a shadow clone. "Wait for five minutes and go back in," he commanded before walking up the stairs and into Misty's.
Sasuke quickly went to the restroom before walking out. He glanced at the backdoor, contemplating going back into Vik's but decided against it and walked deeper into the store. It was then he noticed Misty was no longer behind the desk but in the front, organizing the shelves.
"You're back; I guess the blonde wanted to go first?" Misty said, her eyes never leaving her task at hand.
"How did you know it was me?" Sasuke asked, raising an eyebrow.
"Your aura is different from his… it's dark but healing and almost painful, like you've been slighted too many times and your trust is limited," Misty replied, finally turning to glance at the Uchiha.
Sasuke's face stayed passive, and he replied, "And what's his like?"
Misty let out a small giggle, "His is bright, almost glowing. It's also warm and welcoming. It isn't to say at one point it was also dark."
Sasuke nodded his head. Externally, he took the words in stride. Internally, he was already on guard with the dirty blonde. She seemed innocent, but she had been able to break down both him and Naruto's characters.
"What brings you here?" Misty asked, walking away from the front and past Sasuke before getting behind the desk.
"I wanted to buy the incense you told us about," Sasuke replied, turning to look at Misty. He didn't want to admit it to Naruto, but the smell did remind him of home. A place he despised, but like most, a place he couldn't ever fully give up on forgetting.
"Reminds you of home also?" Misty asked, reaching under the desk and pulling out some boxes of incense and an incense burner. One that resembled a fox sleeping over a patch of grass. "The other one said he'll come back and buy some, so I decided to have it bagged and waiting for him. The incense burner is something I felt like he'll appreciate." She explained to Sasuke with an innocent smile.
Sasuke only nodded and took out the five hundred eddies Vik gave him, "How much is it?"
"It'll be fifty," Misty answered. Sasuke nodded and handed the cash to her and accepted the merchandise.
"Say, would you mind if I try something with you?" Misty asked, her elbows propped on the counter. Sasuke looked at the girl with a skeptical look which caused her to burst out laughing, "Oh no, not like that, sorry… I mean like doing a tarot card spread?"
"A what?" Sasuke asked, confused. Misty's smile grew more, and she pulled out a set of cards that looked old and on the verge of turning into dust. "A tarot spread is when I shuffle these cards and pull out four of them. They will then give us some insight into your past, present, future, and advice."
Sasuke looked at the cards and the girl. He was on the verge of just walking away, but he knew he would hear it from Naruto later and sighed, "Go ahead."
"Perfect! Okay, now think about your recent past and what you expect for the future." Misty said, expertly shuffling the cards before pulling out the first one.
"The Tower… one of radical change, chaos, and destruction. Your old beliefs and goals have been challenged, and now you're forced to change."
"The world… you have learned from your mistakes. Yet, you are still affected by them, but still, you have accepted the gift of a new journey."
"Death… don't worry; it doesn't mean what you think," Misty snorted after seeing Sasuke glare at her. "Death means you will go through a difficult transition. A piece of you will die so another will be born."
"And finally… reverse lovers… interesting. You are holding yourself back, clinging onto the past without realizing it, and restricting yourself from enjoying something you deserve to indulge in," Misty finished, looking at Sasuke.
After nearly ten seconds had passed, Sasuke nodded his head and began walking toward the back door. "You know, you never told me your name!" Misty called out, collecting the cards.
"It's Sasuke," he said, just loud enough for the girl to hear, just before walking through the door and letting it shut behind him.
"Sasuke…" Misty said, testing the name out on her tongue. "Interesting guy."
~~~SCENE~~~
"Nap time is over, Naruto," came a distant voice.
"Not yet, Anna… five more minutes," Naruto cried, no doubt dreaming of one of the head Moxes.
Vik and Misty, who was Vik's nurse when it came to helping his patients, both turned and arched an eyebrow at Sasuke, who in return groaned.
"It's a Mox we know… Naruto, you idiot, wake up," Sasuke called out, kicking the blonde's foot.
The action caused him to startle awake and look around. "Damn, my head is pounding," Naruto cried, rubbing softly against his newly installed port, causing him to get the chills from the feeling it left him.
"Careful, it's going to be a bit sensitive," Vik warned.
Naruto moved his hand away from the port and looked down, seeing the one thing he was most anxious and excited for: his new arm.
It was odd to him; the arm was just a bit more bulky than his organic one. Along with that, the design of the arm was to mimic the muscular system. To the blonde, it seemed a bit too bleak for his tastes. Something he was already planning on changing with some paint or the likes.
Slowly, he lifted the cybernetic and moved it around in front of his face. Slowly clenching and unclenching the metal and polymer hand. Seeing the synthetic muscles flex and unflex.
"This is freaky," Naruto whispered, able to feel it like it was truly his organic hand.
"How's it feeling? Any numbness or maybe too sensitive?" Vik asked, rubbing his chin as he looked over Naruto.
"It's good, almost too good. It's like I never lost my arm," Naruto said, his full attention focused on the zeta tech cybernetic.
"Good, now up and off the chair. Time for the moody one's turn," joked Vik, causing Sasuke to glare at him while Misty covered her mouth and let out a small laugh.
Naruto let out a snort of laughter and hopped off the chair. "Alright, your turn, Sasuke," Naruto said, stretching out his back and moving his new arm around and touching his face to see how it felt.
Sasuke let out a grunt and removed his upper clothing before sitting on the chair that was previously occupied by Naruto.
"Alright, same thing I told your brother: deep breaths in and out," Vik said, moving the syringe and poking Sasuke's neck.
Sasuke let out an involuntary wince as the needle broke skin and felt the cool liquid flow through his body. It was then he took a deep breath and closed his eyes, letting the medicine do its work.
"Do you guys know where the restroom is?" Naruto asked, scratching at the neural port.
"Misty will show you, and stop scratching the port," Vik replied, moving Sasuke's head to the side.
"Come on, Naruto, it's inside the store," Misty commented, already walking out of the garage.
The blonde followed behind, most of his attention focused on the arm. Misty had quickly shown him the toilet and left him to his own devices. A couple of minutes had passed when he walked out, now pinching the cybernetic.
"It's freaky how realistic it feels," Naruto said, pinching his forearm and then the cyber forearm.
"That's usually what everyone says when they get their first cyber limb," Misty replied, sitting on a stool next to the desk.
Naruto stayed staring at his arm, fiddling with it more. Fortunately, he was finally pulled away when Misty spoke again. "Say Naruto, would you mind if I try something with you?"
"Sure!" Naruto said with a smile.
Misty couldn't help but smile at him and pulled out the deck of cards she had used on Sasuke a couple of hours ago. "I wanna do something called a tarot spread. I will pull out four cards that will tell us your past, present, future, and some words of advice."
"Ohhhh," Naruto awed, looking at the cards, a gleam in his eyes.
'They're like night and day,' Misty thought to herself with a smile as she shuffled the cards.
"First will be your past," she said, pulling out the first card.
"Strength… you have finally reached your goal or even achieved a power of spiritual fortitude. Meaning, you probably won the struggle within you," she explained to Naruto, watching his face shift from confusion to realization.
"Next will be The Fool…" She said before breaking out and laughing at Naruto's expression. "It doesn't mean that exactly. It means, everyone, even you and I. Each step the Fool takes leads them on their journey to a brave new world. Ultimately, the journey will change them. But, the Fool is trustworthy, won't back down until they reach their goal."
"Justice… It means the need for order. You'll soon see through the lies and deceit of things, and from that, you'll want to return things to how they naturally should be."
"Finally, The Emperor… it means you could or even have the authority or power to shape your future. You want to strive for the good of the commoner, but there is a dark side that can escape. If you aren't careful, your goals of shaping the future will be followed by a righteous path of bodies and blood," Misty finished. Her eyes focused on Naruto as his gaze remained fixed on the Emperor card.
When she noticed the younger blonde wasn't going to say anything, she sighed. "But, that's just what the cards say, for all we know they can really mean nothing," she commented, seeing Naruto let his shoulders sag in relief.
"Where did you learn to do this?" Naruto asked, glancing at Misty as she began collecting the cards.
"My grandma. She used to do these readings for the others in my neighborhood when I was young. She said it brought people some inner peace or a wake-up to what could really happen to them," Misty explained with a shrug of her shoulders.
"So these are hers?" Naruto asked, noting how old and faded the cards were.
"Yea, I was thinking of replacing them. But I just can't, not yet. I don't know why, but something is telling me not to," Misty smiled.
"Well, when you do, I'll be your first customer to try them out," Naruto said with a grin.
"I'll hold you to it, Naruto," Misty replied.
A/N: How did you guys like the chapter? I was really jumping back and forth on introducing characters. I know Rita might seem odd, but we really never had much to go off of besides her appearance and some bio. I like to think under all that toughness is someone who really doesn't know how to handle someone she thinks is playing hard to get like Sasuke.
Also, how did you like the introduction of V? I went for the street kid lifestyle. I see too many corpo V's and I just felt doing another one was nice. I was actually contemplating on having V be a male and just be one of the ones to shoot the shit with Sasuke and Naruto. But then again I will be introducing Maine, David, Jackie, Pilar, Falco. So many male characters that I know will be fun to write that I decided to have them be female.
Besides that I do hope you all enjoyed the chapter and if you did please follow and favorite and if you can leave a review on what you enjoyed and what you would like to see. Even what I can improve on.
Park Otsutsuki : Oh, they will be overcoming a lot of their trauma through this story. They will also be finding some comforts while realizing both their world and Night City are both terrible places that used them for gains.
Samuel Santillan : I am considering pairs, but I just don't know if I can refuse our boy David from having his Lucy.
Engulfing Darkness : I will go into more detail about all of that with them. It's tough, because towards the end of shippuden they are doing things even cybernetics couldn't do. To the point even a sandevistan wouldn't really do much for them.
Riba Nyabom : oh don't worry they won't get nerfed. Now, they won't be using their full power as well, the story will just end by chapter 9. I don't want to spoil anything, but you aren't too far off from what I have in mind.
Shiro : what kind of CB2077 fan would I be without bringing in Panam?
Spellbat : Netrunners would be tough. Sasuke for one because he would have to get possible implants which would have him lose his sharingan and rinnegan. And for Naruto, I doubt he would be a great hacker. He isn't dumb, but he isn't a netrunner type of smart.
Blackwing67 : Thank you
ZH99 : Their names are the reason I wanted to create this story to begin with.
NICK HURR : :)
TheDemonofChaos : I really appreciate that.
Kai753337 : Just so many options to choose from. But don't worry, we will get some good pairings by the end.
Sniperbro1998 : Naruto and Sasuke "Wouldn't shit stomp" they ARE going to shit stomp. Night City will learn to fear the gods of wind and storms. And just imagining Sasuke being forced to give David a fatherly speech almost makes me want to commit.
Lutanom : I do have to apologize, I do hope you give the story a chance. I really did rush out with the two chapters, but I will start taking my time on editing the future ones.
Killermemester : I honestly didn't think of doing something like that. But I don't know if that would necessarily work as great as it should. But my man you are a damn genius and gave me a beautiful plot device to use in the future.
